at Crystal Razor is THE BEST! I had originally booked another highly rated hair and makeup service in CT in January, but after having my hair and makeup trial with them in May I was left unsatisfied. Due to the busy wedding season the few dates they were able to do another trial for me didn't fit my schedule (I live in Boston) before my wedding in September, so in mid July I reached out to Crystal to see if she was available. Luckily she was, so she and Shonte (makeup artist) came to my mother-in-laws house in Milford to do my hair and makeup trial before my bridal shower on a Saturday morning. I had explained my situation to Crystal and Shonte, showed them pictures of my previous trial that I didn't like, and inspiration photos from Pinterest so they were very understanding of what I was and was not looking for.
For my hair trial Crystal did a total of 3 hairstyles (!!) for me. The first two were two updos, and the third was a half up half down style. I thought we would just do the one hairstyle and that would be it, but Crystal was the one who suggested we take my hair down from the updo for my bridal shower. Instead of putting it down fully she did half up half down so I could see this style, as I was fluctuating between doing an updo or half up half down. I LOVED the updo she did, and the half up half down came out beautiful was well. For my makeup Shonte did a fabulous job and really listened to what I wanted. Everyone was complimenting me so much throughout the day on my hair and makeup, and it lasted 12+ hours! I took pictures earlier in the day and then closer to midnight that night, and everything still held up and looked great! I knew that I had to book them for my wedding day!
I booked Crystal and Shonte for hair and makeup services for me, my mom, my mother-in-law, and my flower girl. Day of they arrived right on time, and since the other hair and makeup company had started much earlier that morning for my bridesmaids in the living room of the hotel suite, Crystal and Shonte setup in the bedroom. Despite the cramped quarters of their work space they worked efficiently and smoothly. My mom and mother-in-law are minimalists with their everyday makeup, and Shonte made sure to follow their direction on what they were envisioning. Overall their hair and makeup looked stunning, and they were VERY HAPPY with their looks. Crystal did my flower girls hair (10 years old), and also did an awesome job. For my hair and makeup, all I can say is WOW. It was everything I've ever hoped for, and I was so so so pleased with how I looked. Crystal and Shonte were a dream to work with, and I highly recommend them! Thank you Crystal and Shonte!!!

ith a monolid, so I was extremely nervous about previous Asian-faces experience. Crystal always answered very promptly and completely and made me feel like I made the right choice in vendors.
She arrived early to my hotel room, didn't need a lot of space (just a chair for you and a surface for her supplies), and it was such a great experience. We chatted like old friends and before I knew it, I was already done! She was very conscientious of wedding timelines - for example, I wanted a looser curl but she suggested I keep it tight now so it would be loose by the time of the wedding/pictures, and she was right! She also was very customer-oriented and wanted me to be happy, asking me if there was anything even subtle that I wanted to change.

After wearing the trial hair and makeup around for a day, I decided on some things I wanted to change and she helped me to nail my look and fix the little things I wanted to tweak.On the day of the wedding she came with another stylist and both of them were great to work with. She was a calming presence on an otherwise hectic day. My hair came out like a masterpiece! She did such a great job with my vintage inspired 1920s look. The makeup felt heavy since I don't wear much everyday but it looked surprisingly natural and held up for a solid 12 hours with only light touch-ups. My only issue was that she only brought bright red lipsticks which wasn't the look I was going for but luckily my bridesmaid had a better color with her so it wasn't a problem. Overall Crystal was easy to work with, knowledgeable about style options, and competitively priced. I would definitely recommend her!

Crystal was super sweet to accommodate our wedding date - she was pregnant at the time and was due just a week after the wedding, and yet she said yes! She agreed to work with me and we scheduled a trial.
The trial was so easy and fun - I had no doubts that she was the one. The trial was scheduled on the day of my bridal shower - when my girls saw me they thought I was getting married that day :) I never got so many compliments on my make up ever!!
On the wedding day Crystal and her assistant came to the location on time and made us pretty in a flash :) they've accommodated all of my bridesmaids requests, Crystal even did my mom's and dad's (!!) hair free of charge. She is the sweetest woman ever!
All in all, I can't recommend Crystal enough. She is super talented, great personality, and someone who will magically make your wedding make-up dreams come true!
