te. Kalona appeared disorganized from the start. Just 30 minutes before the ceremony, she incorrectly told me and my guests that the location had been changed — causing panic and confusion. When we arrived at the actual ceremony site (the correct one), nothing had been properly arranged: chairs weren’t set up as planned, there were no aisle petals, and the music wasn’t playing. I knew something was seriously wrong when I saw my mother — in full hair and makeup and a formal gown — physically rearranging chairs and guiding guests where to sit. Kalona also asked the groom if he had the speaker and music, even though we had already gone over the sound setup in detail and the sound technician was visibly present with a large speaker system she apparently ignored. It became clear she had shown up at the same time as the guests, rather than arriving early to oversee or prepare the space. At the reception, the dessert table was not set up as discussed. My grandmother had to step in to tell Kalona where to place the cake and cupcakes. Despite having received a detailed timeline well in advance, Kalona repeatedly came to me throughout the night to ask what was happening next — completely defeating the purpose of hiring a coordinator. The next morning, I returned to the venue to retrieve decor (rented from another vendor) and found that items had been placed in the wrong bins, with centerpiece flowers still in vases — creating unnecessary work for me before returns. Even worse, a tote filled with bud vases had been packed carelessly, many covered in ants and lacking protection. Overall, I feel like I completely wasted my $1400. I cannot understand how this vendor has so many glowing reviews, as my experience was chaotic, unprofessional, and disappointing. I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I hope this helps other couples make a more informed decision.

during Covid from many thousands of miles away! Kalona was patient and highly responsive the whole time, a sounding board to our different ideas. We finally got married in September 2021 with a much different wedding than we originally planned - but it was perfect. Kalona worked with us to figure out the Oahu Covid restrictions, offered alternate options when things changed, and made our wedding day better than we even imagined! We highly recommend Kalona. She is fair, she knows high quality vendors, and most importantly she prioritizes the wedding couple!

really helpful to us and made everything so easy. I would highly reccomend anyone use her for any type of wedding. She completely customized ours and gave us so many options to make it perfect for us. She even took a picture with us which I thought was awesome. she made it stress free and simple. She loves doing what she does and it shows. She met us at the house we were renting and walked with us down to the beach to do the ceremony. the photographer she had was amazing, they were both so fun to work with. My experience was perfect and I can not rave enough about my wedding or about Kalona. The entire weddimg was incredible.
