Nancy was incredible to work with and incredible at flower arrangements. We were not the people that knew what type of flower we wanted, only the look and color scheme we wanted. Nancy created a mood board for us and pulled lots of options of vases for us to rent and use for the wedding. The arrangements were unique and really matched our theme of an elevated barn wedding. They also designed floral arrangements for us for an archway, which were beautiful and really set the stage for the ceremony. She also was able to provide us with baskets for the flower girls and had different options and sizes for us to use. She also was flexible on coming early to get our photographer the lay flat flowers and chased down our parents to get them their flowers before the wedding. Nancy was also very thoughtful in how early to use my bouquet for pictures to ensure that it was fresh for the ceremony. I would highly recommend booking Schoolhouse Garden for your wedding!

Nancy and Julia did a wonderful job with our florals. Nancy was so attentive and flexible throughout the planning process and was able to prioritize our budget to create the perfect design for our wedding. She was so great to work with and promptly responded to communications. All of our guests commented on how beautiful our reception décor was. Nancy and her team did a fantastic job!

I can't say enough good things about Nancy and her team. Their floral designs on our wedding day absolutely knocked it out of the park. I still daydream about my wedding bouquet and wish I had preserved it SO BADLY. She was communicative, organized, detail-oriented, and so thorough. She really helped keep things on track during our wedding day and timeline, and was able to pivot when we had to make a last minute rain plan decision. Nancy and her team are extraordinary! They were creative, communicative, and so incredibly fun to work with. They were mindful of our budget, so incredibly thoughtful with the design proposal, listened to every piece of feedback, and incorporated every inspiration image we sent throughout the months of working together. Nancy was a dream to work with. She made our entire wedding look incredible. She was even able to secure peonies for an end of July wedding. I nearly cried when I saw my bouquet. She’s very communicative, and knows her craft.

A Schoolhouse Garden created beautiful flowers for our wedding! Nancy was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. I knew I wanted flowers, but didn’t have a lot of specifics in mind. After some initial communications and sharing a Pinterest board, Nancy really got a sense of what I wanted the day to feel and look like. She crafted beautiful bouquets for me and my bridesmaids and great boutonnières for all the guys. My bouquet even included fall leaves! One of my favorite things, though, was the gorgeous arch she created on the gazebo where we got married. It looked so natural and continued to look fresh and lovely through the next day. Couldn’t have asked for better flowers and a more wonderful florist at such a reasonable price.

Nancy did a wonderful job of illustrating elegant and simple flower arrangements for our wedding. I took as many of the table arrangements as I could home with us because they were so beautiful, and even made dried floral bouquets out of them!

Nancy and Julia were an absolute joy to work with for our July 2022 wedding at Sugarbush. I was pretty anxious about narrowing down my floral vision, and Nancy met with me in person and completely put me at ease. She is a true expert and knew exactly how to make my ideas come to life. Nancy and her team were great! I really enjoyed the in-person process to pick out my color scheme and decor for the night. Everything was bright and colorful just as we had spoken about. I'd say my only two elements that may have given this a 4.5 in my mind were that 1) some of the areas ended up looking a little sparse because the extra decore flowers ended up clumped in certain focal points which we hadn't reviewed 2) we had to get some replacement blooms for some accent flowers (things happen) and we hadn't talked about exactly what those would be and I wasn't digging the color those came out as.

My husband Andrew and I started working with Nancy Murray and her company, A Schoolhouse Garden, two years ago in 2019 to plan our “Summer 2020” Wedding. Nancy scrolled through millions of my “pins” to create a color palette to perfectly complement our Killington Peak Wedding Ceremony and Reception. Low and behold, like most 2020 wedding couples Andrew and ended up having to postpone our wedding twice. When we were finally able to have our formal wedding ceremony and reception in August 2021 our guests were amazed by the natural beauty and superior quality of Nancy’s tablescapes, arbor décor, and bouquets. Nancy is not just a florist, she is a designer. Andrew and I also really appreciated Nancy’s patience in working with us as we struggled to find a time when it would be safe and practical to have our full wedding ceremony. We had a bouquet and a boutonnière as part of our elopement package. We did all of our work with the florist through our elopement coordinator by filling out a worksheet with our wedding color scheme and details of our outfits. The results were incredible! We were thrilled when our flowers were delivered and they perfectly matched our color scheme. The bouquet for the bride was stunning and perfectly complemented the splashes of color on her dress. The matching boutonnière for the other spouse was beautiful and looked great with their tie and pocket square. We were so happy with how the flowers turned out with minimal direction from us.

From the beginning to the end, Nancy and her team were professional, accommodating and truly visionaries. I knew the vibe I wanted to capture in the mood and feeling of the day and Nancy took those ideas and ran with them. She created a winter wedding wonderland filled with gorgeous, unique, seasonal greenery and florals. She completely transformed the church, venue, and the flower girl crown, bouquets and boutonnières were stunningly breathtaking. EVERY guest was blown away by the beauty of the Ponds, cake, boutonnières, crown and bouquets! Nancy took my vision and made it into a reality with her professionalism and incredible art. Nancy and her staff are the best!! The provided all of the flowers for our wedding. When I booked Nancy sent me a little jpg collage of what the flowers would look like - that came in handy on many occasions as we were planning the details of the wedding. The day of the event everything was completely seamless. Our ceremony site decorations were exquisite. The staff stayed until after the ceremony so that they could move some of a pieces from the ceremony site to the reception space. The flowers and vessels were all absolutely beautiful! They even brought a cloth the blot the bottom of my bouquet so that I wouldn't get water drips on my dress. I would highly recommend Nancy and her team!

We recently got married at Riverside farms in Pittsifield VT and honestly, you wouldn't need a singe flower to make this venue stunning. But when you add the amazing flowers done by A Schoolhouse Garden, it was turned into a fairytale. My bouquet literally brought me to tears. It was absolutely gorgeous. The dozen of pictures I sent from pinterest and the dozens of conversations we had about what I envisioned, came true in the most breathtaking way. Everything was perfect. Arbor that was decorated from the ceremony, and the flowers and chandeliers and candles at the reception were just stunning. My guests days later, were still talking about the Flowers. It was actually one of the first thing said after Congrats, was OMG, the flowers Ranee. My God, they were so gorgeous. You know they were stunning when guests are posting on their Facebook Pictures of their Table or My Head Table. People were in awe! I'm so happy I chose them. I had a lot of issues with our original florist and switching to Nancy and A Schoolhouse Garden was the single best decision I made. Nancy was able to give me exactly what I wanted without me having to say a single thing. Our ceremony and reception decor was perfect, my flowers and the flowers for our bridal party were perfect. ASG was amazing, professional, beautiful and the perfect florist to bring our rustic, simple Vermont wedding to life. Surrounded by Vermont's lush wilderness, we needed simple accents to help bring all the different elements to life and A Schoolhouse Garden made it all happen. We came in with a low budget and no real definitive ideas but from the very beginning, Nancy and the whole ASG team was willing to work with within our price range, bring ideas forward, help us determine what was important and was flexible to some last minute additions/changes. Both before the wedding and on the day, one conversation with ASG made us feel like it was one less thing to worry about, and that's all we could ask for. We couldn't recommend them enough.

Where do I even start?! Nancy is outstanding in every way. When I got to Nancy's shop in VT for our first meeting I immediately fell in love with her work. I brought images of designs I liked and she turned my ideas into a dream come true. Every floral detail was perfect. Nancy is exceptional at what she does. Less than 3 weeks ago, we worked with Nancy from A Schoolhouse Garden for our wedding at the Skinner Barn, also in Waitsfield. We were and still are so grateful to have worked with her and her team; they were our first choice when we were looking for florists. Nancy was intuitive, respectful, and brilliant to work with. She worked with us throughout our planning process to help actualize our vision. Her familiarity with our venue also complemented our experience as she was able to support us in making decision about what we needed from previous weddings she had done at the barn. We did not have a huge budget for flowers but what A Schoolhouse Garden was able to do with our budget was incredible. The flower arrangements were stunning and deeply reflective of our vision and discussions. We received many compliments on them and thoroughly enjoyed them for a week after the wedding!

We hired A Schoolhouse Garden to be our florist for our 5/20/17 wedding and we couldn't have been happier! Leading up to the big day, they were great and helping us shape our vision for flowers, as we didn't even know where to start! They were very flexible with us, providing several different quotes for different flower options as we tried to determine what we wanted and what we could afford. On the day of the flowers were stunningly beautiful and the staff that they sent to set up were very helpful and attentive. They complimented our handmade centerpieces with moss and single blooms in small vases, making sure everything was set up perfectly so we didn't have to worry! They also made the effort to seek us out the day after to give us all of the left over flowers in neat arrangements so that our close friends and family could take home a piece of the day. I'd highly recommend A Schoolhouse Garden to anyone!

What can I say about Nancy. My husband and I got married in October 2016 and met with 3 other florists. After meeting with Nancy, we knew she had understood our vision. She did an amazing job with everything. From bouquets to decorating the barn to ceremony flowers! I look at pictures and it is like she was able to see my dreams and make them reality! Nancy is so easy to work with and even though she was going through some personal things during our planning process, made herself available to talk things over. You can truly see all of the love and dedication Nancy and her team put into their work.

Working with Nancy was a true pleasure. I was in love with her flowers and wish we could have saved them all!

We got married in Waitsfield on July 30 this year and Nancy and her team of florists were wonderful. They really helped us create a 'vision' for the day, and took care of centerpieces, ceremony flowers/arbor and flowers for the reception, and hair flowers. They all had such amazing attention to detail and great taste. The flowers were beautiful, exactly what I wanted. So lovely to work with and highly recommend!

We were extremely disappointed with Nancy from start to finish. She was difficult to communicate with and always made me feel like I was bothering her when I was reached out of asked for guidance while making decisions with other decor for my wedding. Many emails and conversations with her started with her telling me how busy she is, I definitely did not feel like I was important. The day of the wedding Nancy was cold to myself and my husband, my bouquet was pathetic and the table arrangements were puny for the amount of money that we spent. I tried many times to get pictures so I could have a clearer idea of what things would look like the day of the wedding but never received them and I was completely underwhelmed by what we ended up. I would not recommend at all.

Nancy is amazing!! I do not know much about flowers, but Nancy was able to help talk me through what I liked about certain arrangements and what I didn't love about others. We spoke on the phone a few times, and were able to meet in person once. I showed her pictures and gave her a direction I wanted to go in, and everything came out AMAZING. I got so many compliments on the bouquets and center piece arrangements. Everything turned out even more beautiful than I anticipated. Outstanding florist! Nancy and the staff were amazing to work with from the get-go! I had a specific request to use my family's heirloom peonies in my arrangements and they were more than accommodating; my blooms were showcased fabulously in our bouquets and in all of our arrangements. Nancy was there the day of the wedding and through the ceremony to make sure everything looked perfect. I was blown away by the gorgeous and creative arrangements and the service that I received! We also had small mercury glass votives that gave our tables an elegant simplicity. I would recommend A Schoolhouse Garden to any bride in the Waitsfield area!!

I wasn't the type of bride that wanted a lot of flowers, I really only wanted candles everywhere with minimal flower touches. Nancy heard my preferences and decorated the venue perfectly! I'm sure there's a bunch I missed but there were so many small touches, like putting candles and flowers in the Photo Booth! Everything she did was amazing!

Nancy at A Schoolhouse Garden did such a beautiful job with the flowers at our wedding. We had bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and she did our ceremony space with non-flower decor. Meeting with Nancy made me feel so confident that our wedding was going to be picture perfect. The ASG shop in Waitsfield is adorable, and Nancy guided us through choosing flowers and decor with her professional expertise. She totally understood what we wanted and had great suggestions, and showed me different types of flowers and designs as we talked to make selections from. She designed a color story board with fabric swatches, which I thought was so cool! The flowers that day were beautiful, delivered with plenty of time for everyone to get ready. That night when I saw our venue all made up with the flowers I was so happy, it was beyond my expectations. My bouquet and the tables had dark greens, whites, blush, grays and deep burgundy. I can't wait to get our pictures back so I can look at my flowers in all their fresh glory once again. We had lanterns, candles, and pinecones as our ceremony decor, and after the ceremony they switched the lanterns to light the walkway outside. The next morning at our farewell breakfast, we found that they had re-potted our flowers for centerpieces at our breakfast tables, and for us and guests to take! I couldn't believe how above and beyond they went. I am so thankful we had Nancy and the Schoolhouse Garden team as our florist. They transformed our venue and made it so magical.

Absolutely amazing. My husband and I got married at Shelburne Farms and couldn't have imagined a better scene than Nancy put together. She knows the venue inside and out and made every little touch perfect. From my flowers to the archway for our ceremony to the walkway shrubs, it was divine. I felt as if I was in a secret garden. I would safely say that I am not much of a "flower person." When it came to wedding planning, flowers were NOT my priority. That being said, I knew I wanted my wedding to be pretty! After doing a bit of research, I got in touch with Nancy Murray from A Schoolhouse Garden. She provided us with a form to complete to help her figure out what we were looking for ... this was helpful for me too because it forced me to make some decisions finally (mostly regarding budget and color scheme). After our initial "consult," she provided me with her design summary which included a beautiful depiction of several ideas that she had for the wedding ceremony and reception (largely pulled directly from my Pinterest page). The initial summary was even better than I could have envisioned myself. After this, we met at her quaint studio just outside of Stowe. It was here that I realized that I wasn't just hiring a florist ... I was hiring a truly skilled designer. From start to finish, she handled everything with the utmost professionalism. The bouquets that she put together were absolutely GORGEOUS. I was (still am) obsessed with the way my bridal bouquet turned out. I received so many compliments on it, and I couldn't have envisioned a prettier accessory. My jaw literally dropped when I entered the reception tent. The centerpieces came out EXACTLY how I envisioned ... literally a Pinterest-dream-come-true. I was so very impressed with Nancy's design execution. It truly was a pleasure working with her, and I am so thrilled with the way that everything came together on my wedding day ... I may consider myself more of a "flower person" after this :)

We got married Memorial Day Weekend-May 24, 2014. Nancy Murray of A Schoolhouse Garden is a kind and understanding florist. Upon first contact, Nancy and her assistant, Julia, send forms that you fill out to describe all the important elements of your wedding day, from the month, season, and your color scheme to the number of and meaning of members in your wedding party including any other important or special particulars that should be considered in the floral planning beginning. You provide her a vision of what you are looking for and she will be able to assemble and manage that for you. Since my husband, Chris, and I were both equally sharing in the planning of our wedding, at times it was tough to communicate whether we were on the same page or still in touch with the facets that were most important to each of us as well as us as couple, I am grateful for A Schoolhouse Garden’s exemplary character in handling our inquiries and questions. Nancy has orchestrated floral creations for events all over Vermont and even during times of inclement weather. Additionally, A Schoolhouse Garden has centerpiece, cocktail table floral details, cake flowers, and ceremony aisle floral details as options. Lanterns or floating arrangements above lights can be done. There are so many things to pick from! A few months in advance, a floral board was created for us to reference to see all the colors and ideas that we were contemplating for the wedding which I truly loved that she did this for us! And then of course you converse with the team and go from there. I knew I wanted a short (not drop), large, rounded bouquet with a tightly wrapped ribbon with pearls around it filled with roses, peonies, and ranunculi in ivory, soft blush, and faint yellow. My very heavy bouquet did have some thorns and dirty stems that weren’t fully covered in the ribbon which managed to get some dirt on my dress but overall was nice. I also am glad I had a separate tossing bouquet made which mimicked my bridal bouquet as I have the bridal bouquet at home dried out. The bridesmaid and mother bouquets as well as the groomsmen boutonnieres of white ranunculi and dogwood branch looked graceful and lovely (Chris had expressly requested the latter boutonnieres). I had really wanted the junior bridesmaid to carry a pomander (heck, she was the one who really wanted to wear a floral crown herself I did not suggest this at all) but I was told that the pomander and the crown are really preferred for flower girls so she had a petite version of the pink, blush, and yellow rose, ranunculi and gerrondo daisy which made up the bridesmaids bouquets. They all also had ribbons that dangled off of their bouquets in the wind. By and large I am happy with the quality of the flowers and that accommodations were made to have the flowers we really wanted for the wedding. There were slight variations on my bouquet that I would have wanted (more ribbon and tighter wrap going around the stems so no green at all would have been exposed) but I also really appreciated A Schoolhouse Garden’s crafting and artistry and Nancy’s efforts and interest in all the minutiae of our wedding. I know with a busy season and many picky brides and grooms and other business to attend to it sure is an art creating such pretty arrangements with each and every event.

Working with Nancy and A Schoolhouse Garden was a dream. She instantly understood the look I was trying to achieve. Through out my planning she guided me to beautiful and was thoughtful when cost was a concern. She made our venue breathtaking. I am so grateful to her and her staff.
