I had been in contact with this bakery for multiple weeks regarding a possible cake order for my upcoming wedding. I sent all of the info regarding delivery, time, date, location, etc. in my very first email to them. I had a design picked out, which they said they needed to change and simplify it. No reason given. I was okay with this, so we changed my ideas on what we wanted. After coming to a conclusion of what we wanted, they sent pricing with delivery fees included. Days later, they emailed me and said they could not deliver to my location due to the wedding being in the afternoon on a Friday. I asked if we could have the cake delivered in the morning instead, they said no. They recommended that I have DoorDash deliver my very pricy wedding cake. When communicating via email, it takes multiple days to get a response. I would not recommend. I would not recommend, very poor communication and poor customer service.

We were told these folks made the best-tasting cakes in town, and we were not disappointed. We had the Italian cake with amaretto vanilla and strawberry filling. It was so good the only cake leftover at the wedding were the slices we saved for our anniversary! (And my brother almost ate all of that.) I loved this design for our beach wedding, especially our initials in the "sand." They were also able to accommodate putting my grandparents' (very old) former topper on our slicing cake, which we really appreciated!

Do not book this bakery for any sort of celebration, especially if you live out of state. I had this amazing destination wedding planned which was put on hold due to COVID. The bakery generously let us postpone, as did every other vendor, but then my mother (who has Alzheimer's Dementia) got sicker faster than we had planned. I called the bakery asking to cancel 5 months in advance and asked for my money back, as my mother is now going to be in need of extended care, which is very expensive. They agreed to consider my request and email me their decision. The email was incredibly unprofessional and demeaning. Instead of just saying something along the lines of "I'm sorry but we will not be issuing a refund." they had the nerve to write a horrendous lengthy email back to me that ended with (I quote verbatim so forgive the typos.) "We have been reasonable, professional, and accommodating during this time, but will not be issing refund." It is not acceptable to just take the money for no services rendered. We never got a cake, they never had to actually make it, and we paid for the cake in full. I would understand if we cancelled last minute and they had already made the cake. However, 326 dollars for no services is atrocious. We were hoping that with current events and exigent circumstances there could be professionalism and good will, but after talking with management it appears not.

My daughter needed a vegan wedding cake. Thomas gave recommendations and they were perfect. The cake was delicious, beautiful, and delivered just as promised. They did an awesome job from start to finish.

WARNING!! If you have an order with this company for upcoming wedding or other event that that may be in jeopardy due to the COVID 19 pandemic, be sure to cancel ASAP. The owner, Thomas, is not taking the health and safety or legal concerns regarding COVID 19 seriously and will refuse to return any of your payment if you are within 30 days of the event. We were 3 weeks out from our wedding when federal and state mandates re: crowd sizes ended our plans. While other vendors were quite accommodating (issuing full refunds or returning payments and holding deposits), Thomas was not. After we asked that he return our payment save the 25 percent deposit, he demanded that we either continue on with the date (which would probably be illegal and makes me question how seriously he is implementing social distancing guidelines) or reschedule. We don't live in Florida and have several reasons why it is not possible for us to reschedule. He is not willing to deal fairly with customers and adjust to the gravity of this ongoing situation. Again, if you think you may need to CANCEL, do it right away to avoid a dispute with this man and protect your money.

So glad I got my three 9 inch cakes here for my wedding! They were everything I wanted and more! They were perfectly decorated for my boho theme and tasted amazing! I would highly recommend! :)

Our cake was arguably the best part of our wedding- we did a three tier, 'translucent' (think a naked cake with a schmear) amaretto cake with alternating layers of cannoli cream and raspberry coulis. It was beyond words!! We will be making return trips for anniversary cakes!

Absolutely go with this vendor! The cake was delicious and exactly what I was looking for! Everyone commented how delicious it was and how beautiful the wedding cake looked. We chose the "Brides on a Budget" option and it was perfect price for $$$$$ taste! 100% would recommend!

I highly recommend this vendor. I planned my wedding from out of state and I was nervous about the cake (since I couldn't do a tasting). The cake turned out beautiful and my families and friend agreed that it was the best cake they have ever had!

I found Thomas to be very dismissive when I sent my initial email about my wedding cake. When I told him it was a small wedding, he pretty much pushed me to the Brides on a Budget section and advised that I place my order at least 5 days before my wedding. Just because our wedding is small, does not mean we want a stock cake and not a custom design (which we more than willing to pay top dollar for). He lost our business very quickly despite the great reviews. We found another baker who was excited we are getting married and offered ideas right away. She congratulated us, asked our theme, and sent dozens of photos of potential designs. That is what a bride wants when choosing a baker. Not a perfunctory email basically saying your business isn't important and they can't be bothered to suggest ideas.

The groom's cake we requested from Mr. Brazen exceeded our expectations. Not only was the design original and our son-in-law touched by it but the cake was delicious and tasted like it was home baked. We would highly recommend him and use them again for another event.

My catering company, Sarasota Catering, recommended A Slice of Heaven to us. I worked with Thomas and Michelle on both my surprise groom's cake and tiered cupcake tower. They went above and beyond to make my vision a reality. They were quick to respond to all my questions and emails during the wedding planning process. Michelle was so patient through all my indecisiveness and had great suggestions and guidance. The groom's cake and cupcake tower both turned out incredible and I received tons of compliments on them (wish I could share pictures). Whatever ideas you have, they will do whatever it takes to deliver. I'm so happy I went with A Slice of Heaven for my wedding!

We had a small wedding (30 people) but big ideas for a cake. Thanks to the honesty of the baker we decided our "dream cake" wasn't going to look so amazing in the scaled down size we needed. We were able to work with them and come of with an equally dreamy cake, chocolate pour over the two layers accented with fresh berries and chocolate covered strawberries. When I arrived at the reception and saw the cake, I couldn't believe my eyes! It looked fake it was so beautiful. I was so glad they were honest with us and helped us get our NEW dream cake.

Tom and the staff at Slice of Heaven are phenomenal!! Our wedding cake was SO GORGEOUS.. decorated to PERFECTION with fresh flowers, scroll work, beading, and our personal cake topper! And of course...it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Designer Michele was FABULOUS to work with ~ I descibed what I envisioned ~ and WOW, the end result was way beyond anything I ever imagined ~ just beautiful!! AND she personally delivered it to our venue ~ now that's OUTSTANDING service!! The cake was a surprise for my husband, and after our Ceremony he kept asking.. "Did you see the cake?".. "Did you see the cake?!" He even mentioned it AGAIN today.. over a month after our wedding!! No kidding!! That's how much he loved it! Our friends gave us a little photo album of the pictures they took from our wedding- and guess what the first picture was? Nope, not us...it was THE CAKE!! LOL! Tom & Michele, I can't thank you enough for making all our Wedding Day dreams come true! I HIGHLY recommend A Slice of Heaven to anyone seeking THE BEST OF THE BEST in the area for your cake, cupcakes, or whatever you dream of for your special event ~ THEY ARE HEAVEN SENT!!

the groom and i are not cake people, but i found this place through our wedding venue and they had brides on a budget cake. i chose the flavor and one of the designs they had on their website. i never talked to anyone on the phone or went in for a tasting. i just sent an email, paid the really great price they asked for, and the cake appeared on my wedding day. it was absolutely gorgeous and i was blown away by how great it tasted. i could be byass because it was my wedding, but it was the best wedding cake i have ever had. usually wedding cakes and cupcakes are dry and the frosting is hard, but this cake was so good. it was moist and so freakin good! top notch quality for such a great price!

OMG!!! Amazing staff, so artistic, so YUMMY!! They made our grooms cake to look like a playstation controller and our wedding cake was georgeous!! I have found our new baker for whenever we need a cake!! You will not be disappointed!!

I had a blue lego cake made for my hubsand as his grooms cake. he was totally surprised and LOVED it! turned out just as i pictured it. great to work with very prompt in answering any questions i had.

I went to A Slice of Heaven about 2 1/2 weeks before my wedding but that didn't really matter. They told me they would get it done. I showed them pictures of different styles that I liked and they told me how expensive each would be. I didn't have time for a cake tasting so I chose from the pamphlet they provided me and Boy! you can't go wrong with any of those flavors! They made me a beautiful 3 tier cake with no tier the same. They also made me 50 delicious cupcakes - chocolate with strawberry filling and vanilla with Georgia peach filling. The cakes/cupcakes were INCREDIBLE! We were initially worried that we had ordered too much but all the different flavors were clearly a hit because we turned around and almost everything was gone. A Slice of Heaven crew knows how to get the job done with style and taste! They are definitely the best and I will definitely be coming to them for all occasions! They even cater!

I found A Slice of Heaven through my venue and their name says it all! OMG their cakes are unbelievable. We used their "Brides on a Budget" line and their was certainly nothing "budget" about our cake. Their name says it all!!! If they're not your first and only stop for cake, your tastebuds are dead!

Best wedding cake and cupcakes I have had in my entire life! Have the key lime flavor! It's to die for! The cake was gorgeous and unique. Just what I wanted. Very respectable place and will definitely recommend again and again!!

This place is better than all of the other cake places in quality of design and cake, plus the people that own it are a lot friendlier than the other main competition in Sarasota. During the tasting they went above and beyond to let me sample any creation I could think of, they spent as much time as I needed with me making sure my cake was perfect, and when it came to the wedding day they were great with communication, showed up on time, and delivered a DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL Cake. I would recommend that EVERYONE go there for their wedding cake!

A Slice of Heaven worked with us to create a beautiful and delicious wedding cake! They figured out how to attach our home made cake topper, placed the flowers beautifully, and delivered it to the venue right on time. On the business side - It was a bit strange that the cake tasting was only a few blobs of filling and a tiny bit of chocolate and vanilla cake, so you really couldn't tell what the final product would be like unless you bought a slice or a cupcake, if available. And when I called a few weeks before the event to pay the balance as directed in our initial meeting, I was rudely told that it should have been done weeks ago. So, they need to keep that policy consistent and not be rude to a customer that is calling to give them money per the contract! Otherwise though, the cake looked and tasted great! We chose one layer of vanilla with raspberry filling, and another of key lime with key lime filling. Guests loved it too!

Ok, I will start with the bad I guess. The cake really did not look much like the picture I sent them. It did look like other cakes I saw on their website, which is fine. I just wish they would have told me they couldn't do what I wanted and I would have picked another cake. I was planning my Florida wedding from Texas and never actually met with them in person,but a little more communication would've been nice. HOWEVER...the cake was still pretty, of course and was absolutely DELICIOUS! And that is way more important than if it looked exactly the way I wanted. I was even told by guests that it was the best cake they have ever had at a wedding.

Good cake!!! Thomas was wonderful to work with in picking out flavors and fillings. He helped us with designing the cake and listened to all our ideas. We had done three cake tastings before this one and after tasting thier cake we signed up on the spot. Our priorty was good cake and we found it!

Our cake was so nice. It was beautiful and delicious. It fit perfectly with our beach theme, and we got a ton of compliments on how good it tasted! We had marble with chocolate mousse filling and fondant icing.

Our cake was three layers: key lime with key lime filling, coconut with pina colada filling, and lemon with raspberry filling. It was DELICIOUS! Everyone raved about it--even asking if they could take some home. We did a cake tasting with Thomas and he was a total delight to work with--nice, knowledgeable, and funny. I brought in a picture of what I wanted our cake to look like and they totally delivered! We plan on visiting them again for our anniversary = )

The cake tasted awesome, but it was just not what I wanted. It was not what I ordered. After it was sliced and diced everyone loved it, and it tasted great, but I wish it had looked like what I wanted.

We did a key lime cake with a key lime filling and chocolate with a raspberry filling.The cake has four layers of cake and three layers of filling.And every bite was heaven.

I was very confident in A Slice Of Heaven as I had purchased amazing cakes from them two years in a row for my daughters 1st and 2nd Birthday. They put my ideas together well and I liked the look. However, I had fresh flowers added to the cake in which they cut too short....needless to say guests were fixing my cake until we cut it. Other than that it was okay but I don't think a cake that's falling apart is worth $500.

I don't normally eat cake so I let my fiancé pick the flavor and how it would look.....it turned out amazing! The flavor was soooo good...we got French vanilla with raspberry and they made it look just like the picture he gave them(only better) and I loved it!

A Slice of Heaven is absolutely the best! A Slice of Heaven really set the bar high for other bakeries for us. A slice of Heaven was the first bakery we went to, first of all we arrived 10 minutes before the bakery even opened and they unlocked the doors for us anyway.. Secondly, we were immediately invited to sit down by Thomas Brazen (manager) where he enthusiastically discussed what we wanted for a cake & how he could us the best price. Following that he served us an assortment of cakes and filings. We immediately liked A Slice of heaven but figured we should look at other bakeries nearby. However, we found the others to be rude and poor customer service skills. While other bakeries tried to convince us we would need a cake which served more than the number of guests, Slice of heaven convinced us to get a cake which serves just under the total count of guests. And this was perfect! We went with the smaller cake, everyone was talking about how beautiful it was and how great it tastes, there was plenty for everyone and we still were able to take the top tier home for our anniversary cake! I'm not a cake person at all but this cake was delicious!!!

We've been to several weddings where the cake was less than spectacular. So, for our wedding I made sure that our cake was going to be delicious. A Slice of Heaven made us a beautiful 3-tier cake that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our wedding guests told us it's the best cake they have ever had at a wedding! I couldn't agree more, it was PERFECT!

We decided against a cake and had individually packaged cupcakes. The flavor was key lime and they were so delicious; everyone raved about them. Slice of Heaven was very accommodating and professional. They delivered and set up on time and exactly as we had discussed.

We used A Slice of Heaven for our wedding cake and it was amazing! Not only was the cake delicious, it was also beautiful. I was impressed with how A Slice of Heaven dedicates their work to making the cakes taste as incredible as they look. I was most impressed with how they are able to make buttercream frosting look as smooth as fondant because it tastes better. Love them and would recommend them to anyone!
