A Special Event DJ & Photobooth

This is the second time we’ve hired A Special Event DJ! They are the best at what they do. The planning tool that they have the couple use is awesome. Key songs you want played, and songs you don’t (lol), plus lots more. They handed the ceremony and reception. Our DJ kept the dance floor full all night long! We had a smaller wedding, but you wouldn’t know that by how many people were dancing! We also used the open Photo Booth! It was so much fun watching everyone get their pictures taken. They print off a photo strip for the guests and one for a photo book that they put together as the night progresses, then they also give the couple a thumb drive with all the photos. Anyone can play a playlist on their phone, but it takes a professional to make the reception a success! You will be very happy if you decide to hire A Special Event DJ!

They were so helpful and knowledgeable, and really went with the flow on our big day after a few schedule goofs. Our DJ stayed polite and professional throughout the whole night

We could not recommend A Special Event DJ and Photobooth enough! They are incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and great at communication, making planning easy. They were very quick with replies when communicating and their customer service is top-notch! On the day of, they did such a great job going above and beyond. Everyone was mic'd at an appropriate volume and fade outs for the first dances were smooth. The communication throughout the wedding day was also great! DJ Mara did an awesome job with reading the crowd and playing songs that young and old could (and did) dance to. The photobooth attendant was also super sweet and did a great job assisting a lot of the little ones at our wedding. Overall, they made the sound, DJ, and photobooth aspects of our wedding so stress-free and did a great job making it the best day ever!

We booked A Special Event DJ last minute for our wedding and I am so glad we did. DJ Cody did a phenomenal job, the day would not have been the same without him. He had everything set up and ready to go, he was checking in with not only us but the other vendors as well making sure the timeline was flowing smoothly. He was very respectful and all of his announcements were very clear and kept people informed. He even reminded the whole wedding party when it was time for speeches and went outside to gather guests for us. 10/10 incredibly impressed with DJ Cody and A Special Event!

A Special Event DJ was our wedding DJ vendor - who was fantastic! We decided to go with them because of how friendly and knowledgable they were of the wedding industry (not just the music industry). They are well equipped to provide top notch service and their DJs prioritize your needs (and schedule) day of!

We hired a special even DJ for our wedding in August. Cody did an amazing job! He was always double checking with me to make sure we were on time and validated my choices. And when my groomsmen wanted to be introduced as their nicknames, he ran it by me first. My family and friends love to dance and we were on the dance floor all night! Thank you so much!

We hired ASDJ for our wedding this September and they were great! Tim was responsive and made sure that we had a solid plan for the day of our wedding day. We were lucky enough to get Cody as our DJ and we LOVED him. He was on top of everything and made the reception run smoother than we could have imagined. He worked well with our Wedding Coordinator along with us and our guests to ensure everyone was having a great time. Would 10/10 recommend Cody for your event!

I used ASDJ for their photo booth. They were professional, communicative and the attendant (whose name I cannot remember for the life of me) was super sweet. The book they put together for us is amazing and I really appreciate the thumb drive! The only draw back (and this really isn’t their fault) is that greenery backdrop I paid extra for doesn’t really show in the pictures because of the lighting in the venue. Thank you, Tim and crew!

We hired a Special Event DJ for our wedding this July, and it was worth every penny. This is a well-run business. They fit you with a DJ that will work best for your wedding and your vibe. Communication was great. Tim, the owner, answered all of my questions (there was a lot, he actually complimented me on them) in the beginning, and was very professional. Their online portal is a little confusing and I would have preferred to get the forms and download them and fill them out that way, but I found out a little too late. Anyway, they did sound for both our ceremony and reception. Huge shout out and props to CODY, our DJ, who I would recommend to ANYONE and EVERYONE! I swear he was more than a DJ - it felt like he was our night of event coordinator and thank God because my ADHD brain was NOT going to get anything done in the moment (too happy? Too much wine…). Cody was really fantastic. I didn’t know we needed a pre-party phone call because I’m pretty laid back, but it ended up being such a great choice! We got to know Cody (who you’ll just want to be friends with after your wedding), but he also got some things cleared up and made sure he knew what songs to play when, how to say our weird family names, and what kind of vibe we were going for. Night of - I underestimated some of our guests. I thought it was going to be very low key, but thankfully Cody and a few of our more extroverted friends got people on the dance floor. Thanks Cody, for not making too much fun of us slow dancing the chicken dance to “Groovy Kind of Love.” It’s a New Girl reference. We’re obnoxious super-fans…. Not the kind that has t-shirts and wall decor, but who just spends half the day speaking to one another in New Girl quotes. Anyway, I could go on and on, but in short - hire them for your wedding.

Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness We had the best experience, we utilized their day of coordination, Missi was a life saver! She was a wonderful go between with the vendors and saved this mom and bride so many steps…let us enjoy the day/evening but also checked in when she thought we should make “the call” on questions…everything went so smoothly, was just perfect! Now the DJ service with Tim was also exceptional, he kept our crowd going all night mixed in lots of different music, had the bride/groom favorite list and our dance floor was packed! Can’t thank the Bryan’s enough and would recommend their services to all!

Best DJ in the area!!!! They will not disappoint. I was super impressed with how they operated. They care so much about your wedding timeline and did a great job keeping everything on schedule. When planning, they have a portal where you can mark songs as “green” meaning you love the song and want it played, “yellow” meaning maybe play this song, and “red” do not play. This helps them get your vibe. And boy did they get our guests vibe!!!! Our dance floor was amazing thanks to them!

I have nothing but good things to say about A Special Event DJ!! We had DK as our DJ and he was honestly the best DJ I have seen. He was super easy to work with and kept people on dance floor! He really helped make our reception one we will never forget. I highly recommend DK for any upcoming event!

Tim and the A Special Event DJ team were so great to work with! They were so helpful leading up to the big day & answering any questions. Loved working with their online planning tools & they provided sample ceremony / agenda docs to make sure you've thought of everything you'll need music for and examples. Riley DJ'd our wedding and was great - he did a great job of getting people on the dance floor, and was a great announcer! Highly recommend!

WOW what a party!!!! I cannot recommend Tim and ASEDJ enough. We had the pleasure of having Josh DJ our wedding and it was a blast. He went above and beyond for us, Josh even helped bussel my wedding dress! Josh and Tim were so easy to work with and super helpful. THANK YOU so much for everything!!!

Jared dj-ed our wedding the other weekend and did an excellent job. He was in communication with me beforehand to talk through all details, and did a great job of reading the dance floor and choosing music to keep it fun and energetic. He also went out of his way during the night to find and play a song my MOH requested from our childhood. Very pleased with the service!

This company is by far the best DJ around. My husband and I did photos after ceremony. So our bridal party and us were not able to have some adult beverages, while the music was playing at the cocktail party, Caleb and Tim brought out pitchers of beers and cups outside while we were doing photos. Talk about service. They were sooo fun and engaging! Thank you. The bridal Party was telling me that you guys are the best DJs out there

My wife and I booked ASEDJ for our November 2019 wedding and we could not have been more pleased with the result. Unfortunately we don't remember our specific DJs name, but I can only assume all of their DJs are just as professional and talented as he was! He was able to work with us the day of to figure out some last minute details (exact time of speeches/announcements and such), and even had some good suggestions on doing our reception entrance that we incorporated. The music was great and there were people dancing all night; we could not have put together a better playlist ourselves!

Couldn't say enough good things about A Special Event DJ and PhotoBooth!! The planning process was so smooth and easy, the staff was great about checking in multiple times before the event to make sure everything was good, they were flawless on the day of the event - on time, never any technical issues, had the schedule down perfectly and kept in contact with us nicely to make sure we were happy with everything, their set up was super nice and professional, and I loved that we could pick our own music ahead of time. 10/10 recommend!

For our wedding we were lucky enough to have Cody be our DJ! Cody did such a wonderful job working with us the day of as a few things had to be moved around, was extremely receptive to our vision and feel for the night, and didn't hesitate to get the party started. He was fun to work with, brought so much personality to our reception, and many of our guests still talk about how much fun they had. Many didn't want to leave the dance floor even when the night was done! Cody played all of the music we had requested, all first dance songs went off without a hitch. This was such a feat because I picked acoustic, off-the-wall artists for a few of our dances. He made sure to have the tracks and everything was just as I had hoped. If you are looking for a great DJ service (they also have photobooths and other options!) A Special Event is worth looking in to! They are very well managed and organized, and flexible!

A Special Event did an amazing job! You had access to their online database before the wedding, so you were able to leisurely fill out your day-of schedule, music requests, along with special dances. The day of the wedding was a total blur, but it seems like I blinked and suddenly they were there and had everything set up (which looked very professional and elegant). We got both the DJ service and the photo booth (which I highly highly highly recommend - everyone loved it). The DJ did a great job of keeping things moving and getting people on the dance floor, but also stepping back and letting people enjoy the music and have fun. I honestly can't recommend them enough!

A special event DJ was so easy to work with from everything being done via email to working with us the day of our wedding!

We used A Special Event DJ for our wedding reception and the service was fantastic! Very detailed, and allowed us to personalize things exactly how we wanted. Our guests had a great time, an the dance floor was full all night. They were also extremity professional, and easy to work with!

The before planning for the wedding day with this company was very well put together and structured! The DJ himself was super fun, nice and just plan awesome and played great music! 10/10 rating from us! Great DJ to make our wedding day great!

Pre-wedding planning was easy with the online system and a meeting with Ellie. We had music for the ceremony and for the reception. On the whole we were very happy but somethings could have been a bit smoother. The only thing that I think that could have been better was more coordination between the DJ and us for the ceremony prior to the event as the music was noticeably off for entrances and exits (music going too long or not starting at the right time or for awhile) . We had a really young DJ so I think that was part of it (less experienced perhaps).

If I could give these guys 6/5 stars I absolutely would. my wedding was a dream and my team was so helpful and professional and fun to work with! Nick DJed and Haley ran my photo booth. They both did an incredible job of keeping the dance floor packed and keeping me in the loop when something was needed. I was even surprised by a photobooth scrap book at the end of the night! I just really vibed with these guys and I would 100% take these 2 again in a heartbeat for any future events!

This was by far our best decision! The music was great and our DJ, Don, was phenomenal! He went out of his way to help out and made sure our dance floor was full the whole night!!

I believe we had Riley as our DJ from ASEDJ and he did amazing! He did a great job accommodating the crowd, adjusting to our last minute changes, and keeping the night moving along in the best of ways! I can’t thank him enough for helping our reception to be one to remember! Highly highly recommend!

A Special Event DJ was booked a year and a half before the reception and had been recommended by the venue. Make sure you ask for a specific DJ when you book, as we felt that we received a DJ that filled in at the last minute. You could not hear the DJ when he announced the wedding party. The only other thing he said all night was to announce a missing purse. We asked him to turn up the sound system for the speeches, and he said that he couldn't. An apology from the company would have been nice.

ASEDJ was so easy to work with. I had decided to change our first dance song the week of our wedding to a song that was only available on Amazon music. Instead of telling me this wasn’t possible, they let me know exactly what was needed so they could play the song off my phone. There was no awkward silence between songs and Tim kept everyone dancing out on the dance floor!

We used ASE DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception in Ankeny, IA. They were great. Accommodated every song request, helped with timelines, communicated with the vendors, and were just all in all amazing to work with. Highly recommend them!

A Special Event was amazing. They took all our suggestions and our dance floor was hopping all night. They were available every step of the way to answer questions. We live in Iowa City and they were willing to drive from Des Moines to Williamsburg to meet with us initially. I would choose them again!!

We used A Special Event Dj & Photo Booth for our wedding. We could not hve asked for a better DJ company. They were so easy to work with and created a fun environment for all our guests! The DJ had most of the crowd on the dance floor having a good time. The DJ made an awesome playlist from a list of artists we enjoy and made the celebration even more special for us. Highly recommend this company for any special event you are planning.

We had Dustin for our wedding and he was amazing! We had provided him minimal guidance and he still was able to provide smooth transitions throughout the evening. When he was unsure of something, he would politely ask me (the bride) or someone else but it was not a bother. Everyone loved the music and he took the songs we wanted to play (and didn't want played) into consideration. The uplighting was also nice as our venue was pretty dark with the lights dimmed. I have been to a handful of weddings where ASE DJ was used and have loved every experience, including ours. I would choose them again any day!

We had been told the DJ (Micah) would contact us a week before the wedding but we never heard anything from him until 5 mins before the reception started. He was missing people out of the bridal party for introductions and didn’t have the songs. None of that compares to when they lost our scrapbook from the photo booth which had what everyone wrote along with all the picture strips. DJ claimed he “gave it to someone in a tux” and no one remembers even seeing the DJ give it to anyone. 3 months later and it never showed up. Amanda claimed it was basically our fault as she described it as a “pretty wild night.” Dumb decision to decide to randomly “give” the scrapbook to someone at the end of the night and didn’t bother to let us know. All the DJ could remember was giving the book to “someone in a tux.”

My husband and I had such a wonderful wedding day and a huge part of that is music! I loved being able to fill out my own profile before the wedding and set out the time schedule and music during my own free time so that I did not have to rush and think about it when I had other things to do as the day got closer. I loved being able to pick whatever song I found on Youtube and ASEDJ did the rest! A huge thank you in particular to Josh. He was a DJ for two of our close friends and he did an incredible job. Everyone had a blast at both weddings and he had the dance floor packed! We knew after those weddings we needed him to do our wedding too. We were able to request him, and he did a marvelous job, just like we knew he would! I had absolute faith that Josh would be able to run the music without any issues, but what I really appreciated was how well he worked with not only me and my husband the day of the wedding but also our photographers! They talked together to make sure their time schedule was the same so that when he changed songs for dances or announced us into the reception that the photographers would be there to capture it all. That made me feel so confident that I chose the right DJ and comforted me the day of. Even when we switched up times to end the reception, Josh was there to make sure the music was playing, people were on the dance floor, and having a good time! A few other things I would like to highlight about Josh are – - When we ended our reception an hour early, he not only let me check the remaining songs that would play and approve, he worked with the Glen Oaks staff to get the sparklers and lighters out, and helped organize people so that our wedding guests were ready to go when the last song started playing. - Our ceremony was outside and windy so he could not put the covers on the speakers. It was also too windy to put them on the speakers in the veranda. Once the wind died down after the ceremony he ran back to put the covers on the speakers so that they looked nicer. This was just a great touch and really showed that he actually cared about our day and wanted to do the best he could for us. Definitely made us feel special! - Josh called me a few days before the wedding to go over any questions he had, name pronunciations and to clarify anything I had left blank. He asked what the wedding colors were so he could match his lights with our suits and dress, everything he did was so special and catered to our day. - We had a large group of friends hanging out in the back not dancing and he went and got them on the dance floor! - Every time we made a change to our plan on the wedding day (no money dance, short anniversary dance, ending the reception an hour early) he flowed everything seamlessly like that is what was planned all along! - I even gave him a particular time to the minute and second in the song I chose for our reception entrance song and asked that the party and our names be announced by then so that the chorus would play as we walked in and he did it… Perfectly! I could go on and on, but overall I am very impressed with ASEDJ and especially Josh. I could not thank him enough for all he did and making our day as special as he could! I appreciate all the little things he did. I only get one wedding day and I wanted it to be perfect, and he helped make that happen. :)

I cannot say enough how awesome the whole experience with a special event dj was. The dance floor was packed all night by guests of all ages. They had a great mix of old music, new music, and everything in between. There was never a dull moment. The lighting was awesome and was set up well. The photo booth was a hit as well. I would recommend them for anyone that wants to have an absolute BLAST at their wedding. No one was ready for the night to be over!

Dustin from A Special Event DJ was excellent! He kept everyone engaged and the event running smoothly, we especially appreciated that he expertly filtered through guest song requests. ASEDJ's website and planning tools made it all very easy coordinate. Great company but request Dustin specifically if you can!

Their website system makes planning really easy and we had great conversations with the DJ Tim before the wedding. Our dance floor was packed all night. The DJ did take requests which meant music we're not into was played but we also appreciate that the dance floor was never empty. They also stuck solid to our do not play list which we greatly appreciated. Great price and definitely recommend.

Best DJ ever! Quick to respond and extremely friendly. Our DJ was Dylan and he was so much fun. He even let me karaoke at my own wedding - he was the best! Very easy going and got the crowd dancing all night. From one bride to the next, I highly recommended them for your future event! :)

A Special Event DJ was absolutely fantastic. First of all, they were very accommodating when we met to talk over and plan the event. Their website is so helpful, and allowed us to plan out most of our ceremony whenever we had time, and they made sure to follow up with any questions they had so everything was finalized the way we wanted it to be two weeks before the wedding. That was great, because I did not have to worry at all about it leading up to the big day! My husband and I were also more particular than most couples in the music we wanted played at our wedding (nothing explicit or vulgar), and they were incredibly accommodating -- the music at the reception ended up being exactly what we wanted. It was also just a super fun wedding reception, with friends and family dancing into the night! The DJ was great at announcing and streamlining the reception, was very respectful, and I wasn't stressed about a single moment while I was there. I would highly recommend them!!!

Awesome! We had Elijah as our DJ for the night and he was great. He managed to keep people dancing for our semi-reception at Glen Oaks on the hottest day of the year. Their website allows you to fully plan out the entire reception, and select songs for a must play and do not play list. Ellie will assist in reviewing and planning the reception timeline, she will answer any question you have at all! She's great to work with! The only hiccup we had was Elijah's laptop did crash on him, but this was not a big deal at all, as he had a back up laptop ready and waiting. I would definitely recommend ASE DJ!!

The person who we had our initial consultation with was awesome, very prepared, answered all of our questions before we even asked, and really he his stuff together! The dj the night of our wedding was pretty disappointing. We he provided more than 3 hours of "must play" and more of the "play if you can" on top of that. Only about half of what she played seemed to come from our list.

Every step along the way, ASE was a breeze to work with, and super helpful! They made sure every detail was thought of and were open to all of our ideas and visions for our wedding & reception! Our DJ was super professional & fun (sorry-forgot his name) & the photo booth attendant was so great with all of our guests - especially all of the kids! Our memory book is awesome & I guess you can tell that people had a great time when they are writing things like "so much fun at your wedding!" & "best. wedding. ever!" We found ASE DJ at a wedding forum, and then were referred to them by friends who had used them. They were amazing to work with from the start. Quick to respond to our questions via email or phone, and helped us plan our ceremony and reception. Everyone on their team was super helpful & the DJ at our reception was awesome! The person who helped plan our event (can't remember her name) even stopped in that night to make sure everything was going great and congratulate us. The photo booth was a big hit with everyone & our memory book will is so fun! Definitely recommend to anyone for their wedding!

You will be so happy if you read this review and ask for DJ and MC Kelsey, and Photo Booth experts, Kim and Korbi! First, I must commend Kelsey’s respect shown by honoring the music choices made by the Bride and Groom. So often not the case with DJs. I was pleased with her provision of a great atmosphere through a good mix of music at a volume that was comfortable for everyone...even those seated closest to the dance floor. How often have you been able to say that after leaving a wedding dance?! Kelsey has a personal yet professional, enthusiastic, warm and refined MC style. Here’s the best example of her ability to think on her feet: When I suddenly realized where she was going with the couple’s dance, I dashed over to her and explained that the Bride’s grandmother had fallen that morning so could not be on the dance floor. Kelsey knew just what to do. She told me to get her into a wheelchair and get her over there! This beautiful grandmother suddenly found herself with her husband center-stage. There she responded to Kelsey’s questions with grace: they had recently celebrated 60 years of marriage! And, without missing a beat, she shared her advice for a long and happy marriage. The Bride’s grandmother was a beaming. I think we all were. I visited the Photo Booth only briefly, at my granddaughter’s request, and am so happy I did! I had thought of a photo booth [only!] as entertainment. But it’s also a fun guest book! I highly recommend you choose this option from ASE DJ, too! Worth every penny! A large booth that holds up to ten! Great equipment, two efficient professionals, fun mementos for guests, and a very personal and fun keepsake for the Bride and Groom. Well done, Kim and Korbi! The planning tools that they provide on the website are awesome.... But don't spend too much time using them. I spent a lot of time picking out songs for my "must play" playlist, but then hardly any of those songs were played at the reception. We also used the photobooth that they have, which was one of our favorite parts of the entire day! The DJ was very nice and everything went smoothly... I just wish more of my songs would have been played.

our specific disc jockey did awesome! he played all the songs we wanted and took all requests. he also seemed to be enjoying himself during the event which I have never seen before. at the end they gave us a cd with all our special songs on it, and a note saying to hold onto it and listen to it when we are going through rough times in the future.

We loved our experience with A Special Event DJ! Our guests had a blast and stayed on the dance floor all night! I absolutely loved having Willis be our Dj at the wedding!! He kept the dance floor going the entire night. He took request from people and listened to what we wanted! Bryan and missy were great to work with throughout the entire planning. Their online tools make it so easy to plan the ceremony and reception. ASE DJ was actually our second DJ we hired. Our first backed out... just two months before the wedding. But, I couldn't have been happier with the way it turned out! They were great to work with, and went above and beyond what they were required to do to make sure that I was 100% happy with their service. They exceeded my expectations! Their online schedule, while confusing at first, turned out to be so helpful. I laid out the schedule for the day, songs that I wanted, and so on over the course of a couple weeks. Then, they called me to walk through it and make sure that every song I wanted was played, and they even had to purchase/find a few songs that they did not have. A couple were not easy to get a hold of, but they meant a lot to my groom, family, and I and they made sure I had exactly what I wanted. Not only did they go above and beyond, they were flexible, so fun to work with and were great at getting the crowd going!

A Special Event DJ provided wonderful service for my wedding reception! My DJ was experienced, approachable, and knew how to get guests involved. The online planning tools were fantastic as well! Allowed us to work on song preferences and the order of the reception little bits at a time, making it a little less overwhelming with all the other planning! Overall great experience!!!

Played great music at our reception. We gave a list of desired songs and songs we disliked and they did a great job of putting together a playlist to match our style. DJ was really good at keeping guest entertained and was a lot of fun.

We used ASE DJ for our wedding and could not be happier about our choice! We booked the value package with them, that included DJ & Photo Booth. All of our guests kept mentioning how fun the reception was - they really enjoyed the photo booth & the DJ kept everything running smoothly. Dylan was an absolutely AMAZING dj. He was everything (and more) we could have asked for on our wedding day. To provide specifics, he "saved the day" by finding music to play for my slideshow after I came to him in a state of panic when I was told the music wasn't working on my slideshow. His calmness set the mood for the rest of the evening and I am so grateful for that! Our guests had such an awesome evening, they didn't want to leave! Dylan was gracious enough to play a few "encore" songs while he was packing up and he received an applause at the end of the evening. He worked with me throughout the evening for song requests and announcements. He knew exactly how to handle each situation that arose. We received many, many comments on how excellent our DJ was. I would highly recommend Dylan and A Special Event DJ!

Our dj was nice but I really don't think she did a good job. We had a list of songs to play that would have filled up 2 hours or her time (pretty easy for her) but she didn't even play half of them. There were a few songs we dedicated to others and she only played 2 of them when there were like 5. She played a couple popular dance songs when the room started cleaning out. She started playing all the single ladies for the bouquet toss but didn't announce that is what we were doing so I had to ask her to announce it. Of course like most dj's she didn't play enough slow songs. I just wasn't the impressed.

A Special Event DJ and Dustin (our specific DJ) were great to work with! They made this process so easy and helped us plan the reception as well as special request songs (and do not playlist)! They meet with us right before the wedding to introduce our DJ, Dustin who was great and upbeat. Dustin handled all of the details for our reception and kept us on schedule even though we were a little late due to weather. Our guests loved the music and I love that the sound system was lit with our wedding color!

Ask for Dustin...he knows how to set the right mood for cocktails and dinner, is a skilled master of ceremonies, and keeps the dance floor going all night! He did a wonderful job, and ensured everyone - from the kiddos to the grandparents - made it to the dance floor and had a fun night.

My husband and I were very particular about what types of music we wanted vs. didn't want for our wedding reception. Before and during the wedding A Special Event worked with us on a personal level to make sure all our selections were perfect. The DJs were very professional, friendly, fun, and flexible. The music, up-lighting, and service were perfect. The dance floor was full of people from the first song to the last, from babies to grandparents. Getting the right DJ can make or break a reception, and we would recommend A Special Event every time!

Great online site to select songs, they had/got all the songs we wanted. Loved their lights/speakers. The DJ we had was a younger guy and didn't do much to get the guests dancing, but was good about taking requests about what songs the guests wanted to dance to. Would recommend them to a friend.

We had such a great experience with this DJ. They were very professional and helped us plan our wedding music. They did a great job as an MC and their equipment was very beautiful!

We had A Special Event DJ for our DJ and photo booth. The DJ, Dustin, was great to work with and he played all of the music we wanted and none of the stuff we didn't. He was upbeat and a GREAT emcee. Kim, our photo booth attendant was awesome! She was great with our guests and everyone loved taking pictures. We love the photo album she made with all of the photo strips! I loved having this company be a part of our special day! I would hire them again in a heart beat!

This company provides great services. Our DJ Dustin did a fantastic job helping to create a great night. We are definitely be happy to recommend this company and Dustin to people in Des Moines in the future. They worked with our schedule and were very helpful in planning a great reception. In my opinion the service before the big day could have been better. I sent them a special request and they never emailed me back. When I would email them, whoever would email me back had no idea what was going on with my event (too many people responding) but on the day the Dj was great besides the fact he didn't play many of the songs I asked but the crowd really enjoyed it.

Our DJ experience was good. The owners of this company are very nice and friendly. Helpful in setting up the timeline of the evening and picking songs to play (or not to play). They have a number of djs on hand each weekend and if a life event comes up on your wedding, there is always a back up dj. Our DJ was nice and did a good job picking songs to keep the party going. Only critic would be to announce more of what was going on regarding speeches and during the dinner portion. I was happy with our choice to go with A Special Event DJ.

We hired them for our Wedding reception. They did a great job. Tim was amazing in answering our questions when making the decision of what DJ and photo booth to use. Dustin was a great DJ who showed good experience with time management and played great music that kept people dancing non-stop! The photo booth was a huge hit with props and the photo strips looked great. We even used a picture of our actual wedding rings as the photo strip header!! Overall fantastic company and job done by everyone involved!! Highly recommend!

I liked working with this company from the beginning. Always professional and helpful. I very rarely give 5 star reviews which is why I am giving them 4 stars. With that said I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know. Tim was great to work with and It was nice to see him "pop in" on my wedding day to make sure everything was going smoothly. Our DJ was very fun and professional, and made sure everyone was having a good time. Good value, good company, good people.

The music selection was good and Tim was awesome and willing to work with whatever we decided to do. I gave them a four star rating because the kid who DJ'ed at our reception rolled his eyes at me like he didn't think I was serious when I told him I needed to postpone the bouquet and garter toss because I had accidentally left my garter at the hotel and needed someone to go grab it quick. Accidents and last minute switches happen when you don't have a PA who does her job. He also didn't have the updated schedule and kinda argued with me about when the wedding party song was to be played. He could have been more polite and understanding. We also had the photo booth at our reception which was a huge hit and everybody loved it!

Their passion for their work and professionalism shows in everything they do from the moment you inquire to the very last dance at your event. I have worked with this vendor countless times professionally and they were also my husband and I's 1st choice for our own wedding. With all the choices one has to make while wedding planning, they were always very organized and patient with the decisions we were making. Tim, I want to thank you and your DJ for the amazing job you did at our daughter’s wedding. Not once did your DJ miss a cue or act unprofessionally…but you could tell he was still having fun! All the names he had to read were said correctly, and some were pretty strange names. We had the dance floor filled the whole night. Friends that typically never dance were out on the floor. All our guests had a blast. If you ever need a reference I would be happy to talk to anyone. Thank you!

The person I had had no personality, monotone voice. When he introduced us he had no personality nothing. We made a playlist online and they did not play any of the songs we wanted and they were on their list of choices! They wouldn't play some songs because it would "ruin their repuation". Even tho they had the songs on their lists of choices! When he was introducing us he got 3 of the 10 names wrong first and last.price was ridiulous!

These DJs knew how to run a great party!

I met with an employee from this company a couple weeks before my wedding. We went over the entire ceremony and reception schedule. I informed when to transition music for different parts of the reception. The dj that was scheduled for my wedding had to ask me after each part of the reception when to play the next song. I also made a do not play list (5 songs) and each of those songs was played. It wasn't a horrible experience, but wasn't great, either.

I had such a wonderful experience with this company - they were so easy to work with, and were always available via phone or email if I had any questions. Our DJ for our reception (Dustin) was amazing, and helped us have an incredible night. Very receptive to requests and helped us keep track with our schedule for the evening!

These guys did an awesome job at my wedding! I had a second sound system for my outdoor ceremony, and one for inside at the reception. The set up that they had inside wasn't just a table with their equipment on it, they had the table dressed in a white cover along with two large pillars that they put lights under so that when they sun goes down and lights go out, it really glows! Also rented the photo booth which was a huge hit will all my guests, and you get to keep a book with all the photos of your guests at the end!

Overall we were very pleased with this vendor, however there were a couple of mistakes that we were disappointed with. They played the wrong song for the recessional, and the first dance song was the wrong version. It was frustrating since this was verified with them two days prior. Also a lot of requests weren't played. Ultimately those were small issues though, because everything else was great. I loved that they have their equipment covered, it makes it look so much better! We also used the photo booth which was a huge hit. I would definitely recommend this vendor.

We went with our photobooth from A Special Event DJ (We had previously booked our DJ with another company prior to deciding on the photo booth). I loved their photo booth more than others becuase it is a large curtain covered area as opposed to a plastic booth. 10 people can fit inside and that makes for some hilarious memories of our special day. They also provided a huge table of props that were an instant hit with guests of all ages!

Josh was the name of our DJ and he did a fantastic job. We had a very large wedding and he played music that got everyone on the dance floor. I don't think there was one time that the dance floor didn't have people on it. We also used their photobooth service. Our guests absolutly loved the photobooth and they provides great props to go along with. We ended up extending the photobooth for an extra hour!

Tim and Missy traveled to our wedding in the Ozarks and did an amazing job! They brought a photo booth and it was the hit of the night.
