A Special Event DJ & Photobooth

I couldn’t talk higher about this company. The Dj was truly perfect, the photobooth a really special addition to my wedding. The biggest thing that set them apart from their competitors was that they worked with me when my venue decided to change the rules last minute and told me that they would shut down the wedding if my music could be heard from the parking lot, less than 50 feet from where I was planning on putting them. They worked with us, made sure the music wasn’t too loud, and it made for the perfect night. I told everyone that I knew that if they are in need of a DJ/photobooth to use this company as they truly care about what they have to offer

Our DJ was Nick and he was awesome to work with! From the beginning everyone we talked with was professional and attentive. Nick truly understood the vibe we wanted for our day & helped make it happen! All transitions and announcements from our ceremony & reception, were handled smoothly as well. Highly recommend!

We had A Special Event DJ at my brother’s wedding, and Mike was outstanding! The grooms have a unique taste in music, and Mike not only embraced their style but blended it perfectly with crowd-pleasers that kept the dance floor packed all night. His professionalism, energy, and ability to read the room were top-notch. From the ceremony to the last song, everything flowed seamlessly. Guests are still talking about how much fun they had! I highly recommend Mike and A Special Event DJ for any wedding or celebration!

Dustin was our DJ and Jill was our Photo Booth attendant and these two made our day so special!! What a pleasure to work with them. The planning was exceptional - online portal (checklists and timelines) and multiple check ins leading up to the event. DJ- Jason did such a good job of keeping the night rolling from the ceremony, releasing tables for the Buffett, speeches, etc. AND he made sure we all had a fun time! Very professional and polite. Photo booth- I'm so happy we chose to have this. Guests had so much fun with it. Jill was amazing with the kids and I thought it was awesome that she could print however many strips of the same photo for groups of more than two. We got a book of all the photos strips from the whole night (literally that night) and a hard drive with all the images!

Cody and Savannah are the REAL DEAL. We LOVED how our June wedding day turned out and it has to do with them. They had an amazing checklist and website for you to fill out every single little detail you can think of from ceremony music, grand entrances, to a do not play list! Savannah emailed and Cody called before the wedding to ensure everything was ready and set for our big day which was very appreciated. I was grateful for them listening to me and allowing me to do my day how I wanted. I really wanted all of the grand entrances to have a song. They provided a suggestion and still allowed us to do them this way! The day of the wedding: They were able to play our ceremony music, had a photo booth where they encouraged us to get in there at least 1x (THANK YOU!!!- we were too busy doing all the things to remember), played our first dances, kept the dance floor alive, and even filmed a little of our private last dance (I will cherish this forever!). We love the Photo Booth because they make you a book of all the photos from the night and people can write you notes. They also provide a digital copy of them. We loved how Cody took charge and worked with our Day of Coordinators to continue the flow. We were behind schedule and he quickly and calmly came up with ideas and timelines and we appreciated this because we wanted our guests to have the best experience. Mara was our DJ for the evening and she was an absolute joy to have. She kept on top of everything, her music choices were excellent, and she communicated with us every step of the way. We had a pre-event call with her and she laid out everything we needed to know, made sure she was on the same page for everything we wanted, and to reassure us that our tastes were the number one priority. We loved having her!

Our DJ, Cody, was absolutely amazing! He helped us with a few things with our timeline to fit in fireworks at the right time and kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night. There wasn’t ever a dull moment and he worked the crowd perfectly! I couldn’t have asked for a better DJ!

DK with ASE did an excellent job at our wedding in October! He did a wonderful job of keeping everyone engaged, playing lots of great music, and made sure my husband and I were having the absolute best time! We had a wonderful experience working with the ASE Team and highly recommend them!

Our DJ, DK, was so great and totally understood the 'vibe' we were going for. He was super on top of the schedule and helped things run so smoothly! I also appreciated how thorough the booking tools were for scheduling our wedding day and having Savannah double check all of our information in advance -- it definitely gave me peace of mind that I wasn't forgetting anything. Everyone loved the photobooth and the attendants were troopers for braving the humidity and heat we had that day! It was an absolute pleasure working with Tim and the rest of the ASEDJ team!

This is the second time we’ve hired A Special Event DJ! They are the best at what they do. The planning tool that they have the couple use is awesome. Key songs you want played, and songs you don’t (lol), plus lots more. They handed the ceremony and reception. Our DJ kept the dance floor full all night long! We had a smaller wedding, but you wouldn’t know that by how many people were dancing! We also used the open Photo Booth! It was so much fun watching everyone get their pictures taken. They print off a photo strip for the guests and one for a photo book that they put together as the night progresses, then they also give the couple a thumb drive with all the photos. Anyone can play a playlist on their phone, but it takes a professional to make the reception a success! You will be very happy if you decide to hire A Special Event DJ!

They were so helpful and knowledgeable, and really went with the flow on our big day after a few schedule goofs. Our DJ stayed polite and professional throughout the whole night

We could not recommend A Special Event DJ and Photobooth enough! They are incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and great at communication, making planning easy. They were very quick with replies when communicating and their customer service is top-notch! On the day of, they did such a great job going above and beyond. Everyone was mic'd at an appropriate volume and fade outs for the first dances were smooth. The communication throughout the wedding day was also great! DJ Mara did an awesome job with reading the crowd and playing songs that young and old could (and did) dance to. The photobooth attendant was also super sweet and did a great job assisting a lot of the little ones at our wedding. Overall, they made the sound, DJ, and photobooth aspects of our wedding so stress-free and did a great job making it the best day ever!

We booked A Special Event DJ last minute for our wedding and I am so glad we did. DJ Cody did a phenomenal job, the day would not have been the same without him. He had everything set up and ready to go, he was checking in with not only us but the other vendors as well making sure the timeline was flowing smoothly. He was very respectful and all of his announcements were very clear and kept people informed. He even reminded the whole wedding party when it was time for speeches and went outside to gather guests for us. 10/10 incredibly impressed with DJ Cody and A Special Event!

A Special Event DJ was our wedding DJ vendor - who was fantastic! We decided to go with them because of how friendly and knowledgable they were of the wedding industry (not just the music industry). They are well equipped to provide top notch service and their DJs prioritize your needs (and schedule) day of!

We hired a special even DJ for our wedding in August. Cody did an amazing job! He was always double checking with me to make sure we were on time and validated my choices. And when my groomsmen wanted to be introduced as their nicknames, he ran it by me first. My family and friends love to dance and we were on the dance floor all night! Thank you so much!

We hired ASDJ for our wedding this September and they were great! Tim was responsive and made sure that we had a solid plan for the day of our wedding day. We were lucky enough to get Cody as our DJ and we LOVED him. He was on top of everything and made the reception run smoother than we could have imagined. He worked well with our Wedding Coordinator along with us and our guests to ensure everyone was having a great time. Would 10/10 recommend Cody for your event!

I used ASDJ for their photo booth. They were professional, communicative and the attendant (whose name I cannot remember for the life of me) was super sweet. The book they put together for us is amazing and I really appreciate the thumb drive! The only draw back (and this really isn’t their fault) is that greenery backdrop I paid extra for doesn’t really show in the pictures because of the lighting in the venue. Thank you, Tim and crew!

We hired a Special Event DJ for our wedding this July, and it was worth every penny. This is a well-run business. They fit you with a DJ that will work best for your wedding and your vibe. Communication was great. Tim, the owner, answered all of my questions (there was a lot, he actually complimented me on them) in the beginning, and was very professional. Their online portal is a little confusing and I would have preferred to get the forms and download them and fill them out that way, but I found out a little too late. Anyway, they did sound for both our ceremony and reception. Huge shout out and props to CODY, our DJ, who I would recommend to ANYONE and EVERYONE! I swear he was more than a DJ - it felt like he was our night of event coordinator and thank God because my ADHD brain was NOT going to get anything done in the moment (too happy? Too much wine…). Cody was really fantastic. I didn’t know we needed a pre-party phone call because I’m pretty laid back, but it ended up being such a great choice! We got to know Cody (who you’ll just want to be friends with after your wedding), but he also got some things cleared up and made sure he knew what songs to play when, how to say our weird family names, and what kind of vibe we were going for. Night of - I underestimated some of our guests. I thought it was going to be very low key, but thankfully Cody and a few of our more extroverted friends got people on the dance floor. Thanks Cody, for not making too much fun of us slow dancing the chicken dance to “Groovy Kind of Love.” It’s a New Girl reference. We’re obnoxious super-fans…. Not the kind that has t-shirts and wall decor, but who just spends half the day speaking to one another in New Girl quotes. Anyway, I could go on and on, but in short - hire them for your wedding.

Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness We had the best experience, we utilized their day of coordination, Missi was a life saver! She was a wonderful go between with the vendors and saved this mom and bride so many steps…let us enjoy the day/evening but also checked in when she thought we should make “the call” on questions…everything went so smoothly, was just perfect! Now the DJ service with Tim was also exceptional, he kept our crowd going all night mixed in lots of different music, had the bride/groom favorite list and our dance floor was packed! Can’t thank the Bryan’s enough and would recommend their services to all!

Best DJ in the area!!!! They will not disappoint. I was super impressed with how they operated. They care so much about your wedding timeline and did a great job keeping everything on schedule. When planning, they have a portal where you can mark songs as “green” meaning you love the song and want it played, “yellow” meaning maybe play this song, and “red” do not play. This helps them get your vibe. And boy did they get our guests vibe!!!! Our dance floor was amazing thanks to them!

I have nothing but good things to say about A Special Event DJ!! We had DK as our DJ and he was honestly the best DJ I have seen. He was super easy to work with and kept people on dance floor! He really helped make our reception one we will never forget. I highly recommend DK for any upcoming event!

Tim and the A Special Event DJ team were so great to work with! They were so helpful leading up to the big day & answering any questions. Loved working with their online planning tools & they provided sample ceremony / agenda docs to make sure you've thought of everything you'll need music for and examples. Riley DJ'd our wedding and was great - he did a great job of getting people on the dance floor, and was a great announcer! Highly recommend!

WOW what a party!!!! I cannot recommend Tim and ASEDJ enough. We had the pleasure of having Josh DJ our wedding and it was a blast. He went above and beyond for us, Josh even helped bussel my wedding dress! Josh and Tim were so easy to work with and super helpful. THANK YOU so much for everything!!!

Jared dj-ed our wedding the other weekend and did an excellent job. He was in communication with me beforehand to talk through all details, and did a great job of reading the dance floor and choosing music to keep it fun and energetic. He also went out of his way during the night to find and play a song my MOH requested from our childhood. Very pleased with the service!

This company is by far the best DJ around. My husband and I did photos after ceremony. So our bridal party and us were not able to have some adult beverages, while the music was playing at the cocktail party, Caleb and Tim brought out pitchers of beers and cups outside while we were doing photos. Talk about service. They were sooo fun and engaging! Thank you. The bridal Party was telling me that you guys are the best DJs out there

My wife and I booked ASEDJ for our November 2019 wedding and we could not have been more pleased with the result. Unfortunately we don't remember our specific DJs name, but I can only assume all of their DJs are just as professional and talented as he was! He was able to work with us the day of to figure out some last minute details (exact time of speeches/announcements and such), and even had some good suggestions on doing our reception entrance that we incorporated. The music was great and there were people dancing all night; we could not have put together a better playlist ourselves!

Couldn't say enough good things about A Special Event DJ and PhotoBooth!! The planning process was so smooth and easy, the staff was great about checking in multiple times before the event to make sure everything was good, they were flawless on the day of the event - on time, never any technical issues, had the schedule down perfectly and kept in contact with us nicely to make sure we were happy with everything, their set up was super nice and professional, and I loved that we could pick our own music ahead of time. 10/10 recommend!

For our wedding we were lucky enough to have Cody be our DJ! Cody did such a wonderful job working with us the day of as a few things had to be moved around, was extremely receptive to our vision and feel for the night, and didn't hesitate to get the party started. He was fun to work with, brought so much personality to our reception, and many of our guests still talk about how much fun they had. Many didn't want to leave the dance floor even when the night was done! Cody played all of the music we had requested, all first dance songs went off without a hitch. This was such a feat because I picked acoustic, off-the-wall artists for a few of our dances. He made sure to have the tracks and everything was just as I had hoped. If you are looking for a great DJ service (they also have photobooths and other options!) A Special Event is worth looking in to! They are very well managed and organized, and flexible!

A Special Event did an amazing job! You had access to their online database before the wedding, so you were able to leisurely fill out your day-of schedule, music requests, along with special dances. The day of the wedding was a total blur, but it seems like I blinked and suddenly they were there and had everything set up (which looked very professional and elegant). We got both the DJ service and the photo booth (which I highly highly highly recommend - everyone loved it). The DJ did a great job of keeping things moving and getting people on the dance floor, but also stepping back and letting people enjoy the music and have fun. I honestly can't recommend them enough!

A special event DJ was so easy to work with from everything being done via email to working with us the day of our wedding!

We used A Special Event DJ for our wedding reception and the service was fantastic! Very detailed, and allowed us to personalize things exactly how we wanted. Our guests had a great time, an the dance floor was full all night. They were also extremity professional, and easy to work with!

The before planning for the wedding day with this company was very well put together and structured! The DJ himself was super fun, nice and just plan awesome and played great music! 10/10 rating from us! Great DJ to make our wedding day great!

Pre-wedding planning was easy with the online system and a meeting with Ellie. We had music for the ceremony and for the reception. On the whole we were very happy but somethings could have been a bit smoother. The only thing that I think that could have been better was more coordination between the DJ and us for the ceremony prior to the event as the music was noticeably off for entrances and exits (music going too long or not starting at the right time or for awhile) . We had a really young DJ so I think that was part of it (less experienced perhaps).

If I could give these guys 6/5 stars I absolutely would. my wedding was a dream and my team was so helpful and professional and fun to work with! Nick DJed and Haley ran my photo booth. They both did an incredible job of keeping the dance floor packed and keeping me in the loop when something was needed. I was even surprised by a photobooth scrap book at the end of the night! I just really vibed with these guys and I would 100% take these 2 again in a heartbeat for any future events!

This was by far our best decision! The music was great and our DJ, Don, was phenomenal! He went out of his way to help out and made sure our dance floor was full the whole night!!

I believe we had Riley as our DJ from ASEDJ and he did amazing! He did a great job accommodating the crowd, adjusting to our last minute changes, and keeping the night moving along in the best of ways! I can’t thank him enough for helping our reception to be one to remember! Highly highly recommend!

A Special Event DJ was booked a year and a half before the reception and had been recommended by the venue. Make sure you ask for a specific DJ when you book, as we felt that we received a DJ that filled in at the last minute. You could not hear the DJ when he announced the wedding party. The only other thing he said all night was to announce a missing purse. We asked him to turn up the sound system for the speeches, and he said that he couldn't. An apology from the company would have been nice.

ASEDJ was so easy to work with. I had decided to change our first dance song the week of our wedding to a song that was only available on Amazon music. Instead of telling me this wasn’t possible, they let me know exactly what was needed so they could play the song off my phone. There was no awkward silence between songs and Tim kept everyone dancing out on the dance floor!

We used ASE DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception in Ankeny, IA. They were great. Accommodated every song request, helped with timelines, communicated with the vendors, and were just all in all amazing to work with. Highly recommend them!

A Special Event was amazing. They took all our suggestions and our dance floor was hopping all night. They were available every step of the way to answer questions. We live in Iowa City and they were willing to drive from Des Moines to Williamsburg to meet with us initially. I would choose them again!!

We used A Special Event Dj & Photo Booth for our wedding. We could not hve asked for a better DJ company. They were so easy to work with and created a fun environment for all our guests! The DJ had most of the crowd on the dance floor having a good time. The DJ made an awesome playlist from a list of artists we enjoy and made the celebration even more special for us. Highly recommend this company for any special event you are planning.

We had Dustin for our wedding and he was amazing! We had provided him minimal guidance and he still was able to provide smooth transitions throughout the evening. When he was unsure of something, he would politely ask me (the bride) or someone else but it was not a bother. Everyone loved the music and he took the songs we wanted to play (and didn't want played) into consideration. The uplighting was also nice as our venue was pretty dark with the lights dimmed. I have been to a handful of weddings where ASE DJ was used and have loved every experience, including ours. I would choose them again any day!

We had been told the DJ (Micah) would contact us a week before the wedding but we never heard anything from him until 5 mins before the reception started. He was missing people out of the bridal party for introductions and didn’t have the songs. None of that compares to when they lost our scrapbook from the photo booth which had what everyone wrote along with all the picture strips. DJ claimed he “gave it to someone in a tux” and no one remembers even seeing the DJ give it to anyone. 3 months later and it never showed up. Amanda claimed it was basically our fault as she described it as a “pretty wild night.” Dumb decision to decide to randomly “give” the scrapbook to someone at the end of the night and didn’t bother to let us know. All the DJ could remember was giving the book to “someone in a tux.”

My husband and I had such a wonderful wedding day and a huge part of that is music! I loved being able to fill out my own profile before the wedding and set out the time schedule and music during my own free time so that I did not have to rush and think about it when I had other things to do as the day got closer. I loved being able to pick whatever song I found on Youtube and ASEDJ did the rest! A huge thank you in particular to Josh. He was a DJ for two of our close friends and he did an incredible job. Everyone had a blast at both weddings and he had the dance floor packed! We knew after those weddings we needed him to do our wedding too. We were able to request him, and he did a marvelous job, just like we knew he would! I had absolute faith that Josh would be able to run the music without any issues, but what I really appreciated was how well he worked with not only me and my husband the day of the wedding but also our photographers! They talked together to make sure their time schedule was the same so that when he changed songs for dances or announced us into the reception that the photographers would be there to capture it all. That made me feel so confident that I chose the right DJ and comforted me the day of. Even when we switched up times to end the reception, Josh was there to make sure the music was playing, people were on the dance floor, and having a good time! A few other things I would like to highlight about Josh are – - When we ended our reception an hour early, he not only let me check the remaining songs that would play and approve, he worked with the Glen Oaks staff to get the sparklers and lighters out, and helped organize people so that our wedding guests were ready to go when the last song started playing. - Our ceremony was outside and windy so he could not put the covers on the speakers. It was also too windy to put them on the speakers in the veranda. Once the wind died down after the ceremony he ran back to put the covers on the speakers so that they looked nicer. This was just a great touch and really showed that he actually cared about our day and wanted to do the best he could for us. Definitely made us feel special! - Josh called me a few days before the wedding to go over any questions he had, name pronunciations and to clarify anything I had left blank. He asked what the wedding colors were so he could match his lights with our suits and dress, everything he did was so special and catered to our day. - We had a large group of friends hanging out in the back not dancing and he went and got them on the dance floor! - Every time we made a change to our plan on the wedding day (no money dance, short anniversary dance, ending the reception an hour early) he flowed everything seamlessly like that is what was planned all along! - I even gave him a particular time to the minute and second in the song I chose for our reception entrance song and asked that the party and our names be announced by then so that the chorus would play as we walked in and he did it… Perfectly! I could go on and on, but overall I am very impressed with ASEDJ and especially Josh. I could not thank him enough for all he did and making our day as special as he could! I appreciate all the little things he did. I only get one wedding day and I wanted it to be perfect, and he helped make that happen. :)

The dance was so great that we extended an additional hour. Loved it
