OH MY!! LOOK NO FURTHER....What a delicious and beautiful cake! We met with Carolynn's staff in Dec as we live out of state. We tasted it and said yes. Super easy to work with. We gave them a photo of the cake and asked them to reproduce it in buttercream since we hate fondant. The cake was unreal, the frosting was impeccably smooth and looked like fondant. No cake left for me to take home because all the guest ate it, many guests ate multiple pieces because it was so delicious!

We used Cakes by Carolyn for our wedding and are so glad we did. We had a beach-themed four tiered cake with all different flavors and fillings. We found a picture online of what we wanted, and they were able to re-create it perfectly. All of our guests raved about how delicious the cake was and how beautiful it was. We will be back every year on our anniversary to purchase a cake!

Cakes by Carolynn did an amazing job on our wedding cake!!! We chose white amaretto with raspberry and buttercream filling. Everyone was commenting about it the rest of the night! When we went for our tasting they were very friendly and made suggestions based on what we were looking for. They customized our cake with a pearlized airbrush finish which gave it a beautiful and elegant look against the lighting in our ballroom. We would highly recommend Cakes by Carolynn!

We could not have been happier with the way everything turned out with our cake! I am not a cake person whatsoever so I really hadn’t put too much thought into flavors, design, etc. We had been given a few recommendations from others regarding different bakeries, but wasn’t in love with designs or more importantly the customer service we experienced with some bakeries we contacted. At Cakes By Carolynn someone sat down with us for over an hour and discussed flavors, designs, layers, and things you wouldn’t even think to ask in regards to a wedding cake! They actually designed our cake from the ground up and were more than accomodating when we took a couple extra months to decide on our filling flavor. The cake turned out EVEN BETTER than I expected and people are still raving about how delicious it was. In fact, some friends of ours who recently got engaged just booked them after our wedding. Our cake was BEYOND what we imagined- both in taste & design. Cakes by Carolynn is the Best- wedding cakes, any cake (period).

I will start this off by saying my now husband and I are not sweets people. We probably wouldn’t have had one if it wasn’t part of our package with our venue. We were able to pick from 3 local bakers and I’m so glad we chose A Special Touch! When we did our tasting Carolyn was so great! You could really tell this was a family business. Carolyn was able to help us make the right choice in cakes and my favorite part was everything was fondant free! We decided on the raspberry swirl with amereto- a best seller. When we came back to drop off the cake decor the ladies working were so great and helpful on how to place everything perfectly. All our guests were raving about the cake. I’ve never been to a wedding were all the cake was eaten but it surely happened at ours! Thankfully the venue saved our top! I can not be thank this talented team enough!

We went in for our 🍰 tasting Saturday. We met with Bonnie who was very helpful kind and patient. We had a great experience and ordered our 3 wedding cake.

We were recommended by our venue to Cakes by Carolyn and definitely not disappointed. We chose vanilla with strawberry filling, and their raspberry amaretto swirl and it was so delicious! We had the cake ombre and to match our wedding colors. The cake turned out perfectly and was exactly what we wanted! We got so many compliments on the cake! Amazing!

The cake tasting was fun. The cake tasted good. Easy to work with and delivered to the venue with out issue. Price was definitely reasonable. The cake was very pretty, but they used the wrong color. It was supposed to be lavender (my colors were lavender and blue), and they used blue instead. I still don't know how that happened. I was very clear from the beginning the color was lavender. Had they used the right color I would have given them 5 stars.

We used Cakes by Carolyn because it was included in our reception venue package. However I would have used them anyway as they did my sister's cake 5 years ago! Yummy cakes! I had an amazing experience with Cakes By Carolynn! Bonnie is a absolute pleasure to work with. We emailed for a few weeks discussing the style of cake I was looking for and ways to cut costs since I had a strict budget. I sent various pictures and styles and she completely understood my vision. I had a consultation with Bonnie and she made us feel right at home. She was professional, gave us her expert opinion, and I could tell she truly cared. I did a great deal of research on Tampa Bay Area Bakeries and spoke to A LOT of bakers. I decided to reach out to a St Pete baker because her work really stood out to me. I was not interested in inedible fondant that I kept seeing at other bakeries and her buttercream work was absolutely gorgeous. She was hands down the most genuine and responsive baker out of a dozen I spoke with! As much as we loved all of the fun flavors she had to offer, we chose a classic white cake with fudge filling with buttercream icing. The cakes at this bakery are moist, the fillings are decadent, and the buttercream icing is clean and smooth! The delicate dots on the buttercream iced cakes are the perfect mix of feminine and classic! I cannot wait for my wedding and to see my vision come to life! Such an honor to work with Bonnie. Very sweet and helpful! They made such a beautiful cake for our wedding. It tasted delicious and all of our guests loved it! We came from another state and were worried not being able to taste them beforehand. But, I put my trust in them and they did a phenomenal job! I recommend them highly!

I ordered a cake with cupcakes on the side for the large amount of children I had attending my wedding. Well the cupcakes never showed up to the reception and therefore we did not have enough cake for the guests. My parents never received a piece of cake nor did my husband and myself. The cake also did not look like the picture that I had brought in. I would not recommend this vendor.

I recently got married at the Grand Plaza Beachfront Resort on St. Pete Beach, FL and Bonnie Schaefer, at Cakes by Carolynn, was the cake company we had the privilege of working with for our wedding. Bonnie was nothing short of outstanding -- she was very professional and prompt to reply during the planning phase. We decided to have two cakes--a pretty standard, 3-tier wedding cake and also a custom groom's cake. For the groom's cake, I provided a picture that my husband's grandfather had drawn of two state outlines -- Vermont and Louisiana, since that's where my husband and I are from. Bonnie called me to determine all of the colors we would use on the cake and it came out perfectly! We also got some chocolate covered strawberries with the groom's cake which went fast! The groom's cake was a surprise to my husband and he absolutely loved it! The cakes were both the perfect size and they tasted amazing. Doing cake tasting before ordering was definitely worth it! We chose the butter rum flavor for the wedding cake and the white amaretto for the groom's cake, both with the barvarian cream filling which was simple and light, but to die for! Cakes by Carolynn also has a fabulous relationship with the Grand Plaza which was extremely convenient for the flow of everything on the wedding day -- the cakes were both dropped off to our reception ballroom before it began, looking flawless, which made much less communication confusion! Cakes by Carolynn is definitely worth their price tag. Thank you to Bonnie for making our special day so beautiful and delicious!

The Cake was so good. One of my guests said they had 9 pieces. haha. I had it decorated with Shells that we provided and they did a great job. The Bavarian Cream filling was SO Good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

So I just wanted to take a (long overdue) second and say THANK YOU. You guys made the most beautiful and best tasting wedding cake I could have asked for. It was so tasty and we had so many compliments, and NO LEFTOVERS! The flamingo toppers that you placed looked fantastic, and it was just really awesome. Second, holy moly, the Grateful Dead dancing bear grooms cake was AWESOME and was an absolute hit! It was perfect, and although maybe an odd request, my fiance absolutely was surprised and loved it. It was perfectly done and sitting beside the wedding cake I feel like it really captured both my fiance and my personalities (kind of weird cake analogy there, I know). Great price and definitely will recommend.

I had to plan my wedding in Florida from California. The staff was excellent at contacting me to help me put together my dream cupcake tier. I was taking a chance because I couldn't go to a cake tasting. I will have you know, the cakes are seriously the best cupcakes I have ever tried! On our tier, we had red velvet, carrot cake, raspberry swirl, and the topper was a white cake with coconut filling. All of them were incredible! They also created a grooms cake for me that looked like a drum since my husband plays drums. It looked so amazing! They are truly artists and incredible bakers with incredible service. They will not disappoint!

We worked with the company from Texas as we planned our destination wedding in Florida. Everyone was incredibly easy to work with and they were responsive, responsible, and flexible. They talked to my niece for most of the planning, let my friend in Tampa do our taste testing, then finalized plans with my then fiance and me over the phone, never demonstrating the slightest bit of frustration or impatience with us. We sent a picture of a tea cup and they were able to create the design on a cake for us. They also coordinated with our restaurant for dinner after the wedding, dropped off our cake, and had it waiting beautifully arranged on a table for us when we arrived. I'm not sure how much Carolyn's did versus the restaurant in the set up, but that is the beauty of it all. We didn't have to worry about a thing! Our cake was beautiful, delicious, and very reasonably priced. Thank you Cakes by Carolyn!

I am so happy that I decided to go with Cakes by Carolynn for my wedding cake in Clearwater Beach. Bonnie was a pleasure to work with, and the cake and service was excellent. My husband and I decided to go with the red velvet with cream cheese filling, and it was AMAZING. My unique design of the cake also turned out beautiful and stayed within our budget. I was a bit worried because I was having a destination wedding, but Bonnie and her staff was very responsive and reIiable during the entire process. I could have not asked for a more amazing wedding cake!!! My wedding cake was 3-tiered that fed approx. 75, and it was their popular flavor combo of amaretto raspberry swirl cake with raspberry filling. It was beyond delicious, and a unique flavor that everyone enjoyed. The design of my cake was perfect for my venue, which was The Florida Aquarium. I had an ombre base color from white to blue, and coral design. The staff, especially Bonnie, was very helpful when I was making my decisions on the flavor and design, answering my many phone calls and emails. Also, I am a destination bride living in Chicago, and they made the process very easy for me without meeting them face-to-face after booking their services. I am so happy with their services, and definitely recommend them to anyone who doesn't want a traditional/boring wedding cake.

We had a lemon/raspberry cake from Cakes by Carolynn. The value was excellent. The cake was beautiful with an ocean theme with white chocolate sea shells. Would recommend this place to everyone! The first time I've seen every guest finish all their cake, was too god to even leave one crumb on the plate!

From the first day I drove past this shop on my way to a Rays baseball game, I KNEW they were going to do my wedding cake (and this was before I'd even met my husband). I just had a remarkable feeling when I drove by that the place would be amazing, and years later when I went in for a tasting I got confirmation. The cakes are sinfully delicious from cake to frosting to filling, AND they are elegantly designed to the bride's choice. It is difficult to find a place where the cake actually tastes as good as it looks, and I am really picky about my desserts being a self-taught baker. There is nothing I appreciate more than a homemade cake from scratch that tastes as amazing as it looks. My husband and I were so happy with our choice that we ate the top layer instead of freezing it, just so that we would have an excuse to buy a fresh one on our anniversary! Please do not be fooled by the outside (or even inside) look of the shop. Just go in for a tasting and I promise you will not be disappointed :)

Our cake was wonderful! It was a three tiered textured cake with a few simple flowers on the side. I brought in a picture and they brought that picture to life. We were even able to mix and match our cake flavors because my husband is more of a raspberry swirl with Bavarian cream filling kind of a guy, while I am more of a plain white on white sort of a girl. Great value, delivered on time, looked outstanding, very happy!

I got married August 7th and the cake was one of the highlights from our reception. In addition to the cakes being fabulous. Ours was Raspberry Amaretto. The staff was so helpful. I live in Texas and had original contracted to have my cake down by someone else that was recommend by our wedding coordinator. However, the baker backed out a week before my wedding. I read some reviews for Cakes by Carolynn and they were all fantastic. I called and explained the situation. They told me to come in when I got in town and they would help me out. I showed up on Tuesday and they were able to have the cake done for my wedding on Thursday evening. I will definitely be here again the next time I am in Florida.

I booked our wedding cake from Cakes by Carolynn based off of reviews and all the good reviews were right! The cake looked and tasted great! Ordering the cake was really easy (and pretty fast) and they were patient and helpful. I wish I would have ordered the larger tier with the specialty flavor we used for the top tier (confetti cake with strawberry filling, YUM) because it was so good there weren't any leftovers!

This company has been creating beautiful masterpieces for my family for years but my wedding cake literally took the cake!!! I had a very specific vision in mind that included floating tiers and even lights and they made my vision a reality!!! The cakes are also super moist and delicious!!!

This place is Heaven!!!!!!! My husband and I hate fondant on cake so our mission for our wedding was to get the yummiest buttercream frosting wedding cake we could find and A Special Touch was it! Our three layered cake consisted of amaretto strawberry swirl white cake with strawberry preserves, almond cake with almond slivers and carrot cake with cream cheese filling. We had 100 guests, bought a cake that served 116 people and we had no cake left at our wedding, that's how fantastic it was. We even had family the next day asking for more cake! Also, we asked for the cake to be designed a specific way that might have been confusing so my husband drew a picture of what we wanted on an iPad and printed out a picture for them. It looked like they pulled the cake right out of the picture that is how perfect the cake looked. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

What a great choice for my wedding and grooms cake! I went to like 4 other places and they were the best amount and quality for the price. They were even willing to accommodate my obsession with crystal and ribbon by adding real crystal and ribbon accents I asked them to add. The grooms cake (a Seminole head on a round cake) turned out so awesome! Most everyone at the wedding are Seminole fans and they kept asking me where I got it done. Our reception venue had a contract with Cakes By Carolynn in which the cake was included in the reception package. The total cost to us came out to be only $40 for some additional add-ons to our design. The cake was beautiful and delicious!

It included 2 different types of layers: amaretto cake with raspberry filling and orange cake with strawberry filling. The icing was butter cream made with real butter. The decorations were exactly to my specifications. It tasted amazing and looked great in the photos. Thanks Cakes by Carolynn for helping to make my wedding the perfect day.

We ordered our cake through the Buffet package at the Grand Plaza Hotel. I was a bit nervous about how the cake would turn out since my husband and I live out of state and could not do a tasting. They executed our vision very well. We arrived in town the day before the wedding and dropped off seashells for our cake. The bakery was very clean and the women were so friendly and organized. At the wedding the cake was so beautiful. We received so many compliments about how delicious the cake was! We opted for a coconut cake with pineapple filling and off-white butter cream icing. Let's just say we didn't have to worry about packing the top layer on the plane back home from the honeymoon!!

Very nice people to work with. Our cake was beautiful and exactly what we had asked for. Their signature flavor raspberry amaretto swirl was absolutely amazing. The cake was very moist and perfect. We had alternating flavors of the raspberry and butter rum and everyone loved the cake! I cannot wait to eat the rest of it for our year anniversary
