Sharry is a nice woman and pleasant to deal with.
I have soft curly hair that blows out perfectly smooth. When going for my first trial in Nov of 23, I had gotten an updo asking ...for a messy bun, received a donut bun and a very unfinished/fuzzy look that did not reflect the photo I showed her. A few months later I changed my mind on what I wanted. Scheduled a second trial for both my mom and myself. The woman (Elsa) did not curl my whole head, loosely pinned the hair and within two hours (waiting for my mom and the 30 min drive home) the entire style fell out - the pins, the curls. Everything. Sharry was flexible and understanding once I sent the photos to her. Asked me to come back two days later but there was a breakdown in communication and her hairstylist was not able to make the appt which she told me three hours before. As a result, hair cost an extra 3k to have the salon I use on LI (I promise I'm not bougie, just a curly hair gal, new to CT, and panicking) close for the day and come to CT to do our hair as I was 8 weeks out from my Oct wedding. My Mom also was disappointed in her trial as again it did not look like the photo that was shown to her and was not a finished look (very flat, very lack luster.) for reference, my mom has straight, approximately shoulder length hair
For make up: it was...eh. The girls eyelashes and my own did not endure the entire night. Toward the end of the night I didn't feel like my makeup held up as good as it should have in comparison to other makeup I've gotten done for other weddings I've been in. She left without finishing lipstick on the day of the wedding. And charged my SIL for literally getting mascara and nothing else (understand as she planned on doing 7 girls and myself but still left a poor taste in my mouth as she did not receive the full service paid for.)
On the day of my trial she suggested a 1030 start for a 2 pm departure (8 women for hair and make up - 1 stylist for make up and 1 for hair) which I felt was cutting it close and after addressing these concerns with her she finally agreed to bump it back to 930 but did not seem thrilled and mentioned "her time". It did not feel like there was genuine care in ensuring the best result for the big day.
Before the hair conundrum, the plan was to get ready at her salon. After her stylists lack of ability to rectify or prove competence Sharry still charged me a travel fee to do our make up at the hotel. There was no reduction in cost for this major inconvenience.
Also she told me at my trial that she gives girls free lip touch up kits when they give her a 5 star review on different sites... so be mindful when reading reviews.
In all, I wouldn't recommend her again for make up and hair. It was literally the only thing that caused me any worry or stress for our wedding.
