A Touch of You - Taryn
Taryn is everything you could ever ask for in a wedding coordinator!
My wife and I got married in late August 2022 at a venue called Lanikuhonua on Oahu. Taryn took us on as last minute clients because we ended up realizing our guest count was much greater than anticipated (from 30 guests up to 80). The original plan was to have a ceremony at Lanikuhonua and then reception at Cafe Julia, but we came to realize we wanted to embrace the full experience of our wedding, even if that meant spending more money. No regrets…you only live once!
We reached out to Taryn and other coordinators, but Taryn gave us the greatest sense of relief and was the best in regards to replying timely and ensuring us it would all work out. Her personality shines when she speaks and you can tell she knows what she’s doing. We had a vision for our big day and she embraced all of our ideas. We only had a couple months to make this happen and she came through big!
Taryn has all the connections on Oahu. She’s been doing this forever and it shows. We wanted the arch to look a certain way, a clear tent, the lights and dance floor under the trees, shaved ice stand, great cocktails, food that was tasty but not too expensive, a fun hula contest with our guests, fire dancers, specific music and vibe, sunset photos, and for our guests to have an amazing experience. Our wedding program was jam packed, and she even helped my wife fit in a “secret” dance performance. Taryn helped bring our big dream to reality!
Advice: have a plan about what you want and she’ll make it happen!
When we met in person for the venue walkthrough Taryn was flexible with my wife’s ideas. Instead of getting married by the wall (a very common place in “Phase II”…and beautiful) my wife saw a spot under the trees with an incredible view (through the palm trees to the ocean). Taryn embraced the idea even though it was not typical for the venue. We felt at ease with her about sharing ideas.
Her kindness was felt throughout our wedding trip. She went out of her way and came to our private beach club party on the Friday before our Sunday wedding in order to have the wedding rehearsal. This was greatly appreciated because we had a lot of plans during our wedding trip so it made things convenient.
Taryn has a great relationship with the vendors on the island, which makes things go smoothly. We had hired Seeking Films for photo/video and Toshi from Spectrum Entertainment “prior” to meeting Taryn and they had nothing but great things to say about her. This put us at ease because we knew they all had a great working relationship.
My apologies for the long post we’re just really excited for the way our wedding turned out. Everyone told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The love was felt throughout the event and I can’t thank Taryn enough. Taryn, if you’re reading this, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I know our wedding had a lot of elements that were different from a typical wedding, so thanks for your patience (and those late night phone calls haha). You helped create a memory that we will cherish for our entire lives. I wish we could do it all over again. God bless you and your family. You have no idea how much this meant to us.

5 weeks before our wedding, Taryn went completely dark and ghosted me for 9 days! I sent her several text messages, then I resorted to other modes of communication such as emailing, calling, and sending IG DMs, but no response. AND we still did not have a florist or DJ secured, the reception venue details were still in the air and I still did not have some reception décor details finalized, so I can place the orders. I saw that she posted on IG about another wedding she coordinated, but yet she didn't have time to send me a quick message, 'Hey I got your messages, I will respond to you on xx date/time'. I happened to call one our vendors and they just saw Taryn that day with other clients! So she was alive and well, but clearly deciding to not respond to me!
I sent Taryn one last text saying I was super hurt she ghosted me after everything we've been through and I need to seek out another wedding coordinator as she's too busy with other clients to respond. She finally responded the next day, but instead of an apology for her non-responsiveness, she gaslights me and talks about her other clients and says no one else is panicking. Even though I should have ended the wedding coordinator relationship based on this unprofessional response, I gave her one last chance. I told her the only way we can continue this relationship is if she communicates with me every day until we get everything in place. What does she do? She doesn't respond!!
We ended up having to hire a new wedding coordinator 5 weeks before our wedding. Plus Taryn never sent me any information regarding vendors/contracts etc. to transfer the knowledge over to my new coordinator, so we basically had to start from scratch! This was so very unprofessional and inconsiderate especially this late in the game before our wedding. Since we had to call all our vendors, we found out that Taryn negotiated things that she never discussed with me such as our reception vendor was not going to bus our tables, pour water, or clean the dishes that we had to rent since they only had bamboo plates and plasticware. They also did not have operational bathroom facilities, so they were going to rent porta-pottys for our guests! So basically if we had gone through with the original wedding reception, it would've been a complete mess (literally)!
Thank God our new wedding coordinator (esselleweddings.com) was so on point! She was able to secure a florist, a DJ and also get us into the Moana Surfrider for our reception venue just 4 weeks before our wedding!! Our wedding was completely saved by Esselle Weddings! We are so grateful that we had the wedding of our dreams despite the changing of wedding coordinators and venue within a month of our wedding!
Although Taryn is a very nice person and I did enjoy the time I worked with her, I think she took on too many weddings this year (perhaps that paid her a lot more than we had paid her back in 2020). She was overwhelmed and decided to put her less expensive clients on the back burner and pay more attention to her recent clients who paid her more. It's not right and I hope she learns from this experience to be honest with her clients when she's too overwhelmed instead of taking the unprofessional way and ghosting her way out of a contract. In the long run, this will hurt her reputation on the island and will give potential clients hesitation to work with someone who may or may not respond when you need them most.
I cannot recommend A Touch of You enough!!! Taryn and her team at A Touch of You made everything from the very beginnings of wedding planning to the execution of the day an absolute dream. Planning a destination wedding for a dual military couple seemed like a daunting task, but with Taryn's help I never had to be worried about even the smallest details! Despite going through a pandemic and a pregnancy, Taryn was always a call or text away whenever I had questions (which was rarely thanks to her thoroughness) and she truly made me feel at ease placing my wedding in her hands. I only had a general idea of what kind of style I wanted our wedding to be, but Taryn's expertise helped me flesh out a full vision--and then she brought it to life perfectly! Our wedding was a "hybrid" wedding with half of the guests being local to Hawaii and half being from out of town; Taryn knew exactly how to make everyone feel involved and enjoy the night! I'm still getting texts from my guests saying it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended--I even had a friend tell me they wanted their wedding to be exactly like mine! If you want to be stress free and have your wedding be beautifully planned and perfectly executed, definitely pick A Touch of You!!
Taryn and her team made wedding planning from Washington a breeze! We decided to have our wedding in Kualoa Ranch Secret Island and Moli'i Gardens with only 5 months to prepare. I was concerned about us not having enough time to plan but after explaining my vision to Taryn she assured me that it was reasonable. We talked to a few wedding planners but decided to go with Taryn because we liked how detailed she was in the initial call and how open and honest she was.
Leading up to the wedding, we scheduled a trip 2 months ahead make final decisions and meet a few vendors. Taryn and team were very organized in creating a schedule for us to see venue, food & cake tastings, hair and makeup trial, and cocktail tasting. We had such a blast during this part of the planning process and felt like we were in good hands.
Days leading up to the wedding, Taryn was communicative with vendor invoices and ensuring we had everything we wanted. She even went above and beyond to include last minute items I wanted like calligraphy signs/nameplates and shave ice truck. We also had a rehearsal which was helpful and a detailed wedding day schedule sent out days before. We knew exactly what to expect day of and Taryn was available at all times to answer questions.
On the day of wedding, the day progressed according to schedule. The day felt so organized and her team helped fix any issues that came up. I felt like we really enjoyed our day without having to stress out about the little things. Taryn also took such great care of us ensuring we were taking care of ourselves that day such as staying hydrated and eating throughout the day. The ceremony and reception setting was beautiful, stunning and exceeded my expectations. The layouts looked exactly as planned and discussed. We enjoyed our day so much and it was such a memorable day for our guests as well. I was truly blown away by our wedding it felt like such a dream! My now husband and I got engaged in 2019. Like many other couples we had to cancel/postpone our wedding when the pandemic hit. We realized by the beginning of 2021 we wanted to change our plans of getting married in our home state of California to a small wedding in Hawaii. Oahu holds a special place in our hearts. It was our first trip together as a couple and we fell in love with everything about this beautiful island! Planning a destination wedding was super exciting, but also a lot for one bride. That's when I started looking for a wedding planner/coordinator.
From the moment I spoke with Taryn on the phone I knew we would be in great hands! She is knowledgeable about the wedding industry, very well organized, and is passionate about bringing your wedding day vision to life! Also, communication with her was a breeze. Taryn was prompt and professional throughout the entire process. I appreciated that she was always a step ahead of our vendors and had everything covered. This made me feel at ease especially when I became sick a month before the wedding.
We met Taryn on our rehearsal day walkthrough. She is just as sweet in person as she is over the phone! Her and her team prepared us for what to do, hyped us up for our wedding, and took notes of the last details. Throughout the rest of the day my husband to be and I relaxed while they picked up rental items/prepped.
June 7, 2022 was our wedding! Everything ran smoothly! I had mentioned previously that there was a sensitive family matter and everyone was mindful about that. Certain dynamics were kept separate as planned. Taryn and her team guided us, our vendors, and our guests, every step of the way from beginning to end! Their incredible eye for detail made our wedding setup an absolute DREAM! This included the name placements for our reception which was such a beautiful surprise! After the wedding Taryn asked if we wanted to have our florals preserved. That was awesome! They then drove the florals over to get the process going. We will never forget all your help in making our day so special!
It truly pains me to have to write this review for Taryn, as she was so friendly and bubbly at our first meeting- I distinctly remember thinking we would be lifelong friends with our new wedding planner. I will start by saying Taryn stuck with us a we navigated postponing our wedding twice, however when the day finally approached, she became overly lax and very unprofessional in her communication with us. I wanted to share this experience to be very honest and transparent about our situation, and to help others who are on the hunt for a wedding planner on Oahu:
Two weeks out from our wedding day, we were supposed to hop on a call with Taryn to review a handful of outstanding Q's we had. When the day came, I reached out to ask if the day still worked for her since I hadn't heard any confirmation, and she asked to meet the following day instead. Taryn had mentioned she was going on vacation, but reassured me that she would be available, and in fact, overemphasized her availability- telling us that if we needed anything she would be there. Not wanting to disturb her, I was mindful of her vacation and was considerate and flexible in accommodating a time that worked best for her (see text exchanges). She confirmed that it was no problem, we would chat the next day, and she would contact me the next morning. The following morning came around, nothing. I texted to see if it was easier to exchange via text, and nothing. I let it go since I knew she was away, but as the days went by, my anxiety went through the roof knowing we were less than 2 weeks away with a handful of things still not final, no venue layout, vendors were asking me Q's I didn't have answers to, and we had a MIA planner who did say she was on vacation, yet missed our planned meeting, never replied, and never mentioned anything about being totally MIA or unavailable. After 5 days of not hearing from Taryn or anyone on her team at all, we decided to move forward with another planner who honestly was such a breath of fresh air and so professional in comparison. This was truly a bride and groom's nightmare leading up to the wedding day; a planner is someone who is supposed to alleviate your stress, be there for you as the main point of contact for your vendors, and ensure they aren't leaving you hanging less than 2 weeks out from the wedding day with a handful of Q's still up in the air. What I later learned, was that Taryn dropped the ball on a couple of major items that I think she was too embarrassed to admit ... maybe she was waiting until she found a resolution before hopping on a call (one example: she had the wrong table sizes down with Accel, the rental company, and by the time I caught the issue, they were out of the sizes we needed, however all of our linens were ordered to fit the now out of stock table size...) We really are not sure what the reason(s) was, since to this day, she has never reached back out or called or texted us back at all. We ultimately had to make the call to re-hire a new planner after we lost hope of hearing back from Taryn...
I'll conclude by re-stating that I am SO heartbroken to have to share this experience. I understand that every business is going to reply to a review such as this, to try and flip it around to make it seem like we are the 'difficult clients' at fault, however I've truly looked at this from a very objective point of view for a long time, and there just isn't any reason why we were met with this level of unprofessionalism
Taryn and her team were the MVPs of our wedding! We couldn't have pulled it off without them.
We planned our Hawaii wedding remotely in New York and from the beginning, Taryn was so communicative, on top of everything and gave us her honest POV and recommendations.
Then the pandemic hit... and we had to change our date THREE times but each time she patiently worked with us to figure it out, making sure that we were able to move things accordingly. Besides the logistics, it was really her emotional support that we cherished the most. Many times we'd text and call (often in tears!) and she calmed us down and had our back. She is so respected and intertwined within the wedding industry/community in Hawaii that I knew she had the inside scoop and most up to date info at all times which gave us peace of mind.
When it came to the actual wedding...we was blown away!! She runs a tight ship and every detail was taken care of...if anything went wrong, we had no idea! Multiple guest came up to us after and complimented us on how professional and put together everything was. Many said it was the best wedding they had been to and it was all thanks to Taryn and her team!!
If you're looking for someone to take care of you on your most important day, GO WITH A TOUCH OF YOU!! The absolute best in Hawaii! I guarantee you'll have an expertly planned wedding, but you'll also gain a friend. We love Taryn and team- thank you for everything!!!
There aren't enough words to describe how thankful my husband and I for Taryn and her team!
We started our wedding planning journey with her in 2019 (pre covid) and she had our backs the whole way through, all while the state of Hawaii implemented covid restrictions. We had to postpone our wedding due to covid and Taryn was ON TOP of her game. Taryn and her team even rallied for the wedding industry to open back up again in Hawaii as so many couples took a huge hit during covid (this is true, look it up on the news!!!!). Now if that's not a passionate wedding coordinator that fights and shows she has her couples backs, I don't know what is.
My husband and I did not worry AT ALL throughout the process. So many couples (with different coordinators in different states) asked me so many times how was I not stressed about anything. Simple, I just told them I had Taryn by my side.
Now come wedding day... A Touch of You KILLED IT. While my husband and I were getting ready in our hotel suite in Waikiki, Taryn had Steph (member on her team) watch over us to make sure everything ran smoothly on our end while Taryn was at the venue (50 mins away from where we were) setting up. When I say I didn't have to lift a finger on this day, I mean it. No one bothered me about the schedule, where everyone had to be, where all the vendors were, etc. Taryn and her team took care of EVERYTHING. Taryn made sure we followed all covid protocol as well. Even our guests were so impressed with Taryn and her team. Our wedding day ran so smooth, no hiccups, NOTHING.
Ok, I can literally go on and on about Taryn and A Touch of You. Im a little sad that we can't work together any more!

Taryn is such a sweetheart and it was a pleasure working with her through COVID and on our wedding day. Everything was perfect. There was a brief period of frustration where I was not able to reach Taryn or her team, although after it was all said and done, we realized and understood she was going through her pregnancy dealing with backed-up weddings from the pandemic, and our time change was significant. It turned out amazing. I recommend Taryn and her team for sure. We look forward to keeping in touch with her and seeing her next time we are in Hawaii!!
We secured "A Touch of You" for our daughter's Hawaiian wedding in January of 2020. Living on the east coast, and our daughter living in California we really felt the need to have a wedding planner for the event which was to take place October 2020. With the COVID pandemic and all of the restrictions put into place, the wedding had to be postponed. My husband and I knew it wasn't going to happen, but continued to go through the motions for our daughter. I was so grateful when we were on a group call that Taryn kindly told our daughter she needed to reschedule. Needless to say, we were all very disappointed. Taryn contacted all of the vendors we had secured and my daughter was able to reschedule for October 2021. Taryn kept in contact with us regarding the COVID rules for Hawaii and some adjustments needed to be made for the big day. Living so far away I was somewhat nervous as to how everything was going to come together. I did feel as if we were left in limbo for a month prior, but I knew Taryn was expecting her baby and the state of Hawaii was continually changing the COVID rules and knew I wasn't alone in feeling the pressure and uncertainty of the current situation. Needless to say, Taryn contacted us following her delivery and we were back on track. Taryn and her team were amazing! Prior to the wedding day, Taryn sent us the itinerary for the rehearsal and the wedding. She made sure everything was in order and the timeline was strictly followed. The long overdue wedding could not have turned out any better. I know my husband and I were extremely pleased as to how the event unfolded. Taryn and her team were professional, fun and went above and beyond to make our daughter's wedding day memorable. I highly recommend "A Touch of You".
Taryn and the team from A Touch of You were outstanding, and that is an understatement. We decided to plan our wedding with only 8 months and in the middle of the COVID pandemic. I felt very panicked given our short timeline but Taryn always made time for me, scheduling weekly talks and FaceTime dates to show me things in vendor showrooms since I was unable to be in Hawaii. Being originally from CA, she helped guide me to find the perfect other partners for food, flowers, DJ, music, equipment. Taryn was always honest about her suggestions and very respectful of budget, giving me feedback on what I should have vs what I could cut. Also, we decided on a backyard wedding at our uncles home, which was a blank canvas, a wedding had never been done there before; but Taryn literally ran with this, and drew up different options on how we could have the wedding set up. And I will tell you, on the final day when everything came together, it exceeded my husband and I, and even my Hawaiian family’s expectations. No one could have imagined how beautiful it turned out and how everything just perfectly fit and flowed. I was on the fence on hiring a wedding planner, I would 100% recommend a planner, and 1000% recommend Taryn and “A Touch of You”! Their organization, their quality service, and overall enthusiasm for their jobs is unparalleled. They are who you want by your side to make your dream wedding become a reality. You will not regret it!
"30 DAYS AND COUNTING!!"
Okay, we had a wedding with less than 30 days to plan. I was referred to Taryn at A Touch of You and I am so glad I did. The wedding industry is already a confusing place to be in- now add COVID restrictions to that and you've got a fire no one knows how to put out but Taryn!
Taryn made the chaos of wedding planning (did I mention this was all done in under 30 days?) nightmare-free! We trusted her with our wedding and it sure paid off. We had an amazing wedding venue with half of our guests flying in from out the mainland. Our guests raved about the great food and drinks (which was a personal recommendation from Taryn) and venue. Taryn helped us realize our dream wedding within our budget and did it while 30+ weeks PREGNANT! She is an all-star and I cannot recommend her enough.
Taryn and the team from A Touch of You are the absolute best!! My now wife and I were one of the many couples who had to postpone our wedding last year (a few times) due to COVID restrictions, and Taryn was right there with us throughout the entire journey.
We had a few friends who recommended A Touch of You and we're so happy we went with them! Taryn was quick to address any issues we had along the way and helped guide us through many difficult decisions. Our wedding day was perfect and everything went smoothly. No stress!! It was nice being able to focus on the two of us and our guests while Taryn and her team worked seamlessly in the background making sure everyone and everything was done properly and on time!

We had a 2 year engagement and had previously hired Wendy Tenedora Wong with House of Aloha Hawaii to coordinate our wedding in Hawaii. Unfortunately after a year and a half of false hope and assurance, our wedding was far from being executed - a whole other story in itself.
I was referred to Taryn with a touch of you after much vetting from one of my bridesmaid. Even with my initial conversation with Taryn, she was super sweet and understanding of our unfortunate circumstances. With only 1 month to plan my wedding, Taryn jumped in with no hesitation. She was very accommodating to our vulnerable situation and really brought back the excitement in planning our wedding. She answered every phone call/text/email and provided insight to things we didn't consider. Not only was her team knowledgeable and supportive the entire way- they really took care of us the day of. Making sure we ate, drinks were always full, makeup was touched up and fires were put out. Expect nothing but the best and nothing but love when working with A touch of you.
If you are thinking about hiring A Touch of You as a 'day of' coordinator only, please stop reading after this first paragraph. You will have an easy walk through before the wedding, and if my experience is anything to go off you will have a pain free wedding day during which everything will run perfectly.
If you are thinking about hiring A Touch of You as a wedding planner, I strongly recommend you do not. Our July wedding at Dillingham Ranch was a perfect day but dealing with Taryn before the wedding was an absolute nightmare and certainly the single most stressful part of the entire wedding preparation process. We had months of no communication, were given every excuse for deadlines not being met (from spur of the moment holidays, to pregnancy complications of a friend completely unrelated to A Touch of You, to self-induced illness), went back and forth on the same topic numerous times because emails and phone calls were simply forgotten or ignored, and we were prompted to spend more money and buy unnecessary accessories, as consideration for our budget was fairly non-existent.
At one point I had to call a vendor that Taryn was meant to be managing and once they had me on the phone they said, "Oh I am so pleased you called today! We were worried the wedding wasn’t happening. We have heard nothing from your wedding planner since her first enquiry nearly two months ago." That phone call happened less than 6 weeks before our wedding date. We were also told for months that Taryn was waiting to hear back from the DJ regarding an invoice that needed to be paid in order to confirm the booking. Through fear that nothing was being done, we contacted the DJ ourselves and received the invoice within 30 minutes – as it turned out, the DJ was in fact very responsive, and it was A Touch of You that was the poor communicator. It was clear that very little care or time was being put into our wedding.
The ‘service’ we received was the most unprofessional conduct I have ever encountered in any industry and I do not believe A Touch of You should be taking on wedding planning jobs, especially for brides who do not live on Oahu.
We expect this review to receive a volatile reaction from A Touch of You, we expect for these experiences to somehow be our fault, we expect the vendors to unfairly be blamed - as this is the standard response from A Touch of You.
We wanted a simple wedding, no intricate floral requests or live performers needed, but Taryn singlehandedly ensured the six months before the wedding were stressful - full of sleepless nights and, unfortunately, tears. Save yourself the frustration and use another company.
Planning a wedding is a big deal and A Touch of You proved to be well worth the time and effort necessary to make our special day a success. As I was your regular DIY bride, I was able to plan my own wedding with aid and support from Taryn as she was very helpful in guiding me throughout the process. Whether you are a DIY bride or someone who wants to hire a planner to get the job done for you...A Touch of You wedding planning services can help you achieve the wedding of your dreams. When things got crazy, (and trust me, they will) Taryn was there to help put my worries at ease, assuring me that everything will be okay! She listened to all my crazy, "OCD" antics and special requests, with my very long and very detailed list of "to-dos," and turned my vision into an unforgettable reality. My husband and I, (along with all of my family, my crew, and my friends) were so very happy and pleased with how everything turned out at our wedding, many of them (and us) are still talking about it to this day. Everyone was filled with so much love and happiness on our special day, it made us so very happy because really that was the goal all along. It was definitely a day we will never forget and for that we are so thankful for Taryn and her team for being there every step of the way, for working hard to make sure all my details were carried out! So no matter what kind of wedding you're thinking of having, there is no job too big or small, crazy or simple, easy or hard, that Taryn and A Touch of You Weddings can't handle.
We knew from the very start that wedding coordinator services was something we would definitely need. We were planning a wedding in Hawaii from Nebraska, and it was not going to be a "destination wedding" since most of my family lives in Hawaii (I'm from there). My husband and I also knew we wanted someone we could trust to give an idea or theme and let them run with it.
Taryn and her team did an AMAZING job on the day of the wedding. Everything went smoothly, (or if there were any issues Taryn and her team handled it without me or my husband knowing) and Taryn and her team are super professional while remaining friendly and calming/reassuring. They went above and beyond and even ran to Walgreens to print out photos that were needed for the ceremony. Taryn also brought my husband his favorite Honolulu Cookie Company cookies when we couldn't have it as part of the wedding.
Throughout the planning process, Taryn was supportive, reassuring, and a strong advocate for what we wanted/our vision when it came time to work with the venue and vendors. Although there were a few times throughout the year or so where communication wasn't as consistent (understandably, life happens, people can't be on their jobs 24/7 365), everything turned out perfectly in the end.
Taryn also works with absolutely talented vendors, and from the meetings it's obvious there is a sense of respect and partnership between both parties. Taryn's ability to build relationships with people makes her a strong advocate for her clients. We would highly recommend A Touch of You!
I met Taryn years ago because she was actually planning one of my good friend's wedding that I was a part of. From that first experience years ago getting to know her, I thought she was such a down to earth and easy going person to talk to. So many years later, I find myself engaged and planning to get married in a year. My fiance (now hubby 😉) and I were going back and forth on whether or not we needed a wedding planner. We finally decided after several months that we would for sure need someone for the day of coordination and the several months prior to our actual wedding date. And boy were we thankful that we did get one! I remembered Taryn and her team at A Touch of You from years ago, and inquired with her and scheduled a consultation. Taryn again was so easy to talk story with, and she asked us many questions about what we wanted for our wedding that we weren't even aware we should be thinking about! Her assistant Stephanie also was so amazing! She helped Taryn and I stay connected when I had questions about all the many different things along this whole planning a wedding journey, and helped reassure me that things were moving along and in place. Taryn also led us to many wonderful vendors that we were blessed with for our wedding day which included my bridal party ladies and my hair/makeup, photography, videography, floral, and linens. Then, the big wedding day finally approached! Words cannot express how thankful we were to have had the A Touch of You team especially on the day of our wedding! They worked so hard from early in the morning keeping everything moving and in place at the venue and at the hotel we were getting ready at, so that my husband and I could have a relaxing time enjoying our special day with our family and friends. As a bride, I can honestly say I was super relaxed and truly enjoyed every moment on my wedding day because of all the hard work Taryn, Steph, and the rest of the A Touch of You team took care of for us throughout the day. Just to be very upfront we did not use this planner, however that was because we got radio silence after the initial phone call. The contact we had was very pleasant and answered all questions, stated that she would put together a proposal with our budget in mind, and we were basically ready to sign with this company. However, a week went by and we heard nothing. I reached out via both email and phone asking if they needed anything else from us, and still got no response. It has now been over 1 month since our initial phone conversation and we never heard anything back. I understand that wedding planners get very busy and if the case was that they were unable to assist us or our date was already booked, so be it, however I just think it was very unprofessional for the lack of response to let us know.
This review is late, but Taryn and her team did such an awesome job that I felt I needed to write this. First off, we had the full planning package with Taryn. All our meetings with our various vendors was always full of laughs, and she made sure to keep us on point. My friends tell me how stressful the week leading up to the wedding is, but honestly it felt like I had nothing to do. And best of all, my wife was not stressed out. Taryn and her team did such an awesome job on the day of including doing a shopping run for us. My wife was feeling a little under the weather on the day of the wedding, but her team went out and got medicine for her. She made our day so special and we will cherish the memories of our awesome day.
Working with Taryn was our wedding destiny! We were referred to her through Loren at Marry You in Hawaii, which is where we found our amazing officiant Brutus La Benz. We spoke with Loren about where we were in our planning process and she highly recommended we look into getting a day of coordinator. We were very DIY and on a tight budget for our wedding so we initially thought we would just handle all of the day-of madness ourselves. We are sooooo glad we listened to Loren and got in touch with Taryn! After speaking to her one time over the phone we felt so much relief from our wedding anxieties. We went through our vendor list with her and she assured us we were in great hands. She helped guide us through the last 2 months of planning and held a rehearsal for us the day before. She was there the day of along with her associate Stephanie to take care of EVERY LITTLE DETAIL. They took care of us the entire day, made sure we were happy and even hydrated (it was super hot that day). They handled all of the set up for the ceremony and reception and did a beautiful job with our table decor. If you want your day to run smoothly and stress-free, Taryn and Stephanie are a must have!
We don't know what else to say besides the fact that they went above and beyond to make our day perfect! And by beyond... we mean BEYOND! When discussing rentals with Taryn I had mentioned wanting to rent some beautiful goblets but ultimately ended up not getting them for budget reasons. To our surprise, Taryn was able to acquire them for us! It may not sound like a big deal but it meant a lot to us and it was such a thoughtful gesture. And it didn't even end with our wedding day. The following day, Cary lost his wedding ring while snorkeling on the beach. We were able to find a new one just like it. Thanks to Taryn, she was able to put us in touch with our officiant again to have him do a little mini ceremony for the new ring.

My wife and I preferred to get married shortly after our engagement and gave ourselves a little over 6 months to plan everything. We didn't know much about what we wanted in our wedding and really didn't realize the stress it took to plan it all. We often referred to this site and other Google searches to see what needed to be done. About 4 months left until our selected wedding date, we got Taryn on board, and what a relief it was to have her now. Taryn and her team are amazing! Taryn helped us out from the very start by meeting with us and also communicating over frequent calls, texts, and emails about everything. She is very knowledgeable in her craft and knew we could trust her after our first meeting. During that first meeting a few months before our wedding, we still really didn't have much in mind as far as ideas. The only thing we knew for sure was that we wanted an intimate and budget friendly wedding. Through Taryn's suggestion, we chose to get married at Cafe Julia and we LOVED IT! It exceeded our expectation and the main reason behind that is all the hard work Taryn and her team put into our wedding behind the scenes, and how easy it was to work with Keli'i from Cafe Julia as well! Our family and friends continue to rave about our wedding to this day on how beautiful it was. She even did favors for us like giving our guests in the seating aisles bubbles to blow right after the kiss, and provided a light projector that had projected our names and wedding date on the wall!
One thing that really stood out to me was how tirelessly Taryn and her team worked behind the scenes to make everything so much smoother than we would've imagined. She really perfected her craft and pays attention to even the slightest details that the bride and groom would otherwise overlook during their big day. The way they set up our ceremony, how quick and effortless they transitioned the venue from ceremony to reception, and even how spot-on they were with the clean up process was really top notch. This is the letter I sent to Taryn in January after being forced to terminate her service due to lack of response & breach of contract.
"I am shocked & deeply disappointed in the unprofessional way you conduct your business & your lack of consideration for your clients.
I selected your business because of your stellar reviews, & I booked with you because you were quick to reply & your message was personal & enthusiastic. I was excited to meet you & discuss my dreams for this event that I would pour a lot of thought, time, & money into. I was slightly alarmed that our first phone call was delayed by 5 hours due to a personal conflict on your end, but I decided to let that go. We discussed a list of tasks that we would fulfill for one another. I sent you mine within the same evening, & you were to answer within the upcoming week. 8 days went by & I checked in with you, wherein you promised a reply within the next couple of days. 5 more days went by & I reached out to you again for a status update. Again, you promised a reply by the end of that week. That was the last I heard from you - one month ago - despite my reaching out to you numerous times since, to give you the opportunity to come through at the last minute. I knew you were on a family vacation & I respected your time off, but you did not do the same for me. You knew I was flying to Hawaii from across the country to meet with vendors & work with you on my upcoming event. You made commitments to deliver on rental estimates, schedule tastings & visitations/consultations, & attend appointments with me. You did none of these things. You did not even send me your preferred vendor list, which would have only been a simple email. I was very confused by your intentional disregard for a paying client.
Then I have to find out on Instagram that you took the month of December off. While there is no fault in that in itself, the problem is that you didn't tell me! You took my deposit, kept making promises you never intended to see through, & then you disappeared!
I could not believe all of this was happening to me. Then I read Rhea G's review posted on The Knot on 6/15/17... you did the exact same thing to her! This is shameful & unacceptable.
I am kindly asking that you send back my deposit. You have not fulfilled any of the services outlined in your contract. You have caused me huge amounts of stress & anxiety as I waited for your replies that never came, only to send me scrambling the week before and during my trip to Hawaii to contact & book appointments with vendors that you were supposed to have reached out to a month ago, but none of them had heard from you. I truly hope you can understand what you have put me through."
We made multiple attempts to contact her prior to sending this letter, but there was no response. She never acknowledged our calls or emails or this termination.

Taryn planned a game for my husband at the reception and the game turned out to be a hit! Everyone at the wedding enjoyed watching this game happen! I am so glad my husband and I hired Taryn and her amazing staff. From the very beginning she was such a big help. We contacted her two years before our actual wedding date and from the first meeting we knew we wanted her on our team. She has an amazing vision and understood exactly what we imagined our dream wedding would be and brought that vision to life. We trusted her with the selecting the vendors we needed, as we didn't have time to meet with a bunch of different ones, and everyone exceeded our expectations. Long overdue. I’ve known Taryn for such a long time and I’m so glad that we had her and her team do our day of/month of coordination. My husband and I needed someone who would make executive decisions, be the boss and kind of figure things out in those moments when things didn’t go as plan. She did just that and on our wedding day, and even the days leading us to our day, we were stress free. My husband and i had planned most of our wedding ourselves and even though Taryn was our month of coordinator, she was there every step of the way to answer question and look over things for us. When we handed everything over, we knew we were in great hands. Walking into our venue and the reception after the ceremony was the best. It was everything we could’ve dreamed of.
Taryn is simply amazing, she’s come to the rescue too many times to count. From dealing with crazy vendors throughout to all the last minute day of craziness. She was there for us through the passing of my father in law and was so awesome with helping us change our wedding date and contracts with all our vendors. She didn’t mind the hundreds of text messages a day and always reassured me when I started to freak out. My only regret is stressing out so much when this sensational woman already had it all figured out. She worked great with us, our mothers and especially our daughter. I honestly couldn't have done it without her! Some couples may think they don't need a wedding coordinator, but let me tell you, she was a life saver!
My husband, Chris was deployed for 7 months and came home 1 month before our wedding day. Stress was an understatement. I had no idea what I was doing, I was freaking out about how much we were spending and trying to keep in budget, etc. All I had to do was text/call Taryn just for her to remind me to BREATHE and that everything was going to be okay. Chris at one point even thought me and Taryn were getting married instead of me and him, hahaha!
So many unexpected things happened the week of the wedding that I thought I wanted to just throw in the towel and just elope lol. I can laugh about it now, but it wasn't funny at the time. But Taryn just took care of it all and made everything happen the way it was originally planned in the end.
Taryn and her team are just soooo bomb at their job! They do exactly what they say they do. Everything ran smoothly and if there was anything that went wrong, I had no idea lol. Her timeline that she set up for us (especially the fun stuff) had our family and friends rolling for days! TARYN (A Touch of You) IS TRULY THE BEST!!!! From the initial meet-up to even after the wedding, Taryn has been AMAZING! My wife and I live in California but had our wedding in Hawaii. Even though we lived out of state, Taryn made wedding planning fun and convenient.
I proposed to my wife in December 2017 and we wanted to have our wedding in May 2018 (just five months away), so everything was on short notice. We contacted and met Taryn for the first time in January 2018, just 4 months before the wedding. From that point on, communication was done through calling/texting/emailing/skyping. She attended vendor meetings on our behalf and included us through skyping. It was reassuring to hear when other vendors would ask who our wedding coordinator was and when we said "Taryn," they would immediately say we made a great choice. Throughout the planning process, Taryn gave us a lot of tips, input, and insight on things we didn't even think we needed/wanted. And most importantly, she took care of us despite our crazy procrastination lol. What made Taryn stand out was her fun, laughing, and spontaneous attitude!
During our rehearsal, she made everything easy to follow and gave pointers (like how to hold the bouquet, where to stand, how fast to walk, etc). She even provided everyone with an easy to follow cheatsheet/timeline for the wedding day (which proved to be super helpful because everyone knew where to go and at what time).
On our wedding day, everything fell into place beautifully. Taryn and her team took care of all our little wedding accessories so we didn't have to worry about them. She made sure we had ample time to take pictures of everyone we wanted at the chapel. We will never forget our 'first-look' of the ballroom. IT WAS SPECTACULAR! We would have never thought our wedding would be so elegant yet grand, but Taryn made it happen! Taryn and her team made the reception fun and full of surprises! We got a lot of compliments, some even saying it was the "Best wedding ever!" Taryn made our wedding day the happiest day of our lives. She has made such a lasting impact on us that my wife and I couldn't stop complimenting her work during our honeymoon haha.

We hired Taryn atleast about a year ago to help us plan our wedding. She was recommended by my previous manager. Read so many good reviews about her and the company (a touch of You). The first time we met her, we already knew she’s the one to hire. She goes to every detail explaining everything, from all the vendors, venue, food, etc. My husband and I had always have a pretty tight sched. and she was able to work things out for us. We were so comfortable with her and even our son had fun working with her too. We trusted her from the beginning till the end. No regrets at all. The day of the wedding, everything was unexpected, from ceremony to reception area. My husband. I and even our families and friends were amazed with all her work. I couldn’t thank you enough for what you and your company had done in order for us to experienced a well organized and very entertaining wedding. Taryn and the 'Touch of You' team were what help we needed for having a destination wedding on Oahu, in Waikiki Beach. On our initial call Taryn was really bubbly and I selected her because she said I could text her freely during our planning process and was really sweet. We had the 50/50 package. Needing a planner if doing a destination wedding is just crucial because we weren't able to be in Hawaii to physically check out all the vendors. Also Taryn's team is able to prep all the details so you don't have to worry.
I did have a patch months prior to the wedding where I texted her and she didn't reply for weeks until I was actually worried but we did end up touching base and getting on track with the wedding planning. Looking back my worries were tied to needing a check in from her and just not familiar with the whole wedding planner / bride relationships prior to the 30 day countdown to the wedding day. The end result was still a nice wedding planned by her.
I suggest hiring A Touch of You for your destination wedding day whether your venue requires a coordinator or not.
Pros:
-They take care of all the important coordinating efforts of the day, they helped me be the go between in potentially stressful issues on that day so I can focus on the wedding. This was big.
- They helped find local vendors and help save on some fees.
- They have existing relationships with my wedding hotel's planner
Cons:
-It was a little hard to get a hold of Taryn a couple times months prior to the 30 days until the wedding day.
- The rehearsal went okay but they gave us mistyped rehearsal sheets (wrong hotel info, times) which confused my mother in law and mom but we sorted it out amongst the bridal party.

She was so great at demonstrating and explaining individual and group responsibilities. I felt comfortable as my best friend maid of honor, being mindful that it was my first time. She was easy to communicate with and i was able to clarify any questions without hesitation. She really kept me on my toes throughout the wedding day.
She was also very caring , friendly, and supportive.
The reception went accordingly and smoothly thanks to her organization and she was overall fantastic! (: I would highly recommend her if anyone’s is in need of a great wedding coordinator! (:
I cannot say enough about Taryn and her staff from A Touch of You!!!! I'm the mother of the bride and the day of my daughter's wedding they took care of everything possible. To having to move the ceremony inside due to rain. They were able to get a room set up for the ceremony and although I would have loved it to be outside, the room it was in was set up beautifully!!!!
As the mother of the bride I felt that I would be stressing over all the little details besides all the other things we normally stress about the day of the wedding. Taryn made that day such a memorable one!!! I was able to relax and just enjoy my daughter's day!!!

Where do I even begin? First off I want to truly from the bottom of our hearts thank Taryn and her team for making our wedding dreams come true and come to life!
Well for starters I knew Taryn since I was about 13 years old! And when she started her business I always said I would be coming to her when it was my time to get married! And 12 years later I did just that! I reached out to Taryn a few months after my husband and I got engaged. She set up a meeting with us and we talked for a good 2 hours. She asked questions as to what we already had done, things we wanted done, our vision for our big day. She helped us choose a florist, a DJ/Emcee, and a cake company. Those were really the only vendors we hadn’t secured when she started to help us. But the 3 vendors that she did set us up with were absolutely amazing!!! Our florist was amazing and the flowers/lei she had for us were to die for!! I loved everything about it!! The DJ and Emcee seriously were hilarious and had everyone entertained for our entire wedding! And our cake was so simple and beautiful and even featured our little fur baby who couldn’t be at our wedding.
In the months leading up to the wedding we were in contact with Taryn more than ever. Asking her opinions on what she thought of these ideas. She would give her professional opinion and we always ended up going with what she said. About a month and a half before the wedding she started to create our day of timeline so that all of our vendors would know what was going on. She added things in there we had never even thought of and she added some games for our reception that really set the tone of our wedding!
The morning of our wedding I truly felt so at ease knowing that Taryn and her team were handling EVERYTHING! That day Taryn only called me once. And it wasn’t to ask me anything besides how I was doing and feeling. ♥️ she was in touch with my bridal party the whole day. In the hours before the wedding the weather got really bad and it was just a down pour. Taryn made sure to inform Hale Koa that our ceremony would now take place inside a ballroom and not in the garden. She made sure that our new ceremony space was set up to be just as beautiful as it would have been outside! And quite honestly after getting married inside i preferred it so much more than outside. So i guess when it rains on your wedding day it really is a blessing!
Our reception space was absolutely beautiful! When it came to picking our Linens taryn gave us her suggestions like which sash color to choose and she even told us as a special touch we should choose different linens for our parent tables. So she had all these ideas added such a special touch that my husband and i would not have thought of! She even had wood laser cut outs with my husband and i’s name and on our parents table everyone got one too!
Taryn and her team made sure everything in our reception ran smoothly and there was never any dead space or dead air.
I know this review is especially long but my husband and I are truly so grateful for the job that Taryn and her girls did. We still cannot get over our big day and how everything was truly more than we ever imagined it to be. Everyone i know that is getting married i will 110% recommend Taryn to them!!!
My husband and I hired A Touch Of You (Taryn) for full-service planning for our wedding. After our first meeting, I just knew that she realized my vision. We trusted her to select each vendor (we didn't want or have the time to meet with multiple florists or anything like that) so she chose the ones that she thought would be the best fit, and then coordinated the actual planning meetings for us to attend with them. One meeting with each vendor - and a handful of intermittent meetings with Taryn over the course of the year that we were planning the wedding. That was all. As a control-freak (which I am a MAJOR one), it was scary to relinquish full control to her - but it was the best thing we could have ever done!! OUR WEDDING DAY WAS PERFECT. Perfect isn't even a good enough word. She surpassed our expectations and gave us the most beautiful, stress-free wedding I could have ever imagined. Taryn is a perfectionist down to Every.Last.Detail lol, and for that I am so grateful. Our wedding was big (300+ people) and we had a lot going on in the overall program. The A Touch Of You Team with Taryn as their fearless leader made the whole thing go so smoothly and seem so effortless (although I KNOW they worked hard to make it that way). Thank you so much to Taryn and the whole team for everything! You guys are total ROCKSTARS at what you do!!!
My (now) husband & I booked quite a few vendors on our own then hired Taryn for 50/50 coordination meaning that she would take over & do the rest. In our initial meeting & a couple of initial emails she was decently responsive but that changed once we made a deposit. Once we made the deposit we didn’t even hear from her. I sent her an email but didn’t get a response till over a month later. Furthermore, we had to keep encouraging her to begin the planning process. Taryn was so difficult to get a hold of. On multiple occasions it took her months to respond (if at all). She took so long to do anything for us that we decided we needed to do things on our own to get the process going. We kept her in the loop about everything we were doing via email but of course she barely responded. For the few meetings we did have with her, she showed up late to EVERY one of them. She had excuses for everything. At one point, Taryn told us she was working on setting up meetings with other vendors and asked us to give her our available dates. We provided her with our dates (which were flexible) but then wouldn’t hear back from her and those dates would pass! Then she asked us for a new set of dates. Again, we did not hear a response and those dates would pass. This happened three times! Ultimately we had to book all but two of our own venders. We did her job for her. It was so ridiculous that I had to send her an amicable email stating that she never provided the services in her contract. I informed her that we wanted to end her services and asked for our deposit back. I sent this via email but OF COURSE, received no response. I also sent it via mail, text, and privately through social media. Still nothing! Someone who has pride in their work would respond and at least try to defend them self. She just did nothing and kept our deposit. It’s probably because she knows she was wrong. Also, I find it strange that it’s so hard for her to respond to her clients yet she is very active on social media. I read bad reviews on her but I foolishly disregarded them. Consider them red flags and don’t hire her! Taryn wasn’t even available to offer simple advice. Taryn ONLY added stress on us. Save yourself the time, money, and stress and hire someone with terrific reviews, someone you can count on. There’s a reason she has some TERRIBLE reviews. Don’t risk it.
SHORT VERSION: Takes forever to respond (if at all). Does not know the details of what’s going on. Did not keep us within budget. Came late to every meeting. Full of excuses. Waste of time.

My husband and I believed we could plan the wedding by ourselves and with a little help from family. We weren’t planning on getting a wedding coordinator. Around 6 months out from our wedding, our schedules began to get hectic. I immediate began researching for a day-of wedding coordinator and stumbled upon A Touch of You. After meeting with Taryn and A Touch of You, we felt we made the right decision. Taryn and her team helped tremendously with planning and day-of coordination. My Fiance and I decided to have a destination wedding since I proposed in Honolulu and we've been going to the island for a few years.
Taryn was able to give us direction and keep us within budget.
She has a great list of vendors to choose from or if you desire someone else that's not on her list she can work with them as well.
Since we had already chosen our venue and they were able to provide all the catering, ceremony, seating and dining needs all we had to do was choose our photographer, flowers, Photo-booth and Officiant.
We were able pick everyone from Taryn's list of vendors.
Once we were able to secure everything for our special day, all it took was a few regular phone calls between us and Taryn to keep everything on track.
When we went to Honolulu a month before the wedding to meet all our vendors, Taryn was able to schedule everything within a 2 day span with some time left in the day to just enjoy the beach or run some errands.
The day of the wedding rehearsal, Taryn had everyone and everything moving smoothly.
On the day of our wedding, everything seemed to move like a well oiled machine. The timeline we were given a few days earlier were very helpful to the whole wedding party.
Taryn kept us informed of everything that we needed to know. She was able to give us directions and had everything prepared for us, so we didn't have to stress over anything( except a pair of "lost keys") at the end of the night. She even helped us look for the keys.

It has been almost 4 months since our weeding and I am still so pleased with how the day went. Working with Taryn the whole process has been amazing. She basically did everything only leaving us to make decisions. Having to plan large activities for my job, it was a great relief to have her helping me with through this process taking a lot of stress off of my shoulders. On the day/morning of the wedding all I remember was being very relaxed and calm (not your typical bride) all of my friends were expecting me to be strung out and stressed out of my mind but they were shocked. This was all due to the great and wonderful Taryn and her amazing team. She did so much for us and helped pull together my vision I had for the day. When I arrived at the reception site I was overwhelmed with how exact everything was to what I always had wanted. If you want someone who will take on everything and is very approachable and friendly Taryn is definitely the one to go with.
First of all, if you are planning a wedding out of state, I highly suggest hiring a wedding planner! Hiring a planner who is very familiar with the area, knows multiple vendors and has close relationships with them is something that can help relieve a lot of stress when it comes to planning a wedding from afar. I hired Taryn and her team a year before our July 2017 wedding at Aulani Disney Resort. I messaged through her website and she contacted me within the next day to schedule a phone conversation. We had a consult over the phone and I immediately knew that she would definitely take care and fulfill our Hawaii wedding vision. During our initial conversation, I felt so comfortable with her. Her down-to-earth personality made it feel like she was a long time friend of mine, which made communication easy for me (especially when I needed to inquire about something or had concerns at weird times of the day). She had done multiple events at Aulani, so she knew what would be best for us.
I decided on her “Touched” package and I thought it was a very reasonable price. She took care of finding ALL my vendors within budget. I sent her photos of ideas for our wedding and I trusted her in making it a reality. There were times when it was hard to get a hold of her through texts and emails, but she did eventually get back to me. She did meet with vendors for me and followed up and contacted me with the options. She accommodated my last minute changes on things like floral and linen color and made sure I was happy with it!
I did meet her in person six months before the wedding. I flew out to Oahu to meet with her, meet some vendors, and visit the ceremony and reception site at the resort. I met with her multiple times in Hawaii during that trip to make sure we had everything down. During our meeting with her made my stress level practically nonexistent. Of course as the wedding came near, it was inevitable that my stress level was high, but she reassured me that everything was on point.
On the day of the wedding, she executed that day so well! She, along with her team, were there from beginning to end! We were so grateful for her work and making our wedding such an amazing and memorable time! I didn’t have to think about anything. She took care of all the timeline and vendors that entire day. She even had little surprises for us that we were not expecting! A Touch of You did an excellent job with coordinating our perfect Hawaii wedding!
We hired A Touch of You for day of coordination and I must say it was the best decision that we made. Taryn and her team made the day go so smoothly I didn't have to worry about anything . They went above and beyond our expectations, making our wedding day perfect!!! We love the A Touch of You Team!!!
Taryn was AWESOME!! She was soo helpful from the very beginning of the wedding planning process. I would text her and call her at all times throughout the day, and she would reply in a timely manner. She gave us helpful tips and advice when it came to things we weren't sure about or needed a second opinion. On the day of the wedding, Stephanie, Pili, and Makanani were there when we needed anything.. even things like retouching my make up since I kept crying so hard or fixing my dress because it kept twisting. They went above and beyond to help us make sure everything went smoothly. They worked with the Halekulani staff, the vendors, and us to make sure we are all on the same page. I'm very thankful that we had A Touch Of You coordinate our wedding.. they really took the stress off and we were able to relax the entire day!! Thanks again Taryn, we LOVE you guys!! <3
Taryn and her team did an amazing job with coordinating and planning our wedding. She was always on top of things and very accommodating to what and how we wanted for our big day. There were times my wife and I felt so overwhelmed with just the little things, but with Taryn's ability and professionalism she was able to left that weight off our shoulders. Taryn is a busy woman but always managed to make time to meet us somewhere for 1-on-1 meetings to discuss, plan, and provide us with updates.
All in all we had a blast working with Taryn and the A Touch of You team. My wife and I are very greatful to have had Taryn help and guide us along the way up to our big day.

Hiring Taryn as our wedding planner was the best decision we made! At first, I thought I'd be able to go through the whole wedding planning and wedding day without a planner because I already knew exactly what vendors I wanted and how I wanted everything done and I have a big family to help me out. As I was inquiring with vendors, I was able to book a few by myself but the most important vendors that I wanted didn't respond back. Come to find out they only work specifically through Taryn and she was able to book those vendors for me! Not only was she able to pull through with those vendors that I REALLY wanted, but she was super nice and organized! I can't tell you how many people from family, friends, and co-workers to complete strangers who knew I was wedding planning told me that I looked great and that I don't look stressed at all! I would even tell myself, is everything going to be ok? Shouldn't I be stressing like most brides? LOL but no, even the day of the wedding was perfect. It was everything I dreamed of and more (she surprised us with nice chargers and rose decor for me and my hubby on our head table) just those little extra touches made us feel so special! Taryn and her staff literally go above and beyond to make sure your wedding perfect.... and ours sure was. Thanks to Taryn and her staff! We can't thank her enough!
I found all vendors thru reviews and referrals. Taryn had really great reviews and decided I wanted to meet her. First meeting was great. Fiancé and I were thrilled to have her be a planner. I was really disappointed on Taryn's lack of communication especially when I've contacted her numerous times thru e-mails and texts! I would ask her questions about timelines, invitations, etc. I got nothing. After about the 4 month countdown, I kept reaching out to her asking her about when to send invitations, that I also needed linens, didn't even have my flowers, etc. These were the vendors that I needed because I booked all the others before I hired Taryn. After only hearing from Taryn one other time after the cake meeting, I started to feel stressed out. I had no flowers, no invitations to send out, no linens and it was the 3 month countdown. I had my bachelorette party out of island and thought she would reach out while I was gone for a long weekend. I got nothing. Contacted her again after I got back to the island and nothing. This time, it was the 2 month countdown. After that, kept contacting her asking her about flowers, linens, what time the ceremony will start, some kind of timeline because my other vendors were asking me for them. I just had enough. I was feeling really stressed and overwhelmed and felt like I didn't want to have this wedding anymore. I finally had enough! I read thru her contract and sent her an e-mail on all the things that she didn't provide in her contract including all the times we communicated in the beginning and all the time I tried reaching out to her. I finally decided to cancel her services. After following-up with her to ask if she had received my e-mail about cancelling her services, she was very apologetic. But, it was already less than 2 months until the wedding and she had done nothing for me. She continued to tell me that she would finish her part for the rest of the week. But, she had nothing to finish because she didn't start anything. So, I have been asking for a compromise on possibly getting my deposit back and I have yet to get a response. An answer would be nice. I've contacted her thru phone calls, text, e-mails. Nothing. As a business woman, I would think that she would at least respond to me especially when a deposit money was given to her and she hasn't done anything with her services. It truly is unprofessional. I do regret hiring her for my wedding planner and I hope no one else has to go thru what I went thru and what I'm currently going thru. My only hope is that she can be the bigger person and respond. I wish I could write more to this review, but...it would take me all day to go thru every little detail since our first contact.
This review is overdue! Words cannot express how amazing Taryn has been to us! She is definitely one of kind, one of the best on the island, and she is definitely in-demand! From day one of consulting with her, my husband & I knew she was "the one" to help with our once in a lifetime big day! She has nothing but good vibes, a positive attitude, and genuine aloha spirit to help you ease your wedding planning worries away. I have never planned a big event before, and Taryn covered all bases, knew all the little things that can be overlooked, or never even thought about.
My husband & I don't live in Hawaii anymore, we live in New York City, and you wouldn't think it would be easy planning from afar, especially with the time difference. I was the worried and anxious type of bride, there were times when it was hard to get in touch with her, my now-husband would always reassure me "to trust her, she will take care of it." Let me tell you she did! Taryn put everything to ease, arranged appointments with multiple vendors, and met with us every time we came to visit Hawaii. It made planning our wedding easier and absolutely fun! We've had many late night Facetime meetings cause I am such an indecisive person, I could not decide on my flowers or napkin color!! I kept going back and forth between dusty millers and some kind of Italian leaf, and she & the florist made it so much easier to decide. Hahaha!
Fast forward to our wedding week, she was on it! Taryn and her amazing team took care of everything! If there was something that wasn't going according to plan, we would have never known that it happened! She & another member of her team held on to my 8 month old niece for my sister/MOH so we could walk down the aisle during the ceremony. Also my 3yo nephew/ringbearer was really fussy, he didn't want to wear the Nike Jordan sneakers we provided him to wear, she gave him a pep-talk to wear it just to walk down the aisle, and he was so agreeable cause she promised him candy at the end of the aisle! =)
She was with us the whole time, from our hotel room as we were getting ready, she fixed the train of my wedding dress before I walked down the aisle, she fixed my veil as we took our portraits, and she dusted off my sandy feet at the beach and helped me change into my wedding sneakers.
I'm not trying to brag, but our wedding was THE BOMB!!! We & all our guests had a blast! From the decor, to the bar, food, linen, the DJ, the MC, ancillary staff, etc... she truly helped our luxurious vision come to life! She even added surprise extra details to our sweetheart table ... Now 5 months later, we consistently receive compliments on how beautiful & fun our wedding was, and how it was the best wedding they've ever been to! I'm gonna start from the very beginning, we met Taryn in 2014, we were referred to her from a friend. Being that we were newly engaged pretty nervous on our first meeting with "The Wedding Planner." But to our surprise our very first of many meetings at our favorite store Target😍we meet this amazing, bright full, full of positive energy woman that we instantly connected with, we came with our ideas and budgets and she just understood and worked with us through it all. We originally had set our wedding for December of 2016 but wanting to push it back to March 11th,2017. Which was the best decision we had made thus far. During our 3years of planning met with some amazing vendors, but what I love most about Taryn is that she knew what I wanted and if I wasn't into it she already knew the look on my face lol. No words needed, yea Taryn? 🤣 in the end we in my opinion got the best of the best for our special day. Ese and I have gained such an amazing relationship with Taryn she became family to us literally. She was my calming place when I was stressed out to the max, to being my voice of reasoning when I wanted to literally cancel my wedding weeks prior to our wedding day, to just being an amazing friend who I could always count on especially our many meetings to target & Starbucks🙌 I miss it all and I'm so sad yet happy that our wedding is over. So much memories that were made but it's truly a bittersweet moment for us. We've gained an amazing friend who will always be apart of our family. I would like to start out by saying, Taryn is absolutely amazing at what she does! Thinking back now, a month and a half later I am still in absolute awe of my wedding day! Everything from start to finish would not have been possible without her. I had a small intimate wedding of just 100 people and in the beginning of planning, I had thought because it was so intimate I wouldn't need a wedding coordinator. Let me tell you, we’re so very happy and grateful that we ended up being able to work with Taryn. She wasn't just some person helping us plan our special day, it really felt like she was just one of our close friends and It was easy to put all our faith and trust in her. Our wedding day was everything we could have ever dreamed of and MORE.
The week of my wedding was very interesting. From myself, my husband and my two children having the stomach flu, my MIL being admitted to the hospital all the way up until the big day and my Grandmothers passing just that Saturday before, she held it all together for me. My mind was definitely clouded and she reassured me that all would work out, everything was taken care of and I had nothing to worry about. On the big day, all we had to do was show up. We did nothing but relax, have fun, get ourselves and bridal party ready. Taryn took care of EVERYTHING, down to all the little details and I truly believe that's how it should be. As a bride, all I wanted to do was soak it all in and enjoy every moment and I was able to do so because of Taryn. If you are searching for someone you can trust to make all your dreams come true, Taryn and her team are the ones who can do it! I can't thank her enough for bringing all my ideas to life and for making sure my big day was everything I could have ever dreamed of.

Taryn is the best! I seriously don't know where to begin with this review. I heard so much about her through people and my now, husband, and I decided to email her a year ago. Her responses were quick and she was willing to meet half way. From the first day I met her, she has been so sweet and funny! She knew what she was doing and she was on point with everything. She has helped me with getting most of my vendors and was always there to talk to whenever I needed to ask her something. She is so bubbly and friendly!
A year of planning with her, the day has finally come and I must say, I was completely in "Awe" and speechless. Everything was what I pictured in head and she turned my vision into real life. Her and her team has worked so hard and her communication with all the vendors was on point. Especially having to come back on vacation for two weeks, she worked everything out. (She deserved that vacation though, lol!)

I tried my best to do things before asking her because I know she is super busy with other stuff but she would always tell me don't be afraid to ask or it's her job to help me with everything, lol! We booked Taryn after some research and a FaceTime interview, almost 1 year prior to our wedding. As we knew that we would be planning most of it from Germany, we knew that we needed some feet on the ground.
Taryn has been a great resource of incredible vendors. We really appreciate every vendor she has brought forward and ultimately went with most (if not all) of her No.1 choices. We clearly stated that we were running on a budget and she was able to meet our requirements on most of the vendors. She accompanied us to most vendors, such as flowers, party rentals or food and was a great help there as well. She really has lots of experience and a great relation with her vendors that clearly helps out tremendously in the preparation and the day-of.
Taryn also is a great day-of coordinator that makes sure that you are experiencing no stress whatsoever on your wedding day as she is running around, accompanied by her assistant, to make sure everything runs smoothly. She did a great job for us on our wedding day!
The only thing that really gave me a headache in the preparation period was her low availability by phone or email. At times we were not able to reach her for days or even weeks, despite multiple phone calls, texts and emails. Being so far away from it all, this created quite some stress for us, especially as we did not know when and if she would reply to us and whether she was still on our case.
All in all we really enjoyed having her with us during this experience and all personal interactions with her have been nothing but lovely, but to us the inconsistent level of availability was a source of concern at times.
Taryn and her team was very helpful and made sure things followed the timeline on the day of and leading up to the date. I was happy she was open to my suggestions and didn't just disregard my opinions for the timeline of the day. It was nice to know that she thought of things that I forgot and made sure I didn't know or have to handle the issues that came up on the day of.
This review is long over due!! We used Taryn for day of coordination. We planned everything from Vegas and the days coming up to the wedding she definitely eased our minds once we arrived on Oahu. She completely took everything out of our hands and put our planning together with her perfect touches. She definitely made our wedding day as imagined and more. If there was anything that could've been a brides nightmare the day of she was on top of it and handled everything without me having to worry about a thing. There are no words to describe how thankful we are and to describe the amazing job that Taryn did leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day. Her team let me, my husband, and all of our guests enjoy our special day.
I was going back home to Hawaii for my wedding, and I had to plan it as if it were a destination wedding. Therefore, all of the planning had to be done from the mainland. I was looking for a wedding planner/coordinator I could easily communicate with, that would take over the process 4-6 weeks from the big day, who could assist us with booking our vendors, and be our day of coordinator. I had contacted Taryn about 8 months prior to our big day, and after our first telephone conversation, I knew that she was "the one."
I booked her about 7 month prior. Taryn's motto is "I got you girl!" And she did! She helped us to finalize the outstanding vendors, to create our day of timeline and provided day of coordination. Despite the 3 hour time difference, it was easy to contact her whether it was via telephone, text or email. About 4-6 weeks before the wedding, Taryn became heavily involved to where she would communicate with our vendors on our behalf. She made sure that all of the little details were taken care of, and with the vendors, she created our day of timeline. With our florist, Taryn created a beautiful sweetheart table and even added a few personalized touches to our table.
We flew in 4 days before our wedding, and Taryn understood that our availability was tight. She worked around our schedule, and met with us to finalize the timeline. She ran our rehearsal, and made everyone in our wedding party (including the parents) feel at ease. She even helped the groom and groomsmen with their pocket squares. Trust me, a month later, the boys (groom and the 2 groomsmen) missed her at the next wedding they were a part of. They didn't have Taryn there to do their pocket squares again!
The day of the wedding was ran smoothly was on schedule. With the groom and as a surprise, they incorporated the SJ Sharks (my favorite team, #bleedteal) into the garter toss! I couldn't believe it!
Many don't want to spend the extra money on a wedding planner and day of coordinator. However, I highly advise doing so. They know and understand the intricacies in planning a wedding and help keep a bride sane! I highly recommend Taryn. She is sweet, easy to contact, organized, and helps you get the job done. If you want to enjoy and celebrate your wedding, Taryn is the one.
Taryn always said, "I got you girl!" She helped me book my videographer, and finalized my quote and paperwork with the florist. During the last 4-6 weeks, she communicated with our vendors (florist, photographer, music, videographer, makeup, venue) on our behalf, and ran our rehearsal.
Taryn created our day of timeline, printed pictures for our reception table, and created a beautiful table setting/arrangement for our sweetheart table. She even provided us with Tyffani (her assistant) to work at the sign in table so all of our guests could enjoy the cocktail hour.
Taryn volunteered her time and expertise to our non-profit as the coordinator for our biggest fundraiser of the year. This event is typically the most stressful event for the staff and volunteers to prepare and host a buffet dinner, program, entertainment, and silent auction at our campus in Kahala'u for over 300 guests. This was by far the least stressful event we have ever put on at our organization and that is all due to Taryn. Her ability to coordinate and organize the many moving parts made every team member to feel supported. Not only did Taryn organize the teams and but she added her own style and details to the event that took us to another level of beauty and class for our typically humble event. Taryn is a visionary who is easy to work with and who pays attention to all of the fine details that makes every event she is a part of special. Her calm demeanor also helped our team feel comfortable and prepared for our event and made all of the difference in allowing us to enjoy the event like we have never enjoyed it before. Taryn is magic and I wish we could add one more star to her rating - she'd deserve it.
Let me first just start off by saying that we are definitely NOT planning people! I think I may have planned one movie outing with my friends in 4th grade, and that was it. My husband's definition of planning is just for everyone to show up :/ So thank GOODNESS there are people like Taryn in this world who just ooze organization!
From the very first day meeting her, we could tell that she was passionate about what she does. I'm the type that will Pinterest and Etsy my wedding away, but when it comes to the execution, I always put it off for later. Taryn kept me on task and offered support when I wanted to DIY certain aspects of our wedding. She was never pushy, always supportive, and made wedding planning a breeze.
During the day of our wedding, she ensured that everything went smoothly. She safety pinned like crazy when the seamstress failed to properly attach the necessary loops to bustle my dress (I probably owe her 50 pins!) and handled last minute emergencies like when they found a roach in a box of (edible) favors that were delivered from an outside vendor! She didn't want to bother me on the day of, but while I was getting ready her team was busy repackaging favors, re-tying bows, and chasing away roaches!
If you are on the fence with wedding planners, I'd say definitely go with Taryn! Hiring her was by far one of the best decisions we've made :)
