Sylvia did an amazing job on my dress, at first I wasn't sure, but when I wore it, it was exactly how it should have been!! She had the vision I did not! It was perfect!!
I was first introduced to Sylvia to have a bridesmaid dress altered and she did a fabulous job. When it came time for me to get married, I did not want a wedding dress that anybody else would have so I asked her if she did custom designs and she did! I had a free consultation with her and brought some sample fabric. I told her what I was envisioning and she gave suggestions. The entire process was wonderful. She responds to texts very quickly, she never missed an appointment, was always friendly and helpful, and the quote she gave me was the price I paid. No hidden charges or last minute price increases. Best of all, my dress turned out PERFECT!! It fit perfect during the entire wedding day and looked stunning in the photographs. I could not be more happy with the experience. Not only do I have a custom, one of a kind wedding dress, but I also didn't have to break the bank. For any alterations or dry cleaning needs in the future, Sylvia will be the only person I trust. I will gladly recommend her to others as well!
I was referred by the shop where I bought my wedding dress as they bring her into their shop for fittings. I was not informed of what forms of payment were accepted. I used a credit card in the bridal shop to purchase my dress, and was unaware that I could not use a card to pay Sylvia until the end of my first fitting appointment when I was expected to pay half of the alterations with cash or check. Sylvia told me I could mail my payment to her. 2 weeks later, the check was not cashed, and I tried calling but it was near impossible to reach her. Her shop phone is connected to a fax machine and the 1 time I spoke with the other person in the shop, she couldn't answer my questions. I was told to call Sylvia's cell phone. She doesn't answer her phone and I left more than one message. I called the bridal shop. Since Sylvia is 3rd party, they didn't want to help at first but then offered to call Sylvia on my behalf to help get a hold of her. This took about a week's time. She finally returned my call and claimed she never received my check. I still find that difficult to believe as the envelope was not returned to me and I still don't know where it is to this day. I had to pay $25 to cancel the check for fear of someone forging it or even Sylvia forgetting that I paid her a second time and her cashing it. Since I was the one put out by all of this, I asked Sylvia to discount my alterations by $25 and she refused stating I should not have paid to cancel it because no one else but her can cash it. Fortunately, the bridal shop owner gave me the $25 as she had thought Sylvia would discount my services. Sylvia eventually discounted my services at the final fitting, but I reminded her that the bridal shop owner already took onus and gave me the $25 so I didn't take her additional $25 off because that would have been dishonest. Her alterations were only okay. There were wrinkles/bunching in the fabric where she didn't sew it right on the bodice and they are so visible in my photos which is really upsetting that she didn't alter it well enough to fit normally and she did not follow through with one thing I specifically asked her to do and had to have it done by my mom (it was inside the dress, but still she should have done it as I paid her to do it.
