10/10, no notes. Aaron knew how to capture all the little moments that lived in between the big ones. He didn’t just capture the traditional shot (the ceremony, dances, speeches, a...
nd all the other big moments) but some of our favorite photos are the ones that happened quietly: the exchanged glances, our parents’ reactions to big moments, the energy on the dance floor, and even the details of our venue that let us relive the day over and over.
One thing we especially appreciated was how proactive Aaron was about helping us make the most of our time. He came up with creative solutions to squeeze in photos throughout the day, which meant we could get all the shots we wanted without spending a huge portion of the wedding taking pictures. He was intentional about making sure we had the photos we’d want while also protecting time for us and our wedding party to actually enjoy the celebration, mingle, and be present with our guests.
He did a perfect job of making sure we had time to get all the important shots without overly engineering the timeline or making the day feel like one long photoshoot. His flexibility and ability to let things happen naturally rather than staging every moment was exactly what we wanted.
the final photos were more than we could have imagined. The film photos and double exposures are especially special and added something so unique to our gallery. It’s hard to find photographers in the area who do that style so well, and we are so glad we chose to have those included. The energy and emotion of every shot were captured so well, and it’s obvious that Aaron’s work is a reflection of how much passion he has for his art. It never felt like we were just another wedding or another job to him.
We are so grateful we chose Aaron to capture our wedding. Book him!
We hired Aaron for our engagement and wedding photos and we are so happy with our choice. Aaron is kind, professional, and incredibly talented. We got our photos back very quickly ...
and they are absolutely beautiful. He made us feel so comfortable and he truly captured the energy of the day. I would recommend Aaron to anyone!
We had the absolute pleasure of working with Aaron for a wedding a few weeks ago, and he exceeded every expectation! From our very first meeting with the couple, Aaron was professi...
onal, thoughtful, and intentional with every question he asked. On the wedding day, I felt completely confident that the couple was in GREAT hands with him and his team.
Aaron has a natural way of making couples feel relaxed and being extremely efficient with the larger group photos.
We've already received the sneak peeks, and they are absolutely stunning! His talent and attention to detail are truly remarkable. Aaron was a joy to work with, and we highly recommend him. If you're considering Aaron Phelps, don't hesitate—book a consultation!
Aaron is truly the best! He's calm, professional, and so talented. My husband (who hates posing for photos) even said that Aaron made it fun and stress-free!
Aaron was an A+ photographer on every front. We were initially drawn to the bright, playful style in his portfolio, but we booked him based on the good vibes we got from him on the...
phone (we’re in Colorado and had to coordinate with most of our vendors long-distance). We loved that we got an engagement shoot thrown in with the package we booked, which allowed us to get comfortable being photographed and gave us an idea of what to expect on the wedding day. On the day itself, Aaron was friendly, efficient, and remarkably unobtrusive for the quality of the shots he captured (there are so many gorgeous close-up shots in our album that I have no memory of him taking!). He and his second shooter did an incredible job of capturing all of our special moments with true artfulness, but without making us feel pinned down by a lens. Our photos are absolutely stunning—not only are they beautifully composed and edited, they also capture our unique personalities (and those of all our guests), the drama of our surroundings (we were in downtown KC and got some great shots of the skyline and Kauffman Center), and the marvelous sense of joy we all felt that day. Our final album is a treasure from start to finish. And we got it back (1000+ photos) in just over a month! Aaron was a stellar photographer every step of the way and we can't thank him enough for his talent and professionalism.
All I can say is WOW - I can't recommend Aaron enough!!! He captured our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, and wedding, and they are absolutely stunning. I absolutely love his t...
rue to color style of photography, and it's so cool how he also captures motion (GIF) moments as well like our kiss at the altar! I'm blown away that we received every single photo in both black and white AND color!
Aaron is extremely personable, kind, professional, and confidently wrangled an enormous wedding party of 18 people with ease. He also made us feel at ease with how to pose (without feeling forced) and has an incredible eye for detail. He also knows great spots in KC for photos, so you can really just tell him the vibe you're going for and he can take it from there.
Any couple is lucky to have him for their wedding day!
Aaron is simply amazing. I had contacted Aaron for a surprise proposal photoshoot and he did so well that we knew he had to be our photographer for our next engagement photoshoot a...
s well as our wedding. Aaron was helpful in determining what we wanted out of our wedding as well as logistically what was needed. He had recommendations for a second shooter and videographer and we went right ahead and secured them both since they had Aaron's stamp of approval and from the first round of images we have seen thus far we are overjoyed with the results. For our proposal, engagement, and wedding he got us sneak peek photos within days. For our proposal he was able to turn our favorite ones within hours!!! A month leading up to the wedding he made sure to check in and was timely with any questions or changes we had to the day of logistics and timing of the photos. Everything went so smoothly and right on schedule. We would recommend Aaron to anyone wanting a photographer for engagement or wedding photos or anything else you are needing. He is very easy to work with and is able to assist in anything you need!
Aaron WORKED at our wedding. We had the pleasure of having him as a single photographer for 10 hours and I don't think he ever put his camera down. Aaron is a pro at seeking out th...
e best lighting and setting and making sure the moment is captured. We received digital copies of our photos within two weeks and couldn't be more thrilled with how they turned out!
Aaron is amazingly talented. He captured all the special moments form our wedding with such a natural and artistic perspective. None of our photos felt forced, we were able to just...
be ourselves because Aaron made us feel so comfortable. And that led to the very best photos. He is not your average wedding photographer!
Aaron is the best!!!!!! He was so creative when taking our wedding photos. I loved how simple movements of light or location absolutely changed the photos. Everything turned out so...
beautiful, from detail shots to larger family photos. He did a fantastic job capturing all the moments without ever making it feel like we were taking hours of photos. We can’t wait to work with Aaron for future celebrations!
Also for my brides who love black & white, he gives every photo in color and B&W!!
There's no way this review will do Aaron justice, but I'll try anyway. He was always super responsive and never left us wondering what was going on. Our pictures turned out amazing...
and I loved the mixture of posed shots and natural snapshots that captured the true emotions of the day. Neither my husband nor I enjoy having our photos taken, but Aaron made us feel so comfortable and helped direct us into complimentary positions. One of the best parts was waking up the next morning to a handful of photos that we could share. Once we received the link to our finished photos, we were blown away by how many photos there were! I don't think there was a minute of the day that wasn't captured. In the rush of the day, I ended up missing so many details that his photos reminded me of.
The hardest part of booking Aaron as a photographer has been trying to decide which photos to print and showcase in our house!
Aaron Phelps is seriously the best. Our wedding photos turned out so amazing!!
So, one week before our wedding, the photographer that we had booked with canceled on us and left us ...
stranded with no photographer!
Luckily, I was able to get in touch with Aaron and he stepped in and did a marvelous job! He seriously went above and beyond what we had expected and turned possibly one of the most stressful pre-wedding things into one of the best parts of the wedding.
Our photos turned out beautiful with a timeless, classic feel to them.
Aaron Phelps is seriously one of the best.
If you're on the fence, definitely go with Aaron.
I am so thrilled with Aaron Phelps Photography!! He took the pictures for our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. I don't think he was familiar with the venue, but spent extra time...
finding great photo spots. They were fun to work with, and kind to everyone. There are so many great photos. I highly, highly recommend!!
Our photos look like an absolutely fairytale and Aaron was a dream to work with! His professionalism and confidence made working with him for both engagement and wedding photos so ...
easy. He knew what he was doing and we never had to worry if a moment was missed. The photos came out even better than I imagined- I had trouble narrowing down to just a couple favorites. Aaron truly went above and beyond.
His communication was prompt and thorough. Of all our vendors I never had to worry about Aaron- he was on top of everything! You won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to use him for all our special moments.
Absolutely STUNNING photos from our wedding. After working with Aaron for our engagement photos, we knew we wanted to hire him for the wedding as well, and it was so worth it. He c...
aptured so many subtle, candid shots throughout the day, along with amazing editorial-style photos of me and my (now) husband. I would absolutely hire Aaron again for future family or event photos! - Joe & Les
My wife and I got married this past October and received our pictures back recently from Aaron---and wow!! They are just stunning!! Aaron has this ability to capture moments with s...
uch artistry. His portraits look straight out of a photography book, which is even more impressive given that neither my wife nor I are remotely comfortable in front of a camera. Somehow, he was able to capture us looking relaxed, and our happiness clearly shows through. The portraits are beautiful, but it's the candids that we really treasure. Aaron was able to be everywhere at once it seems, getting great shots of family, friends and my wife and I without any of us notice.
As for the logistics, Aaron was super professional and prompt. He was very responsive, and communicated with us regularly before the event to ensure that we were on the same page for scheduling and to make sure he knew what photos were most important to us.
Truely can't thank him enough for capturing our special day.
Aaron is an amazing and talented photographer. I couldn’t be happier with our pictures. We are a very shy couple and we’re kind of intimidated by the whole wedding process. We told...
Aaron about it since day one. He is very sweet and kind, helped us to relax and suggested simple things for us to look great. He was with us during our court wedding and big celebration a couple of months later. Our court wedding pictures, in particular, look very editorial. Amazing.
I don’t know why he is not more popular! I’m so glad we got to know him and had him with us during such special time.
Thank you Aaron! You’re the best!
Our experience with Aaron was truly a dream. We talked in great detail about our vision and what we wanted and he honored that while also being creative and capturing moments I did...
n't even think would be possible. Our photos fully showcase our essence as a couple and we now have memories of our special day forever. I am deeply grateful for Aaron. He is extremely talented at what he does and I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!
There are a million different ways we would like to express our gratitude to Aaron for all the hard work he put into capturing our wedding and engagement photos, but in addition to...
thanking him over and over again, we also want to say WOW! Which doesn’t even really begin to cover it, but it’s a start.
We are just in awe of how talented and creative Aaron is! He will capture all your dream photos, and give you even more favorites that you didn't know you wanted.
Like many people, my husband(!) And I are just not all that comfortable in front of a camera and don't think of ourselves as photogenic - but we never once felt uncomfortable working with Aaron. He made us feel confident and relaxed and there were many times we completely forgot he was even taking photos at all.
He gave fantastic direction when he was seeing a specific shot he wanted, but could also just disappear into the background to capture some of the most authentic and unguarded photos as well.
He has so genuinely captured us and all of our favorite people - And one of the most amazing things is how he captured entire personalities and the complex relationships between people that he didn’t even know.
Aaron sees people so completely and captures them so beautifully.
We truly loved all of our vendors, but if we had to do it all over again and could only have one of them, it would hands-down be Aaron every single time.
We recommend him to anyone who asks (and to everyone who doesn’t!), and can’t wait to work with him again ourselves in the future!
Aaron was amazing to work with - my mom and I initially met him at a bridal show and left knowing he was who I wanted to capture my husband and I's big day. We set up a meeting wit...
h him and he gave us a chance to ask questions, showed us his work, and helped us brainstorm ideas for engagement photos and our wedding day.
He was incredibly helpful and responsive in getting our engagement photos set up; he suggested we focus on outdoors and finding places that were important to us, so we ended up taking several photos at our favorite brewery!
Aaron was very helpful in day-of planning/timing as well. I felt terrible that a lot of our family backed out, so we had a lot of time for family photos we didn't need. However, he ended up sneaking away with us to go take some photos in the middle of nowhere. It had snowed the day before, so these ended up being some of the best and most magical photos ever. During the reception I feel like I hardly noticed him but he was capturing everything. Both our galleries are incredible and I would highly recommend using Aaron (we even plan on using him for family photos when the time comes!)
He catches so many moments that you don’t even notice, truly an amazing photographer! Trust me you can’t find a better person to photograph you’re special day. Also, he has such a ...

here to take pictures and how to act natural. My husband and I are not big on taking pictures, but Aaron was easy to work with and made us feel comfortable. We had a blast as Aaron captured our special day!
What a talented and charming guy; I cannot recommend enough! He was able to make two people who hate getting their photo taken actually enjoy being in the limelight (or at least, n...
ot want to pull out their teeth or look quite as awkward). He flew out to DC to take our engagement photos, which turned out SPECTACULAR. He then did our wedding photos at Fresh Air Farm in Kansas City. They turned out dreamlike, as he truly captured the whimsical boho vibe we were going for. We are so lucky to have found him and his fake laugh (it gets you going, just wait... it's a treat). Thank you Aaron!!

ould have wished for. He is very artistic and captures raw and organic shots. These are moments that my husband and I wanted to remember, and now we can cherish them forever. If you're getting married in Kansas City, Aaron is a must!
arrived on time, was really fun and delivered amazing work. Fantastic photographer!
Aaron was so amazing to work with! He captured our day (and our huge family) perfectly. I would recommend Aaron to anyone looking for a photographer to capture the candid moments ...
of your day in an easy, laid back way. Our photos turned out better than we could have dreamed! Thanks, Aaron!
We cannot say enough good things about Aaron. He is an AMAZING photographer and his photos prove that. Aaron took our engagement pictures back in October of 2016 and he shot our we...
dding in October 2017. He makes taking pictures a fun and relaxed experience. We were battling the weather on our wedding day, but he was actually able to capture some of the most breathtaking photos I have ever seen. We highly recommend him!!!
Aaron did such an incredible job on our wedding photos. Leading up to the wedding, he was very prompt in responding to emails and we met in person one day to discuss details, which...
was really great and made me feel very comfortable. He totally understood our vision for the day and it showed in the moments that he captured with his camera. Yes, he got the typical posed photos, but he took so many "in the moment" pictures that were just incredible! When we look at the photos, it is like we are re-living the day over and over! He also made everyone feel very comfortable- always giving direction so there was never any question on how to pose, when to smile, etc. He sent us links to our photos and mailed us a USB as well. I would highly recommend Aaron. He was excellent and exceeded all of our expectations! Thank you, Aaron!
There really is no higher praise we could give Aaron. When we began our wedding planning, we both knew that photography would be a priority--wanting to find someone who could captu...
re our story, our joy, and our big day. Aaron, without exception, exceeded our expectations on all fronts.
From our initial contact to getting a flash drive of all our wedding photos in the mail, Aaron was quick to respond, diligent in his work and professionalism, and helpful and supportive through our questions and planning. But, more so, he made us feel at ease and comfortable through both our engagement session and our wedding day. As two people not entirely comfortable being in front of a camera, he made it feel like we were being photographed by a good friend.
Additionally, Aaron was prompt and timely with everything. As mentioned, he responded to emails quickly and sent his hard work in a timely manner. But, on the day of the wedding, he arrived at each location on time, captured moments perfectly, and was creative in his shots. If we could praise one aspect of his work in particular, it would be his ability to use natural light in his photos. His photographs really are beautiful.
All in all, Aaron certainly did not disappoint. Should we ever need photography services again, Aaron would be our go-to!
