Could not have had a better experience. Aaron and his team are incredible, and made everything so easy and stress free. High quality photos, attention to detail, and truly a pleasure to work with. So grateful that he was available for our wedding. If he wasn't, we would have changed our wedding date. (but seriously we might have). Would give 100 stars if able to!!

We could not have found a more perfect photographer for our wedding. From little details, to grand scenic settings, Aaron Watson Photography captured our wedding the way we imagined. Aaron is personable, knowledgeable, communicative, and did a great job creating the experience we wanted. We marked value at "5" because although they are not the cheapest, they are they best. The gallery on their website is 100% what you will get in person. He gets beautiful shots, and you don't want to miss out on those on your wedding day. We planned this from the other side of the country, never meeting in person or seeing the venue. I was raining and gray (not yet Spring) the morning of our ceremony and everything turned out perfectly. We would recommend him to anyone wanting a photographer. We could not be more pleased with the process, the experience and the results!

Aaron was a great photographer to work with during our proposal and subsequent engagement photoshoot. He had intimate knowledge of Keswick (where we got engaged) which led to a seamless and fun experience! His attitude made us incredibly comfortable, which lead to gorgeous candid photos, as well as some natural-looking portraits / posed photos. He was easy to coordinate with and has continued to be responsive and helpful as we order framed photos from the shoot. If we were getting married in Charlottesville, we would 100% use Aaron for our wedding!!!

You really can't do better than Aaron Watson for your Virginia wedding. He's been in the industry for so long, he knows all of the other vendors, made great recommendations, and is a complete professional. He coordinated seamlessly with our planner and other vendors. Day of, he and Lisa were spot on in every way. We had fun, felt comfortable (even with my camera shy husband) and got all of the photos we wanted with plenty of time to enjoy our cocktail hour and other parts of the wedding day. Aaron is very communicative and timely in responses and sharing photos. The photos themselves are just stunning. My family and friends were all blown away. He manages to make everything look like a fairy tale/picture-perfect day, without any extra filters. The colors are true and vibrant. By far one of the best decisions we made for our wedding was booking Aaron and his team.

Aaron has been an absolute god sent. He not only is the best photographer but gives great advice for wedding planning. We didn’t even book him yet and he spent time with us on a call and worked with us as we figured out our budget. We did an engagement shoot with him and I am so glad we did! The pictures made us tear up but also we got to know him better so on the wedding day it wasn’t meeting a stranger. Aaron was an exceptional professional, not just a photographer. He and his wife were extremely detail oriented and were exhaustive in working to understand our needs prior to our wedding. At our engagement shoot, Aaron went above and beyond to get the perfect shot. He liaised with our wedding coordinator perfectly; we didn't have to worry about being at certain places at certain times, it all just fell into place and Aaron shepherded us around to the perfect spots for photos. Also this man works so hard to get the absolute best shots; it was hot on our wedding day and he was practically jogging to get into the right positions so we could get more pictures of us in. At one point he was literally laying in the dirt to get a better angle of my wife and her dress. He was so patient with our wedding party as we fumbled through the order and took such great care to explain everything to our guests. I was really impressed by how carefully he considered the needs of my 92 y/o grandmother in attendance at the wedding; he made sure she had time to find the right spot for our photos, explained the process to her, and cracked a few jokes with her as well. But these little things are just the icing on top; Aaron is a talented photographer. We have been so impressed with his work from our engagement shoot to sneak peaks we've received from the wedding, he is a miracle worker.

On our first meeting with Aaron, when we gave him our wedding date and he immediately spit out the exact sunset time and started talking through how he’d set up a timeline for our wedding day to get the ideal sunset shot, we knew we’d found the right photographer. He takes his craft incredibly seriously, is the ultimate professional, but also easy going to work with. We had the pleasure of working with Aaron for both our engagement shoot and wedding day at Veritas and he made us feel comfortable for both. When we had an uncertain forecast for our wedding day, he and our planner were incredibly flexible to make sure we ultimately got what we wanted and were willing to adjust on the fly. Aaron knows Charlottesville like the back of his hand and is highly skilled at capturing the natural beauty of the area. We were incredibly lucky to be able to get married outdoors, despite a horrible forecast, and Aaron was just as excited as us to get the outdoor shots he knew that we wanted. You don't realize how much you are with the photographer throughout your wedding day, and he made it so fun and exciting and his calm mannerisms is a plus, because it is also very nerve racking. Hiring Aaron was one of the first and best decisions we made in the wedding planning process! He and his team (hi Lisa!) took absolutely stunning photos of our wedding we will treasure forever. Something to note, he takes photos with an eye towards an album so everything little thing is perfectly thought through - what you see is not just a “highlight reel” of the one great photo - they are truly all incredible photos (from the lighting, to the perspective, staging and posing). Aaron also does a really good job of putting people at ease and makes being followed around with a camera all day (not a typical experience for most) feel completely natural and easy. From before we even built our budget, I knew I wanted to hire Aaron. His prices were on the high end of what we were comfortable with but hands down was WORTH EVERY PENNY. Aaron's attention to detail is unparalleled, and he does a great job of not only getting the shots, but also getting photos where every single person looks amazing (which is hard to do in those larger family photos!) We just got our full album back and I couldn't be happier. Especially as two people who do not love being photographed, Aaron found a way to capture how happy the day was for us and our guests, and made the process of taking the staged photos very painless, if not even fun. If I was getting married all over, I would absolutely choose Aaron again in a heartbeat.

No “Instagram filter” looking photos here! The AWP team even has a drone which they use to take unique landscape portraits. Aaron and Lisa are friendly, professional, responsive, and great at making couples feel relaxed in front of the camera. We definitely recommend hiring Aaron for your wedding day. We never thought it would rain on our wedding day, but our photos still turned out amazingly colorful and gorgeous! Not only did Aaron and Lisa capture stunning portraits, but they have a talent of capturing raw emotional shots- like my husband shedding a tear during the first look. We’ve received tons of complements on our wedding photos and we’ve recommended the AWP team to all our UVa & Charlottesville friends (many of which have hired them after seeing our photos). Working with Aaron was an absolutely phenomenal experience. When I first started looking into wedding photographers, his photos stood out to me immediately because of their vibrant colors, and his spectacular sunset, nighttime, and fireworks photography. I was so pleased when I learned that he was available for our event date. Aaron was so well-organized and such a delight to work with. He has a great personality, and was spectacular at putting us at ease on our wedding day (and helping to keep us organized, too!). By the end of our wedding day, he practically felt like family, and everyone loved working with him. In addition, we have gotten so many wonderful compliments about his photos, in addition to comments about how enjoyable he was to be around. Aaron had many wonderful ideas for what sort of pictures would work well at our venue and at that time of day and year, and worked to incorporate our ideas too. He made sure that he got photos of all family and details that we requested, and in the style we had discussed during our consultation meeting. He checked the weather, sunset times, and everything else as we prepared for the day. Aaron even created an outline of a schedule that helped other vendors work around some of the things we planned (e.g., sunset photos). I planned our wedding, and he was also very helpful in suggesting other vendors I could hire. Aaron was super prompt in getting our digital photos to us, and they were BEAUTIFUL! I cannot wait to get our albums later this fall (which, by the way, he prints himself too...a one-stop, high quality shop!). I could not have asked for ANYTHING better to document and remember this special event. Honestly, even as I write this, I feel as though I cannot possibly do justice to the experience that Aaron provided to us, but I do think that his photos communicate a lot. Despite photographing numerous weddings at our venue previously, he was so creative with his photography making ours feel unique and was willing to try new ideas all while listening to our opinion. Aaron expertly captured the significance, meaning and magic of our daughter Meredith's and fiance Walter's wedding day. There is probably little we can add to the kudos Aaron has received from all of his previous clients, but we wanted to try, anyway. Aaron's good-humored patience and expertise at crowd control are phenomenal. Our daughter called from their wedding trip last week to talk about all of the special memories of the day, and one thing she mentioned was how amazing Aaron was, especially his care to try to make their photos feel personal even though Aaron has done hundreds of couples and many at Keswick, and she added, "you could see how his mind was constantly working to be as creative as he could for us". The hours leading up to a wedding can bring tension, emotional upheavals, and even chaos, depending on how wrinkled the bridesmaids robes were when coming out of the box. Aaron Watson’s low-key way of taking charge will fit into almost anyone’s wedding scenario. His people skills are right up there with his technical abilities. A number of us in the bride’s dressing room commented on his laid-back persona, which masks a thorough and highly skilled professional photographer. Despite the overcast quality of the sky on my daughter’s wedding day, he managed to make things look bright and the colors pop in “the first look.” His detailed knowledge of the venue meant that no time was ever wasted in finding “the right spot” for his lens. (Note to future brides: when vendor shopping, your first question should be “Have you worked at this venue before?” You don’t want to waste the time or pay for the learning curve on your wedding day.) Assisted by a woman who demonstrated the same high professional level, Aaron was able to deliver an abundant assortment of images in capturing the fixed timeframe of the day. And he caught those special moments of laughter, intimacy, connection—the “truth” moments. His images are beautiful; his style of acquiring them is non-intrusive. All in all, he delivered a technically beautiful and emotionally accurate documentation of the day. What more could a bride want? I hope that my daughter and her new husband can sit down on their fiftieth anniversary and go through their wedding album. They will have these images to rekindle the excitement and ardor of their special day, and they are lucky for that, I think.

Aaron is absolutely incredible. He got to our wedding venue before we did to photograph everything, and was so patient and helpful in managing all of the wedding day stress. While the day felt like a blur, he caught details I would have completely overlooked and made sure that everyone was included and on the same page. He was extremely kind and helpful when it came to managing my dress outdoors (it was raining), and was incredibly organized in getting all the formal shots of family members. The photos are breathtaking and we could not be any happier with how they turned out. We could not have asked for a better photographer!

Having Aaron and his wife photograph our wedding day was easily THE BEST choice we made. Due to my husband and I living out of state, we weren't able to meet Aaron until our wedding day. However, from the moment we met him he immediately made every one comfortable in front of the camera. He felt like a family friend. Aaron kept us on time all day and got all of our must have shots that we requested. After getting my gallery back I cannot believe all of the amazing shots Aaron and his wife got of our wedding day. My fear was feeling uncomfortable with a photographer photographing every moment and it feel "fake", but it was the exact opposite. It was a pleasure working with Aaron Watson and his team! He captured beautiful engagements shots in the Blue Ridge Mountains - and even gave us guidance on what to wear to look our best selves (thankfully!). He is very calm and genuine which helped us feel comfortable to take natural pictures. When it came time for the wedding, he had a call with us a few weeks before to talk through the schedule. We made some adjustments to capture the sunset and allocate enough time for 'first look' & family pictures. He was incredibly organized and enjoyable to work with. We used him for our engagement photos and he made that day so much fun, I couldn't wait for the wedding day! My husband and I had the most wonderful experience with Aaron and his team for both our engagement and our elopement photos. We did both our sessions at the Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery, and would couldn't have asked for anything better than we received! Aaron knew exactly where to shoot around the property and paid so much attention to the small details. We had a blast! Our pictures are absolutely amazing memories that we love looking at and reminiscing about! The quality of our photo books and the prints/framed pieces are top notch. We are so happy with everything! We hired Aaron as our wedding photographer and are so glad we did! Aaron was easy to keep in touch with in the months leading up to the wedding, even while he was in the midst of moving his studio. He was great the day of our wedding - friendly, fun, calming, and kept us right on schedule. Our pictures are beautiful and capture all of the important parts of the day, with lots of unique shots including some incredible shots at sunset that he pulled us out briefly to take. We also received our photos very quickly - a few pictures the day after, sneak peak with about 150 photos within one to two weeks, and all of our photos in less than a month. In short, I don't think we could have asked for anything better.

Aaron worked to learn about us as a couple (such as wanting to know our personal love story!) and asked about what is important to us (including what wedding elements we cared about most, details of family dynamics, etc) and created a detailed wedding day timeline. What impressed me MOST was that despite this thoughtfully planned timeline, he was incredibly flexible on our actual wedding day! The rain had resulted in a lot of back and forth about ceremony location and start time and changed some our of planned locations for photos. Aaron and his team seamlessly went with the flow and altered their timeline as needed and STILL managed to capture all of the shots and moments we were hoping for. Only someone as talented and experienced as Aaron could've pulled this off the way he did. Your wedding photos are an investment. It is the one thing you will have when the whirlwind of your wedding day is over. You must choose Aaron. I could never recommend him enough.

We hired Aaron Watson Photography to be our wedding photographer in Charlottesville, Virginia, for our April wedding. The wedding ceremony was held at the UVA Chapel and the reception was at the Darden School of Business. Aaron and his team went above and beyond to capture our wedding day. Throughout the planning process, Aaron learned every detail of our wedding so that he could capture the aspects of the day that were important to us. From providing a comprehensive questionnaire to taking the time to talk through every detail leading up to our wedding, we never doubted that we were in good hands. He went through the logistics of how he would be photographing at different locations and brainstormed creative ideas for images that would work well at our venues. Upon signing up to work with Aaron Watson Photography, we had access to software that made paying our installments, choosing photography packages, and managing our pictures seamless. Aaron responded in less than 24 hours to any questions we had and had excellent suggestions when we needed recommendations and advice. He is well-known in the Charlottesville wedding industry and our vendors had an enormous amount respect for him. From working together, it is clear that Aaron is an expert in his craft. Aaron and his team are fantastic! Aaron made it so easy to plan our wedding out of state. He was so easy to work with- he provided us with a timeline to plan our entire day around and had a lot of helpful suggestions about everything wedding related! Booking Aaron Watson to do our wedding photography was the best decision we made for our wedding! My now husband and I found his website very early on in our vendor booking process and we immediately fell in love with his soft, ethereal and whimsical style of photography, it fit perfectly with our venue and the feel and theme we were going for. However, we also wanted to meet with him in person to ask some questions before we booked. Aaron was so accommodating and made time in his busy schedule for us to come to his studio to talk with him about what he could offer us. He was extremely professional and walked us through his style and process and we were in love and booked him right on the spot (he even had a gift bag waiting for us after we signed!). From there, the experience of working with him all the way up to and including the big day was perfect. He responded to every question promptly and fully and provided questionnaires and suggestions to my designed schedule so that we could fit in every single shot we wanted. And on the big day, he was an absolute joy to be with! He arrived right on time with his associate photographer and kept us moving so we could get every shot in, whether it was planned or just capturing spontaneous moments. We couldn’t have asked for a more attentive and wonderful photography team, and we can’t thank them enough! The Monday after the wedding, we got a small sample of pictures, which was so thoughtful, since we were dying to see. Holy cow! They were absolutely beautiful! Exactly what we were hoping for after previewing his work all those months before. They captured the emotional core of what we were feeling that day, but were also so creative in regards to lighting, camera focus and angle, they took our breath away! Since then, we have gotten a mini album of pictures to share with friends and family and the more pictures we see, the more in love we are with Aaron’s work. I cannot say enough good things about it, he really has enormous talent and is able to get sweeping gorgeous shots as well as small intimate moments with the people who mean the most to you. Really, it’s everything you want when looking back on the most important day of your life. We expect to see the full album in a couple weeks and we can’t wait! We highly recommend Aaron to any couple looking to capture their day in the most beautiful way!

Aaron Watson earns 5-stars from all 360 degrees. I’m an incredibly particular person… and it turns out that Aaron is too. It also turns out that a perfectionist is a wonderful person to have as a wedding photographer. Aaron is dedicated to his art, and truly strives for the best possible deliverable. He is very proud of his product (rightly so) and only allows for the very best. He worked with me extensively and adapted to meet my preferences. And he did a brilliant job of it. Any concerns I had about a certain angle or light were equally his concerns; truly, every tiny little nit-picky thing I pointed out, Aaron was equally disturbed by it and worked to eliminate it where most people would just look at me like I’m crazy. He truly understood what I asked of him, and he went above and beyond to make sure I was thrilled with all my photographs. He also took time to get to know me and learn where my confidences and insecurities lie, and incorporated this understanding into his photography. He’s not just a skilled photographer – he’s a smart photographer. Aaron was 100% dedicated to me and my needs whenever I was with him or on the phone with him. Aaron’s skills extend beyond the camera too; he is very smart, organized, and he really thinks things through instead of just giving quick answers. He’s also extremely responsive to emails, phone calls, whatever. These traits might not sound important until you’ve been a picky bride getting ready for your wedding, but believe me: they are. Aaron is the whole package. I came to trust Aaron’s skills so much that I actually told my other wedding vendors (including my coordinator), “Aaron is in charge. If there is any kind of time conflict or anything, defer to his preferences.” Out of all my vendors, he provided the most assistance with general wedding planning. Best wedding decision I made, second to who I chose to marry.  TLDR: Book Aaron. Don’t even stress yourself out with the decision!

Aaron and his team were so well organized starting from our first phone call. We felt comfortable working with him the entire year leading up to the big day. On the wedding day, he arrived early and had a great plan. We had some crazy weather and he was quick to adjust when necessary. Aaron and Lisa braved the sleet and snow with us as we still wanted the beautiful backdrop at the lake at the Boar's Head Resort. Stephanie was covering everything else in the meantime. Everyone in the wedding party including our parents valued the team's direction and professionalism. We all felt calm and happy the entire day which I believe is in large part due to the wonderful vendors we worked with. Your photographer is with you all day so it's definitely important to have a good relationship. It was a pleasure to work with Aaron and his team!

Aaron's team is professional, responsible, and fun! They pay such close attention to detail and provide more services than you would ever expect from a photographer! I thought photographers were just people who took really nice pictures before I met Aaron and his team. Our wedding and engagement photos with Aaron and team were far, far more than simply having our moments captured. Our pictures ended up being more spectacular than we could have imagined, and the entire experience working with them was centered around us enjoying our moments together. We had fun the entire time, at no point did we feel like we were forcing moments just to get the photos taken. In addition to constantly feeling at ease, Aaron has fantastic creativity and a real eye for how to use the world around him to make the resulting images pop. The final cherry on top was all the thought, planning, and personalization that goes into the experience before the sessions as well as the big reveal afterward. A first class experience that certainly changed my perspective on what to expect with a photographer for the important moments in life.

Our photos speak for themselves. Aaron Watson is a creative genius and so much fun to work with. We consider him a friend at this point. We met with him at his office to go over our vision for the wedding day and what type of photographs we wanted. He pulled us aside during the reception to do an amazing shoot by the pool at Keswick. I have received so many compliments on our photographs. It was difficult narrowing down the picture to put in our album, but Aaron and Brittany were incredibly helpful. We got really lucky that Aaron was available for our wedding. He also added to our day in that he is incredibly friendly, which meant that we have a lot of comfortable and natural looking pictures. We have a very "modern" family (divorces, remarriages, girlfriends etc., basically situations that could possibly be awkward...but thanks to Aaron it was a smooth day).

We are so glad we chose Aaron Watson as our wedding photographer. Simply put, his work is beautiful. He captured all of the important moments of our big day, as well as all those small details that I spent time planning and preparing but never got to see in person at the actual wedding. He is laid-back and easy to get along with. He's also a good salesman and can easily talk you into buying more prints and album pages - but that's not such a bad thing considering his photographs are gorgeous and will last a lifetime. Aaron is a phenomenal artist. In addition to taking some amazing photos, he also helped to keep us organized throughout our entire wedding day. We booked Aaron and guest photographer for 9 hours and while it's a fair amount of money, you will never regret spending the money on his photos. The moments he captured are priceless and really invoke the overall feel of the day...full of love, happiness, joy, gratitude, and lots of FUN! Jeffrey Gleason was his guest photographer for the day and they made a great team together! They made it easy for us to relax in front of the camera and made sure to get the important shots. I am in awe looking through all of the pictures and they even put together a short video slideshow for our guests. Jeffrey also ran the photo booth set up and those pictures are some of the funniest of the entire night. The props were genius! I am so glad that we went with Aaron Watson and his team. I spent a lot of time looking at different Charlottesville-area photographers, but something about Aaron's work just really stood out. I am so glad I followed my gut.
