nd we scheduled a golden hour from either 4-6pm or 5-7pm (weather dependent). I reached out to Abbey a couple of weeks before our date to make sure we were still on and she said she already booked two couples for those time slots and offered us an 8am session even though we were already scheduled for the golden hour (evening) on that date. Abbey did end up making it work for us and then told us we would receive our sneak peaks within a couple of days. It took two weeks for us to receive sneak peaks and we had to reach out to her a couple of times throughout that process to ensure we received our sneak peaks. After we received our entire gallery in October, we reached out to her 5 times from February 2021-April 2021 to check in and talk to her about our wedding timeline and we didn't hear back until I emailed her saying if we didn't hear back by the following Monday we would be proceeding with another photographer because our date was quickly approaching on June 5th 2021 (6 weeks away from our wedding). She did respond to us at that point and we cancelled our contract due to multiple communication inconsistencies. When we cancelled our contract, Abbey agreed that we weren't a good fit due to our different communication styles and my fiance and I were very confused by her response because there was very minimal communication throughout the course of a year. Although her work is great, my fiance and I were very anxious throughout the process of working with her and we would be constantly second guessing whether she would actually make it to our day based on the inconsistencies. I would proceed with caution if you decide to go with Abbey & ensure that you are setting out your expectations. She is transparent about working a full-time job, however, it doesn't feel quite right to me that she did not ever reach out to us first once in the course of a year after booking with us. My fiance and I didn't know what our expectations should've been when hiring a photographer and I'm seeing that many other peoples experiences with their photographer couldn't be more opposite; such as a photographer helping the couple create their wedding timeline, preferences for where to take pictures, etc. We were approaching 6 weeks before our wedding and it still felt like Abbey didn't feel an urgency to respond to us. I would exercise with caution if you decide to book Abbey.
