My bridal shower, our wedding ceremony and wedding reception were here at The Abbey on Main and I couldn’t be happier about the experience. The venue was clean, the space was ample, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. We both got ready on site for our wedding which was ideal and a huge factor when booking the venue. It made for a smooth morning and afternoon transition to wedding festivities. We had an outdoor ceremony for our wedding which allowed guest to enjoy the beauty and socialize in the congregation garden. The landscape was well maintained and we were given many compliments about how our ceremony was set up. I loved that we had lots of space for our guests to mingle before the reception. Inside and outside there’re so many spots for photo opportunities. Its historical charm thats been so well preserved and maintained made the venue admirable by all. They also offer many options to rent items through them at a cheaper cost then buying them elsewhere and dealing with the hassle of reselling them, for example chargers, table numbers, linens/napkins, signs, locked card box etc. I highly recommend checking this church venue out for your next event.

The Abbey on Main is truly the ideal venue. My husband and I got married there in January of 2024. Lisa, the owner, really sees the vision that couples look for. She worked so hard to make sure this venue was in immaculate condition for our wedding. The church has been restored so well, preserving its historic charm but updated to fit today’s style. The bridal suite is the most enchanting room and was perfect for pictures and socializing while getting ready. We loved that we could have our ceremony and reception at the same location, The Abbey is very accommodating for events of any size! This church holds a special place in our hearts and we would recommend it to anyone! Small town charm, big venue dreams!

Abbey on Main is a beautiful church wedding venue in Romeo, MI. This spiritual and historic wedding venue is ideally suited to both ceremonies and receptions. Established in 1874, the Abbey on Main was lovingly restored between 2022 and 2023. The original craftsmanship stands the test of time; the team that conducted the renovations beautifully preserved its history while adding some beautiful modern touches. Ceremonies of up to 175 guests can be held in the chapel, which was restored to its original exposed brick, providing a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos. Afterward, enjoy a reception in the sanctuary, which can comfortably seat about 260 guests. There are two perfectly appointed getting-ready rooms where you and your partner can relax with your wedding parties before the day ahead. One of the rooms, as the former main office, features vintage, built-in bookcases and was designed to mimic a hotel lobby with a cigar bar vibe. The second room was designed with neutral tones, which allow the natural light to flood the space and create an ideal setting for the morning’s preparations. At the Abbey on Main, each of the beautiful spaces serves as a blank canvas for your wedding theme to blossom. Couples can bring in their choice of vendors to match their preferences and overall wedding theme. With space for approximately 90+ vehicles plus public parking across the street, your vendors and guests will be able to arrive with ease. Situated in downtown Romeo, the Abbey on Main provides a quiet, calming setting. Still, being located outside of Detroit and just under an hour’s drive from the Detroit Metropolitan Airport makes it easy for guests to arrive and find local accommodation.
