Margui was great and easy to work with. She did an amazing job with our wedding cake. It was beyond our expectations in both look and taste. Our guests enjoyed it and my groom (now husband) said that's exactly how he likes a cake. He's not easy to please with cakes but he thoroughly enjoyed our wedding cake and regrets not having more. It was just the right amount of everything! We went with a Swiss vanilla buttercream icing. The top tier was dark chocolate with a mocha ganache filling and the bottom tier was marble with a chocolate mousse filling. It was DELICIOUS! And beautifully made with a chocolate half drip and flowers in our wedding colors. I strongly recommend Margui and cannot wait to have another opportunity to work with her again and eat some more of her cake.

We hired Margui to make the cake for our Nov 3 wedding in Alexandria for 150 people. I'm not a huge cake person because it is often not made correctly and I needed the cake I served at my wedding to be absolutely delicious. Margui's cakes met that criteria and then some. They were moist, beautiful, and delicious. She made us a tiered cake (almond with cream cheese frosting) that we cut into as well as sheet cakes (two flavors: dark chocolate with peanut butter buttter cream and lemon poppyseed with lemon butter cream). They were all spectacular. I got to try all three flavors and my favorite was the almond and my husband's the chocolate peanut butter. I am so glad we hired Margui for a number of reasons, most importantly because the cake was delicious. I found her pricing to be comparable to other places in the region, her responses were very timely and professional, and she allowed us to customize the cake/frosting combos and pick as many flavors as we wanted at no additional charge. For our cake tasting, we picked 3 flavor combos we wanted to try and she actually made 3 miniature cakes. I really loved this. Some of the other places we did tastings at served us cupcakes which, although I like, isn't the same as eating a cake that has multiple layers and frosting. After our tasting we went home with so much cake we enjoyed it for several days. Another bonus for hiring Margui of Abby's Cake was that I had my heart set on eating cream cheese frosting on my wedding day. Some other places had told me that wouldn't be possible because it was too soft. Margui offered up a compromise (50/50 cream cheese and buttercream) which was both delicious and structurally sound. It meant a lot that I was able to have that option since in my family we always baked cakes with cream cheese frosting for special occasions. We went with a simple design for our cake with fresh florals. I ordered the flowers through my florist and Margui (without our involvement) coordinated with the florist to have them arranged on the tiered cake the day of. It was so nice to not even have to think about the logistics of how that would work (especially on my wedding day), and have professionals that were taking care of it. After the wedding, our caterer kindly packed up one of each flavor of cake for us. One of my favorite memories from our wedding was eating cake in bed the next morning with my new husband. Overall Margui was great to work with and her cakes were amazing. I will definitely be keeping her in mind if I need cake for future events and you would not go wrong if you hired her for yours. Margui did the groom’s cake for our wedding and it was amazing! We asked her to do a Star Wars cake for my husband including the logo and two lightsabers and it looked awesome! My husband loved it, he couldn’t stop raving about it and we got so many compliments on it from our guests. Not only that, but we received compliments on how good it tasted as well, which it did! The chocolate flavor of the cake and buttercream layers was delectable. It’s also awesome that Margui uses natural and preservative free ingredients. Margui is super sweet and awesome to work with. We had been looking for someone to do the groom’s cake for a long time- she really saved us! She is really communicative and flexible and her prices are great. I am so glad we went with Abby’s Cakes and recommend to anyone!!!

Our cake was AMAZING! It looked perfect and tasted great! We got so many compliments on it. Marqui is great to work with. She listens to every single detail, and goes above and beyond! I will definitely use Margui again! Thank you for helping make our wedding so wonderful with your magnificent cake!
