The lack of communication from Kathy is a consistent complaint I've seen from everyone and also a HUGE issue I'm having as well. I'm getting married here at the end of 2019, and I've already had large issues that make me fear for what's to come. I'm hoping that the beauty of the venue and the sentimental value it has to my fiance and I will pay off.

My wedding was in August of this year and the venue is amazing for weddings with ceremony, reception, and accommodations all in one place. My wedding was beautiful. The only real issue was the person I was working with at the venue to make arrangements (Kathy). She was very nice, but there was a lack of communication and I was always the one reaching our and asking her what she needed from me instead of the other way around. She also went 8 days without replying to emails the week before my wedding and I ended up having to call and talking to someone else to get a response. She did blame this on email issues but she could have reached out to me with my wedding being 4 days away when I finally was able to get in touch. Then the day of the wedding, she was suppose to be there and I did not talk to her and see her the entire day when she told me she would be there to oversee the wedding, put signs out, communicate with staff, etc. Things that I was told would be done and were not. The front desk was not informed of my wedding details by her and the kitchen did not get my food updates from her. This was due to her lack of communication to everyone. The next day, I was told by her she never said that she would do such and such things which ended up being a a huge disappointment for me. I would definitely get in writing what roles and responsibilities they have the day of or request to work with someone else entirely. Everyone else (bartenders, kitchen staff, wait staff, janitors) were all GREAT! I did end up talking to her manager which made it a little better, but do not want other brides to go through what I did. It caused a lot of stress that is not needed the day of the wedding. This really is an amazing venue, I only wish the process was a lot better.

For starters, this place is gorgeous. They have tons of options for a venue both inside the building and around it. We used the Allison Peabody Hall and we couldn't have been happier with it. We planned an outdoor wedding in an amphitheater in the forest, but the weather prevented it. The staff there worked to make sure we could still have an outdoor wedding, on the covered porch adjacent to the reception room. The only downsides for us was it was a little pricier than what we wanted to pay (but it turned out to be well worth it), and sometimes it was difficult to get a hold of the sales coordinator I was working with on the phone (e-mail communication was good, though!).
