Abigail Dakota Photo is a wedding photographer based in Lynchburg, VA who serves couples nationwide and beyond. My name is Abby, and I am so excited to get to know you! Weddings are the sweetest days, and it's truly a privilege to be able to walk hand-in-hand with you through them.
I was sitting in my parent's kitchen looking through the photos from their wedding, and I was struck by the timelessness and intentionality in those few film shots. And that’s exactly how I want you to feel when you look back on your wedding day gallery. Hence why I offer film and super8. The photos that are often treasured are the ones that capture authentic emotion, and that is what I pursue. Through fluid prompts, genuine laughter, and movement, you'll see your story come alive through photos.
I want you to feel supported from your first email to the final gallery delivery.
I value clear communication and want couples to feel comfortable and familiar with my booking and shooting process. I do this in part by clearly communicating the next steps in my first call and using a site that has everything in one portal (contract, invoicing, questionnaire, etc.).
I always tell my couples that this is the first (and most likely only) time that they will plan a wedding, but I have walked through the intricacies of the wedding world/day many, many times, so let me be a resource! As one of your vendors, I want to link hands with you as you plan and execute your dream wedding.

Welcome, I'm Abby and I'm glad we've found each other. I've always had a love for taking photos, which makes me laugh because I feel like every photographer ever says that. But for real - I was the photographer friend that was always whipping out her iPod touch to get photos. I remember thinking that wedding photography would be my dream, but I wasn't willing say that out-loud because it felt impossible. Slowly but surely all of my "nevers" started happening- When I was flown out to Utah to shoot my first wedding, I was hooked. I have so much gratefulness towards where I am today. Each client that chooses to invest in me is a blessing. I am abundantly grateful for each of you!
