I recently used Fatima in June to re-design my gown for my sons wedding . I purchased the gown in a larger size and then lost weight ! Lots of work ! It looked fabulous - if I say so myself !!!! Thank you !

Let me start by saying fatima made my wedding vision a reality. As a bride wearing a RED wedding gown Fatima was ecstatic to work with me , a bride going a non traditional route. Just by chatting with Fatima you can tell she loves what she does!!! I contacted her about 9 month out from. My wedding to assist with custom veil. I bought a veil i had made online which was a mess. It looked cheep and i knew ot would not work. Luckily i had Fatima to the rescue...she and i bounced ideas back and forth and she completely revamped my veil it came out amazing !!! she even sent me progress photos and asked my opinion along the way. And used the same beading and sequins to mach my wedding gown ..it is 1 of a kind . About 6 weeks from my wedding i came back to do my gown alteration . My dress required being taken in and a bustle. She did amzing work. She even taught my mother and bridesmaids how to get me into the dress correctly and do the bustle! When i came to pick up she required me to try on to ensures everthing was corect. It was perfect!!! She takes pride in her work and it certainly shows !

Fatima was a real pleasure to work with; in addition to altering my dress she took measurements for my bridesmaids so that I could order dresses for them off of etsy, and altered those dresses as well once they arrived. One of my bridesmaids lost a substantial amount of weight after getting measured and Fatima was able to take her dress in and charged less than expected for her services. Everyone looked great, and I plan to go to her in the future next time I need something altered.

From the very beginning, Fatima exceeded expectations with my wedding dress. Every meeting was fun and personal. I purchased my dress in a smaller size, and she was able to let it out as well as hem the bottom, create a bustle (gorgeous), and alter my straps to make a more filling shoulder. I couldn't love my dress more, a total transformation. Thank you!

Fatima was incredible! I felt so calm and relaxed with her, she made me laugh and her turn around time is incredible. I had been quoted over $800 by the salon where I purchased my dress, she was able to cut that cost by over 3/4 and it turned out stunning. Her bustle game is on point! I had my dress at another shop, after that shop having my dress for 3 weeks( this was the second round of alterations by that shop) I call to check on the status of my dress and I'm told oh your dress has not been touched, there are 2 other dresses ahead of yours and you might want to find someone else because they were not sure my dress would get done. mind you with 3 weeks till my wedding. so Fatima had my daughter's bridesmaid dress doing alterations. I call her in tears explaining my dilemma. she was a blessing.she had me come in her shop that same day. she had to finish and fix someone else's work. she was amazing, funny and just put me at ease. well I got my dress back a week before my wedding and it was perfect, my bustle was gorgeous, she added a piece of lace to cover up the zipper and you couldn't tell. I wish I would have went with her from the start but I felt that I should have done alterations where I got my dress, well huge mistake on my part. So I'm telling everyone don't feel obligated to get your alterations done where you buy your dress...go to Fatima she is simply AMAZING.

Fatima was absolutely amazing! She made something as seemingly tedious as a dress alteration fun. She has such a bubbly, yet no nonsense personality and so much knowledge and skill for alterations and design. She took my mermaid to floof dress and was able to shorten it AND put on a gorgeous bustle very quickly. The dress came out absolutely perfectly and I loved everything about it! I'm very happy I went with Fatima to do my wedding dress alterations! I was nervous about the dress process so of course procrastinated trying to find someone to do my alterations. Fatima saved me and my dress and fit me in fairly late (in wedding dress timelines). The dress came out great. We had to shorten the shoulders which included detailed bead work. She did a wonderful job on my bustle and really took the time to make it look great instead of just gathering it up on my backside. She had my maid of honor come and learn how to do the bustle which made the day of my wedding run smoothly! I'll definitely be using her again for alterations in the future!

Fatima is amazing!!! She was so wonderful to work with. I had ordered my dress 2 weeks are having my baby. I had lost more weight than expect after I received it, it needed to be taken in and my wedding was only a month away! Fatima was fast and diligent! My dress looks amazing!!! Fatima is an excellent seamstress and business woman. She is friendly and attentive to her customer’s needs. She can make a dress look like it hasn’t had any alterations done on it. She is also reasonably priced. I was able to dance to “Jump” by the Pointer Sisters with my niece, the birthday flower girl, without popping out of my dress or tripping. Fatima’s alterations were perfect.

Fatima was fabulous!! First she was able to accommodate my crazy busy schedule to get me in for alterations. My bridesmaid dress fit perfectly when she was done altering it! Fatima was amazing. As I am planning a large 100+ people wedding within 2 months I ordered my wedding dress online and took it to Fatima to have my dress altered to my height; she was able to accommodate me with the limited timeframe. Without having a bridal party to bounce thoughts and ideas off of and no one else seeing my dress until the day off the wedding she was very helpful with some recommendations regarding jewelry, shoes, and to or not to wear my veil. Being a new mom she was okay with my bringing my 3/4mo old daughter with me to both of my appointments which was very beneficial to me. Her prices were amazing $75 to have my dress altered and steamed as well as having my veil steamed. I definitely recommend her for any alterations and if I need anything altered again I will be going directly to her!

From the moment I met Fatima, I knew my dress would be in great hands. She is clearly very passionate about her work and will tell you the truth. Fatima did a beautiful job on my bustle and neckline. On my final fitting, she noticed a small detail that she wasn't happy with and fixed it right on the spot. I highly recommend her!

Fatima is fantastic! She is so amazingly talented. Your dress is in safe hands with her! I took my wedding dress to her for alterations. She took in the side seams and shoulders, and despite the fact that it's a lace dress you can't tell at all where she took it in. She also did a great job hemming my dress (including proving great advice on how long I should do my hem) and she did a really pretty bustle on my dress. I am so happy with how everything turned out! My dress fits like a glove now. To top it off, her prices are VERY reasonable. I would definitely recommend Fatima!

Fatima at Abishai did the bustle on my wedding gown and she did a FANTASTIC job! My wedding was outdoors and I was concerned about the train on my gown. She did a gorgeous and completely unique bustle for me. I got so many compliments at my wedding for the bustle that she did! So many of my guests told me they had never seen such a beautiful bustle, nor had they seen one like that before! Fatima was great to work with; creative and so friendly. Fatima Bey saved the day! I had my wedding dress shipped to me from Kleinfelds four days before my wedding. My veil and 19 lb wedding dress was wrinkled and needed to be steamed. I remembered seeing her posts on wedding Facebook sites. I contacted her with barely any notice and she got the dress back to us in two days. Thank you so much Fatima for everything. We appreciate everything you did for us. The store was easy to find and they even helped my mom carry the heavy dress. You took care of my dress like it was your own. Thank you!!!

There isn't much I can say about Fatima that hasn't already been said - she's amazing! Not only does she have a sparkling personality, she's great at what she does. I came in with a dress that didn't fit and she gave me options if I couldn't lose the weight. Luckily, I managed that, and we did the alterations I wanted instead of needing them. Tea length dresses are hard on short people like me, and she made it the perfect length. The price was extremely reasonable, and we had great easy conversation while she worked. Fatima is amazing! Her humorous personality really helped me through the stressful process of trusting someone with my dress. I bought my dress 2 years before my wedding and had lost a considerable amount of weight. The dress needed to be taken in, hemmed (by a LOT), she needed to gather the neckline and sew bra cups in to make up for the weight loss. She added the most beautiful bustle I have ever seen! I felt like a true princess! There were multiple layers to my organza dress and she hemmed every single one of them perfectly. She even needed to hem my slip because I'm so short! Fatima Bey could very well be my fairy godmother! I found my dress completely by chance and it fit... kinda. I have wide hips so it was let out a bit there, but I'm getting married on the beach, so I decided I wanted to cut the train off of my dress. This was difficult to do bc of the corset back. Fatima worked her magic, & even helped me fill out the top to impress my groom 😉! She is very reasonable with her pricing and is just simply amazing. My wedding is 13 days away and I cannot WAIT to put that dress on bc it is one of a kind and now it looks like it was made FOR me. Thank you so much Fatima. Don't even bother looking anywhere else. She works magic with her sewing utensils I swear!

She did a wonderful job getting the bridesmaid dress for my cousins wedding done in time and making it perfect! The hemming of the three layered dress was perfect and she was more than welcoming to hem this dress even shorter for me. Also the prices on the alterations were reasonable and understanding, especially for a college student.

If you need alterations for your wedding dress - Look no more. This lady is your girl. She took a boho dress that was very unflattering to my curvy figure (it was supposed to be a baggy fit on a 90 pound model) and made it accent every curve. She also brought the very high neck line down so I could flaunt my breasts on the beach in Jamaica. She is also very fun to chat with and listens attentively to your requests. I really hope you all trust me when I say she will make you look gorgeous in your dress. XOXO

WOW! Fatima was awesome. She offered suggestions on what she felt was the best fit for my Mother of the Bride gown. My gown had a bit of a flare from the knees down and I was worried I would that when she hemmed. Please keep in mind I am only 4ft 11 inches in heels, so she needed to cut a great deal off the bottom, but she was still able to give my gown that flare!!! Coupled with superb service she delivered everything part of the experience with professionalism and humor! When needed I will take my alterations to her!

She quickly has become my fairy god mother. She is so easy to work with and helpful. SHe takes her time to get it right and will make sure you are happy and comfortable the while time. I am blessed to have met her and to have her magic in my dress.

Great customer service, clean, and very convenient . I brought my bridesmaid's dress to Fatima Bey of Abishai for alterations and to have straps added. The alterations came out to be amazing. My dress fit great and I looked and felt amazing I didn't want to take off my bridesmaid dress at the end of the night.

This woman is a class act! She did the alterations on my "mother of the bride" gown which was sequined from top to bottom. It was perfect. Her appointments are on time, and she spends as much time as you need with her. I am attention to detail oriented, and was very pleased with her workmanship and level of service! Fatima Bey altered my dress, and did an unbelievable job! Another seamstress had quoted me $1k to alter my dress, and wasn't doing all the things Fatima did. She chopped my long train to give me a sweep, and made my dress a truly custom made dress of my dreams! Plus she's so much fun to work with. I cannot recommend her enough. I had bought my wedding dress when my then fiancee now husband was serving overseas in Iraq. The dress I bought fit perfectly except for the length because I'm short. When he got back we decided to push back our wedding for another two years. Unfortunately I gained a good amount of weight that my dress didn't fit! I couldn't return it and didn't want to pay money for another, plus it was THE DRESS! I took it to different places for alternation and they said they couldn't do it because of the fabric. I needed a miracle at this point, I was ready to just run off and elope and forget the dress. Then a friend told me about a friend of theirs that does alterations, Fatima. So I met with her and she saw how important the dress was to me and she said she would do her best. Her best was perfection! She performed a miracle, the dress fit! And I got married!
