I had a long engagement, which meant I had *a lot* of ideas & questions. Not once did Jackie make me feel like any detail was too small or insignificant. Every vision, every little idea, & every tiny detail we discussed was brought to life so beautifully. Our wedding day flew by in the blink of an eye, but every time I caught a glimpse of something we'd planned together, it was exactly as we had imagined - & often even better! One of the greatest gifts Jackie & Cookie gave us was the ability to actually enjoy our wedding day. While we spent the morning surrounded by our family & wedding party, they transformed our venue from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception to dancing. Walking into each space throughout the day was magical, & knowing we never had to worry about a single setup detail was priceless. Jackie also kept the entire day running so smoothly. She led our rehearsal so everyone knew exactly where to be & when, created & coordinated our timeline, answered vendor questions, adjusted plans as needed throughout the day, & somehow made everything look effortless. She checked in with the wedding party - including making sure the groomsmen were all set - & kept everything moving without ever making the day feel rushed. On a more personal note, Jackie & Cookie were there for so many little moments that meant the world to me. They fluffed my dress before I walked down the aisle, & Cookie came to the rescue more than once when my veil & dress seemed to have minds of their own! Those are the moments you don't necessarily think about when hiring a planner, but they made me feel so cared for & allowed me to stay present instead of stressing about the little things. There are countless moving pieces that go into planning a wedding, & having Jackie overseeing every detail gave us complete peace of mind. She has an incredible eye for detail & thinks of everything before you even realize it needs to be done. e our own planners, and ended with them leveraging our explicitly non-refundable retainer to force a highly restrictive $25,000 non-disparagement agreement (NDA) to prevent an honest review. When we initially asked for a standard business breakdown to justify their price, Jackie refused, unprofessionally stating the cost helped pay for a family member's tuition. We eventually signed a contract on April 7 for our August wedding, after pushing back on a clause granting them rights to our event imagery due to privacy. Jackie minimized our concern, claiming she "had little followers," before finally agreeing. Communication breakdowns immediately followed. Jackie abruptly booked our venue walkthrough without asking our availability, forcing us to explicitly request she consult our schedules moving forward. Due to their immediate international vacation, the walkthrough was delayed to May. At the May walkthrough, we had to repeatedly ask if our specific concerns were being noted. We never received a single follow-up or action item. Jackie also abruptly asked if we "owned our home"; when asked why, she stated she was "just being nosey." Design-wise, there was a massive disconnect between what we requested and what Cookie presented. With the June invitation deadline approaching, we had to provide highly detailed instructions to steer the designs back to our requested theme. She also failed to manage our digital event platform, pushing an app that lacked vital features and required us to unexpectedly pay out-of-pocket. As we fell grossly behind on sending physical invitations, we repeatedly asked for updates. They consistently blamed their other client obligations, with responses often involving complaints about her other weddings. Now June with little time left until our August wedding, we asked for a basic timeline and project updates. Rather than addressing this standard request, it took Jackie exactly 20 minutes to abruptly terminate our relationship, blaming our "lost confidence" in them. Following this, she offered to refund our retainer, quickly discovering this was merely leverage to coerce us into signing a predatory cancellation contract acting as an NDA. This contract introduced an extreme $25,000 penalty if we, or third parties like family and friends, made negative remarks or online reviews about their business. When we declined this predatory agreement, Jackie falsely cited a contract clause to withhold the refund, that it was contingent on us "not disparaging" her, and held our event vendor contact information hostage. We refused to sign the NDA. Tellingly, only after this did Jackie finally email our final design mood board and vendor contract. We sent a final communication requesting the remaining items they claimed to be working on (walkthrough notes, invitation mockups, florist lists, platform fixes), stating a lack of response would confirm the work was never done. By the time of writing, we have received zero files or proof of work, confirming they retained our money for services never rendered. Now, we are scrambling to find a new planner for a peak-season summer wedding.
