Above the mist wedding is exactly what it was. High on a mountain to see a stunning view of the Smokies. Staff are extremely helpful and professional. Photographer was respectful and courteous. Arranged for a cake as well. I couldn’t be more pleased. It was a beautiful wedding. This company is top notch. You won’t be sorry.

They were amazing, so helpful with everything. They had packages with photography, florists, etc. We only did a ceremony and it was amazing. It went so smoothly and the staff was so helpful. We chose the mountain view and the view was flawless and amazing. Thank you Above the Mist, you made my day so unforgettable!

We got married at the Mountain View location and it was absolutely gorgeous!! Our photographer, minister, florist and day of coordinator were included in our cost! They made our day run so smoothly we had extra time at the end for more pictures!!

This review is so over due!!! My husband and I got married back in November of last year in Gatlinburg Tennessee for a destination wedding! We came from Ohio but Tennessee always feels like our second home. We decided to look up some incredible vendors to plan our destination wedding, and Above The Mist was our absolute top choice. The girls with the group are beyond supportive, helpful, encouraging, kind, and reliable. Our wedding night is the night that we will truly never forget. From the floral arrangements, To the set up, the food, the photos, the cake of course, and our minister, Jeff, was incredible. Not a single disappointment. Jeff came to deliver out tables and chair to the Four Seasons Cabin we rented and kindly introduced himself. He asked us how we met, what makes us happy, any hardships we went through, and applied our conversation into a beautiful ceremony. I wish we could get remarried all over again because it’s over in a blink of an eye….. Jozy, our photographer, Cierra, our bartender, and Stacey, my main coordinator, go above and beyond to ensure our wedding day is a dream come true. They succeeded and I’m forever grateful for each of them.

Personally, I was the type of bride who didn’t want much to do with planning so this was perfect for us. Any questions I had were answered quickly. They are SO kind. Kat our photographer was amazing, she had so many ideas that I didn’t even need to tell her what shots I wanted because we did so many good ones! Above The Mist went above and beyond my expectations making my wedding day that much more special. Anything and everything that I want and asked for, they made possible even through the COVID-19 pandemic. Last minute changes that seemed stressful, they made happen in record time. There were no issues and they handled the day of very smoothly, all I had to worry about was getting ready and walking down to my husband.

I could NOT be happier with my experience at Above The Mist! My fiance and I had been going back and forth for a few weeks about possibly eloping and we decided on the spur of the moment on Friday to just do it! I called Above the Mist around 3 or so on Friday and asked them if there was any chance they could get us in for the next day and as luck would have it, they did have an opening! After arriving home, we packed frantically, and made the 6 hour trip to Gatlinburg. When we got there the next day, we met Stacy and the rest of the staff who were all very accommodating (especially with a rambunctious 4 year old in the mix). If you're looking to get away and tie the knot at a place that is not only beautiful but a place where you will be well taken care of, you need to give Above the Mist a call. You won't regret it!!!

We loved our experience with Above The Mist Wedding and Events. Although it did storm on our big day, they were able to make all of our mountain wedding dreams come true. Everything was planned in advanced and nothing was done without prior approval from us. They were super easy to work with and very accommodating especially with us being an out of state couple. We loved our minister who even spoke with each of us before the wedding to help make the ceremony more personable. The photographer we had was also amazing and was able to get us our pictures not only at the chapel but also had the mountain top venue we had wanted. It was truly the wedding of our dreams and we cannot recommend them enough.

My husband and I booked the Mountain View ceremony for our wedding and could not get over how stunning the view was! We had so many guest compliments about the location and ceremony itself. The minister, despite speaking to him for maybe 5-10 minutes prior, was able to make our ceremony so personalized and unique! We are very pleased with our experience with Above the Mist!

When beginning the wedding planning process, my fiance and I fell in love with Gatlinburg, TN and decided we wanted to do a destination wedding there. We are from Illinois and it is definitely challenging to plan a wedding from out of state when you don't know anything about the area or recommended vendors. I feel extremely grateful that I came across Above the Mist Weddings on The Knot because they fantastic to work with and made everything so very stress free and easy. Early on in the process, I worked closely with their staff to come up with an affordable customized package that met our needs. Throughout the planning process, they were always very friendly and responsive and able to work with me to make any changes that happened along the way, including having to postpone due to COVID. Leading up to the event, we were able to hash out all questions and special needs and their staff onsite, including their officiant and photographer, were all a delight to work with and made everything go so smoothly. I know they say that weddings are supposed to be one of the most stressful things to plan for in life, but I'm very happy to say that thanks to this great team, my stress level was very minimal the whole time and I really enjoyed my perfect day! Thank you for everything!

We are very unhappy with the package and service we received from Above the Mist. For the amount of money that we spent, we really expected a smoother process and higher quality of service. There was very little communication with the venue, the locations of the cabin/shuttle pick up/venue were unclear, this was equally my fault, but better communication would have prevented this misunderstanding. When we arrive at the "luxury cabin" the oven and stove were not working. We were told that Above the Mist had been informed, we were not notified by Hemlock Hills or Above the Mist. We had planned on finishing my wedding cake when we arrived at the cabin on Thursday and a repair man didn't arrive until around 5pm. We were left ordering an undecorated cake from WalMart and making do. The dish washer did not work & the hot tub had not been cleaned. We called for trash pick up multiple times and no one ever came. We couldn't set trash outside b.c of bears so we literally had bags of trash sitting around inside the cabin. We called Hemlock Hills numerous times and on the final day when we were leaving we were told that "we should have attempted calling again sooner" regarding the issues we had been having. We had already left several msgs with no response over the 4 day time span. How many phone calls should we have had to make when paying for a $450+/night "luxury cabin". The girl at the actual venue I believe her name was Destiny, was very nice, but she insisted that she knew how to lace up a corset back. I was so overwhelmed in the moment, and did not think to look at the back of my dress prior to the ceremony. It was over cinched and poorly laced that it was pulling at the threading and the fabric and made my dress ride up. In the photographs you can see how badly it is pulling at the fabric. It was supposed to lay flat. While doing the dress she actually suggested that she needed to "Break a seam b.c the alterations team had put it in wrong." This should have been my red flag. I told her no, that we had put on the dress half a dozen times with zero problems and she said she would "make it work"... It is very frustrating, b.c that is something that we can not go back and fix. I didn't realize that was the problem with my dress until I saw guest photographs. Destiny should look at how a corset back is supposed to be laced and how it should lay flat. The top of the lacing is supposed to hold the dress in place and it is supposed to come down to a smooth FLAT V shape. the "bottom" of the V does not function as a "cinch". I felt like I was Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind. It was not necessary to pull anything that tight. I also didn't realize until recently that we got zero pictures of the full wedding party, this was also partially my fault b.c I left my photograph list at the cabin, but an experienced wedding photographer should have caught that as well. It is kind of an important memory. The catering was late to the reception, other family members had tried to call & they did not answer or return the calls. When my husband got to the honeymoon cabin for the groom's party to get ready the door code we were given did not work and he had to stand outside for 20 minutes while Hemlock Hills walked him through how to re-code the door so they could get inside. Very little went right.

We had to reschedule everything last minute due to COVID and I am so glad we found Above the Mist. It was a wonderful experience and I was so happy with how things turned out. Our guests were impressed with everything as well.

I wasn't sure how things would go because I was coming from out of state and had never seen the venue before, but I took a chance with this company. It was definitely a chance worth taking. One thing that's great about this company is the prices.. They have a price that fits every budget! I loved that they was all inclusive because the less decisions I have to make the better!! Everything was perfect... The staff was helpful and very courteous.. The Mountain View was beautiful. The Minister was so genuine. I felt like I had known him my whole life. My flowers was perfect, and the photographer was friendly and creative. Above the Mist helped eliminate the stress out of my big day and made it a day of only Happiness! If your considering booking this venue, Do it. You won’t regret it!

Everything was perfect for our big day! The view was breathtaking. The photographer took plenty of pics. The minister Jeff was AMAZING, everyone went on & on about him! The cake was beautiful & tasted great & was even delivered to the restaurant of our small reception. The flowers were exactly what I had pictured & more. The bridal suit was so cute & perfect for us. We all had an amazing time & I highly recommend putting your wedding in the hands of this crew!!!

Above the Mist was very helpful in planning our getaway wedding. I had our wedding booked, paid, and fully planned three days after our engagement. They were super friendly and willing to answer any questions that I had. Also, they will modify to fulfill your dreams. Highly recommend them to anyone!

Leah was a joy to work with as she as very attentive and answered any and all questions we may have had. Tosca was a joy to work with and she truly captured our love in each and every photo! Leah was very helpful with setting everything over the phone , especially due to the pandemic. She answered any questions and followed up with us right before our wedding date . Our photographer Tosca was absolutely amazing and very creative with our pictures. Our minister Mr Buck was very personable and performed a beautiful ceremony. We just had our wedding on 10-10-20 at the Mountain View venue and let me just say: our wedding day was more than we could have ever imagine! Thankfully the rain held off and the misty skies truly did make for a beautiful view with the fall leaves peaking in! The entire staff over the past year of booking with them were so helpful and very attentive. They answer you back very quickly and they accommodated all we asked! They made our day go as smoothly as any bride and groom could have ever hope for! Our photographer, Destiny, was so amazing and on point. You can tell she knows exactly what she is doing!! She helped guide us, as well as our guests through the whole ceremony and made our whole time with them go so wonderful! And for Reverend Jeff never meeting us until the day of the wedding, he made it seem like he’s known us for years! He is truly so kind and all of our guests were so impressed and couldn’t have said more nicer things about him to us! He was truly amazing and we couldn’t ask for anyone better to marry us. Also, let me tell you- my bouquet and aisle arrangements were so full and stunning! AND our cake one literally one of the best cakes I have ever ate in my life! I can not express enough how amazing my whole experience was with Above the Mist! We chose a small out of state wedding, and from the first phone call they went above and beyond to help me have the very best experience on my wedding day. We had the best experience with Above the Mist and would highly recommend to any couples wanting to get married in Gatlinburg! Everything went perfectly and smoothly on our wedding day and it’s a day we will not forget. All the details of our wedding day were paid attention to which really means so much when you come from out of town and leave all the details up to people you have only spoken to over the phone and email. All the staff that I interacted with were friendly and professional and always responded to emails and calls and tried to help in any way they could. Destiney did an awesome job on our wedding photos and they turned out beautiful and the Mountain View venue is so pretty!! Another great thing about Above the Mist is how affordable the packages are and how you can take away and add to each package to make it fit to exactly what you want. Eloping made me a little nervous at first, but the team at Above the Mist was awesome! They were very responsive to phone calls and emails and every person I corresponded with was super nice and helpful. The Mountain View venue was absolutely gorgeous! The team went above and beyond our expectations! My now husband and I live in Michigan and we planned our entire wedding during the Covid-19/Quarantine restrictions with never seeing the venue in person until the day before the wedding. They were very professional and experienced, they didn’t let anything fall between the cracks. The team was always happy to answer every question I had. They had great communication skills and made it easy to coordinate my needs with the catering, florist, bakery/cake, DJ, organizing liens, setup/seating and decorations. Plus they did all the work for us which was such a load off our shoulders since we live so far away. The day of the wedding we had a beautiful bridal suite to get ready in. Our wedding coordinator, Jozy, was so helpful and in-control of the day which made it so easy for me to just enjoy and be in the moment. The Ceremony went smoothly and Rev. Jeff was great, but still down to earth, which was exactly what we wanted as our atmosphere! I am so grateful to have met him! The view was breathtaking, our photographer did an amazing job and our pictures turned out great... but to see the view in person is the only way to understand the beauty!! The DJ, Robert Sword, from Sword Sounds - Mobile DJ Services, was a blast and kept the party going all night!!!! He was also always checking in on us, making sure we had everything we needed!! He made our night! I was so happy with him, he was a very genuine, personable and talented! Our experience was exactly what we wanted for our wedding day!

We live in Ohio. Because of the Covid pandemic, we could not have a typical wedding. When States started reopening we decided to have a destination wedding in Gatlinburg. We started researching various vendors and although we talked to several, Above the Mist was the one that was more personable and willing to work a package that fit our ideas for the perfect wedding. We live in Ohio and were a little nervous about planning the wedding. However, EVERYONE at Above the Mist was wonderful! Our wedding was personally perfect!

I would absolutely recommend Above the Mist to anyone looking to get married in this area! We came in from Chicago, so arranged everything over the phone and via email and it was such a smooth and simple process. We chose the Mountain View venue and it was absolutely stunning! As a bride who didn't want to worry about a lot of little details, this was the best way to go! We also had a very intimate ceremony and I can't say that there was anything I would do differently.

Me and my husband had a small wedding/elopement on 3/21/220 at the Mountain View ceremony site and it was beyond my expectations by far! The staff were (for lack of a better word) AMAZING to work with! Even with gloomy weather, the ceremony site had a beautiful foggy vibe to it and looks awesome in our photos. I also received our "sneak peak" gallery a week early! All of the staff members were friendly, super helpful, and completely engaged during the entire process, from scheduling, planning, and the big day! I would recommend them to anyone!

If anyone wants to have an incredible wedding in the mountains, Above the mist is the way to go! From day one I felt incredibly comfortable with the whole staff and felt that all my concerns /questions were addressed so quickly and with as much care as if this was their loved ones wedding. The venue was breathtaking, the coordinator was amazing and took care of everything before, after and during the wedding so that all I had to do was show up and enjoy my special day. I decided to go with the pro photography with Kim and Im soooo happy I did because she did such an amazing job capturing my strong connection with my hubby. She had so many great photo ideas and although we had an allotted amount of time , I didnt feel rushed and felt that I got every shot I could have asked for (and then some). The minister was so funny and kind and even took the time to ask me questions about how we met so that he could incorporate it into our ceremony which made it that much more special. The flowers were exactly like the photo I had sent them and if this isnt all enough, my plain white wedding cake was the BEST cake I had ever had. super flavorful, and moist and just yummy. Everyone was raving about it! I'm so thankful I found this company and will forever remember this beautiful experience. Such a great stress free way to marry the love of my life. I had always wanted to get married either at the beach or in the mountains. Being from Northern Ohio, I don't live near either. So in the beginning, it was daunting to plan even a small wedding through the internet and out of state. The unknown of everything being far away would make any bride uncertain about trusting any company, to ensure all details were handled, let alone make it a smooth, memorable experience. These worries were put to rest as I started working with the staff of Above the Mist. Our overall experience working with Above the Mist wedding venue was simply amazing. Throughout planning and the experience, they remained very professional while being thorough, responsive and kind in ensuring all details and questions were handled in a reasonable amount of time. Despite being 6 hours away, this allowed me to feel confident while handling things on my end, building trust with the venue over time. In the end of it all, our wedding day ran smoothly and allowed me to not stress about the experience and enjoy it even more. Everything made this the day that I've always dreamed about as a young girl,become a reality. I searched through many locations and could not find exactly what we wanted to plan as our special day... Until we came across Above the Mist. Their packages are so amazing and can fit every need or want that you are looking to incorporate into your special day. The venues are beautiful! The staff was amazing they made me feel comfortable on a day that is often very stressful for the bride. Everything was organized very well and they never pressured me to spend more money. Above the Mist truly made my wedding an experience I could enjoy. They had the photographer, the music and set up ready to go! The photographer was amazing at directing the family and making us feel comfortable for photos. Everything was beautiful and I am so happy I chose Above the Mist to help plan our special day!

We live in southern Indiana and decided to get married in Gatlinburg, TN. I wanted to have a smaller wedding and a memorable experience for our close family and friends. I found Above the Mist online and crossed my fingers that it was as beautiful as it looked because we did not have the means and time to go see it prior to the wedding. Everyone was knowledgeable, flexible and friendly from day 1 - now. They never made me feel silly for changing up things a few times or asking questions. We had about 30 family and friends present from age 1-87 years old and everyone still talks about how perfect and beautiful not only the wedding was, but the also the accommodations and experience!

Everything about Above the Mist is amazing. I am from out of state and took a chance to plan an elopement. They were quick to call me back and respond to emails. They made everything sooo easy! The day of was amazing and everything we wanted. The reverend was great! The two ladies for photography were amazing too! Got out sneak peek pictures on and can’t wait to see the rest! We booked with Above the Mist online strictly from photos and other reviews (which is a little scary) but they went above and beyond our expectations. Everything was perfect! The flowers were more beautiful than I couldve imagined and the view from the mountaintop was so so breathtaking ! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue!

From the first call to Above the Mist Weddings, I knew right away that we would be getting married through their company. I told the lady on the phone what we envisioned and what our budget was and she took it from there. Above the Mist Weddings made everything so easy considering they literally do everything for you! We are from Tuscaloosa, AL and all we wanted for our wedding day was a beautiful mountain view background, so that being said, we went with the Mountain View Ceremony package. ​We loved the wedding venue. It really exceeded our expectations. The view was so beautiful that it took my breath away when I first walked up. It brings me to tears to think about all of my favorite people watching me as I walked down the isle to the man of my dreams with that gorgeous backdrop. It will forever be embedded in my head as one of the best days of my life.

My husband and I had the best experience with above the mist weddings! Everything went so smoothly even being 7 hours away. The in office wedding planners were amazing and helped keep everything organized. We loved the tux rental company, Beauty and the Beast! The owners were so nice and had a great selection. They are also very flexible with returns which was nice since we were out of town. Also, the pastor was great and made us both feel very welcome even though we only talked to him for a couple of minutes before the ceremony! Our wedding turned out great and it wouldn’t have been possible without above the mist weddings.

We loved our wedding through Above the Mist and found the planning process to be easy and streamlined, even though we were out of state. The planners did AWESOME with our service requests and personal touches and were very accommodating when we needed to change the date. They are super responsive and communicative and made everything a breeze. I absolutely loved my flower bouquet and the officiant they had at our service was so kind and thorough, even though we'd just met him that day. Be sure to vocalize your preferences leading up to and during the event - I found that all requests were met promptly and with no problem whatsoever. Would definitely recommend Above the Mist to anyone looking for a small, affordable option in a gorgeous setting.

Our wedding day was perfect! We chose the Mountain View location package & it was just stunning. The staff was there for everything I needed, the minister was so genuine & really took time to get to know us, the cake & food they catered was delicious & my flowers were beautiful. Our package also came with a 3 bedroom cabin that was close by the venue which was super convenient.
