Absolute Beauty by Wendy

I hired Wendy as my hair and make-up artist for my wedding and I can not recommend her enough! Hair and make-up was something I had put off when planning, and so needed to find someone available on relatively short notice. As someone who prefers a more natural look, I also had a hard time finding a make-up artist that worked for me. Given all that, Wendy was a god send! Both my hair and make-up trial went great (she understood exactly what I wanted, and absolutely delivered!). She was also amazing day of, she arrived right on time and was able to get through hair and make-up for me plus hair for 4 other members of the bridal party early! Everyone's hair and my make-up lasted all day, through photos, running around, an outdoor ceremony, and dancing. I highly recommend Absolute Beauty by Wendy for bridal hair and make-up!

Emely and Jinay from Absolute Beauty by Wendy did a great job for my wedding in September! They were able to take all my feedback into consideration from my hair and makeup trial and offer solutions to make sure the styles were exactly what I wanted for the big day. They traveled all the way to Madison, VA early in the morning and still made it to the location before our scheduled start time. They were both very patient with my mom and bridesmaids as they requested any modifications and they even made time to add a couple of unplanned hair and makeup services for more of my family members at the end. Their bilingualism in Spanish and English was a huge benefit to communicate more effectively with Spanish speakers in my family! Would recommend them both!

Wendy and her team were amazing and professional. Not only did they make myself and my ladies look fabulous for my wedding day but they were so kind, caring and calm. Their professionalism and kindness will always be something special I remember from my big day. Thank you again Wendy and team!

I had a wonderful experience hiring Absolute Beauty for my June wedding outside! Wendy and her team were very attentive to my party and their wishes for hair and makeup. They did a wonderful job on both, makeup lasted all day and never faded and curls stayed in even on one of my party member’s finer and naturally straight hair! Their knowledge and skill are incredibly reassuring. I felt so confident after my trial before the wedding, they are so thorough and they really work great together to bring you exactly what you want for your day. Highly recommend!

I found Wendy through the Knot and chose her over several other services due to her proximity to Washington, D.C. Many of the other hair and makeup artists that I've contacted are at least an hour or more out of D.C. and the cost of mileage for the hair and makeup artist was something I had to take into account for convenience and budget. I had Wendy for both my hair and makeup trial, which I used for my engagement photoshoot, and then used her team for the day of my wedding. Her packages were very straight forward and easy for me to figure out which services I wanted for myself and my wedding party. On the day of the trial, she was patient in listening to what type of makeup and hair I wanted. The engagement photos were classy and stunning, thanks to Wendy's work. On the day of the wedding, Wendy and her team worked hard to prep me, my mom and five other bridesmaids. Wendy did an excellent job with Asian-style hair, which everyone's hair kept up through the evening on a hot summer DC day. Her makeup artist did an excellent job taking our requests into account, and we all looked flawless. I am truly appreciative of Wendy and her team as I was a nervous about how we would all look. She takes feedback seriously and seeks to improve what you're looking for! Her prices are very fair, especially for the quality she puts into making me feel beautiful for both the trial and day of the wedding. Any bride is in good hands with Wendy. I would not look any further if you are having your wedding or engagement photo shoot in D.C. or at least the 10 mile radius outside of D.C.

Wendy and her team were absolutely fantastic to work with! I used Wendy's makeup and hair services for my engagement photo shoot as well as for the day of my wedding. She was so helpful and patient in helping me get the makeup look I wanted during the wedding trial process. I also saw her a few times for eyebrows in the lead up to the wedding; she gave me some great skincare advice and was able to recommend products that noticeably helped my skin. On the day of the wedding she and her team were very prompt, worked efficiently, and could not have been more patient or kind to myself and my bridal party. I felt really beautiful on my wedding day and can’t thank Wendy enough!

Wendy and her team are incredible makeup and hair artists. They calmed all my nerves about what I wanted to look like on my wedding day and made feel at ease on the day of. They worked with me to figure out exactly what I wanted, as I normally don’t wear makeup or have my hair done. They made sure to listen and talk me through makeup and hair styles I envisioned and that worked best with my skin and hair. They also worked with my mom who never wears makeup, to make sure she was comfortable as well. Which was really important to me. They treated us as individuals and not just faces to be painted. They were very professional and on time on the wedding day. They were finished before we needed to be but we never felt rushed. They were wonderful with my whole bridal party and helped everyone enhance their natural beauty. The price point is accurate for the amount of time and energy they spend on each client. Wendy was very responsive and very organized with the planning process. I highly recommend her and her team!! You won’t regret it.

Jackie and Jinay were a really fantastic pair. They are so friendly and calming and worked very hard to make sure everyone was pleased with the way they looked. As a result my bridal party loved their hair and makeup and we had no worries about our appearances that day. Before booking makeup and hair artists, I was very nervous about the whole process, but my trial with Jackie and Jinay eased my nerves. I had a chance to explain what I liked and didn’t like, and they perfected the vision for what I wanted on my wedding day. My bridal party was diverse in skin tones and age ranges, and they made everyone look fantastic. I highly, highly recommend.

Wendy was so sweet to work with! She really took the time to ensure that both my make up and hair was exactly what I would want knowing how picky I can be especially when it comes to my hair. She made me feel so at ease going into the wedding day and is incredibly personable to talk to. She is truly talented with her work outside of my chosen hair and make up style, I’m so glad I got to work with her❤️

The artists Wendy sent for our big day were incredible - we had 7 for makeup and 9 for hair, between all the bridesmaids, moms, and flower girls. Emely and Jinay NAILED the look we wanted for our DC wedding. The women are already gorgeous, but the makeup was beautiful yet not overkill - which is exactly what we wanted. I loved the natural look of their fake lashes too - all of them looked really nice on. The hair was modern, but different for all the women - all updos were absolutely gorgeous, too!!!! We cannot recommend Absolute Beauty by Wendy enough!!! Total perfection, and conversational, professional women who went out of their way to make our bridal party feel comfortable about their looks. And they all looked stunning! Hair and makeup all held up in 98 degree temps on our July 15 wedding, so that's how you know they did an awesome job!

Wendy did an amazing job. She worked with me during the trial to determine what colors would work best. The makeup was glamorous, but it still looked like me and brought out my best features. She welcomed me and my mother, matron of honor, flower girl and bridesmaid into her home studio. It was a great start to have us ready for the wedding in the afternoon. She added flowers that I brought into my flower girl's hair. It lasted all day!

Wendy was very patient with me as I could not decide what hair style I wanted. I made a change prior to my wedding and she happily worked her magic. Her work is simply beautiful and elegant. She made suggestions prior to my wedding to help my skin and it worked. If I have another event or attend a wedding, I would highly recommend her and her team. All my wedding party were simply beautiful with the hair and makeup from Wendy and her team.

We hired Wendy and her team for hair and make-up services for our wedding in September, and we're so happy we did! Wendy and her team were amazing! She was great to work with prior to the wedding (I changed my mind about hairstyle a few times and Wendy was so accommodating). Her team arrived early on wedding day to get set up and was able to work through a very large group of women for hair and make-up in a very organized and timely manner. Jinay (makeup) and Emely (hair) were a wedding day dream team. Jinay and Emely did a fabulous job making everyone in my bridal party shine including a wide range of hair textures, skin types/tones, and personal styles. I really enjoyed working with these ladies! I did a trial a few weeks before the wedding and shared some feedback regarding the longevity of the hair and makeup I had tried. WoW! I had such a great experience with Wendy from Absolute Beauty By Wendy. It was such a pleasure to work with Wendy. From the first moment I reached out to the moment I laid my head on my pillow …every interaction was focused on ensuring I looked my best for my big day. I did my research and realized quickly that Wendy is one of the best in the business. Once I picked my day, she was the first service I secured knowing she would be in high demand. I sent her an email to introduce myself and check on availability and she responded instantly. She is easy to reach by email or text and always responds promptly. Her contract was clearly written and helped me narrow in on what services I was interested in and she provided multiple payment options that made it simple to pay. Her services are priced well for the care and attention she provides. Prior to my “trial” appointment she sent clear instructions and asked for my vision so I was able to be prepared for my appointment. My “trial” was at her home studio which was easy to get to and park. Her studio was beautifully decorated and so clean it was spotless. She made sure I was comfortable and she streamed great music that made my pampering extra relaxing. My trial was awesome! We chatted throughout and she listened carefully to hone in on just the right style for both my hair and makeup. I couldn’t believe the transformation! After just 1.5 hour, I looked fantastic and Wendy nailed the look I wanted perfectly! I was so pleased with Wendy’s results I made additional appointments for a facial and eyebrow wax for my groom! The facial was the best I’ve had and she ensured my skin looked it’s best for my big day. And, bonus…Wendy is an expert in curly hair so she taught me how to care for my hair to reduce frizz and retain the curl. On my wedding day she arrive right on time, set up quickly with a comfy chair, bright lights and all the tools of her trade. My hair and makeup application was stunning, exactly what I had visioned and lasted all through the night… and boy was I dancing. ;) We finished right on time and she provided a focused, peaceful, relaxing moment as family were buzzing about helping out with various tasks. My wedding was outdoors and my hair and makeup looked just as good at 3 as it did at midnight although I had been outside in the sun and wind, shed a tear or two and danced like a crazy woman. Lastly, I was surprised how easy it was to take my makeup off before bed! It all washed off with little effort and I had no breakouts or reactions to any of the products. !!Wendy is FaNtAsTiC, a master of her craft!! She will nail your vision, you will be beautiful AND at peace. She will be easy to work with and like me… you might find a great new stylist and esthetician. ;)

Wendy and her team made all of my bridesmaids and me feel like absolute queens on my wedding day! Her team worked with a tight schedule, listened carefully to everyone’s preferences, and helped us all look our very best day-of. Of special note, her team expertly worked with different skin tones / types and hair textures, and that is a rare find! The makeup and hair even withstood hurricane rain and wind. Highly recommend!!!

Wendy and her sister Jackie were lovely to work with! I needed someone who could accommodate 12 people the day of, with widely varying hair lengths/textures/styles. They were super flexible and reasonably priced. Jackie and her team were with us most of my wedding day and were awesome. Everyone looked beautiful and everyone's styles held up shockingly well all night at an outdoor summer wedding!

Wendy's team did a beautiful job for my wedding. I chose them because I wanted a natural look. I don't wear a lot of makeup so it was important to me that I felt comfortable. I had a hair/makeup bridal trial session and they took their time with me making sure I liked everything. They took pictures and notes, so that everything would go smoothly on the wedding day and it did! Jackie and Nadia did hair and makeup for 7 people, including me. They were very punctual despite DC traffic and so easy to work with. They are worth every penny.

Working with Wendy and her team was an absolute pleasure! I would recommend them to any bride and her bridal party. Wendy did my hair and makeup (the bride) and I had seven bridesmaids plus the mother of the bride who also had hair and/or makeup done. Everyone looked flawless (we all went with the airbrush makeup which was more than worth it). Wendy and I had a good pre-wedding trial and the tweaks we decided for my hair after the trial worked perfectly the day of the wedding. Wendy is a genuinely kind person on top of being an top-notch professional. 10/10 experience.

Wendy and her team were wonderful to work with. I wanted a very specific look and Wendy pulled it off with flair, but very much on the bounds of what I wanted. I had wanted a 1920s/1930s old Hollywood glam and I honestly almost just like a reference photo for that. My entire wedding party looked so beautiful, everyone was in shock (and almost instantly wanted pictures) anytime they caught a look at themselves in the mirror. My sister was so happy with how she looked she asked Wendy for lessons! So having Wendy for my wedding even lead to a lovely Birthday present for my sister. My family definitely wants to keep working with Wendy and her team ...we just now have to find more excuses 😂😂😂

We had Wendy’s team do my bridal makeup, bridesmaids, and both my mother and mother of the groom. They listened to each person’s specific needs and what they wanted for hair and makeup. Not only were they professional and kind- but they absolutely knocked it out of the park. We looked INCREDIBLE. If you are at all worried if this is right for you, I suggest doing a hair and makeup trial first. Doing a trial completely took away any fears that I had made the right choice.

Wendy was responsive from the beginning. I was able to quickly schedule a practice makeup and hair session and she made adjustments based on my feedback. She showed up early on the day of my wedding, and did an amazing job with my hair and makeup! She took my feedback into consideration when doing my hair and makeup, and gave me the natural look I was going for. During our trial session, she advised me to keep the hair and makeup on all day, so I would be able to see how it performed on the actual day. I'm glad I listened because I realized my eyes were irritated by the end of the day, so I provided her with that feedback on the lash sizes, and she managed to find some beautiful lashes for the day of. Absolutely loved the look in my photos, couldn't have asked for anything better!

I had need of a hair artist two months out from my wedding, and Absolute Beauty by Wendy answered my inquiry right away. Wendy was extremely responsive and worked with me through many last minute changes. My hair trial with Jackie, the hair artist who would be there day of, was exactly what I wanted, and both Wendy and Jackie were so kind. Jackie was indispensable on the day of, and everyone was thrilled with her work. She gave everyone exactly what they asked for and even wrapped up early! I would recommend this team to absolutely any bride, they are stellar.

Wendy and her team were amazing! I loved that the bridal trial was included in the price. The day of the wedding they came in right on time set up and got started. We were pushing it a bit on time but that very well could have been our fault. The girl doing my bridesmaids' hair was magical. They showed her a picture and she made it even prettier. All of my bridesmaids were raving about the skin prep before the makeup. Everyone looked so beautiful!
