An absolutely beautiful & spacious & affordable ceremony venue! We booked from out of state and it was a very simple process. Easy to book and doesn't need much additional decoration (unless you want loads of flowers - I was pretty minimalist). Our coordinator Mary Lou was friendly, knowledgable and had a great sense of humor (necessary because weddings can be crazy with all those family and friends in one place)! She made our rehearsal and wedding run smoothly - I'm so thankful!
If you're Catholic and looking to get married in Southeast MI be sure to consider ASoH! You'll be glad you did!
We had a beautiful Catholic ceremony! The chapel provided an intimate atmosphere allowing us to feel comfortable and connected with our guests. The grounds outside were beautiful for additional wedding pictures in a lush, green, nature like setting. The even coordinator Danielle made the experience! She helped us every step of the way. She was always available to meet in person and was easy to contact through email. Danielle helped us when selecting readings and organized how the procession would go. She even ran the rehearsal when our priest was late to arrive.
On the day of the wedding Danielle was extremely calm, professional, and organized. She made sure that everyone was in their place and was great with the timing of everything. The bride and bridesmaids waited in a Victorian style parlor room which was gorgeous for pictures. It was a very calming room to be secluded in before the ceremony started.
Overall a great location for an intimate, comfortable, and well organized wedding ceremony. The chapel and grounds are beautiful! Danielle was so kind and easy to work with! We had a great experience and received such positive compliments from our guests.
The Chapel at the Academy of the Sacred Heart was a wonderful spot to have my wedding ceremony. I grew up in the area but no longer live there, and needed a church to host our catholic wedding. The coordinators at the Academy were extremely helpful and welcoming.
Since my husband and his family are Catholic and my family and I are nondenominational Christian, this was one of the few places we could get married without one of us having to convert or offend family. Danielle was very helpful in coordinating the day and making sure everything went smoothly. My husband and I were living in another state at the time and she helped coordinate with our priest and kept everyone in the loop.
The chapel is beautiful! Traditional stain glass windows and pews. Pews are close to alter and only fit five people on each side which creates a very intimate wedding. The wedding coordinator at the Academy is very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend it!
