Transitioning into the private event space, Martin has continued to showcase his versatility by DJing weddings, corporate events, and high-profile nightlife venues. He’s opened for nationally renowned acts like GRiZ, Gramatik, and Pretty Lights, crafting dynamic sets that leave audiences wanting more. Shawn’s career as a DJ began after graduating from UNC Wilmington’s nursing program, where a side hustle behind the decks turned into a full-time passion. By 2001, he had traded his stethoscope for turntables and quickly became a staple in Wilmington’s nightlife, building a reputation across the region, by expertly reading crowds and creating unforgettable energy. Now focusing on weddings and private events, Shawn’s experience and creativity make him one of our most requested DJs. He keeps guests of all ages entertained and the dance floor packed by seamlessly blending classic hits with remixes—often crafting custom edits himself to match the vibe. Known for his professionalism and ability to handle unique requests, Shawn brings a personal touch to every celebration, ensuring a night to remember.

Mike, also known as DJ Brewtal, is a Wilmington native with over a decade of experience DJing across the East Coast. As a longtime understudy of Shawn Booth, he has honed his craft and become one of Wilmington’s most sought-after DJs. From house parties to festivals, corporate events to nightclubs, Mike thrives in connecting with diverse audiences and delivering unforgettable performances. With career highlights that include sharing stages with nationally touring artists like Ludacris and Marshmello, Mike has built a reputation for his exceptional skills and infectious energy. Currently, he’s the official DJ for the UNCW Seahawks, further cementing his presence in the local community. When he’s not on stage, Mike enjoys grilling up mouthwatering meals, entertaining friends, and spending time with his girlfriend and their two pups. His passion for music and dedication to his craft ensure every event he plays is one to remember.

Originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, Kaleb brings over a decade of DJ experience to the Active team. Born into a musical family, he was originally a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who was introduced to the craft of DJing by his freshman roommate at West Virginia University, where he graduated with a degree in Marketing. While in Morgantown, he quickly went from DJing fraternity and sorority parties to holding residencies at four different nightclubs, supporting national touring artists, and providing music for corporate, private, and sponsored events. He’s able to cater to any demographic, and is comfortable with all genres of music — whether that means mixing Benny Goodman into Big Sean, John Denver into Drake, or Cameo into Kesha. When he’s not DJing, you’ll most likely find him at Wrightsville Beach trying to score a few good waves before clocking in as a solutions engineer for nCino. Kaleb, his wife, daughter, and the growing vinyl collection are proud to call Wilmington home.

Although he’s new to Wilmington, Dan’s club and mobile DJ experience spans a decade, having been a resident DJ in nightclubs and lounges in Buffalo, New York. For most of his career Dan held a residency at a premier wedding facility, bringing his high energy and fun personality to music and events. Dan brings an extra peace-of-mind to your wedding or event: he’s a paramedic for New Hanover Regional Medical Center by day, and holds a third-degree black belt in karate.

Hailing from Kinston, NC, Jesse V’s journey into DJing started with his natural ability to set the vibe at parties. Armed with just his phone playlists, Jesse quickly gained a reputation as the go-to music guy, which led to his first DJ gig. Since then, he’s been making waves in Wilmington and beyond, earning his spot as a resident DJ at The Husk and building a reputation as an entertainer who knows how to bring the energy. Balancing a day job in the insurance industry, Jesse brings a diverse range of musical tastes to every event. From rock and reggaeton to country and hip hop, his versatility allows him to craft the perfect soundtrack for weddings, corporate events, and private parties alike. No matter the occasion, Jesse’s goal is simple: to make every celebration unforgettable.

Originally from Florida, Cam began his musical career at a young age. For more than ten years, he played percussion in a variety of ensembles, from jazz bands to symphony orchestras, touring throughout Florida and the southeastern United States. A graduate of the University of Florida, Cam is no stranger to a good party. Since moving to the Wilmington area, he regularly DJs at some of Wilmington’s hottest bars and clubs, where he’s known for always bringing the energy. He especially loves spinning remixes and mashups of today’s hottest hits with timeless classics that keep the party going strong all night. By day, Cam is a proud active-duty Marine. When he’s not at work or DJing, Cam enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog, exploring eastern North Carolina’s hidden treasures.

Although Craig is a newcomer to the Wilmington area, DJ’ing is nothing new to him. With more than 23 years of experience in the business, Craig has played hundreds of events — weddings, reunions, proms, birthday parties, conventions, and clubs — throughout the Carolinas. Chalk up Craig’s seamless and creative mixes to his mathematical mind. He’s a graduate of Fayetteville State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Craig also teaches math and coaches tennis at Topsail High School.

Matt Hause’s DJ journey began behind the scenes, setting up equipment for some of the East Coast’s best DJs. As a Wilmington native with a passion for music, Matt quickly transitioned from support roles to commanding the decks, dedicating countless hours to mastering his craft. His work ethic and natural talent propelled him to become one of the area’s most exciting DJs. Known for his ability to read a crowd and create unforgettable moments, Matt has earned a reputation for keeping dance floors buzzing all night long. His sets reflect a deep understanding of music and a commitment to delivering the best experience for every audience. When he’s not DJing, Matt can be found on the golf course, hanging out with friends, or enjoying the vibrant Wilmington community. His energy and dedication make him a standout in any setting.

Ray’s passion for music began at age nine when he picked up a guitar, setting him on a lifelong journey of sound. Growing up in the rhythm-rich island communities of the Marshall Islands, Hawaii, and Wrightsville Beach, Ray developed a natural connection to music, surfing, and adventure. While his early days were spent playing in bands, it was the rise of electronic music during college that sparked his love for DJing. What started as spinning tracks at house parties soon turned into professional gigs at local venues. With over 11 years of DJing and 15+ years in audio production, Ray has built an impressive career. He’s held multiple long-term residencies, opened for major acts like GRiZ, Break Science, Carnage, and R3hab, and cultivated a unique style that keeps crowds moving. When Ray isn’t behind the booth, he’s exploring the outdoors, kayaking, or traveling with his girlfriend Carrie and their dachshund Paddy. His love for adventure and connection to the rhythm of life bring a one-of-a-kind energy to every set he plays.

Since 1996, Charles has DJ’d for radio stations, bars, nightclubs, corporate events and weddings. That well-rounded, professional experience has helped him develop a unique style and sharp ability to read and entertain crowds. He’s now one of the most sought-after wedding DJs in southeastern North Carolina. Charles is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he received a bachelor’s degree in communications. He lives in Wilmington with his wife and two little girls.

Yoel, a native Spanish speaker, who was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, moved to North Carolina when he was 17 and graduated from UNCW with a Bachelor’s in Business. Yoel got his start DJing a Latin night in Wilmington, and now, with 20 years of club and private-event experience, he’s become a staple in the DJ community– known for his knowledge of Latin genres, like Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Reggaeton. Currently, you can regularly find him DJing at places like The Reel Cafe, Social House of Tequila, The Husk, Mariposa, and True Blue Butcher & Barrel. Rio loves to keep a high-energy dance floor with his ability to read the crowd, playing the right track at the right time. His passion for music production makes it likely you’ll hear him slipping some of his awesome original edits in the mix. Rio is very active in his community through cultural awareness events with UNCW’s Centro Hispano and other community-centric organizations. In his downtime, if he’s not doing something that involves music, Rio has a beautiful family that keeps him loved and busy – a lovely wife, two children on the North Brunswick High School wrestling team, three chihuahuas, five chickens, and a guinea keet.

Tristan Burns is a powerhouse saxophonist whose skill, energy, and passion have made him a standout in the Wilmington music scene. Born and raised in Wilmington, NC, Dane Britt has been immersed in music from an early age. He started studying music at 11 and, by 13, was reading and writing sheet music. In the early 2000s, he marched with drumlines and drum corps, further honing his skills and deepening his love for percussion. Over the past 25 years, he has played drum set with countless artists and groups, including Yelawolf, while also sharing stages with acts like The Avett Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Beyond music, Dane has spent the last two decades as a professional motorcycle stuntman, appearing in movies, TV shows, and live performances across the country. He has ridden for major brands like Miller Lite, Activate Vitamin Water, and Monster Energy, bringing the same precision and energy to his stunts as he does to his music. Whether behind the kit or on two wheels, Dane is all about delivering high-impact performances. His deep musical roots and electrifying stage presence make every show unforgettable, proving that rhythm and adrenaline go hand in hand.

He’s shared the stage with nationally touring artists, like Zeds Dead, and has spent years refining his ability to read a room, seamlessly transitioning between genres to keep energy levels high.
