I would highly recommend Adrienne for premarital counseling. She is very down to earth, and she is realistic about the expectations for marriage and relationships. She really helped my husband and I to communicate better with each other. I would recommend purchasing the package with the most number of sessions--you will be glad you had the extra time to learn and practice communication skills and hear Adrienne's advice. She is wonderful!
My husband and I are so happy we made the choice to meet with Adrienne prior to getting married. My husband wasn't too into the idea of meeting with a counselor and was really just doing it to make me happy. After our 1st session he had completely changed his mind. Adrienne was so easy to talk to, she was straight-forward and honest and really helped us learn more about one another. We both felt so comfortable opening up to her, which made the process so much more productive. We learned how to communicate better and there are lessons we learned that we are still using. We will absolutely use Adrienne again in the future!
My fiancé and I went to Adrienne for pre-marital counseling, not least because getting the counseling saves a bundle on the wedding license. What we realized was that we had plenty to discuss--important things. Adrienne put us at ease as she revealed our strengths and weaknesses as a couple, showed us what we'd need to pay attention to in our marriage, and offered exercises we've used ever since to bridge our personality differences and bring us closer together. Very recommended, especially for those who may be unfamiliar with counseling or unsure if it's for them.
This was definitely one of the best things we bought ourselves in preparation for the wedding. We chose Adrienne because she had a structured program, which gave us a jumping off point for all the things we didn't know we had to talk about.
We had been together six years and still had another year before the wedding- and we didn't know when we started how important it was going to be to have these sessions. To freshen up our connection and sort out expectations we had taking the next step.
My husband was nervous about going- he figured I would be doing all the talking- but he was surprised how excited and open he was when he was there because it was someone who wasn't picking sides- she's fair and objective.
When spending money on things that last for the one day, it's easy for us to see the value in the things that have lasted beyond the wedding- we still use techniques and skills we learned during our sessions in our marriage today.
Meeting with Adrienne was incredibly helpful for my fiancee and I. She has a unique gift. She makes you feel comfortable quickly and helps you recognize your hopes and fears for marriage. It's been said before but that doesn't make it any less true, she offers a great, objective, 3rd point of view. We learned a lot about ourselves, each other, and our relationship.
Meeting with Adrienne was one of the highlights of our whole wedding experience. My fiance, who was somewhat hesitant about the idea of "counseling", mentioned during the process how glad he was that we were doing this. I smile when he brings up conversations we had in Adrienne's office. We still find ourselves quoting our lessons learned - from our completely customized sessions - and using the ideas Adrienne gave us. Our biggest disconnects were spending habits and romance, so Adrienne helped us plan out a different kind of budget and introduced ideas to spice up our date nights. Best $ spent from our entire wedding budget!
While we spent only 2% of our wedding budget on premarital counseling with Adrienne Laursen, it was by far the best money we spent on the entire event. We'd meet Adrienne after work, go to dinner and still be talking about our session and our 'homework' after we crawled into bed for the night. While we are already a great couple, Adrienne helped us be an even better family. She helped us talk about sensitive topics and communicate more effectively that ultimately left us feeling even closer to one another. We'll continue to see Adrienne annually for a marriage 'tune up' because she's an excellent relationship coach.
I would recomend that every couple planning a wedding spends time with Adrienne. The things we learned from our talks with her were invaluable. My husband and I started communicating in ways that we never were able to before and really started understanding each other better. Adrienne took the time to get to know each of our needs/concerns and then shared a new perspective.
My wife and I have known Adrienne for nearly at least 2 years now and she has been the wonderful 3rd party set of ears that EVERY SINGLE couple should meet with at least a few times. The thing that's quite insightful about her is the fact that she listens and THEN speaks. She challenges and motivates. She's funny, professional and timely. She made us feel at home in her zen-like office with comfortable chairs and the drive to make us open us and figure out what both of us want, not just what one of us wants to hear.
We highly recommend her, she was a fantastic asset to our pre and post-wedding life!
My husband and I have nothing but good things to say about Adrienne. We were both skeptical about trying counseling...thinking we needed a major problem first! Talking with Adrienne before our wedding was a huge blessing. Even after 5 years together we found areas in our relationship where we needed to be more open. She tailored our sessions to what we wanted and steered our conversations to what we needed to talk about. We are so glad we took the time and money to invest in premarital counseling and are very happy we went with the Engagement Coach. A must for newly-engaged or newly-married couples!!
Adrienne was such a big help in the months leading up to our wedding. Wedding planning is stressful and couples can sometimes lose sight of the big picture. She helped us keep our relationship strong and on track throughout our engagement. She is easy to talk to and seemed to really care about us as both individuals and as a couple. Would highly recommend to all couples!
I think every couple should budget money for premarital counseling and I think Adrienne is one of the best. She only focused on issues that related to my husband and me. She made us look at our relationship on a deeper level but also gave us very helpful tools to be a better couple. Again, the tools were not cookie cutter rules of thumb but applied directly to us. Adrienne was fun and very easy to talk to. She is fair, open minded, and understanding. Both my husband and I loved her and would highly recommend her to any couple! If it's not in your wedding budget cut something else out to make it part of your budget!
