If you don't want your DJ to come unprepared for your big day you found the right dj. Everything seemed to be on track for a successful wedding day until the DJ arrived. He showed up unprepared and when our timeline changed he was not flexible in wanting to start early. Once he finally started we asked him to introduce us and play our introduction song. He only introduced us, never played the song and never apologized for not playing it and making us awkwardly walk up to the table in silence. (Barn wedding longer walk) In preparation we gave him an outline of the night and a playlist of songs we wanted played with throughout the night. I had to go up to him every time for him to change, introduce, or update the guests on what's coming up. This made for some very awkward pauses during the reception. He later admitted that he didn't have any of his paperwork from our meeting and greet meeting. After we struggled through the first dances he insisted on playing his stock music and was asked by my sister to turn on our playlist, to which she got the reply of "I'll get to it, I know what I'm doing." When he finally got to our songs he had multiple songs that were bootleg recordings. In which the song (Greece) he had illegally downloaded had some podcasters breaking down the song and doing a voice over explaining their favorite parts. Overall a very disappointing experience and was only reinforced by our follow up meeting with the parent company, when told about the issues we had experienced with Kelly were met with empty apologies and excuses. If we knew the quality we were going to receive I would have just asked one of my friends to play Pandora or Spotify and we would have been better off.
