It wasn’t until after the ceremony that we heard someone comment that Greg of Affairs to Remember was “the godfather of the Seattle DJ scene”, and it’s easy to see why. Greg’s energy matched what we wanted from our wedding: Laid-back lounge during happy hour and dinner, then dancing until closing time. He expertly em-ceed the transitions between our formal entrance, our first dance, speeches, and even had songs ready to go for each “award” that we gave out during our thank-you speech. We appreciated Greg’s thoroughness leading up to the wedding, too. Neither of us had wedding parties, so the ceremony itself was short, but Greg encouraged us to take the time to think about the songs we wanted to walk to. Thank you, Greg, for making ours an affair to remember.
There is so much to say, all fantastic. Greg walked us through all aspects of music selection and gave us great tips when we were stuck and indecisive. Before the ceremony and during the ceremony, Greg did a great job to account for the high winds. But he was especially great when the venue’s power went out immediately after the ceremony. He took charge and made sure our night was perfect and unforgettable. We are completely grateful for everything Greg did and we would highly recommend him for your wedding.
We honestly did not realize how much of a huge positive impact a great DJ/MC could have until we worked with Greg for our wedding. We went into the music portion of our wedding planning completely blind and directionless. Greg helped guide us with immensely helpful forms defining which portions of the ceremony and reception could have music and great examples and recommendations for everything. He was so game for all of our ideas and it was clear that he had experienced all styles and approaches with his past clients, so we knew he would understand and execute no matter what our vision was. His communication with us and with our wedding planner was nothing short of excellent. He flawlessly helped our day progress through our timeline with his MC-ing and when it came to dancing he read the room incredibly and created such a perfect mix of music. His extensive experience in the industry cannot be understated or underappreciated!! We had the most perfect experience with Greg and are forever grateful!
Great did a great job you did at our wedding!! It was just the style and energy we were looking for and our guests really did enjoy and have fun!
The ceremony went off perfectly and I thought everything flowed so smoothly. 😊 I noticed the bassa nova during dinner and all the other touches or “must hear” artists that we discussed. Most importantly, we loved that the crowd was dancing (and dancing, and dancing) until midnight.
Greg was easy to work with and fun to talk too! I also really enjoyed our planning session at home he brought great ideas when we didn't know what we wanted.
Greg's knowledge, care, and experience made my wedding day so great! My guests and I loved the music and danced the night away! We love Greg!
Greg Lowder’s knowledge of popular and obscure music is simply impressive. Greg was generous with his time, carefully listened to the bride’s musical recommendations, and digested our playlists. The end result was a wedding celebration that rocked the Rainier Club with the bride dancing up the storm. Not only was Greg knowledgeable, patient and responsive, but his service was great value. We very much enjoyed every interaction with him. We share the same birthday - we may have to invite him out to our celebration next year.
We were really having trouble finding a DJ we liked and trusted. Once we talked with Greg, we knew that he was the DJ for us. Not only did he work with us long distance via telephone since we are currently located in Portland but he was extremely helpful with nailing down our main vision: to enjoy and have fun and that our guest enjoy themselves. All our guests rant and rave how much fun they had and about the music. My husband and I were extremely impressed with his level of professionalism, the time he took to get to know my husband and I and what our vision was for the reception. We would recommend Greg to anyone and everyone!
Greg Lowder was amazing! We met with him 3 times before our wedding and felt this really established a relationship to get to know one another and what we wanted for our reception. The book he gave us was very helpful in planning and gave us ideas for originality. The day of our wedding Greg did an amazing job at "feeling out" the crowd and playing songs based off of what people were dancing to. Thank you Greg for everything! Everyone dancing on the floor was one of my favorite parts of the night!
He was great to work with. Meets with you a few times before the wedding and gives you great reference books!
Greg (Affairs to Remember) is more than a fun and professional DJ entertainment service he was also a tremendous help in planning the reception for our wedding. He listened and understood our vision for the wedding reception and made intelligent recommendations (that we often took) drawn from a wealth of experience as a wedding DJ. He helped guide us in making decisions regarding the timing of events, choice of games, first dance ideas, song ideas, and much more. Greg took the time to meet with us several times to plan out the event and was accommodating to all of our needs. Our reception was a hit, and Greg was the one orchestrating it. Thanks Greg!
Greg was great! He was flexible on meeting times and met us as many times as we needed during the planning process. He had some great ideas when planning the music; he thought outside the box. He really supported our ideas and agreed with us that none of those "filler" songs (like YMCA and We are Family) should ever be played at a wedding.
During the wedding, he kept things on a great time line. He really wants to make the day all about you.
He is like Pandora... its wonderful!
Greg went above and beyond what I would expect any DJ to do. After hiring him, we met several times. He helped me find vendors I was still looking for as well as provide us with books on planning the perfect reception and a first dance video. He helped me plan out the timeline of the evening and worked great with my other vendors. My biggest concern when looking for a dj was that they were going to be "CHEESY". After meeting with Greg, I knew I wasn't going to have to worry about that. He made the evening flow seamlessly and accommodated us very well. He is an incredible DJ and is excellent at what he does!
Greg was great to work with. He was a big help in figuring out the wedding/reception schedule and determining what music would work best at different times during the day. He also gave us some great ideas for the reception. His talent as an emcee kept everything moving smoothly without seeming rush. He worked with our vendors to help make out day as stress free as possible.
He was very flexible about meeting times and would meet with us anywhere as often as we wanted. He was also great about advising us on our reception schedule and pointing out other items we should think about. He helped us out a lot - beyond just music. Also as emcee at our reception he was great about making announcements and moving things along without making himself the center of attention. He also did a great job of coordinating with our other vendors to make sure everyone was ready for each part of our reception.
