ive the day-of staff a rating, that would be 5 stars. Overall, the A-Frame Club was a great venue for a small, non-traditional wedding where you want that MCM mountain wedding vibe. Our guests who stayed there had a blast, and we’ve received so many comments about how amazing the food was. But it did not go without its share of complications — all having to do with sudden, major cost increases, ever-changing rules for the property, and an inability to get any concrete answers (and sometimes responses at all). We booked early with them and were one of their first weddings, so a few hiccups were to be expected, but the hiccups were mostly from a cost perspective and bad business decisions, which should not be on the couple and should be on the business. The Good: The venue itself is just what we wanted: affordable, in WP, where our clostest friends & family could stay on site, and the whole event was in one place. Day/weekend of: the staff ran everything effortlessly and without any issues (that we were aware of). All of the staff that worked the event were great, and I can’t say enough about how amazing the food and cocktails were. They went above and beyond to make our day and weekend special. The Bad: In a nutshell, we were constantly told that the pricing was increasing (food went up 3x, alcohol went up 2x) things that were included were no longer included (his/hers cocktails, dessert), and the end time for the wedding kept getting pushed earlier with the “ability” to pay more to stay open late (which was our original end time to begin with). All were things we had previously agreed to, but they were quite proud of the fact that none of this was in a contract, therefore there was nothing we could do about it. They worked with us on some of this to ‘meet in the middle’ from their previous manager's poor pricing choices, but again, this shouldn’t be on the couple already spending a lot. Some of the management would get testy when questioning the sudden changes and, on a few occasions, mentioned they could cancel the wedding if we didn’t oblige. We do know many of the staff have since quit because this was all a directive of their corporate players. — The wedding was just what we wanted and as mentioned ran smoothly once we were there. Just make sure and get everything in writing so that they can’t continue to squeeze more $$ out of you like they did us.
