A beautiful, unique, and historic venue
The Greek word Agapae is best translated as unlimited, unconditional love. With our ancient live oak trees reaching up and outwards, we hope all those who visit to experience expansive connection over time and place.
The family owners of Agapae Oaks have lovingly cared for and shared with the community this beautiful marshfront property since purchasing it 35 years ago. It has hosted many weddings and events, including annual camps for underprivileged children from the Carolinas. We aspire to place our hopes and dreams looking toward the future, where strength of commitment, selfless connection, and an overcoming-type of love will build lasting years of promise, mutual service, and joy.
Couples are free to design their own custom wedding with the many potential ceremony and reception areas. In the shadow of our own beautifully crafted wooden cross if desired, you might choose to be married under palmettos, pecan, and live oak trees that line our expansive marsh view, beneath an ancient “angel oak” tree in front of a wildlife filled freshwater pond and footbridge, or near the graceful porch steps of the historic home. Your reception can be under the stars or under a rented tent alongside our marsh front, not far from the 1700’s house. We allow vendors of your choice for your elopement, micro-wedding, or largest possible gathering of friends and loved ones.
Our 100- acre property offers complete privacy, though it is located less than 15 minutes from major stores and 20 minutes from charming Beaufort and beaches like Hunting Island State Park and Fripp Island Resort. You may celebrate all through the night.
Bridal party preparation spaces are beautiful and comfortable in themselves, located in both the Main House and our Yellow Bunk House. We even offer on-site sleeping accommodations for up to 22 guests for a very reasonable flat rate for the weekend. Because we rent the property mostly for a weekend (for larger weddings), you are able to enjoy long walks in our meadows, fishing on the dock, rehearsal dinner or other spontaneous gatherings, and relaxing on the breezy front porch as a private getaway for your dearest family and friends.
Located in the heart of The Low Country near Beaufort, South Carolina, Agapae Oaks shares the area’s natural beauty. The Plantation House dates back to 1790 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Ancient live oaks, pecan orchards, ponds and large vistas of pristine marshlands grace the property.

Every aspect of this venue was incredible. From the ample sleeping arrangements to the stunning property, any couple would be lucky to get married here! There is not a bad spot on property and Troy (the property manager) was so accommodating for any and all last minute details. He set up our pews and made sure that our specific ceremony site was in perfect condition. Amy (the owner) was prompt in her communication and provided so much detail beforehand that we were very prepared for vendor and guest questions. The views from this property are straight out of a fairytale and we are still recieving compliments from guests about how beautiful Agapae Oaks is! I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to get married in the lowcountry!

I will say that this venue was beyond perfect! It was a southern coastal dream & more. I felt that we were in a fairy tale all weekend. I HIGHLY recommend this venue especially for the price of having the venue for the weekend and having sleeping accommodations on site. Which were very comfy which I was worried about with it being a historic home. You and your wedding party get to live the dream all weekend with out ever having to leave the party. We got married over a fall weekend and I was concerned that no TVs or Wifi would become a problem. I can say I forgot all about that as soon as we arrived. My guest didn't notice either. ADDVICE: pay the extra few bucks for pest control. It was totally worth it. Troy and Amy are AMAZING to work with. Working in the hotel industry I have high standards & I was thoroughly impressed of how accommodating they were! Thank you for all the suggestions and giving us the best place to start our forever!

From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew this was going to be our ceremony and reception venue. The property manager, Troy, was such a joy to work with, helping us to configure out the logistics, answering ALL of our questions, and just being overall wonderful throughout. Amy was easy to communicate with and provided tons of wonderful resources on vendors and the area, which was especially appreciated since we were a destination wedding. It is such a stunning property, and we would choose it time and time again. We cannot recommend it enough!

Just so beautiful. This wedding venue was an absolute dream and allowed my wedding to be everything I wanted and more. From the days leading up to the big day, where we were in the wedding venue house working on flowers and prepping last minute items, to the send off. I loved every second I was on the property. Amy and Troy are so great and easy to work with - they are accommodating and flexible. The accommodations were perfect - all of the girls slept in the house the night before and we had a blast. The guys did as well. Loved it. I could not recommend more.

An absolute dream of a venue! Everything we could have imagined and more. Amy was so wonderful throughout the entire process, and even took the time to give us a facetime tour prior to booking, as we live out of state. Troy, the groundskeeper keeps the place absolutely immaculate and was so helpful and courteous throughout our weekend. There is something very magical and special about this venue!

Agapae Oaks was the most perfect venue for our Lowcountry wedding! We wanted a venue that showcased all that Beaufort, SC has to offer and we felt like we won the lottery. The scenic backdrop of the oaks and the river flooded our instagram and facebook feed for weeks after the wedding and so many guests complimented the whole property. The fact that the whole wedding party got to stay out there together was also a huge advantage and made the day-of go so smoothly. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL venue and would recommend to anyone wanting the perfect lowcountry wedding!

We had our wedding at Agapae Oaks in February 2023, and only have wonderful things to say about the property. Despite not choosing to sleep in the houses on property, we were able to have access from Thursday to Sunday, which allowed us to utilize the beautiful lawn for multiple events. The sunsets over the marsh are expansive and incredible. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the space was. Troy, the property manager, was always helpful and responsive. As long as couples know that you have to bring most of the vendors in (including lighting, tent, bathrooms, rentals etc), it was the perfect spot to have a beautiful wedding and big party!

Hosting our wedding at Agapae Oaks was one of the best decisions that we made. I am a wedding planner in Charleston, SC - so finding a venue that felt special to me was super important. I didn't want to get married somewhere that I worked most weekends, but still wanted to quintessential charm of the Lowcountry. When we found Agapae Oaks - we knew it was perfect for us! We loved the location in Beaufort, the views, the wide open spaces for tenting, and the fact that we were able to start set up a few days early.
Amy and Troy made the experience so wonderful. They answered many questions and were always kind and gracious in their responses. Our guests were equally as impressed with the property as we were - and we received so many compliments throughout the wedding weekend regarding Beaufort and the Agapae Oaks property!
I am selfishly glad I came across this space before I worked a wedding there - but I hope to bring many clients to this special place in the near future!! Wishing we could do it all over again!!!

I wish I could give Agapae Oaks and its staff 100 stars. First, the venue is absolutely gorgeous! And so affordable, especially for the ENTIRE weekend! We spent all day Friday unpacking/organizing/setting things up, and it made Saturday such a breeze and allowed us to relax and truly be able to enjoy the day. We were also able to have our rehearsal dinner on the property at no additional cost! Second, Amy (the owner) and Troy (the property manager) literally went above and beyond to meet every request and make every accommodation. Troy was on site the entire weekend and checked in multiple times to see if we needed anything/if everything was to our liking. He has been there many years and has a lot of knowledge about the venue, and he gave us a ton of insight on how things should be set up to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible. Amy & Troy were truly the kindest and easiest people to work with!! Third, I highly recommend renting both houses on the property. We arrived on Thursday and did not leave until Sunday! The houses had plenty of room to accommodate our entire bridal party, plus extras, which kept them from having to book hotel rooms and travel back and forth. It also relieved a lot of stress by having everyone already there the morning of the wedding and it gave us two separate locations for us to all get ready. Overall, this venue and its staff exceeded every expectation I had and allowed me to have the Lowcountry wedding of my dreams. I can not recommend them enough!!!

We're from Texas so planning a wedding long distance is tough but using this venue made it a breeze.
I HIGHLY recommend you use this as your venue. Plus my pictures turned out gorgeous and all the guests commented on how gorgeous it was.

My husband and I absolutely loved this venue for our wedding. It was beautiful- the house, the grounds, everything! Amy Poggi gave us a tour on the spot when we first came out to view the grounds. Troy was our main point of contact as Amy currently lives out of state; he was super helpful and friendly! Although Amy is out of state, any questions I had I emailed to her and she was very quick with her responses!
It was easy to work with both of them and we could not have been happier with the place. P.S. if you’re planning on a Spring wedding, I highly recommend booking this venue in late April/early May because the fields had just bloomed with beautiful wildflowers. Between that and the water, it was quite the view!

This place is absolutely gorgeous! The grounds are very large so you have many options on where to hold the ceremony and other events. Considering how many days you are granted access to the grounds, the prices are beyond reasonable and we loved how there are multiple houses to rent on site for out of town guests.
This place contributed to a perfect wedding and a wonderful time for all of us. We highly recommend!

The most beautiful setting the Low Country has to offer! My daughters dream wedding was easily realized thanks to Agapae Oaks and their staff. Agapae Oaks made all of mine and my husbands dreams come true for our special day. The scenery was like a fairy tale, we had no rain and there was a decent breeze that stayed around all day. We had enough room for all of our bridal party and our immediate family to stay comfortably for the weekend which saved us so much money! The thing we loved most is that we were treated like family from the property manager and the owner which made planning for our special day so easy and enjoyable. If you want a low country wedding with stress free vibes then I would highly recommend booking this venue!

We started planning our wedding back in January before the vaccine so we were looking for an outdoor venue in Beaufort. We found Agape and I’m so glad we did. Amy- the manager is easy to work with. She is timely, professional and understanding. The venue is beautiful and really represents Beaufort with the old home and water. The price is very reasonable as well.

This property was perfect for my daughter's wedding! The owner and property manager were wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue. Upon arriving we heard lots of Ooos and Ahhs. The property is perfect for preparing for the wedding, also. The cottage was perfect for the groomsmen to stay overnight and the main house was ideal for the girls getting ready, and the planner to stage and organize for the event. So much history and so many options for ceremony and reception. It was certainly the most quintessential place for a Lowcountry wedding.

Agapae Oaks was a dream come true for our wedding. We were looking to have our ceremony + reception both outdoors, with the both being near the water! After some online research, I found this beautiful place! Troy, their onsite manager, he was great with giving us a tour of the venue and just sold it more for us! We were so thankful for everything at Agapae Oaks- from the initial look we knew it was perfect! I would recommend this venue to all who are interesting in being married by the water without the huge price tag!

One thing - I strongly encourage doing a “Bug Bomb” where your reception will be. The bugs can be killer anywhere outside in the LowCountry.

Amy and her husband Biff have 5 grown kids, along with grandkids and very close almost-kids and have hosted 3 weddings of their own, while also sharing the property as a venue for extended relatives and friends. Amy is passionate about the lowcountry, family, faith, community service, and football (husband Biff is a coach and 3 sons played in college). Amy absolutely loves working with families as they prepare for the joyous celebration of a wedding in the most beautiful, and beloved, setting imaginable.

He gives most of our tours for prospective couples; he has been on-site for well over 100 weddings at our venue; and he can fix or figure out just about anything. He also does beautiful woodwork (check out his handmade benches/pews!) and being "the best friend you wish you had" (according to a reviewer). Troy will be the one on-site for your wedding weekend, filled with joyful helpfulness and good humor. In his free time, he loves to go fishing, hunting, make stuff, share a good laugh, and fix things for anyone who needs his help.
