Agapé Airbrush Makeup + Hair

My hair looked great and held in place well the entire day. I did a bridal trial before the wedding day which was a big help. Amanda, the owner, was great to work with and she brought another stylist which made getting ready fast (we had an afternoon wedding). The prices were comparable to other stylists in the area (flower girl prices were a little high, especially if your flower girl is young). I would definitely recommend them for wedding and bridesmaid hair!

We had a large group (10+ of us). I'll start by saying that Amanda and her colleague did do a fine job with the makeup for the bridesmaids. However, from the bride's perspective it was incredibly, incredibly stressful. We had a separate hair stylist that day who was running behind - meaning Amanda came to find me an hour after my "time slot" clearly annoyed and frustrated with me. As a bride, there are 101 things going on at once so I had no idea we were so far of the timeline but I apologized and the hair stylist said I'd be ready in 10 minutes. (At this point, the vendors shouldn't have brought me into it - at a minimum, start with the wedding coordinator who can help navigate the situation instead of bringing the bride into it). When I went to find Amanda, she wasn't there but her colleague instantly started guilting me by saying they had plans that day that had to be pushed off and friends in town and they had to extend their child care (on one hand, I get it - and I immediately offered to pay for their additional time, but on the other hand it's a wedding with a large group so there should be wiggle room built in). Even after offering to pay for any additional time, I thought things would smooth over but it was legitimately the most tense 20 minutes of the day while I was sitting in the chair. She was visibly annoyed with me, rushed through the work, and it was all that I could do to not jump out of the chair as soon as she was done. I should clarify that I looked back at the suggested timeframe (vendors end at 1:30pm) and they ended up wrapping up by 2pm - so we're talking about 30 minutes of overage. I handed her a check with the additional amount for both of them for an hour (more than they stayed) + more than 20% tip and she all but rolled her eyes as she packed up. It was awful, and was the moment right before I got into my dress to head towards our first look. The wedding itself was absolutely beautiful and the rest of the evening was flawless, but this experience certainly put a damper on that part of the day and I'm so sincerely disappointed with how it played out. I understand things come up and timing schedules get adjusted, but I can't stress enough how extremely important it is to communicate with the coordinator and work out a solution before going to the bride. It's already an emotional day and any way to mitigate stressors is vital.

Amanda was referred to me through multiple sources, and after working with her, I can absolutely see why she was so highly recommended by other vendors I met. The day of the wedding Amanda and her team arrived on time and finished ahead of schedule! The way Amanda and her Agape team did hair and makeup was as if they had an intuitive sense for our personalities and style, and all of my ladies looked like the best versions of themselves. I absolutely loved the fact that Amanda and her team were extremely professional, and were also capable to serve a large wedding party with ease! I could not have asked for a better experience. We also had so much FUN!

Amanda is not only an amazing makeup and hair artist, but she is so sweet and easy to talk to! During my trial, I was greeted with a hug and glass of champagne. She really listened to me and the style I was looking for. We tried a couple different hair styles to find one that I loved. She even made a special hair net piece to make it look like I had a lot more hair than I do for my chignon bun. Fast forward to wedding day, she made me feel and look more beautiful than I could have imagined! She traveled to my getting ready location, and brought a makeup assistant to do my bridesmaids' makeup. They all loved their makeup. Amanda did my hair and makeup, and everyone's hair. My hair and makeup was exactly what I wanted! The airbrush was perfect for a sunny and 95 degree day (I had an outdoor ceremony). The airbrush makeup didn't run, and it gave me a natural, flawless look. She enhanced my eyes and made them pop. I wish I could have Amanda do my air and makeup every day!!

Amanda was amazing! Not only is she an incredible makeup artist and hair stylist, she's fun to work with! I usually do not wear much makeup at all, and was worried about looking unnatural and too made up. Amanda helped me to look my very best on my wedding day, while keeping it natural. I still looked like me, only way better! :) My mom and sister looked amazing as well. We all loved what she did for us and had a blast working with her. I highly recommend Amanda for any of your hair/makeup needs!

Amanda is a true representation of what all your vendors should be like on your wedding day! She pays incredible attention to details and confirmed all of my requests in advance. She is very thorough and attentive and made sure that she knew the look I wanted for my special day down to my luxurious lashes. I wish I could wear those every day, but then I would need Amanda every morning to stop by and put them on. I am so happy that she was a part of my day. I cannot thank her enough. B. Smith

My wedding planner recommended Agape to me and I am so happy I went with her. I had excellent service with Agape and her team. Even my bridesmaids commented on how sweet and nice each of the team members were. On the day of my wedding I turned to notice one of her team members was sweet enough to put a little blush on my flower girls faces just to make them feel special as well. Please note I am African-American and I had my doubts on whether or not she can do my type of hair. She will tell you she has someone on her team who can. My hair and makeup was exactly what I was looking for. I used clip in extensions and my hair and makeup was flawless. I even used her to do my hair and makeup for my engagement pictures. I will most definitely also use her services for any other special events I need to go to! If you still doubt my advice-book her for a bridal trial and check her out for yourself. She handles your hair with care (no tugging, pulling, and breaking of hair) and before applying the makeup she preps your face and it feels like an express facial. Amanda is a true professional who is in love with beauty. I didn't know I could look that good! Amanda did airbrush make-up and an updo for my sister's wedding, I was the maid of honor. I am usually timid about wearing a lot of make-up, I am more of the natural type. But I was surprised. My skin looked absolutely beautiful but I wasn't self-conscious that I had a face full of make-up. It looked flawless but not overdone - the perfect combination. And the way she did contouring with the make-up made my cheek bones really pop! I especially loved the fake eyelashes she did, they were the perfect finishing touch. The updo she did on my hair was amazing. It was an upside down french braid with a bun on the top. It was adorable. She even put a little bow underneath the bun, where the braid met the bun - so cute. Amanda is full of amazing ideas for hair. Anything you could possibly dream up, she can do. I would recommend Amanda to anyone and everyone - and I will definitely use her services again, maybe even just for a special night out!
