Agnes Devereux Catering

Agnes is an amazing cook and crafted the most delicious wedding menu for our 115 guests. I don't understand how you make individual plates of duck, salmon (plus a vegan and gf option) for that many guests, but they all came out perfectly. The initial tasting was one of our favorite parts of wedding planning! She offered many main and service-style options. Agnes was great to work with--highly communicative and well-versed in the travels and travails of catering. She provided her own (great) staff and we/the venue provided the kitchen and some waiter items, though Agnes helped us find rentals.

Agnes used to own the Village Tea Room in New Paltz, so I was familiar with her food. We contacted her for a tasting, and we were one and done. Didn't need to look anywhere else. The hardest part was deciding which entrees to include since they all looked so good! We chose her Sour Cherry Beef Brisket and the Apple Cider Pork Shoulder. Everyone raved over it. Our two sides were the mashed potatoes and the English Peas...I had people tell me how much they hated peas, but they ate all of hers! The charcuterie spread for the cocktail hour was so good, the bride was lucky to get a single bite thanks to her sister. The best thing was everything was sourced locally so we could show off our lovely area to our guests who had come from out of state. Agnes is also famous for her Bee Cake, but she does others wonderfully as well. We went with 3 small cakes: The Bee Cake, a lemon curd cake and Japanese style Strawberry Short Cake (bride's request which was spot-on). Service was excellent. Everyone was so kind. I'd give 10 stars if possible.

We have nothing short of complete gratitude and admiration for Agnes. It took us a long time to find the right caterer for our Catskills wedding, and we knew right away from our first email exchange with Agnes that we wanted to work with her. Agnes is a true culinary artist — her stunning bee cakes are a prime example — and every single dish we tasted was delicious and beautifully presented. We've gotten countless compliments on the food from guests after the wedding, variations of "the best food that I ever have had at such an event." She was also very accommodating of one-off guest dietary restrictions and instrumental in coordinating rentals. We had complete confidence and trust in Agnes and feel so lucky that her team was part of our day.

Perfection!!! Everyone is still talking about how absolutely delicious the food was. From the appetizers to desserts, so yummy! Agnes helped us coordinate all of our rentals as well which was such a help, she made sure we didn't forget anything! Her staff also really helped us with set up and clean up. I can't recommend her highly enough!!!!
