AH Specialties is a wedding hair and makeup service based in Tomball, TX. Owner Allison Hughes and her team of artists believe that looking and feeling your best is about bringing out the best in you. You are already beautiful, and they would love to help you shine. Whether you are looking for that perfect textured look or airbrush makeup to enhance your natural features, they want you to feel confident. It’s your wedding day, and Allison and her team hope it will be filled with joy.
Allison’s business has its foundations in her commitment to serve the community. She discovered her passion for hair and makeup while volunteering in her church’s student ministry, and Allison determined to turn that passion into a career. She spent the next few years working under the tutelage of professional hair and makeup artists in the Houston area. She honed her skills and developed a style of her own, and in 2014 Allison founded AH Specialties.
AH Specialties offers a wide range of on-location hair and makeup solutions, from airbrushing and styling to spray tanning and tattoo cover up. Packages are also available for family members and members of the wedding party. Allison and her team are available to travel, but travel fees will apply.

AH Specialties was started by Allison Hughes in 2014. She discovered she had a passion for hair design and makeup in 2007, when providing this service to high school girls while volunteering in the student ministry at her church. In 2011, she decided to make her new passion a career and started working for a local hair and makeup company in the Houston area. She used this time working with these professional hair and makeup artists to develop her skills and come into her own as a professional stylist. In 2014, Allison launched AH Specialties and has expanded throughout the Houston area.

hey arrived right on time, stayed on schedule, and made sure every detail was flawless. They did hair and makeup for myself, my mom, my mother-in-law, and my two bridesmaids, and everyone looked stunning! Each look suited the person’s requests and lasted beautifully all day and night.
Beyond their talent, they were just such a joy to have around, and were kind, patient, and genuinely invested in making everyone feel confident and beautiful. I can’t recommend AH Specialties enough to any bride looking for a talented, professional, and kind hair & makeup team. They helped make our day even more special!

feared having too much makeup applied where my face and neck weren't the same color or eyelashes so long and unnatural. I spent months trying to find the perfect makeup person and finally came across AH Specialties. Allison was very sweet and very helpful. We booked with her two weeks before the wedding!! I went to do my makeup trial and she listened to everything I wanted (or thought I wanted). She had suggestions but I told her I wanted things MY WAY and I ended up not loving the colors I picked for my eye shadow. Allison offered me a second trial, that time I trusted her and let her do her magic. Every color she picked was perfect and it looked great for the wedding. My bridesmaids also had their makeup done and all three of them looked absolutely beautiful. Their makeup wasn't too heavy or caked on; just enough to brighten their own beauty. I also can't begin to tell you how patient Allison and her team were on our wedding day. I kept being pulled from the bridal suite for this and that, leaving them waiting on me to return. They were very understanding and great to work with. They also did all of our hair, which I got lots of compliments on all night! I highly recommend AH Specialties!

On the wedding day, the team arrived early and had us running ahead of schedule. They completed six makeup services and nine hairstyles flawlessly. I even decided to change my hairstyle the morning of the wedding, and Allison didn’t hesitate for a second — she graciously accommodated my request and made it look perfect.
I couldn’t have asked for a better glam team to make us all feel beautiful and confident!

eup done. Unfortunately the makeup application was very heavy and dated. I showed her a very detailed video on the type of application I was looking for and she said she did not have the tools available to achieve that look. In retrospect, I should have just walked away at that point. Though I was not happy when I left, I had to get to a hair appointment so there was no time to fix anything. Within 2 hours my pores were blowing up because they were absolutely suffocated. The blush and bronzer placement was very 2012-2015. In the sneak peek photos from the photographer I look like I'm wearing a mask. We may have to scrap the entire shoot which means I will not be able to do the photo guestbook I was planning on.

She was open to my feedback if I wanted to change anything too (but she nailed it the first time and nothing needed to be changed). All of my bridesmaids plus my mom, mother-in-law, and the two grandmothers there also had their makeup and hair done by the team that came to my venue, and they all absolutely loved their looks. sure I was able to get my hair and makeup done. They went above and beyond their services and not only did my hair and makeup as the bride, but they also did hair and makeup on my MIL, my mother, and grandmother. These ladies are SO wonderful and they will be my ONLY recommendation for hair and makeup for anything :) I wasn't able to get the normal bridal hair and makeup trial and yet they still knocked it out of the park!

om both my mom and I had. I had Victoria as my head makeup artist and hair stylist and she was amazing. She listened to everything I wanted and understood exactly what I wanted. I had 9 bridesmaids and every single one of them loved their hair and makeup! I was so grateful! My mom and MIL also loved their hair and makeup.
