Alex was an absolute DREAM to work with, I cannot recommend him enough. When we had our engagement shoot I thought it was going to be uncomfortable being intimate in front of a camera and that there was no way there would be a decent picture. I was so very wrong. Alex made both of feel incredibly comfortable, we were laughing and joking and felt an instant connection. His photos are breathtaking stylistically, but one of the best things is that he isn't all about the posing, Alex captures candid moments that you didn't know you wanted but are so happy you have. In addition, his turn around time on the photos is superb. Finally, another fantastic thing about this photographer is that he truly loves what he is doing and it shows in every aspect of his photos and demeanor. Alex from AJL stands out from all other wedding photographers I’ve ever met and I’m so glad we went with him for ours. I’ve filmed and attended several weddings and the one thing I can say about photographers is they are very obtrusive. They stand in the same spot take a billion photos and make sure no one else including the videographer can see anything. Alex is a pro he gets his shot and pivots elsewhere for the next one meaning he is never obstructing much for very long. It can be hard to pick a photographer by looking at portfolios alone. Have a conversation with Alex and I guarantee your mind will be at ease at least when it comes to photography.

Alex was the perfect addition to our wedding day! As you can imagine, a lot of planning went into our special day but we were hoping to keep the event fairly low-key. The portfolio at AJL Studio was impressive, but then again, all professional photographers are, right? After having some discussions with Alex I was convinced he was the right guy for the job. I wanted simple, natural shots without being intrusive to us or our guests and that's just what we got. Alex was also extremely personable and got along really well with everyone, which meant our photos captured true joy. Hire him!

My husband and I did a lot of research trying to find the right photographer for us - when we met Alex, we knew it would be a seamless experience. Alex provided a lot of ‘packages’ to choose from and worked with what our aesthetic for the wedding was going to be. Since we got engaged and then married in 6 months, we did not want to do engagement photos, so Alex provided us tons of alternatives! He ended up shooting our rehearsal dinner, which is such an incredible memory for us. Alex went above and beyond by having calls and meetings with us before the wedding and even went on a scouting shoot to both venues - so I was very confident in his vision for the day. On the day of the wedding Alex brought a second shooter named Gilbert, who was also phenomenal. It was like we were all long lost friends! Alex was everywhere during the wedding and got some shots where I look back and think, how did he get all these incredible photos! Alex works his a** off at your wedding and has fun doing it - such a great attitude. Alex is the type of photographer to really understand your vision for the wedding and be supportive of it to the fullest. Let's get this out of the way first: Alex & ALJ Studios are fantastic. He was everywhere during the wedding weekend, yet he was so unobtrusive we didn't even realize he was there. But man - the results! Such amazing, NATURAL photos. Alex has the type of personality that can blend / enhance with any group of people - even possibly stressed out brides. And as the father of the bride, I know we got a massive bang for our buck. Alex captured so many incredible moments of the weekend and I wish he was following me around all the time, because he made me look younger and better than I have in years. Alex is the man!!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Alex and his photography! He will shoot the most amazing photos of your most important day. I told Alex my favorite photo's are the candid ones and Alex knew exactly how to capture those during my wedding. Alex is super professional, easy to work with, and is also very funny. My whole family mentioned how great he was during the wedding. He never got in the way or was pushy about taking photos of everyone. I recently had a baby and I hit Alex up to let him know that he will also be shooting some family photo's of us very soon! We cannot say enough great things about AJL Studio and our wonderful experience with Alex on our wedding day. Choosing Alex as our wedding photographer was one of the best decision we made. He made the whole process enjoyable, natural, and most of all fun, even my family members were raving about his energy and his ability to make everyone laugh. Upon our initial meeting we discussed the key elements that we felt were important to us in our wedding photos and how we envisioned the day panning out. We really wanted to have photographs capturing the 'real' moments and emotions of the day and not just the standard 'posed' pictures. Alex was so attentive to our wishes and was able to capture every special moment that we were hoping for in the most beautiful way. The photographs surpassed our expectations and it is so wonderful to look back at them and feel like we can relive the day and all the emotions and joy that went along with it. We also got so many compliments from guest about Alex's wonderfully energetic personality and ability to make everyone laugh and feel at ease around him. He was so easy to communicate with, if we had and questions or concerns, we had no issue reaching him. We have the most authentic, unique, and fun wedding photos and we couldn't be happier.

Working with Alex to plan and shoot my wedding was an absolute joy. He was incredibly communicative and very helpful with the planning process - we relied on him to help determine the start time of our ceremony (for best lighting) and overall timing of the day. He worked with us to determine if we should do our first look prior to the ceremony or down the aisle. We ultimately chose to do it before so we could enjoy the cocktail hours with our family and friends. Planning the wedding and working with Alex was stress-free but inevitably my husband and I were both pretty anxious the day of the big event. To say Alex helped calm our nerves is a complete understatement. He made us feel SO comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. He helped stage us when we needed to set up a shot but then captured candid natural moments as they were happening. Him and his team were so professional and captured every moment perfectly while blending into the overall day. I could not recommend Alex and his team enough. Planning weddings can be annoying but do yourself a favor and hire Alex and make your life easier.

Planning a wedding is not easy - especially when the bride is in NYC and Mom is in South Florida. It’s critical to make the best use of your time when making important decisions - like choosing a photographer to capture one of the most important events in a lifetime. We met Alex for drinks one night in the city and we just knew he was the right choice. His demeanor, his plan, his preparation, and his price were absolutely perfect. And most important ..... he kept the bride and groom relaxed and comfortable for the entire day. He was with us from 9:00 am to capture all of the pre-wedding chaos and through the entire ceremony and reception. The pictures are amazing!! Don’t know how we will choose for the final album. We could not have asked a better photographer and now a special friend.
