The National Western Stock Show is one of those rare events that truly delivers on its promise of authenticity. This isn’t just a show…it’s a hands on experience that connects people directly to agriculture, ranching, and the backbone of the Am...
erican West. From the moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by generations of tradition, hard work, and pride.
The variety of vendors alone is worth the visit. You’ll find everything from western wear and handcrafted goods to farm tools, local foods, and unique specialty items you won’t see anywhere else. The vendors aren’t just selling products, they’re sharing knowledge, stories, and a way of life. It feels personal, not commercial, and that makes all the difference.
What really sets the Stock Show apart, especially for families, are the petting zoos and interactive animal areas. These exhibits give people, especially kids a rare opportunity to get up close with farm animals many have only ever seen in books or on screens. Cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and other livestock aren’t just on display…they’re part of an educational experience. Staff and handlers take the time to explain how the animals are raised, cared for, and why agriculture still matters today.
There’s something grounding about watching a child feed a goat for the first time or seeing adults light up as they reconnect with a world that feels increasingly distant from modern life. The National Western Stock Show bridges that gap beautifully. It honors the past while educating the next generation, creating an experience that’s equal parts fun, informative, and meaningful.
This is a Colorado institution for a reason. Whether you come for the livestock, the vendors, the rodeo events, or simply to soak in the atmosphere, the National Western Stock Show leaves you with a deeper appreciation for rural life and the people who keep it alive.

The best in the country! So many exhibits and things to do for all ages. They have an exceptional child area with pony rides and an awesome petting zoo. Lots of vendors and an extensive array of food vendors. Some of the best BBQ by far. P...
arking isn't easy but they do a great job getting patrons around with their shuttle system. Plan to spend a good portion of the day there and ne sure to see some of the competitions. Livestock is also interesting and the cow grooming that the competitors do is impressive.

A classic family friendly or great date experience. It's more fun when you go all in, dress the part! Check out the rodeo or a show if you can afford it, purchase includes grounds entry. It's also fun to just walk around. Don't miss the stock y...
ard, seeing all the animals and smelling them is worth it. I learned some line dancing with my 11 yr old daughter last year--we had a blast!

We go every year, we have a great family time and there is something some everyone. I recommend to check out their event calendar and buy the tickets ahead. Not only it allows you to prepare and plan your visit but it saves you time that you ca...
n spend walking around and checking out vendors. The prices are high and a lot of vendors have the same things but some other stuff you can only find there.

The rodeo was great!! One of the better ones I've attended. The vendor show was underwhelming. Way too many non-farm/Western/stock type businesses and not enough (almost none really) local businesses. If you want to look at $100,000 electric pi...
ckups or $10,000 leather couches, or buy a pair of Dude shoes your in luck. Want to sample local food or beverages? Want to shop for tack? You're out of luck. The event is obviously more focused on making money than anything else ($16 beers and $24 cocktails) -- sure, you can find animal events .. but that's not where it feels like the focus is. It was pretty well organized. Parking and buses were easy. We had fun, but we're somewhat disappointed in not seeing more local goods and having more easy access to animals.
