one smoother. We have been long-time fans of the location, and we are so pleased with how everything, from the decor to the seating, turned out. Our photos in the gallery, on the grounds, and around the museum are all gorgeous. The weather permitted our band to be outside along with a bar, which greatly improved the flow and eliminated any congestion. The staff was superb in their professionalism, timely communication, and amended any last minute requests when I missed a few details (there are a lot!). Thank you so much to Becca, Christina, and all the staff that made this event such a wonderful experience. We will truly remember it for a lifetime, and are already reminded by our guests how much fun the experience was!

hings around and everyone we worked with was incredibly gracious and lovely. They're also pretty flexible and will definitely work with you to execute your vision as far as bringing in outside decor. Event manager Becca is very responsive and super easy to work with! She stays on top of everything and will make sure you're having a great time, too. It's a gorgeous space.

venue after venue online and scheduled appointments with 3, one of those being the Akron Art Museum. We instantly fell in love with the idea of being married there and didn't have to look any further. We could tell we'd get along just swimmingly with Sarah from our first meeting. She understood that we (and our guests) were going to be there for a celebration and to enjoy ourselves, while also making sure we knew the rules of the museum. Sarah worked seamlessly with our catering manager, DJs, and all of our vendors, as she helped us finalize the timeline we'd drafted with our DJs and sketched out a floorplan with us. She also went over the outdoor ceremony choices, as well as devised a foolproof rain plan. She was very present during the rehearsal, making sure everyone knew where to go and even provided us all with waters (it was a hot September day). We were also excited to learn we could choose the beer for the reception; they provided a list and we were able to choose 3- we set up a tasting with family! On the big day, myself and the moms and bridesmaids were in the auditorium getting ready, and she would keep checking in with us while monitoring and helping get everything set up. Before heading down the aisle, she gave my train one last fluff and helped to tame my wild veil (it was windy out). I wasn't made aware of any issues the day-of, but my mom told me much later that there were a few snags in the smoothness of the day and she was overwhelmed by how quickly & flawlessly Sarah was on it to get everything back on track. We can't thank her enough for her professionalism & overall wedding knowledge... plus just being a fun person to have around on your wedding day! The Akron Art Museum as a whole was a dream venue for us, and we received many compliments on what a beautiful and unique setting it was for our wedding. Guests loved that they could explore the art galleries during the cocktail hour, and that there were two full bars, one outside under the terrace. Big shoutout also to all of their staff & security... they were all top notch!

It was totally worth the wait! I would make all of the same choices if we had to plan the event all over again!

weeks have passed, we both agreed that our ceremony was our favorite part of the whole day. First off, the wedding coordinators at the Akron Art Museum were the most genuine, accommodating, kind, and awesome people. Katie and Sarah are amazing! They went out of their way to help us through the planning process, as well as to make sure we were 100% satisfied with our day. They were so helpful and also helped us to stay organized. Our ceremony was held in the green space outside and it was so gorgeous! It allowed for a unique, unforgettable entrance that all of our guests loved. Another huge plus for having your ceremony or wedding at the museum is the wonderful photo opportunities. The inside and outside of the museum both have great locations for photos. The architecture is beautiful and dramatic- we just loved it! As an added bonus, we felt as though the price for renting the museum for our ceremony was very reasonable. I would recommend the Akron Art Museum to anyone planning their wedding in the Akron area. The Akron Art Museum will always hold a special place in my heart, and I can never thank our wedding coordinators enough for all that they did for us.

to COVID. Katie and her team were flexible and accommodating throughout the planning process and handled every challenge thrown at them with grace and an open mindset. We were always provided honest answers and were always given numerous options and different strategies to adapt our wedding reception to meet any restrictions or health guidelines, while still meeting our expectations and fitting with the vision and atmosphere we wanted to provide our guests. We have received endless compliments from all of our wedding guests and friends on how beautiful the space was - from the architecture and the decor, to the content of the art galleries, to the floor-plan layout at the Art Museum. This was made possible by our incredible vendors and the thoughtfulness of Katie at the Art Museum. She took the time to get to know us as a couple, listened to exactly what we wanted, and helped us achieve our plans with incredible attention to detail and a creative mindset. I cannot recommend Akron Art Museum enough.

in helping my (now) wife, myself, and our guest celebrate our wedding. Like many other couples over this past year or so, my wife and I had to reschedule our wedding due to covid regulations, even though we were only two weeks out. Throughout the whole process of choosing vendors, table layout, first look location, managing vendors, table setup, rescheduling and many other things I am definitely forgetting, Katie and Sarah were always there to help. They were there from start to finish. The best way I could describe it is it felt like they were super reliable friends that help coordinate your big day. Second, it’s a great museum with great pieces of art inside a really cool building and all our guest loved looking at it during the cocktail hour. Actually had a bit of a hard time narrowing down which piece of art to have a first look in front of. The only thing I would recommend (which we did) is that you inquire about what pieces of art are permanent and what ones aren’t. Also ask what temporary pieces will be on display at the time of your event. Although I will say this isn’t an issue at all as they have so many amazing pieces.

Our biggest compliment came from the fact that people could walk around the galleries during cocktail hour! It was a truly amazing day and Colleen and the Akron Art Museum team made it that way!

I booked the AAM roughly a year and a half before my April 2019 wedding, and Colleen promptly answered all of my emails, phone calls, and meeting requests throughout that time. She walked me through all of the wedding prep I was unfamiliar with (which - surprise - was all of it) and was honest about the process, how to choose other vendors, and what she thought would and wouldn't work the day of the wedding. Her experience and expertise really shows, and it was so incredibly helpful to have her to run to when I needed guidance. The day of the wedding was absolutely seamless, and Colleen and Winnie handled everything behind the scenes with perfection. When I needed a last minute seating change (literally during cocktail hour, so *very* last minute), Winnie immediately told me not to worry about it and handled it with ease. Not only did I receive tons of compliments about how beautiful the venue was, but many guests were impressed with how friendly the staff at the Art Museum was as well. All in all, the Art Museum was worth every penny, and if I had to do it all again, I wouldn't go anywhere else. If you're considering the Akron Art Museum for your wedding, I can't recommend them enough!

ere, scenery and overall experience. Colleen and Winnie at the AAM are truly wonderful! We had a clear vision for our day and Colleen helped turn our vision into reality. We choose to have a Friday ceremony and despite our rehearsal being held on a Thursday (the museum's free entrance day) both the rehearsal & the wedding day went off without a hitch! Colleen & Winnie coordinated with our vendors throughout the process, helped us make decisions about event flow/timing, and helped us choose the greatest location for our first look & gallery portraits. The open bar was great with really solid choices for beer and liquor at a reasonable price. I literally had zero worries when it came to the big day, and hardly ha to lift a finger due to their thoroughness. I could not have asked for a better day and have the AAM, Colleen, Winnie, and the whole team to thank for our impeccable experience.

Colleen was great throughout -- answering our questions, helping to deal with the vendors and just generally being awesome to work with. Plus, the day of the rehearsal and the day of the wedding, Colleen and Winnie were there and really on the ball with everything. I highly recommend having your wedding there! You will be left with the best memories.

Colleen was fantastic to work with and very accommodating. We had food trucks and the dance floor was outside on the patio (totally unplanned, but made for an unforgettable evening). I can't recommend this venue enough, definitely worth the money.

Colleen, the Senior Events Coordinator, was remarkable throughout the entire year, accommodating all of our special needs to help make our wedding cultural, seamless and elegant. She was so easy to work with and detailed, I am beyond pleased with the level of service and final outcome! You can't go wrong with the Akron Art Museum!! auty speaks for itself. Our night was the best mix of class and fun and I would do it over a million times at AAM if I could! Everything ran smooth and the entire staff was so helpful to make sure it looked perfect before guests started to arrive. Thanks Colleen and staff for making our venue dreams come true!!

the staff at the museum made our wedding absolutely unforgettable. Colleen did everything in her power to bring our wedding dreams to reality. When I walked into the art museum and saw all of my decorations, it was exactly as I had pictured--no doubt thanks to Colleen's attention to detail. The architecture of the museum, the art galleries, and the gardens made for amazing backdrops for our photographs, and I was so happy that we had access to all of the facility for pictures. We can't thank the museum enough for playing such a huge role in making our day absolutely perfect!

rhythm to it. While it may be a bit expensive, it is absolutely beautiful and I received so many compliments about the venue. We had our cocktail hour outside in the Garden and then reception in the Grand Lobby and it was absolutely gorgeous! They accommodated all my decorations and worked so well with my wedding planner, it was absolutely flawless! I don't see why you'd want to have a wedding anywhere else in Akron!

s challenging the event planner (who is no longer is charge) was tough to ever get ahold of and was not flexible with vendors. A new event coordinator started two weeks before my wedding and I felt like I had to start over, which is not her fault but challenging. The reception was very hot and my guests would complain, I asked multiple times for the air to be turned up but they just said it was the highest it could go, but it seems unlikely. Overall, the venue was beautiful. They were very nice and I would have it there again. I'm glad they got a new coordinator.

or the most spectacular wedding. BUT, in my opinion, the museum was really hard to work with and I waited weeks sometimes for a response. The answer default is "no" and I would've appreciated a more customer focused attitude. So, if you are ok with that and value a stunning venue I'd say go for it!

the grand staircase, and the reception right there in the large lobby. Sue Parker, the event coordinator, is a dream to work with. It was worth every penny! The space is extremely versatile, and can transform to fit whatever vision you have. I would highly recommend springing for special event lighting, too, as the space is perfectly suited for it! I am SO happy this was our venue! (There is a rental fee from the museum, and they also handle the fee for the alcohol. Everything else will need to be brought in.)
