Alda's Magnolia Hill

le and their Magnolia Hill was breathtaking for the March 3, 2018 wedding of my son and new daughter in law! Thank you Alda & Buddy you two are just amazing.

r setting with the picturesque lake and woods in the background were amazing. A dove release at the end of the wedding ceremony was an extremely special touch. All of the extras such as the groom rolling up in the classic truck and my daughter and myself trotting up via horse and carriage were spectacular making the bride truly feel like a princess. The reception hall, bar area, fire pit for s’mores etc. were great and added to everything. The supporting areas with providers suggested via Mrs. Alda (making life easier on us) were the talk of all the guests (i.e. everyone raved over the food provided by the caterer “Diner is Ready” and the cake arrangement was beautiful). The send-off/exit in the classic car with fireworks provided a great climactic ending. I can’t say enough great things about Alda’s Magolia Hill and Mrs. Alda and Mr. Buddy Ellis. Thanks for memories we will never forget!

Both the bride and groom live in Texas so planning all the details could have been an issue; but Mrs Alda communicated by email and took the bride's Pinterest photos/ideas and made it happen! She added the personal touches we requested and made the entire wedding process a beautiful memory. We highly recommend Alda's Magnolia Hill and the team of professionals recommended by the venue.

e were going to be able to make it to our wedding. While my husband Ethan, a Houston Police Officer, was helping rescue people (and I was a nervous wreck)...Mrs. Alda and Buddy were praying for us and working diligently to figure out a solution. Luckily, an opening became available on September 30th and Mrs. Alda began working her magic to recreate the day we had planned. When our day finally came, I could not have imagined anything more wonderful! Mrs. Alda and her staff had outdone themselves. On my wedding day I did not worry about a thing because I knew Mrs. Alda was taking care of me. Mrs. Alda treated us like family and to me she is like family now! To all the brides looking for where to say their vows to their sweet husband-to-be, there is no better place! I truly believe God helped my mother-in-law find Alda's Magnolia Hill because He knows what a special lady she is. Mrs. Alda has been such a blessing to me...so please let her be a blessing to you!

e does offer a list recommendations of photographers etc but there is still a lot of planning that has to be done on your own. I did not use most of her suggestions and I don't know that it was greeted warmly. You are required to use her entertainment company and I will say the DJ we used was entertaining and did a great job. Alda does coordinate the day and ensure everything arrives and is in place. She also does the decorations and table flowers etc which makes the day less stressful. Some may like this and some may not. She is detail oriented, however, I felt some of my requests were ignored. The flowers she provided were pretty but did not match my bouquet as well as I would have liked even though I sent her a picture of my bouquet. I also requested live white pumpkins and had to settle for plastics decorations. That is the price of surrendering control of decorations on the day, it is too late for any further modification etc but you don't have to worry about setting up yourself. I feel that as expensive as this venue is requests should be met. Alda is detail oriented but also controlling and with her own agenda. I felt my day was very rushed. She would not allow my photographer in the venue to take detail shots until I arrived and was unfriendly to her(I feel this is due to the fact that I did not use her recommended photographer). I felt I missed out on a lot of photographs I wanted to take due to being rushed. Alda was worried about guests seeing my dress etc, however, I wanted to get the photos I wanted but felt pressured to do what she wanted. I felt the whole day was rushed and I was rushed off of the property at 8:30 (she attempted to push us out at 7:30 but met opposition). I have spoken with several people since my wedding and many agree that the day is very rushed. Something to consider when considering this venue. As I said, overall, it was a beautiful day but you have to be the type of person that can relinquish control of your day if you chose this venue.

terally took care of everything. She captured our daughter's perfect wedding image and made her wedding day dream come true. As parents, we know there are many seasons in life that you go through and Mrs. Alda and Mr. Buddy took care of us and made one of the most special time in our family's life exceptional. I can not say enough about how blessed we feel to have Mrs. Alda and Mr. Buddy share their beautiful home and property for our celebration. They went to great lengths and care to make every thing perfect for this day and did it with great success! Their staff were the sweetest and really took great pride in what they did. They made sure our older guests were taken care of and were transported to the places they needed to be with out us having to find them. We had grandparents, great grandparents and a great great aunt there that stayed at the reception until the beautiful fireworks send off. That alone says a lot about how wonderful of hosts Mrs. Alda and Mr. Buddy were at taking care of our family. We can't thank them enough and they will always be special to us!! If you are looking for someone to capture your special moment, a beautiful venue with special touches to your particular taste and well planned stress free event, I would highly recommend Alda's Magnolia Hill. They get 5 stars from the Calvert family and we wish them nothing continued success!! 😘😘

hey have a tried and true way of running their weddings. If you're clear about your vision and want to personalize, Alda can make it happen. If you prefer her options, it will still turn out great. e sure everything goes right. She even found flowers that were a beautiful match to the ones my florist used for our bouquets. She does all of the decorations and planning of the day itself. It was a fairy tale, perfect wedding and I would recommend Alda's Magnolia Hill to anyone who wants a gorgeous, romantic place to get married. The horse and carriage entrance was so special, and the reception area had so many great details. I knew the place was lovely but it exceeded all of my expectations.

All of our guests came up to my husband and me telling us that the wedding and venue was beautiful. Alda's Magnolia Hill is the place to go, and all mothers out there should know that Alda will take great care in making your daughter's day very special.

. Do NOT let the cost deter you because it is worth every penny and more. My wedding was a month ago and I am still getting so much comments on how beautiful and unique my wedding was. If you have always dreamed of a fairy tale (but not cheesy) wedding in the most beautiful place with all the help you need..You will LOVE Magnolia Hill.
