Alec did a phenomenal job at our wedding. He made capturing our wedding truly about us. He caught all the little details that we look back on so fondly. Thanks so much for the many memories Alec.

We hired Alec to capture our wedding day in February 2021. It was a smaller ceremony (~60 guests) at an AirBnB in McKinney, TX. We were initially attracted to Alec's photography because he does such a good job freezing moments in time and capturing images of all the guests in attendance. We obviously wanted pics of us as the bride and groom, but we hand-selected a small group of people to attend amid a pandemic so they really are the most special people in our lives. Having photos of them is such a treasure. On the day of the wedding, Alec was so kind and jumped right into our day. He befriended the wedding party and helped them feel at ease when he was photographing them. People were like "wow it's like he's part of the day blending in with us so we just be ourselves instead of being nervous about being in front of a camera" and "he's always there but not invading, it's like he's part of us". He let my husband and I be our goofy selves and didn't pose us into anything stiff or uncomfortable and because of that the photos are perfect because they're wholly and completely us. Now that we are seeing the pictures, people have told us "wow it's like we are back there on that day" and "it's exactly like it happened." It really feels like you're back on that day when going through the photos. Which is exactly what wedding photography is all about! I highly recommend hiring Alec to document your day. You will not regret it. We will treasure these images forever and they will always, always take us back to the most special day of our lives. We cannot thank him enough for preserving these precious memories with our favorite people!

Alec has a remarkable talent for capturing real and authentic moments. He was a delight to work with on the day of our wedding and when we got our photos we were blown away at just how many moments he captured that will make us smile for the rest of our lives. I met Alec on the day of my wedding. His presence was immediately a gift, allowing my bride and me to feel relaxed and comfortable. He was able to capture moments between the two of us that I thought only we could see. Alec has given us the possibility of reliving one of the best days of our lives for the rest of our lives!

I've been following Alec's career for years, and when it was my turn to get married, I knew there was no one else who I would want to photograph our big day. Ever since I was in high school I knew I wanted to Alec to capture my wedding day. After capturing my senior portraits back then I knew the quality of his work and how comfortable it was to work with him! Alec was unbelievably kind and flexible as we had to change plans with our wedding due to COVID-19 and still delivered beautiful photos, memories we will keep forever. His ability to capture the emotion of the moment and the true spirit of the party is above anything I’ve seen. Would definitely recommend!

I reached out to Alec asking for photographs that captured sincerity and authenticity. He had a kind and easy presence on the job, which helped so much on a day when emotions run high and performance pressure can take over. I never felt like a camera was in my face, and I was truly allowed to be in the moment without having to pose often. The final results were immaculate. He captured the sweet reality of my wedding and the people there, and his editing supported the image's beauty instead of over taking them. Photos are an investment and Alec is worth it!

Alec did an incredible job for my wedding. We had a pretty tight schedule due to having our ceremony in Plattsburg and our reception downtown but Alec was so flexible in helping us coordinate this all. He was at the salon downtown where I got ready, went to the groom's parents home in Plattsburg, then came to the home that I was getting ready at. He was on time to everything. He came to the 12th street bridge with us, the Ship and then took amazing pictures at the reception. I am absolutely in love with our pictures. Everyone we have showed them to has commented about how much these pictures are "us". I have not been able to stop looking at them, and he sent us hundreds! It is going to be hard to pick which ones we want to hang up! He got pictures of everything. He is a great guy, flexible, and has serious talent. I would recommend him to anyone.

Alec is an incredible photographer and human. My husband and I hired him because we appreciate and value the way he captures moments. He sees the beauty and glory of the story unfolding and captures it in such stunning ways! From the very beginning of looking at photographers, my wife and I knew we wanted Alec. When we began working with him we began to understand why we heard so much about him. We could not recommend Alec highly enough! Almost everything that could have gone wrong at our wedding did-- weather, vendors showing up late or cancelling, and miscommunications with timing. Alec rolled with all of the punches and captured images that showed or joy and happiness regardless of all of the mishaps. He carefully rode the balance of being present for/capturing all of the images we wanted without ever being in our face.

Can't even begin to describe how awesome our photos turned out! We knew Alec was the photographer for us when we saw how artistic and intimate his photos were. Alec was so easy to work with and fit our vibe perfectly. The day of our wedding, Alec was prompt and immediately started taking photos. Throughout the day, he was our eyes, catching moments we didn't even realize happened until we saw the photos! The images he captures aren't just pictures. He somehow captures the emotion of the moment, preserving in an image the feelings of that instant in time. His photos aren't just photos, they're art. Photography was the one thing in my wedding I didn't scrimp on, and I am so glad I went with the best choice, regardless of cost (not that Alec is expensive... his services are actually very fairly priced!). I am a picky person and Alec's photos were beyond even what I was expecting. You will absolutely not regret booking Alec for your wedding!

Alec did a phenomenal job shooting our wedding. The level of his craft and the quality of his company on your wedding day will go unmatched. He brings so much humor and understanding towards a very important day that you will remember for the rest of your life! I wouldn't have trusted anybody other than Alec.

Alec was great to work with for our wedding! We could tell by looking at his work that his style of photography was exactly what we wanted at our wedding. Communication was wonderful from the beginning - he always responded to our questions or concerns quickly and it was easy to set up meetings with him. On the day of, Alec could not have been better. Even though he took a separate car from the bridal party, he always arrived at the next locations before we did, and was set up and ready to go when we got there. He took some posed photos that we asked for throughout the night, but he also took so many candid photos of everyone there. I truly think he got a good photo of almost every guest! He also pulled my husband and I aside just before it was time for him to go and made sure to get a few last shots of us. The pictures turned out just as beautifully as we had hoped, and we really will treasure them forever. No one would regret booking Alec!

I was blown away by the experience we had with Alec, he was tremendous in every way possible! Not only were our pictures some of the most beautiful and professional quality photos i've seen, but it was a blast to have Alec around. He has an ability to find the perfect moment and emotions to capture what was happening on the wedding day. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is interested in a top tear photographer.

Alec went above and beyond to capture the touching moments that made our wedding day magical. He was a calming presence throughout the whole process and really took the time to get to know us and our guests. He has a strong artistic voice and his enthusiasm is infectious. We could not be more pleased with how the final images turned out and are so thankful we chose to work with him!

Alec outdid himself capturing our wedding day. Alec has such an eye for noticing the special details that happen in the little moments throughout the day. My maid of honor was worried she was fluffing my dress and fixing my train too often during the ceremony and Alec's response was that it was in those moments she was serving me, and it's those moments that are worth capturing and treasuring, forever. If there was one word I could use to describe what Alec was able to capture through his camera lens that day would be joy. He blended in and became one of our crew that day and it shows in the work he produced. You won't be disappointed if you choose to work with Alec!

Alec was incredible to work with on our wedding day. He was relaxed and easy going, while still having a vision for the shots he needed to get. He asked insightful questions to get genuine reactions from us, and all of the guests left feeling like he was a friend. We're so glad Alec was our photographer!

Alec is truly amazing! He's so personable and easy to work with and the quality of his work is unreal! During our portrait shoots, Alec had us all telling old stories and laughing together. During the ceremony and reception I barely had any idea where he was, but he was obviously near by taking incredible photos! Everyone we've talked to about our photos was absolutely floored! We couldn't have asked for a better photographer.

We loved working with Alec for our wedding. He was super responsive and friendly leading up to the big day, and even met with us beforehand to get to know us and answer questions. On the day of he was on time in the morning and stayed with us until the very end of the night. I was pretty nervous at the beginning of the day and he was great about putting my mind at ease! He was friendly with our guests; everyone loved chatting with him and he was able to get so many amazing shots of our friends and family, truly capturing their personalities. So many of the photos make me smile or laugh thinking of that moment in time. The photos of my husband and I are stunning, he made us look like models! He really did such an amazing job of capturing the joy of the day. And we will get to turn to these photos as the years go by and relive it. The whole experience was worth every penny!

It's hard to describe the high level of quality images that Alec captures. I was star struck when we received our engagement photos, and later on our wedding photos. The pictures were incredible snippets of our wedding day- myself, my husband, our friends and family, the scenery were all portrayed beautifully in his work. Alec's personality and demeanor are ideal to work with- especially for a wedding. He is calm and laid back, and at the same time responsible and professional. My husband, as well as a lot of my family members, like to keep their visible emotions to a minimum. I was worried that wedding pictures would look stiff and uncomfortable. That wasn't the case with Alec, however. His disarming and encouraging presence enabled my loved ones to come out of their shell and look naturally happy in pictures! Our wedding album shows so many genuine emotions in lots of people who are normally reserved. If you are looking for a photographer that will really tell a story through his work and can capture the feeling of love at your wedding, Alec is absolutely the person. Wedding pictures are so important for your lifetime, and you can totally trust Alec to deliver. You will not regret it for a second!

Our family still talks about Alec. He had told us he likes to capture the weddding as if he was a friend, and over the course of a few days during our wedding celebration, he truly became family. While Alec put us at ease, he also took beautiful photos that we will treasure forever. We can’t thank and recommend him enough!

We loved having Alec at our wedding. He felt like part of the family, hanging out with everyone in the calm moments and the crazy... he is kind and honest! And absolutely knows how to take the simplest space and turn it into magic!! The photos of our wedding invite you into a story of the best day of our lives! He captured all of the true emotions of the day, the love between our family and friends, as well as the moments my husband and I didn't get to experience. The wedding party photos were incredible, of course! What we loved most was the authenticity of the day portrayed through the photos. My words can't even begin to express the quality of Alec Vanderboom's photography and service. Alec is absolutely delightful to work with, he brings joy to the room and naturally interacts with those around him. His photos are breathtakingly beautiful- each image is like a perfect piece of art. His candid pictures capture the intimacy and emotions of the day in a way that will transfix you each time you look at your photos. He will also take you up on any adventure! For my wedding, he was willing to go to a loft in a barn that I loved as a child. Now, this could have gone wrong in so many different ways, but it didn't. And his pictures- friends- they were INCREDIBLE! Keep in mind, he will also take the standard posed photos (that your mom or grandma might want), but I would say just let him do this thing- he will get it right on so many different levels. Alec is incredibly gifted!!! He is also exceptional with his turnaround time on his work. He sent me at least one photo the very next morning so I could update my social media as the new Mrs. AND- I love the fact that I can still access all of the photos. Alec doesn't make you pick a handful to buy from his prints. Seriously, I can have every last photo, forever. In and of itself, that is worth every penny you might spend. All that being said, Alec is PHENOMENAL! His work is BREATHTAKING! If I had to do it again, I would still choose Alec!

This is not just a “wedding photographer”. Alec is a Fine Arts professional. The pictures he took for our engagement photos as well as wedding were museum worthy. He captures the essence of “life” and if quite respected by myself and my family.

He beautifully photographed our day from beginning to end with such a natural appreciation for authentic, candid moments. His technical skill is incomparable. His attention to detail (composition, lighting, etc) is beyond impressive and inspiring. He is a true artist. Beyond his natural talent for photography, he is such a joy to work with - very laid back yet professional. I can't recommend Alec enough. He was by far one of the best decisions throughout the wedding process.

Alec made us look like total rockstars!! The photos he captured were straight out of my dreams! He is so easy and fun to work with and made everyone feel so comfortable in his presence. It really makes all the difference who you surround yourself with on your wedding day. So glad we chose Alec. I highly recommend him for all of your photography needs. Very cool dude, even better photog. ...did I mention he got pictures of us on a rooftop that was over a hundred years old???? Sooo cool!!

The English language is severely lacking for a word adequate enough to describe how wonderful Alec was to work with! He did both our engagement session and our wedding day and I'm still having a hard time choosing my favorites (a year/4 months later)! Our parents and guests loved him because he sat down and had moments to get to know them. He captured some of the most intimate and special moments and definitely knows how to capture the story about the love shared in your events. I/We couldn't recommend him more! He's incredible!

Alec was wonderful! We are so happy we hired him to photograph our wedding day. Alec did an awesome job covering multiple events for us. We liked him so much after he took pictures of our surprise proposal that we hired him to take our engagement and wedding photos as well. The thing that we liked most about Alec was his focus on really capturing the emotion of an event. Anyone can line up a big group and photograph them, but not everyone has a knack for finding all the candid shots that capture the happiness of the big day. We would definitely recommend him to a friend.

Alec has a great eye for capturing the romance of a setting and the romance between two people. He has such a good instinct for deciding on the most important moments to capture and then how best to capture them. I couldn't be happier with the way he documented my proposal to my fiance.
