Choosing Alex to be our wedding photographer was by far the best decision we made in the entirety of our wedding planning process! From our first meeting with him over Zoom, he was incredibly gracious, kind, and just plain fun to talk with. Our engagement shoot was a blast and the photos turned out incredible. We could not have been happier with Alex. He was very relaxed and easy to get along with, extremely talented, fairly priced, and did a great job of capturing our day. Alex is the best. We did an engagement shoot with him first and he does nothing but make you comfortable and put you in a great mood. My husband is not a huge fan of taking pictures, but even Alex made him have some fun. As for our wedding, I cannot thank Alex and his second photographer Aaron enough. They came to the bridal suite where we got ready and grabbed some awesome candids as well as some beautiful staged pictures of my dress and rings. He was great at capturing special moments but also making us laugh or smile when it counted. He also was very good at making sure the special moments would turn out. For example, during the ceremony my husband was standing directly under one of the lights which wouldn't have looked good in pictures and he very quickly and professionally paused the ceremony to have my husband move. It meant a lot that he is that dedicated to making sure our moments were all captured. We also had an extremely cold and windy November wedding. But he was great at getting enough pictures but not making us freeze outside. There was one moment where my shawl blew down by the river and Alex ran down to save it. My husbands family has a picture tradition and Alex made sure to deliver. The pictures are beautiful, but really working with Alex and Aaron was a pleasure. I'd recommend Alex to anyone. Alex was amazing! Growing up with a photographer as a mom I have always had very high standards for who would be my wedding photographer and Alex did so wonderfully! We have absolutely loved working with Alex for our wedding and engagement photos. He did outdoor engagement photos for us and was willing to travel to our chosen location. Even though he had never been there before, he quickly found beautiful spots. Alex was absolutely phenomenal, 5 stars is not enough! He did both our engagement photo shoot and our wedding and we loved both sets of photos. We got married in January but wanted outdoor photos, so he helped convince our large wedding parties that it would be worth it, and it definitely was! My husband and I took so much joy in going back through the day and seeing moments that we were not around for or had forgotten. We loved that he took both digital photos and film photos. Alex is absolutely AMAZING! He took both our engagement and wedding photos and we are absolutely in love with all of them. I can not say enough good things about Alex. Not only did he take absolutely beautiful pictures of my wedding, but he was patient and obliging when I wanted to take large group pictures with every branch of my family that came to my wedding (there were six!), he was able to organize my family and speed through the various groups without sacrificing quality. He was very quick to recognize important moments and photograph them. Alex was flexible and adapted well when various wedding guest made their own requests and suggestions. He made such a great impression that I had family members coming up to me all day and even the next day to tell me how much they liked my photographer, he was so well liked that at one point my cousins tried to get him to put down the camera and come dance! And lastly he was amazingly fast to get the wedding pictures to us! He posted some on instagram the week after the wedding and had the complete online album up and accessible in almost exactly a month! I have heard of wedding photographers taking as much as three months to get the photos out, but despite the fact that he was shooting a wedding every week after my wedding he kept me updated on my photos. I highly recommend Alex, he was perfect.

So good. Just so good. We knew we had to go with Alex to photograph our traditional Laotian wedding after we met with him. Working with Alex was so great! He had the perfect energy for our wedding day, very easygoing and flexible, which is always good on such a hectic day. Our pictures could not have been more amazing! Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for someone to capture such a wonderful event!

Alex shot our engagement photos and wedding in 2008. He did an incredible job; we love our images and have many of them framed and enjoy them to this day. Alex does a really good job of making photography a comfortable process, and honors any special requests you might have. We really wanted photos in a wildlife area, and he was game to get attacked by mosquitoes to get our perfect sunset shot! I also love the vignette shots of details like jewelry, something borrowed/something blue, etc. He captured many special moments during our getting ready time, and even our more staged photos with family look natural. I especially like that we own the rights to our photos and can have them printed however we want--that flexibility is important to me so we could always use the photos how we want to.

If I could give him 20 million stars I would! My husband and I sought out Alex to be our photographer for our wedding ceremony and reception after seeing some of his work, and we are THRILLED with the experience and results!! He has a wonderful, calm personality that made the entire process very enjoyable and relaxing. He's great at communication and planning ahead, which made our wedding photography easily the least stressful part of our wedding and planning; the entire time we trusted he was very reliable, which is exactly something we wanted in our photographer. Our guests afterwards commented on how they didn't even notice him throughout the ceremony or reception, which is quite the compliment to him on how he was able to observe and capture the day without disrupting or drawing focus. His manner as a wedding photographer is perfect. Perhaps most importantly, the photos are INCREDIBLE. We are constantly being told that we look like our photos should be in wedding magazines, which I attest to his skill at using lighting beautifully, framing photos well, and capturing those perfect moments. In addition to all the "standard" wedding shots, his portraits and capturing of emotions are incredible. I've marked over 400 of the photos as favorites -- I love love love them! It's clear he loves his art and he puts in the extra effort to do an amazing job. Finally, photo time with Alex and my hubby was easily one of my favorite parts of the day, no exaggeration. Alex was so easy to be around, and so I felt like got to focus on some quality time with my sweetie, which was hard to get on such a busy day! Alex could not have been a better choice, and we highly recommend him to any and all!

Alex is a great wedding photographer with a very artistic eye while still keeping things fairly traditional. Alex was so easy to work with and did a great job of helping us with time management. My husband was very anxious about running out of time for photos and Alex was great about calming him down AND getting all the shots we wanted :). Our reception was running late and Alex as very flexible to take photos and make sure we also got all the shots we wanted at the reception. He did a great job making us feel comfortable. His photos turn out great and he did an amazing job getting pictures of things that we didn't even know we wanted. He seemed genuinely excited to be taking pictures which helped us to feel comfortable and more excited too. I would highly recommend Alex Johnson Photography!
