fter a really terrible experience with a photographer, the girl ghosted us months before our wedding with no communication. Every time I look at the photos, I am so happy our first photographer fell through. We found Kellaphotos three months before the wedding they were not only genuinely accommodating but they were absolutely professional. Their communication skills are top tier- constantly checking in, letting us know exactly what they need and always making sure that any concerns we had were solved. The team was a dream at the wedding, you never noticed that they were there and they captured some of the most beautiful photos. My husband and I are not people who enjoy getting our photos taken, however, we felt so at ease working with the team – they made us laugh, helped us get comfortable and they captured some of my favorite photos. Would I recommend Kellaphotos? Yes! Absolutely. Have I already recommended them to people who are looking for beautiful photos that capture the essence of an event? Yes, I have. We booked them again for our traditional wedding next year and I am so excited to work with them again. . Alex came highly recommended by one of the event managers at Altadena Town and Country. We were fortunate enough that Alex was available and willing to be our photographer. Our wedding budget was limited so initially we opted not to do the engagement session but considering how reasonable Alex's prices are, we decided to add them. Leading up to the engagement session, I was highly anxious not knowing what to expect and not being able to make decisions on what to wear, what I wanted the pictures to look like, etc. From the first phone call and through the engagement shoot, Alex was warm and friendly and helped to put us at ease. The photo session was comfortable and even fun - we didn't feel rushed and she was willing to spend more time with us than we were paying for. The engagement photos came out great and quick enough for us to have them printed for the wedding, which added such a nice touch. From that point on, I knew we were in great hands for the wedding. The wedding day is as chaotic as couples say but even still, Alex and her co-photographer made us feel like the stars of the show. They were extremely kind and professional - made the whole process fun. We were so delighted with how our photos turned out. We are so thankful we were able to work with such a talented but humble and kind photographer.

She is calm, patient (extremely important on a wedding day), sweet, fun, thoughtful, focused and above all creative!! We feel we got to know her very well over the months that we worked together given that our original wedding date was postponed due to the pandemic. She was every bit of graceful and understanding along the way. Engagement shoot — We had to reschedule our engagement shoot due to weather conditions and she was flexible and honest about the quality of photos given certain weather/cloud cover. She provided us suggestions on what colors to wear and even helped us make the final call on outfits, which was needed and much appreciated! Wedding — our wedding photos turned out incredible!! I don’t know how her and her assistant Alex did it, but they captured the most perfect and memorable photos for us. It was a very hot day when we got married in August and they were such troppers! They made it seem like the weather was perfect outside. Alex gave us great direction while taking photos and even allowed us at times to be natural, which I believe is what led to such great photos. We definitely needed and appreciated her guidance. At the end of our wedding journey I really felt that Alexandra was like family! If you’re looking for a photographer who is easy to work with, talented and will provide you with beautiful, lasting wedding photos.. Alexandra (Kella Photography) should be highly considered!!! Our recommendations to couples — not just with Kella Photography but any photographer you may choose to use, it is very important to make note before the big day what shots are essential for the two of you to ensure it gets done. We really wanted to have great family & friend photos and our photographers made sure to wrangler the group and make it happen for us. This is quite difficult in general, especially in a pandemic. There are a lot of photographers out there that add filters to images. You know the “pinterest” look. I heavily considered that “look”, but after meeting Alex and looking through her website, I realized her photos are classic and timeless which is way better than a filter that will be out of date in the future. I have to make a shoutout to Alexandra’s assistant Alex…he went above and beyond for us in many ways throughout the day but one specific incident comes to mind. Given the pandemic I didn’t have my bridesmaids at the final dress fitting. In a pinch and to stay on schedule he helped us out with my bustle!! To us… that is not only incredibly sweet but it’s professionalism and dedication. Alexandra and Alex were absolutely wonderful photographers and people. We are so grateful to have met them!

We didn't have a huge window for all our photos (90 minutes for bride/groom, wedding party, and family) but WOW did she make it happen and we are SO pleased with how our photos turned out! Please believe me when I say that having a skilled, calm, and organized photographer is so important on your wedding day. We were so glad she was there!

look back on in 30 years and still love. Our wedding photos turned out amazing! We love love love them. My husband and I look at them and share them still, all the time and it seems we always find a new favorite. Alex was hands on from the beginning offering to help with the timeline of the big day to ensure we got all of the photos we wanted, even so far as timing the sunlight. She worked with me on coordinating what shots to get and when, based on all that was happening throughout that day and based on who was where - there are a lot of moving parts on the big day. Her attention to detail is great, as she caught a hair tie on one of my bridesmaids wrists before photos were taken, and adjusted things as needed while shooting. My now husband and I specifically said (during planning) that we really didn’t want to spend too much time after the wedding ceremony taking our photos because we wanted to be in the moment with our friends and family and get to the reception. We didn’t want to belabor on and on. Alex was able to get a ton of photos of us in just a handful of locations at our beautiful venue and in such a short time (maybe 30/40 minutes). We ended up with the perfect amount of photos and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! I’m impressed with how many variations of shots she was able to get with how little time we had before my husband and I were over the posing! Haha. The day after the wedding I received a sneak peak photo gallery from Alex of about a dozen photos while I was at my post wedding brunch with family and let me tell you, my phone was being passed around and everyone was DYING over the images. I love that I was able to have a little something from the big day so quickly after, before waiting for the rest. When I received all of the photos I felt she really captured the timeline of the big day. I made a book of our wedding in a huge 12” x 12” format, in chronological order and the book feels like I’m walking through the whole day all over again. The photos are so crisp and high quality, even when they are blown up. I also have a few 11” x 14” frames in our master - even bigger! The photos are wonderful. We are thankful to have had such an amazing wedding to celebrate our love and we are thankful that it was captured so beautifully and truthfully. We can’t wait to share our photos for decades to come and with generations to come. Thank you Alex!

We had to change our engagement session multiple times because of the pandemic, then we had to postpone our big September wedding to May, later we decided we were just going to get hitched, because we weren’t going to allow a pandemic to stop our 2020 husband and wife announcement. Alex was so patient and understanding with us, she even agreed to be our witness so she can be there and take pictures of our “I Dos” at the Honda Center. She took her time with our pictures and she chose the most beautiful location for our photo shoot. We love our pictures, this isn’t a job for her, this is her passion and it shows!!! It was important to us to not just hire a great photographer but also a warm, kind-hearted person who would be patient with us and accommodate all of our little quirks. We spoke to several photographers but after meeting Alex, we knew she was The One. She was so great to work with, happy to answer all of our questions, and very flexible with our timeline. She had a ton of creative photo ideas for our engagement shoot that really captured our life in Santa Monica: strolling through Palisades Park with our pup, hanging out on the Pier, riding the Ferris Wheel, biking on the Boardwalk, capturing the beautiful sunset. My wife and I still look back on those engagement photos and reminisce fondly upon that day and our time in Santa Monica. As for the actual wedding day, Alex and her partner were amazing. They took so many beautiful pictures—from getting ready in our rooms to the stunning scenery of the venue to the nighttime revelry and energy on the dance floor—that truly captured the spirit of the day. Alex and her camera captured every moment as though it was my "actual " wedding day when in reality it was 1 week away. She constantly checked in to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. Alex even took care of our dog! She made sure our dog had water and carried the dog when she didn’t feel like walking. My dog probably was wondering why she doesn’t get this type of service at home. :P All this just shows that Alex goes above what is asked of her when she doesn’t have to. As for the photography, the passion for her job is shown in the pictures. Her attention to detail, creativity and flexibility translates into great photos for everyone to view and enjoy. Having no knowledge of photography myself, I watched her study the surrounding and take sample shots to find the perfect photo. What more could you ask of your photographer and hey, no surprises here, the pictures came out perfect!

We met with Alex and she was up front about everything, brought some of her previous projects and even gave us suggestions for our event (we really didn’t have any ideas). Since we didn’t have any professional pictures to display during the event, we thought it would be nice to go ahead and take some pictures. This was also a chance for us to get an idea of how our reception photos would turn out. We picked a park and took photos. Alex was filled with ideas on poses and locations for the photos (she also took our ideas into consideration). She took her time and didn’t finish until we Were satisfied. I feel bad b/c she came a pretty far distance but that’s the type of person Alex is; she puts her customers first! The photos were sent to us in a timely fashion and looked amazing.
