Alex is a good photographer to begin with. He has a quiet kind of style - looking at his photos makes you feel like you're reading some kind of visual storybook. It's magical yet simple, romantic but not obnoxious. I always felt like most wedding photography was grossly obtrusive, as if the success of your wedding is based on how believably in love you are - there's the predictable shot where he dips you, the shot where the camera clicks inches away from your kissing faces... no hate if that's what you like, but I can't do that.
There is an art to holding a respectful distance for intimacy to flower, in tension with good timing to snap those sweet moments. Authenticity not an expression, not a show. His tasteful and minimal edits are the icing on the cake.
I personally can only take so many people telling me what to do (lol, can anyone say #wedding), so alex's chillness was invaluable. Thank you for the lovely photos! We trust you know we appreciate them a lot. :) - chris and phoebe

sions that we made for our wedding day. Logistically our day was somewhat complicated- we got ready in one location, had a church wedding, and our reception was in a third location. Alex handled working in multiple different locations beautifully, and there were no issues at all with logistics. On a personal level, Alex was incredible to work with. He answered every question and concern that we had leading up to the wedding and was very nice and easy to talk to. On our actual wedding day I was so impressed with the way that Alex worked. He was professional but not stuffy and got photos of details that I never would have thought to ask for. Our wedding was on a November afternoon in New England, so we really did not have much time to get photos outside after our ceremony but we did! Even with having to travel to multiple locations Alex never seemed rushed at all, but still got all of the photos that we could have wanted in a really short window. Last but certainly not least, the quality of Alex’s work was truly incredible. The photos from our wedding are absolutely breathtaking. We have all of the standard family and wedding party photos, and all of the rest of our photos really do take us back to our wedding. The photos of just the two of us before the reception don't look posed at all, and the photos of our guests are all wonderful. Alex truly captured our wedding, and I can’t recommend him enough!

s the photographer we wanted to hire for our daughter's wedding. We were a little concerned as we live in Virginia and the wedding was in California, but we didn't need to worry. Alex was easy to work with and was immediately available for any questions we had. Alex has a wonderful artistic eye, and captured beautifully all the special moments of the wedding, from the getting ready, to the ceremony and the reception. While our daughter and now son-in-law had their own photo album, my husband and I asked Alex to make a small one for us as well. While we selected the type of album we wanted, we trusted Alex's artistic eye to lay it out and put it together for us. We loved the final result. Alex's work is truly of the highest quality. We highly recommend him, and would hire him again in a heartbeat.

We just got our photos back this weekend and they are beautiful. He captured the day in such a natural way and they are amazing. Not to mention he got them to us in such a short turn around without impacting quality or rushing at all. Most vendors take 3-6 months so that was another plus. Alex also put together a short video of the photo highlights which was such a nice bonus.

ee and extract beauty from the mundane. This will mean different things to different people - for us it meant our guests were photographed in their most human form, and the purest intentions of the day shone through.
In a photographer, we weren't looking for merely a "vendor," but specifically an artist. We weren't looking for someone to line us up and herd our relatives. We wanted to see our wedding as interpreted by an artist, and Alex didn't disappoint in any way.

He was very easy to work with, and due to us not having a wedding planner, he basically doubled as a planner as well, making sure we were on schedule and coordinating everything with the DJ.
We are so happy with the pictures and album he delivered. I would definitely recommend Alex to anyone that might have similar priorities as we did for our wedding day.

oosing the right wedding photographer. We went through at least 40 or so professional photographers who were, frankly, super boring.
When we saw Alex's website, it was pretty much an instantaneous "YES." His previous work showed that he didn't just shoot standard wedding photos: he captured a full range of emotions, vibes, and moments that make every wedding particularly unique.
He was able to capture the excitement of our guests, the formality of our ceremony, and the moments between my wife and I (not to mention some great shots of our raging dance reception).
Our wedding got unexpectedly rained-out on, and it was not an issue for Alex. He remained cool and collected and completely revised all our shots with the unfavorable weather, on short notice. He turned what would have otherwise been a grim and grey skyline into a super light-hearted wedding party photo punctuated by colorful umbrellas. It was his idea. We still talk about this.
Ultimately, Alex is a remarkable photographer and super nice guy who will work with you on your vision of your ideal wedding photos. Keep in mind that what sets him apart is his style of making real moments look captivating. Hire him before Vanity Fair does.
