I went to 4 boutiques while shopping for my wedding dress. I came back to Alexia Gavela 3 times. They were accommodating, patient, and most importantly, kept all of the dresses I tried on within my budget. Alterations were minimal because they sized me perfectly when ordering the dress. All costs were transparent upfront, and they were even able to alter my reception dress which was bought at a different online store.

I cannot say enough good things about working with Geri. His commitment to his craft is absolutely unparalleled. Austin was a destination wedding for me, and he was able to accommodate same-day steaming for my wedding dress and a number of other bridal outfits. He steamed them to perfection, and truly went above and beyond to ensure that they were absolutely perfect for my big weekend. When we were concerned about messing them up in the small car we had rented, Geri even offered to delivery them to the hotel. He personally carted them up and had me look through all of his work. His professionalism and expertise is incredible, highly recommend working with him for your wedding weekend.

I was SO happy with my experience (and wedding dress!) with Alexia Gavela Bridal. Gerry was so kind and accommodating throughout the whole process of scheduling and fittings after I chose my dress. They have such a big collection of beautiful dresses, and Gerry helped me find the perfect one.

Geri and Alex are amazing! I can’t recommend them enough. I drove from Houston because of the limited options I had in my area — I felt like every bridal boutique had the same dresses and I didn’t want a dress I’ve seen before, but they were able to custom make my dream dress! If I ever have another formal event, I’ll be a returning client.

Geri was phenomenal! From the moment I walked in the store, Geri was customizing every dress for me. He truly cares about his clients and you can see his passion! I had no idea what kind of dress I wanted when I went in but Geri did an excellent job of reading my personality to find me the perfect dress. Thank you so much Geri and Alex. You both are wonderful people! Hands down would recommend every bride to Alexia Gavela! I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience, not to mention my dress was INCREDIBLE.

I had a custom dress designed and created by Alexia Gavela. I could not have envisioned a more beautiful dress. I went in with a particular idea, I knew I wanted to include purple in my dress. Geri took up the challenge and considered all my ideas. He only had to try two dresses on me before finding the PERFECT dress. I definitely had happy tears in my eyes when I tried it on for the first time. Every step (from deciding on the dress to picking it up before the wedding) was easy and enjoyable. Everyone at Alexia Gavela is friendly and helpful. Geri not only has a gift for dresses and design, but he’s also a kind person who is willing to help in any way he can. I will be recommending Alexia Gavela to everyone I know who needs a wedding dress. This is THE place to find exactly what you are looking for!

I worked with Geri to find the perfect bridesmaid dress. He recommended a dress style that would look good with my shape, and it ended up being the style that I loved the most and purchased. He knows his stuff! It was a fun and comfortable experience.. a beautiful, cute shop that is an Austin gem.

When I first visited Alexia Gavela in search of my wedding gown, I actually did not know what style I wanted to go with. They were great about letting me try on multiple styles and to get a better idea of what might work for me. They were so wonderful throughout the entire process and were able to knowledgeably answer any questions I had. I also loved the large selection of veils and beautiful accessories they had in the store. The gown arrived with time to spare. Geri and his staff were absolutely incredible! My girls and I had so much fun, happy tears, laughter. Thank you Alexia Gavela Bridal for an amazing experiences!❤️

Alexia Gavela was just what I was looking for when searching for my wedding dress. I was VERY thorough in my search for a wedding dress. I went to EVERY bridal shop in Austin Texas and this is where I found my dress. I probably checked out 15 shops! Not only was the selection extensive, but the attention to detail Jerry provided me with made me feel special and a priority. Jerry listened to what I was looking for and almost instantly I found THE dress. Thank you so so much for all your help!

OMG this man has a talent that you won't even believe. I flew from San Diego California to Austin TX to visit family and friends and to find my dream wedding dress. I went to 8 different bridal salons and this was my last stop at Alexia Gavela. I told Geri of my vision of sparkles, fun but with elegance and drama and let me tell you, he made it happen. The dress is beautiful, moveable, sexy and just unique. I am so excited to wear my dress, I can't wait for the wedding to happen. Thank You Geri and all the staff at Alexia for helping me on my dream dress.

We found both my wedding dress and the Mother of the Bride dress here! Geri and his staff are absolutely incredible. The customer service and follow up are so far beyond what I could have expected. I had been to 3 other places before coming here, and I booked an appointment last minute. I didn't show Geri any pictures, but I gave him an idea of the style and shape i wanted. We tried on about 5 gowns and all of them were so lovely and so unique, which is exactly what I wanted. We book a follow up so my mom could see the dress, and we said YES! Five minutes later, we decided to look for a Mother of the Bride dress. My mom had an idea of what she wanted (something comfortable, but flattering). Geri pulled a style slightly different than what she wanted, but it looked INCREDIBLE on her, and we bought it that day after only trying one dress. Seriously Alexia Gavela is amazing. So glad we found this shop.

I am the mother of the groom and had been searching desperately for the perfect dress for the last four or five months. I was looking for a dress that was tasteful, classy, sexy yet modest. After purchasing and returning six other dresses I really was losing hope. I happened to be in Austin for a dr appointment and decided to go to Z Couture after. After trying on five or six dresses and being ignored over the prom buyers I got in my car and called two bridal shops even though I had to be back in New Braunfels in two hours. The last one I called was Alexia and Geri answered my call and prayers. He said he had a few dresses in my size 0-2 (which are really hard to find at other bridal shops). He pulled the dresses for me before I got there as I told him I had limited time. They were the most beautiful dresses I had ever seen. Not your typical designers like all the other places. I picked the one I wanted, went back the next day to see the tailor (only needed to be hemmed) and the other bonus was I asked Geri where I could find a rehearsal dress and he said if you want something short I have two I can show you and I found the perfect dress for that night also. I so wish there was a place to post pictures of both. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received. I just want to say thank you!🥰🥰

I absolutely recommend them. I have a relatively tight timeline for my wedding dress alternation, but they managed to get it done and it is so pretty. At first, I felt it is a little expensive. But when I saw the dress done, it is absolutely worth it!

First, let me start by saying I do not normally write reviews. My thought process is this...if I don't like the product or service received, I simply do not return. In the case of working with Geri and his staff at Alexia Gavel Bridal, however, I had such a wonderful experience from beginning to end, that I had to give credit to Geri and his team above and beyond handshakes and hugs :). From the selection process, to the necessary rounds of alterations to get the fit just right, to the delivery, to the post-wedding follow-up, my husband and I have been very pleased with Alexia Gavela Bridal and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone who is looking to entrust such an important piece of the wedding process to professionals who know their business and client's expectations well. I booked an appointment months in advanced and made sure to ask if they’d be open on Memorial Day. I’m flying in from another state and it was very important I got a dress while I was in Texas, since my family and the wedding venue will be in Texas. I called to confirm my appointment in which they did not answer. Well the day of I drove down for my appointment which is about a 45 minute to an hour drive and they were closed. Needless to say this was a waste of my time and I do not recommend anyone going to a business in which they can’t answer their phones or have correct dates of which their business is open

The absolute best!! This happened to be the first bridal shop we went to. The experience was so perfect! Geri and team were welcoming and genuinely happy to help find the right dress. I showed him a picture of what I was going for and he had just the right one! The first dress I tried on was it! We went to a couple of other shops in town to make sure we explored all options, but we came back to Alexia Gavela Bridal. The quality of dresses are amazing and the hospitality made the experience so fun!! Thank you Geri and team!!! Can’t wait to share pics!

Went there to see a dress that The Knot says they have. They told me that they don't carry that dress and kept showing me completely different dresses (satin a-line instead of lace mermaid). The lady kept giving me dresses that were too small, I told her this and she told me to try to make it work. She didn't really seem like she wanted to be there and made my first experience trying on wedding dresses unpleasant.

They were helpful in suggestions. But they never offered any drinks or snacks as offered on the website. When my mom asked for water, they told my group of 5 they only had one left and it was room temp. When we we’ Leaving they brought out flutes, juice, and cold bottles of water for the next party. That really bit and I won’t be returning. This was my first stop for a dress and it was dissapointing.

Armed with a better understanding of what I wanted, I scoured designer collections online until I narrowed it down the dress I fell in love with. It was a Mori Lee dress and Alexia Gavela was able to special order the gown with my specific style number. They were so wonderful throughout the entire process and were able to knowledgeably answer any questions I had. I also loved the large selection of veils and beautiful accessories they had in the store. The gown arrived with time to spare. Loved my experience working with this vendor and would recommend them to future brides.

I will admit that when I first walked into Alexia Gavela, I did not have high hopes. It is a very small salon and it does not seem very well lit inside. Alex was my dress consultant and she quickly changed my impressions! I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted, and she was able to understand my style immediately. She came back with several dresses that included not only the dress I ultimately bought, but also several other close runners-up. Other stores would pick things I was not interested in or just leave me on my own to browse the store, which is not very helpful when I am less familiar with the dresses in stock than the store employees are. After I bought the dress, working with Geri and the other consultants in the store doing fittings and alterations was great. My dress did not fit at all when it first came in (did they order me the wrong size?) but by the end of the process it fit like a glove, and they even made some quick last minute alterations two weeks before the wedding at my last fitting. Overall I’m really glad I came here and found my perfect dress thanks to the help of some very knowledgeable consultants.

as a plus size bride, I worried so much about the process of trying on dresses. I can't sing enough praises about everyone at Alexia Gavela. Go there, don't be scared! They made my dream dress a reality (and I customized a TON!). It was great to have all the alterations done in house, they even make sure it's steamed and ready to go. Can't recommend them more, it was as stressfree as a wedding dress can be! Thank you to everyone there!

I want to give this Shop a 6th Star, but 5 is the limit. This small shop is jammed packed with talent. Geri is one of the owners and he is so amazingly talented I don't quite know where to start talking about him. Geri is an expert in bridal fashion. He will help you to find the perfect dress and then he will alter it to fit you perfectly. Customer service is top notch in a very relaxed atmosphere. Our initial visits (I am the Mother of the Bride) were when we had not yet decided on a dress or a dress shop. Geri never pressured us and just kept answering our questions and offering advice and wisdom. Even though we live in San Antonio and had to do some commuting during the wedding dress process, I still strongly recommend this Bridal Shop. My daughter and I will never forget our wonderful wedding dress experience at Alexia Gavela Bridal in Austin.

My dress was MY DRESS by the time they were done with it. I bought it elsewhere and had it bustled and hemmed with Alexia Gavela. They came highly recommended and I will pass on the gratitude. They re-hemmed it multiple times, making sure to be careful and unhurried. The quiet women pinning my dress seemed to really love what she did based on how mindful she moved. I enjoyed watching her work. I wanted a dress I could dance in and not step on and boy (!) could I dance! Thank you for y'all's skill and patience with the changes over the weeks. I am so grateful. Fantastic! I absolutely loved working with Alexia Gavela. I had been to several salons before this one and their service, attention to detail, and passion for brides is above and beyond any other place I experienced. One of my bridesmaids also used them for her wedding (this is how I found them) and was also absolutely perfect in her gown. The staff their truly takes each persons taste into account, and are never pushy trying to get you to try on something you do not want. They have a knack for finding the right dress for the bride. I would recommend them to anyone, regardless of wedding style or size, the right dress can be found here!

The staff at Alexia Gavela helped me to select the PERFECT dress for my wedding. I told the staff what I was looking for and they completely understood my vision. After trying only 2 dresses, I found my dress. My dress was absolutely stunning and affordable. It was a showstopper and I received so many compliments. Geri and the dresses at Alexia Gavela were a breath of fresh air after visiting some of the other dress shops in Austin. The store is intimate and clean and the employees were all knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I was torn between two Kenneth Winston Private Label by G dresses. Geri let me stay after store hours and showed me every possible option of how they could alter the dress shape, color and lace until we came up with my dream dress. I loved his honesty and attention to detail. Without me saying anything, he was able to offer suggestions on how to slightly alter the dress to flatter my shape. I was so excited at my first fitting at how perfect and beautiful everything turned out. I highly recommend Alexia Gavela!

Do not be fooled by the appearance of the little, old shop, it has AWESOME dresses and service!! Vanessa helped me find my dress and she was so great at helping me pin point exactly what I wanted. Plus my dress was in budget! Their selection of dresses is absolutely beautiful and perfect if you're looking for something non-traditional and more vintage style. I absolutely love mine, many tears were cried when it hit me that it was MY dress! Great place and great service, they really know what they're doing!

Geri with Alexia Gavela is amazing! I walked in, told him what my dream dress was, and he pulled one that had more sparkle than I had seen anywhere else - and only $5 over budget. It was my dream dress. Between that and the in house alterations he made me look AMAZING!

I purchased my wedding veil here and they had the most variety, beautiful lace, and best priced veils I saw in Austin. They have limited store hours, but were very helpful with walk-ins. Very satisfied!

Geri is absolutely incredible!! I truly do not have space to say enough wonderful things about him and his talent. Not only did he make my entire experience totally positive and super easy, he took an Alvina Valenta gown I purchased elsewhere and transformed it into the most perfect original design I have ever seen. It fit flawlessly and his ideas were unique but also traditional. He took time to listen to me and get to know me. His prices are way more than fair for the services he provides. My mom and I were both so pleased she took her dresses there to have them altered as well. I would recommend this place to my dearest friends and family. A wonderful experience.

Alexia Gavela came highly recommended to me by a friend who works in the wedding industry. It was actually the second bridal salon I went to. I first went to another well-known salon in Austin, and I did not have a great experience there...it was very so-so. The salesperson I was working with did not make me feel great. I found a dress that I kind of liked, but I was anxious to get to Alexia Gavela to see what all they had. I had the great pleasure of working with Geri, who made me feel so beautiful and at ease. I showed him pictures of styles that I liked, and he pulled a few dresses, and my maids of honor that were there with me picked some dresses as well. I will never forget seeing "my" dress on me for the first time - it felt like it was made just for me. My mom, future MIL, maids of honor, and aunt were all there with me, and we all got teary-eyed. Picking out a bridal gown can be an emotional experience, and Geri and his team were so sweet and accommodating. Geri and his team did my alterations as well - they were perfect. Geri was a perfectionist (in a good way!) about getting the length of the dress just right to go with my shoes. I ended up ordering a custom veil through Geri as well, with lace to match the trim of my dress. It was absolutely perfect. I wish I could get married again so I could work with Geri again to find another dress!

Alexia Gavela is a wonderful option if you are looking for a more personal experience in what feels like your own private dressing room. It feels like a boutique with tons of beautiful gowns to try on. They are very responsive and do a fabulous job on alterations, making sure they get the exact fit and look that you want. I requested they add beaded spaghetti straps to a strapless gown and they did a gorgeous job. The gown fit perfectly and was everything I had dreamed of for that day. It captured the look I wanted exactly as I imagined it thanks to Alexia Gavela. The entire experience from trying on gowns to having it preserved was easy and wonderful - definitely recommend them to anyone!

Geri and his staff were awesome! From the moment I walked into Alexia Gavela to begin shopping until I walked out with my dress, I was treated with great service. Geri helped me find the perfect dress and the perfect belt to add the finishing touch to my dress. The alterations team were great, even when they had to take my dress in numerous times. My dress fit perfectly on my wedding day, and I cannot thank Alexia Gavela enough for helping me find the dress of my dreams!

Everyone at Alexia Gavela Bridal was SO accommodating and patient with me! I could not have asked for a better experience. I am not the kind of person that enjoys shopping or trying on clothes, so I didn't know what to expect. I went into the fitting room with 16 dresses, I believe. They patiently went through each dress with me and did not offer unsolicited opinions. They did go through the pros and cons of each dress as it applied to me, which I definitely appreciated! Getting alterations done was also a pleasant experience! I wasn't sure if or how I wanted to bustle my dress, and they pinned and showed me all the options before I decided just to cut off the train altogether. Alexia Gavela Bridal made an experience, that could have been full of stress and anxiety, a great one to remember!

My mom and I shopped at 5 different boutiques in Austin when looking for my wedding gown. We fell in love with a dress at Alexia Gavela, even though it didn't have every single thing I wanted. Geri (the owner) worked with the dress designer in Spain and they customized the dress so that it was exactly they way I wanted it - and there was very little additional cost! The staff at Alexia Gavela is helpful and they truly want you to feel beautiful in your gown. Their seamstress is also the best and did a fantastic job with my alterations.

I visited about 6-8 places before I went to Alexia Gavela…and I wish this would have been my first stop. I told Geri what I was looking for and he delivered. I felt like a real princess in my dress. He is amazing !!! Highly recommend them !!

I didn't buy my dress from this shop, but I did use them for alterations. My dress was a sample gown and needed a lot of work! There were several tears in the lace and the zipper would get stuck. In addition, there were some big alterations I wanted done (removing cap sleeves to turn into a strapless dress; attaching the lace overlay to the satin sheath). Their work was phenomenal, and they were very easy to work with! I absolutely loved the dress I walked out of there with.

I bought my dress from Alfred Angelo but I heard terrible things about their alteration process. They basically pin you dress and ship it off to some large factory where most of the time is crooked. Being skeptical about this I was referred by a friend to Alexia Gavela Bridal who had the same type of alteration done to her dress as I wanted which is a sweetheart neckline. Now my friend had a nightmare of a story because she had 3 other places work on her dress and screw it up. However, Alexia Gavela came to the rescue and fixed her dress! Thank God! After hearing her story I knew I needed to go straight to them. They fit my dress perfectly. The woman who does the alterations doesn't speak English very well yet we communicated without a problem and her work came out perfectly. They also took in the sweetheart a little a time to make sure it didn't get too low.

I have to say, I had a pretty specific idea of what I wanted in a wedding dress. The problem is I had no clue how to articulate it and I HATE shopping. Malory was fantastic at listening to what I liked and didn't like about certain dresses and applying it to finding the perfect dress. Geri and Malory work seamlessly as a team and were so flexible. When I found the right dress, they worked with the designer to make it perfect. Changing the color, the back, neckline and even removing the beading to make it exactly what I wanted. When making so many changes to a dress there is a lot of axiety around it. Malory and Geri offered suggestions and critics to make sure the changes worked well together and really complimented the tone of the wedding. Right down to the 3 button bustle to axcentuate the lace. When it comes to service and making the process as easy as possible, these guys are the best! I purchased my flower girl dresses from another store (5) and the kids where arriving in the states just days before the wedding. Being unsure of the alterations which would be needed, Geri was sure to arrange staff to be on hand to assist. Luckily only 1 dress needed altering and 4 pressing- but he turned it around in just one day. He really took everything from a "how can I help" perpective, even things that were really not his problem to deal with. I cannot express my satisfaction enough. Many thanks to Geri and Malory, you really did make my wedding dress experience awesome. TIP: If you have miliary family let them know for a discount with miliary ID!

I ordered my perfect gown with accessories from Alexia Gavela in June. However, my fiance and I ended up moving, and had to have the dress shipped. Everything arrived just as beautiful as I remembered, and they just couldn't have been nicer from the moment we walked in the shop to the confirmation that I had received everything in one piece.

I thought this place was going to be amazing. Geri was so helpful with selecting my dress and accessories, and the seamstress was helpful for my fittings. We scheduled my pickup date for my bridal photo's a month in advance, and I emailed a few days before to confirm (they emailed back- assuring me everything would be ready). On the day of my bridal photos, I arrived to pick up my dress, and they said it would be ready shortly. I ended up being over 45 minutes late to my bridal photo shoot, after hearing every excuse in the book- Geri was out of town, our steamer is broken, etc etc... it turns out they hadn't finished sewing the hem of my gown and were frantically hand stitching it in the back room! Needless to say, the hem looked terrible (thank God for photo shop). They didn't offer to pay for my time wasted at the photo shoot (again, I lost 45 minutes of a 2 hour block, which I had paid $85 for at Laguna Gloria). When it comes down to it, I am thankful this happened on my "trial run" day, but I would have preferred it not happen at all. If you choose to buy a gown from here, only trust Geri and none of the other staff.

I decided to try Alexia Gavela after meeting with our wedding cordinator at Barton Creek. She recommended it and my mom and I went later that day. Within ten minutes of being there I found the most perfect dress! They were so easy to work with and stored my dress until the wedding.

I purchased my dress from Alexia Gavela Bridal in January 2012. I had a great experience with the store. At first the store was a little overwhelming because there are so many dresses in the little store but they were all very beautiful. They had a little bit of every style and price point that you could imagine. It is definately the place to go if you are looking for a gorgeous high quailty gown without spend a small fortune. The staff is very friendly and even cleaned and pressed my dress twice for free (once for my bridals and then again for the actual wedding.)

Great staff, great dresses, great variety. This was a small intimate setting and they treat you like a friend... can't say enough about how wonderful the dress buying experience here was for me. They listen find what YOU want versus telling you what you should wear. They were able to find me my perfect dress and I'm not tiny... I had been to larger stores and Alexia Gavela had more options.

I ordered a dress 11 months in advance of my wedding, It was promised to me in 7 months. When that 7 month mark came and went I called (they did not call me to explain) and they acted like I made up the date they gave me, then said it would be in the next month. I did not actually see my dress until 2 weeks before my wedding. They said it was stuck in customs. I realize the delay was probably not there fault, but they did not communicate with me. They did however get my dress altered and to me in time for my wedding.

I was so thankful for Geri and his crew at Alexia Gavela. He took care of me from the minute I walked in, alone, on a random weekday and helped me find the perfect dress. Then, he was willing to deal with my crazy (loving) mom and everyone else that wanted to come see the dress in the shop. He went above and beyond in so many ways in order to make my dress the PERFECT dress for me! I LOVED my wedding dress! It was spectacular and everyone at Alexia Gavela was so great to work with. In fact, the owner is actually the one who found my wedding dress. He asked me a few questions and then said he had a dress in mind. It was the only dress I tried on there but had been to 3 other dress stores that day and was pretty discouraged by the time I made it to Alexia Gavela. This place is amazing! I highly recommend checking them out!!

All I have to say is "WOW!" Geri was so patient, sweet, and professional. The seamstress did an unbelievable job on my dress. Love them!
