I found Alexia Gavela when I was searching for a good alterations place for my dress. I wish I had known about them before I bought my actual dress because they are so so amazing at what they do! They recently moved from downtown to the Arboretum so it was a bit of a drive for me coming from San Marcos to have my fittings but so worth it. Gerry is SO NICE and he knew exactly what to do for each of my concerns I had that I needed alterations for. I bought my veil and belt from them and just had the best experience. I highly recommend them for both alterations and for finding your perfect dress. Their new store is HUGE and has so many options to choose from.

I went to 4 boutiques while shopping for my wedding dress. I came back to Alexia Gavela 3 times. They were accommodating, patient, and most importantly, kept all of the dresses I tried on within my budget. Alterations were minimal because they sized me perfectly when ordering the dress. All costs were transparent upfront, and they were even able to alter my reception dress which was bought at a different online store.

date same-day steaming for my wedding dress and a number of other bridal outfits. He steamed them to perfection, and truly went above and beyond to ensure that they were absolutely perfect for my big weekend. When we were concerned about messing them up in the small car we had rented, Geri even offered to delivery them to the hotel. He personally carted them up and had me look through all of his work. His professionalism and expertise is incredible, highly recommend working with him for your wedding weekend.

uld have expected. I had been to 3 other places before coming here, and I booked an appointment last minute. I didn't show Geri any pictures, but I gave him an idea of the style and shape i wanted. We tried on about 5 gowns and all of them were so lovely and so unique, which is exactly what I wanted. We book a follow up so my mom could see the dress, and we said YES! Five minutes later, we decided to look for a Mother of the Bride dress. My mom had an idea of what she wanted (something comfortable, but flattering). Geri pulled a style slightly different than what she wanted, but it looked INCREDIBLE on her, and we bought it that day after only trying one dress. Seriously Alexia Gavela is amazing. So glad we found this shop.

yet modest. After purchasing and returning six other dresses I really was losing hope. I happened to be in Austin for a dr appointment and decided to go to Z Couture after. After trying on five or six dresses and being ignored over the prom buyers I got in my car and called two bridal shops even though I had to be back in New Braunfels in two hours. The last one I called was Alexia and Geri answered my call and prayers. He said he had a few dresses in my size 0-2 (which are really hard to find at other bridal shops). He pulled the dresses for me before I got there as I told him I had limited time. They were the most beautiful dresses I had ever seen. Not your typical designers like all the other places. I picked the one I wanted, went back the next day to see the tailor (only needed to be hemmed) and the other bonus was I asked Geri where I could find a rehearsal dress and he said if you want something short I have two I can show you and I found the perfect dress for that night also. I so wish there was a place to post pictures of both. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received. I just want to say thank you!🥰🥰

was in Texas, since my family and the wedding venue will be in Texas. I called to confirm my appointment in which they did not answer. Well the day of I drove down for my appointment which is about a 45 minute to an hour drive and they were closed. Needless to say this was a waste of my time and I do not recommend anyone going to a business in which they can’t answer their phones or have correct dates of which their business is open

They were helpful in suggestions. But they never offered any drinks or snacks as offered on the website. When my mom asked for water, they told my group of 5 they only had one left...
and it was room temp. When we we’ Leaving they brought out flutes, juice, and cold bottles of water for the next party. That really bit and I won’t be returning. This was my first stop for a dress and it was dissapointing.

Armed with a better understanding of what I wanted, I scoured designer collections online until I narrowed it down the dress I fell in love with. It was a Mori Lee dress and Alexia Gavela was able to special order the gown with my specific style number. They were so wonderful throughout the entire process and were able to knowledgeably answer any questions I had. I also loved the large selection of veils and beautiful accessories they had in the store. The gown arrived with time to spare. Loved my experience working with this vendor and would recommend them to future brides.

ant and she quickly changed my impressions! I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted, and she was able to understand my style immediately. She came back with several dresses that included not only the dress I ultimately bought, but also several other close runners-up. Other stores would pick things I was not interested in or just leave me on my own to browse the store, which is not very helpful when I am less familiar with the dresses in stock than the store employees are. After I bought the dress, working with Geri and the other consultants in the store doing fittings and alterations was great. My dress did not fit at all when it first came in (did they order me the wrong size?) but by the end of the process it fit like a glove, and they even made some quick last minute alterations two weeks before the wedding at my last fitting. Overall I’m really glad I came here and found my perfect dress thanks to the help of some very knowledgeable consultants.

w where to start talking about him. Geri is an expert in bridal fashion. He will help you to find the perfect dress and then he will alter it to fit you perfectly. Customer service is top notch in a very relaxed atmosphere. Our initial visits (I am the Mother of the Bride) were when we had not yet decided on a dress or a dress shop. Geri never pressured us and just kept answering our questions and offering advice and wisdom. Even though we live in San Antonio and had to do some commuting during the wedding dress process, I still strongly recommend this Bridal Shop. My daughter and I will never forget our wonderful wedding dress experience at Alexia Gavela Bridal in Austin.

beyond any other place I experienced. One of my bridesmaids also used them for her wedding (this is how I found them) and was also absolutely perfect in her gown. The staff their truly takes each persons taste into account, and are never pushy trying to get you to try on something you do not want. They have a knack for finding the right dress for the bride. I would recommend them to anyone, regardless of wedding style or size, the right dress can be found here!

Geri let me stay after store hours and showed me every possible option of how they could alter the dress shape, color and lace until we came up with my dream dress. per easy, he took an Alvina Valenta gown I purchased elsewhere and transformed it into the most perfect original design I have ever seen. It fit flawlessly and his ideas were unique but also traditional. He took time to listen to me and get to know me. His prices are way more than fair for the services he provides. My mom and I were both so pleased she took her dresses there to have them altered as well. I would recommend this place to my dearest friends and family. A wonderful experience.

I found a dress that I kind of liked, but I was anxious to get to Alexia Gavela to see what all they had. I had the great pleasure of working with Geri, who made me feel so beautiful and at ease. I showed him pictures of styles that I liked, and he pulled a few dresses, and my maids of honor that were there with me picked some dresses as well. I will never forget seeing "my" dress on me for the first time - it felt like it was made just for me. My mom, future MIL, maids of honor, and aunt were all there with me, and we all got teary-eyed. Picking out a bridal gown can be an emotional experience, and Geri and his team were so sweet and accommodating. Geri and his team did my alterations as well - they were perfect. Geri was a perfectionist (in a good way!) about getting the length of the dress just right to go with my shoes. I ended up ordering a custom veil through Geri as well, with lace to match the trim of my dress. It was absolutely perfect. I wish I could get married again so I could work with Geri again to find another dress!

tiful gowns to try on. They are very responsive and do a fabulous job on alterations, making sure they get the exact fit and look that you want. I requested they add beaded spaghetti straps to a strapless gown and they did a gorgeous job. The gown fit perfectly and was everything I had dreamed of for that day. It captured the look I wanted exactly as I imagined it thanks to Alexia Gavela. The entire experience from trying on gowns to having it preserved was easy and wonderful - definitely recommend them to anyone!

g on clothes, so I didn't know what to expect. I went into the fitting room with 16 dresses, I believe. They patiently went through each dress with me and did not offer unsolicited opinions. They did go through the pros and cons of each dress as it applied to me, which I definitely appreciated! Getting alterations done was also a pleasant experience! I wasn't sure if or how I wanted to bustle my dress, and they pinned and showed me all the options before I decided just to cut off the train altogether. Alexia Gavela Bridal made an experience, that could have been full of stress and anxiety, a great one to remember!

ng I wanted. Geri (the owner) worked with the dress designer in Spain and they customized the dress so that it was exactly they way I wanted it - and there was very little additional cost! The staff at Alexia Gavela is helpful and they truly want you to feel beautiful in your gown. Their seamstress is also the best and did a fantastic job with my alterations.

er would get stuck. In addition, there were some big alterations I wanted done (removing cap sleeves to turn into a strapless dress; attaching the lace overlay to the satin sheath). Their work was phenomenal, and they were very easy to work with! I absolutely loved the dress I walked out of there with.

e time is crooked. Being skeptical about this I was referred by a friend to Alexia Gavela Bridal who had the same type of alteration done to her dress as I wanted which is a sweetheart neckline. Now my friend had a nightmare of a story because she had 3 other places work on her dress and screw it up. However, Alexia Gavela came to the rescue and fixed her dress! Thank God! After hearing her story I knew I needed to go straight to them. They fit my dress perfectly. The woman who does the alterations doesn't speak English very well yet we communicated without a problem and her work came out perfectly. They also took in the sweetheart a little a time to make sure it didn't get too low.

stening to what I liked and didn't like about certain dresses and applying it to finding the perfect dress. Geri and Malory work seamlessly as a team and were so flexible. When I found the right dress, they worked with the designer to make it perfect. Changing the color, the back, neckline and even removing the beading to make it exactly what I wanted. When making so many changes to a dress there is a lot of axiety around it. Malory and Geri offered suggestions and critics to make sure the changes worked well together and really complimented the tone of the wedding. Right down to the 3 button bustle to axcentuate the lace. When it comes to service and making the process as easy as possible, these guys are the best! I purchased my flower girl dresses from another store (5) and the kids where arriving in the states just days before the wedding. Being unsure of the alterations which would be needed, Geri was sure to arrange staff to be on hand to assist. Luckily only 1 dress needed altering and 4 pressing- but he turned it around in just one day. He really took everything from a "how can I help" perpective, even things that were really not his problem to deal with. I cannot express my satisfaction enough. Many thanks to Geri and Malory, you really did make my wedding dress experience awesome. TIP: If you have miliary family let them know for a discount with miliary ID!
