Geri let me stay after store hours and showed me every possible option of how they could alter the dress shape, color and lace until we came up with my dream dress. I loved his honesty and attention to detail. Without me saying anything, he was able to offer suggestions on how to slightly alter the dress to flatter my shape. I was so excited at my first fitting at how perfect and beautiful everything turned out. I highly recommend Alexia Gavela!

The owner is super nice and works hard to get that perfect fit for you! Excellent, friendly staff too. Even in the heat of wedding & prom season, they made me feel special and not just a number.

was very so-so. The salesperson I was working with did not make me feel great. I found a dress that I kind of liked, but I was anxious to get to Alexia Gavela to see what all they had. I had the great pleasure of working with Geri, who made me feel so beautiful and at ease. I showed him pictures of styles that I liked, and he pulled a few dresses, and my maids of honor that were there with me picked some dresses as well. I will never forget seeing "my" dress on me for the first time - it felt like it was made just for me. My mom, future MIL, maids of honor, and aunt were all there with me, and we all got teary-eyed. Picking out a bridal gown can be an emotional experience, and Geri and his team were so sweet and accommodating. Geri and his team did my alterations as well - they were perfect. Geri was a perfectionist (in a good way!) about getting the length of the dress just right to go with my shoes. I ended up ordering a custom veil through Geri as well, with lace to match the trim of my dress. It was absolutely perfect. I wish I could get married again so I could work with Geri again to find another dress!

They did go through the pros and cons of each dress as it applied to me, which I definitely appreciated! Getting alterations done was also a pleasant experience! I wasn't sure if or how I wanted to bustle my dress, and they pinned and showed me all the options before I decided just to cut off the train altogether. Alexia Gavela Bridal made an experience, that could have been full of stress and anxiety, a great one to remember!

Spain and they customized the dress so that it was exactly they way I wanted it - and there was very little additional cost! The staff at Alexia Gavela is helpful and they truly want you to feel beautiful in your gown. Their seamstress is also the best and did a fantastic job with my alterations.

a friend to Alexia Gavela Bridal who had the same type of alteration done to her dress as I wanted which is a sweetheart neckline. Now my friend had a nightmare of a story because she had 3 other places work on her dress and screw it up. However, Alexia Gavela came to the rescue and fixed her dress! Thank God! After hearing her story I knew I needed to go straight to them. They fit my dress perfectly. The woman who does the alterations doesn't speak English very well yet we communicated without a problem and her work came out perfectly. They also took in the sweetheart a little a time to make sure it didn't get too low.

d applying it to finding the perfect dress. Geri and Malory work seamlessly as a team and were so flexible. When I found the right dress, they worked with the designer to make it perfect. Changing the color, the back, neckline and even removing the beading to make it exactly what I wanted. When making so many changes to a dress there is a lot of axiety around it. Malory and Geri offered suggestions and critics to make sure the changes worked well together and really complimented the tone of the wedding. Right down to the 3 button bustle to axcentuate the lace. When it comes to service and making the process as easy as possible, these guys are the best! I purchased my flower girl dresses from another store (5) and the kids where arriving in the states just days before the wedding. Being unsure of the alterations which would be needed, Geri was sure to arrange staff to be on hand to assist. Luckily only 1 dress needed altering and 4 pressing- but he turned it around in just one day. He really took everything from a "how can I help" perpective, even things that were really not his problem to deal with. I cannot express my satisfaction enough. Many thanks to Geri and Malory, you really did make my wedding dress experience awesome. TIP: If you have miliary family let them know for a discount with miliary ID!

days before to confirm (they emailed back- assuring me everything would be ready). On the day of my bridal photos, I arrived to pick up my dress, and they said it would be ready shortly. I ended up being over 45 minutes late to my bridal photo shoot, after hearing every excuse in the book- Geri was out of town, our steamer is broken, etc etc... it turns out they hadn't finished sewing the hem of my gown and were frantically hand stitching it in the back room! Needless to say, the hem looked terrible (thank God for photo shop). They didn't offer to pay for my time wasted at the photo shoot (again, I lost 45 minutes of a 2 hour block, which I had paid $85 for at Laguna Gloria). When it comes down to it, I am thankful this happened on my "trial run" day, but I would have preferred it not happen at all. If you choose to buy a gown from here, only trust Geri and none of the other staff.

The staff is very friendly and even cleaned and pressed my dress twice for free (once for my bridals and then again for the actual wedding.)

in the next month. I did not actually see my dress until 2 weeks before my wedding. They said it was stuck in customs. I realize the delay was probably not there fault, but they did not communicate with me. They did however get my dress altered and to me in time for my wedding.

e only dress I tried on there but had been to 3 other dress stores that day and was pretty discouraged by the time I made it to Alexia Gavela. This place is amazing! I highly recommend checking them out!!

but I changed the accessories, and it was perfect. The dress had a tacky applique that I asked to have removed, but I never got the applique back. Instead, one of the owners tried to sell me the applique that came with my dress as an add-on. Ridiculous. I also never received the straps that came with the dress. Further, the alterations were truly horrific. I had the dress bustled, but it was done so poorly that it left penny to quarter sized knots of thread on the outer layer of fabric and highly visible in a row where the bustle ribbons were sewn on and snags across the back where the seamstress was too incompetent or lazy to check to make sure her thread and needle weren't catching extra fabric. I would never have let them touch the dress had I know what poor work the seamstresses did. I also had to pay for alterations with a cash or check only which seems really shady. I do not think a reputable alterations person or bridal shop would require a check made out to an individual rather than the company. OH! It gets better! My belt cost over $200, and it was the store sample! They didn't even give me a discount because they weren't able to get me a new one. And the veils were priced way too high for the quality. I feel like I had to do all the work by choosing my own veil and styling the dress myself. I kind of expected more help with that, but I guess I was wrong! Luckily, my dress was beautiful after I had the alterations fixed by another company and changed the styling. You can probably find a dress there, but don't trust the staff or their alterations people!

my accessories from here too. I was extremely happy with my last minute custom veil they were able to get me. The only negative comment I have is that after alterations, the sash on my dress started coming apart. Unfortunately I didn't notice until my wedding day, but I have no doubt they would have fixed it ASAP had I noticed in time.

He added a few things and made a few suggestions as to how we could custom order it just like I wanted - and it was perfect. I'm telling you - I am not the crying type, but this one the one thing during the planning process that I was so overjoyed to finally find...I totally broke down. It's so nice to have someone listen and actually hear what you are saying to them, and be able to share in your vision. That's Geri! He's fantastic, and so is the rest of his team. My alterations were flawless & the dress was beautiful!

a bridesmaid dress for a friends wedding that was a few weeks before mine.

I tried on a few others just to be sure, but that was "The One". It ended up being the BEST price of all 47 dresses I tried on! On top of that I had a coupon from my wedding planner at 36th Street Events and got a discount. Because I paid for my dress in full, Geri gave me an amazing deal on my veil too! My alterations were done perfectly in exactly the time I was promised. I got my dress a little dirty on my bridal shoot and it was returned to me in perfect condition. My wedding dress was a HUGE hit with friends and family! It photographed beautifully and everyone commented all night about what a gorgeous gown I'd found! People still talk about it! :)

a strange crease in the middle we could not get out and the seamstress altered my dress over and over without complaining. She added boning, re did the fabric and on and on. After the 4th time, the dress fit perfectly and we were both jumping around the fitting area, she was just as excited as me. All this for no extra cost and no complaints from the staff. They store your dress for free and press it for your portraits and for the wedding. They are amazing people and have a great selection of dresses. Even if you find a dress somewhere else, they can order it for you so you still get their great service.

ther salons, we ended up back at Alexia Gavela. Geri was easy to work with and he had great ideas on ways to make my dress and overall look unique to me. His gowns are reasonably price and his service is outstanding. After I choose my gown, I did three fitting in the months leading up to the wedding to make sure my dress fit perfectly. Geri pressed my gown before my bridal portraits, stored it after the portraits until the wedding, pressed it again, dyed my shoes to match my gown, and then shipped my gown off to be perserved after the wedding. I didn't have to worry about anything because Geri took care of all of it. After I choose my gown, I ended up sending my cousin and two of my sorority sisters to Alexia Gavela. They all ended up purchasing their gowns from Geri. I was incredibly happy with Geri and everyone at Alexia Gavela. I would definitely recommend this salon to any bride looking for a salon that has outstanding service and that really cares about each and everyone of their customers.

not only did I have to find my second dress in one day, I needed something that I could buy off of the rack (with no imperfections) and that I didn't need to get alterations for... I came to Alexia Gavela and got the best treatment. Not only were the selections AMAZING, the staff made me feel like I was the most important customer. I tried on tons of dresses and got honest opinions from the staff. Geri was amazing and helped me find the perfect dress for me - off the rack, needing only to be hemmed at the bottom. And the amazing thing about this place is the prices - you get so much for your money. I HIGHLY recommend this bridal salon! You WILL find a dress if you go there!
