This is a review for Element Photography, a.k.a. Alexis Gloria photography.
Lexi was pretty good about staying in contact with us up until the wedding. Everything seemed to be on track. Even the day of went well overall other than her being rude to a few of my family members. She asked for my parents to take a photo with me – I have a stepfather as well – and she said “No, only the REAL parents.”I did not hear this myself, but my matron of honor did and later told me. Lexi made several comments throughout the day that were over-the-top in attitude. Overall, we enjoyed her that day, & understand it was a struggle with taking photos in several areas during a hot, busy weekend.
I asked how long the turnaround time was on photos. My father and husband also heard her confidently say 1 month. We were very excited about this. Fast forward a month after the wedding. I reached out to her with a friendly text asking how the editing was going and if the pictures would be available soon. She had an attitude over text and stated that the turnaround time was 6-8 weeks and that she was not late because of this. I reminded her that she had told me initially it was a month, but that I understood that things take time and life happens, and said I would wait the 6 to 8 weeks. Sidenote – I tried to pull up the contract I had signed months ago, and the link did not work and said the page no longer existed. Interesting…
I was put off by her attitude and unprofessional way she texted me but did not want to rock the boat considering we did not have any pictures in hand. She also posted a picture from our wedding on her Instagram with a pointed post about how she is a mom first and that she doesn’t have time to always do her job…though she continued to post several new photo shoots every week and would show little snippets of her editing other peoples photos throughout this time.
Fast forward, it’s now been almost 10 weeks. I reach out to her again. She was much nicer this time and stated she would have them done by the end of the week. She let me know that she uploaded the pictures a couple days later. My husband and I were very excited to check them out. We went through the photos and they were very poorly edited. A lot of the pictures were the same with slightly different color variation. She would very crudely crop around my husband and I and change the background and foreground colors/tones so they looked very odd. I could’ve edited these photos in an afternoon, nonetheless 10 weeks, and done a better job. She also neglected to upload about half of our pictures, including first looks with my dad and husband, and the shots we had together as a family. I reached out to her and asked if she would get us the photos. She gave a vague excuse, and said she would look into it asap. My guess is that she thought I wouldn’t notice, or was not yet done editing the photos, and was buying time. I ended up trying to text/call her that evening. I decided to try to kiss her butt in hopes to get these pictures. Later that night, she did upload some of the first look pics. I looked through the whole gallery again, and there was still no family pics. I texted AGAIN asking for them. She responded the next morning saying that they were already there and I must’ve missed them..I didn’t. But they were there now. Overall, it was a very difficult experience with her and I would not recommend her services. She’s unprofessional, rude, and lacks time management and people skills.
Hey brides! Just giving a heads up for anyone looking to book with Element Photography (Lexi Gloria) it has been nothing but a headache working with her which is really unfortunate because we liked our initial conversation with her (despite her telling us from the getgo about negative reviews online which should’ve been a red flag lol). She showed up the day of to shoot my wedding in yoga pants, a sloppy wrinkly top and looking like she just rolled out of bed, not very professional in my opinion. Over two months later (and past her time frame in the signed contract) no pictures, she’s even said to me the gallery is done but she refused to send them “not one second before” a random due by date she gave me. The day of she chewed my ear off while waiting to walk down the aisle, while I was paying her to take photos, about her children and personal issues including her mental health disorders and how she lost her job and bad mouthed past clients for “only tipping $20.” It was all just very unprofessional. Four weeks after my wedding she sent me an invoice without any context with unapproved or previously discussed charges. Every time I’ve tried to question something she failed to do she responds that I must have misunderstood and I’m “treating her badly.” Even when copy and pasting from her contract she tried to talk in circles around it and prolong delivering photos or trying to scam more money out of me. We finally got the photos and many shots were missing of people/groups important to us, kinda hard now to feel like that was intentional. Many of the “final” photos my husband’s eyes are closed or someone is making a weird face. Beware who you book with. She really turned this into a sour experience so I’d hate for any other brides to have such a negative experience too.
Alexis was our wedding photographer in Fort Worth and simply the kindest most patient person. We had my husband family from overseas and myself and it was chaos but so much fun! The photos she got of us were breathtaking. For the budget we had she worked with us on so many levels. I highly recommend her & wish her the best!
We love Alexis! She had to deal and try to wrangle my husband and his brother (a challenge in itself) and it was unbelievably hot out! We loved our engagement pictures she did, and we are very excited to see the rest of our wedding photos! We got beautiful pictures on the golf course right before the rain! We would recommend Alexis to anyone!
