We got married last Saturday on Peaks Island and one of the best decisions we made during the process was hiring Alice and Chris. After my initial phone conversation with Alice I knew I wanted to hire them. She listened to every thing I had to say without talking over me (unlike most photographers I talked with) while also giving her advice and informing me on their style. We didn't want to do a first look period and a lot of photographers tried to talk us into one but Alice just said she loves shooting both ways. They were both so easy to work with from the beginning and made us feel relaxed the whole time even in front of the camera. I also want to point out our wedding day weather went from sunny to cloudy with a little rain to straight fog and every single picture turned out gorgeous. You know they have incredible talent when they can make any weather turn out perfect. I cannot recommend them enough! We got our sneak peek pictures Tuesday and I haven't stopped looking at them. My husband and I decided to elope in Portland. We had a very small ceremony and hired Alice for a one hour photo session, with photos taken during the ceremony and afterwards of the two of us and our two wedding guests. Alice was an amazing photographer and we are so glad we hired her. Everyone who has seen the photos compliments how beautiful they turned out. She provided many more photos than she originally estimated for the one hour session, and every one of them turned out great. I would highly recommend Alice to anyone!

Alice + Chris were absolutely amazing from the very beginning! They always responded right away when emailing leading up to the wedding. They also met with us twice. We had identified several outdoor locations for photographs but unfortunately it rained on our special day. I woke up the morning of our wedding very bummed that we couldn't take pictures outside. But I instantly felt confident in our photographers and knew they would do an incredible job inside or outside! I was nervous about the pictures but Alice arrived and immediately put me at ease. Brad and I were blown away by how much Alice + Chris captured every moment of our special day. Our guest had the sweetest things to say about them as well! Commenting on how kind and friendly they were throughout the evening. We are thrilled that they captured so many wonderful photographs of our closest family & friends. Alice + Chris are the most genuine and sincere people in the business. They were beyond professional during the whole day. Alice and Chris were absolutely amazing, and we could not be happier or feel more fortunate to have worked with them for our wedding and all the days leading up to it. We immediately clicked with Alice and Chris when we first were in touch, and were so impressed right away at how well they understood, listened, and deeply cared about the style and vision we were looking for with our North Yarmouth, ME wedding at The Barn on Walnut Hill. We got to know Alice and Chris at various points throughout the planning process, and they could not have been more helpful, thoughtful, talented, and professional. We did our engagement photos with them on a bitter cold January day in Portland, Maine, and are so grateful to have those amazing photos of us together and the scenic snowy landscape in the background. Further, they made us feel completely comfortable with the whole process of getting your photo taken, and we knew even more than before that we were in good hands! Through Alice and Chris's website and galleries of previous work, after seeing our engagement shots, and having developed complete trust in their work and our relationship with them, we were certain we'd love our wedding photos well before our Big Day and having one less thing to worry about during the (often stressful) planning process was amazing. Yet somehow, Alice and Chris exceeded our high expectations when we saw the finished result with our gallery of photos from both our wedding day, and the rehearsal dinner/welcome party the evening before, which they also captured. Among the dozens and dozens of shots, there isn't one that didn't make me smile and feel full of happiness remembering our amazing wedding and weekend celebration. The shots of the two of us completely took us back to that feeling we felt on our wedding day, total joy and happiness, and their pictures of family members celebrating with one another captured the mood, emotions, and fun party that surrounded us. In our first conversations with Alice and Chris, we had mentioned how we wanted our pictures to capture the feel of the wedding and reception and special moments among grandparents, parents, our closest friends and combined families--as well as the backdrop of the Barn on Walnut Hill. To us, this was just as important as photos of the two of us as bride and groom. They delivered just that, and then some. Their work completely blew us away. There are photos that brought tears to my eyes and so many I know we'll cherish forever, and we're just so lucky to have had the good fortune to have worked with Alice and Chris and to have the intangible gift they provided with their photographs. Furthermore, we couldn't have asked for more fun, thoughtful, wonderful people to get to know during our engagement, and to be a part of such an important days in our lives. Alice and Chris are phenomenally talented photographers, and we're equally grateful to know them as the fantastic people they are. If I could give 6 stars, I would!!

Absolutely amazing couple to work with! Alice and Chris from day one were incredible, communicable and beyond helpful. If you are looking for quite possibly the best photographers in the Southern Maine area, look no further. These two are spectacular and who you want capturing all the moments of your special day.

As is the case for many people, photography was the main thing (apart from the venue) that we really wanted to make sure we got right. After tons of research and narrowing it down to 2-3 photographers to interview, we finally decided on Alice + Chris and I am so glad we did! Not only am I in love with our photos, but Alice and Chris were so wonderful to work with. Our venue (Point Lookout in Northport, ME) was not somewhere they had previously worked, so they took the time to visit the venue (2 hours from their home!) to scout some good locations for photos. I am so happy they did, because they found some spots that I didn't know existed on the property but made for great pictures. Since we didn't do engagement photos and we had hired them from out of town (we had only "met" via Skype), I was hoping to meet them in person in advance of the wedding, which they readily accommodated. Not that I had needed to worry about not having met them, as they are so easy-going and friendly that I felt immediately comfortable. On the day of the wedding, they made the photo-taking process so easy and painless. They wrangled the children (as well as the adults) with calm, and several of our guests commented how friendly and personable they were. Plus, our photos have gotten such rave reviews from family and friends. Alice and Chris are fantastic!!

I got to know Alice when she and I worked together in New York. I've always been a huge fan of Alice and Chris' work (and a fan of them in general). When my husband and I decided to have a destination wedding in Costa Rica, I initially checked out some local wedding photogs there, thinking there was no way Alice and Chris would be able to make the trip. After hearing estimates from a few photographers - I was discouraged. Either they had a style I wasn't too keen on or they were charging what I felt was an exorbitant amount for a short time period. I decided to reach out to Alice on a whim - and to my joy - she said that she and Chris would be willing/able to come to our wedding. When you hire this amazing duo, not only are you getting world-class, technically supreme photographs, you get the joy of spending your special day with two incredible, sweet, caring and fun people. They captured not only pictures from the day, they were able to document the incredible spirit of our wedding - something that was much more important to us than just the standard, posed wedding photos. I cannot recommend these two highly enough for their professionalism, expertise and affordability. They're two shining stars!

My wife and I went back and forth a lot on photography in our early planning stages- we were trying to keep costs down as much as possible. In the end, we decided to go with professionals, and boy did we get them. Alice & Chris were willing to work with us on how much time we needed, at our price point, which was great, because we were so impressed with their samples. We loved their eagerness to put examples of non-traditional weddings up on their site, and the quality was obvious. They met with us beforehand to make a plan, and made us feel totally comfortable about the process, even though we were planning the wedding from halfway across the country. On the day of, they were efficient and professional, but even more important, very warm and friendly with everyone- I think they had every wedding party member's name down in the first two minutes! They embraced the challenges of an outdoor wedding at a rural campground, and really captured why we wanted to get married in this wild, beautiful place. That meant a whole lot of moving around between sites, and shooting on rocks and cliffs, but they were game for anything. The results were incredible. In just a few weeks, we had a huge selection of beautiful photos available, with every moment we wanted to see again, and plenty of moments we didn't get to see that day! Their website makes it easy and affordable to order prints, and high quality digital downloads are available as well. Their work was fantastic, but the great communication and overall friendliness throughout the whole process was what really made our experience with Alice & Chris so perfect. We would recommend them to anyone.

We are so thankful to Alice and Chris for sharing our day. We were relaxed in their presence from the moment they arrived. It was a warm day and they took care to make sure no one spent to much time in the sun. I never imagined we would laugh as much as we did while posing for photos with our wedding party. They made everyone feel comfortable. At times they were front and center and there were other moments we forgot they were there. Our pictures are incredible. Our wedding photos were shot by Alice and she was an absolute pleasure. We had a very private ceremony and reception with just family and a few close friends. On one hand, I was really worried about having a photographer that kind of got in the way or was too 'visible.' On the other hand, I was nervous about not getting enough pictures. Somehow Alice managed to strike the perfect balance for us as a couple. She got all the important parts of the day and really became a part of our small celebration. We had both inside and outside shots and both black and white and color and I adore them all. I am so thankful to have those memories to look back on for a lifetime and I thank her so much.

My husband and I absolutely loved Alice and Chris Photography! We always say to each other, it's the small things, the little details, that make the difference. If that's the case, then Alice and Chris nailed it! They were absolutely remarkable every step of of the way. They were very organized and prepared for our special day from the start. They showed great enthusiasm about our wedding and were able to meet with us several times before the wedding to make sure they met our needs. When the day came, they were even more amazing than we imagined! They captured the day so well we didn't even miss having a videographer! We did some beautiful poses, taking advantage of our beautiful surroundings, but what I loved most about them was their ability to capture the special moments throughout the day. When we look back at our photos, we're reminded of all the special people we spent our day with. Now, we'll be able to remember those special moments forever. We're still in contact with our photographers and their love and support has been wonderful! Not to mention, they only took 3 weeks to get ALL 700+ photos to us! My husband and I had the pleasure of being among Alice + Chris's earliest wedding clients over 7 years ago. We were beyond thrilled with the process and the results. Hiring Alice and Chris to capture our wedding and separate reception was one of the best decisions we made in our whole wedding planning process, hands down. From the moment we met them, my now-wife and I connected with their incredible friendliness and energy. From the moment we saw our pictures, we were blown away. Alice + Chris are a lovely couple and great photographers! Very professional, very calm demeanor (on what can be a very stressful day) and great with kids! They kept us feeling at ease when we had to abandon our original plan for outdoor photos when it rained. Their style is very relaxed and they prefer to capture more candid shots over posed photos, which is what we were interested in. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.
