She's clearly very experienced and proactively worked with our planner to come up with a photography schedule for the day. She also offered to scope out our venue in advance to find good photography spots. We got our photos back in both cases within her estimate windows and everything was delivered digitally with no issues. The pictures have such life to them and I know we will cherish them forever.

there, I felt a sense of relief. Seeing how unphased she was by how late we were/power outage/etc, made me calm down. She very subtly but efficiently steered us back on track all while making conversation about the big day. The effect was that I went from feeling totally out of whack, back to feeling calm and actually enjoying/savoring the moment. I had also left my watch in the room, and she said not to worry, she had it all under control. Both myself and my almost husband were feeling stiff and nervous about the portraits, but again, she was amazing at helping us get out of our heads. She has a way of being both very professional and on top of/driving the situation, while at the same time projecting such a calm and unimposing presence so everyone can be comfortable. Okay, so the photos themselves. They are AMAZING. We just got them back today! (4 weeks turnaround!) I had told Alison I really wanted a lot of candid photos of our family and friends. If you also want this, SHE IS THE BEST! I am so grateful to her. As everyone on Yelp has said, what Alison does best is capture the candid emotions of everyone: joy/affection/sentimentality/laughter etc. It's really corny, but when I looked through the photos just now, I could really feel the warmth of the day. Alison caught the look of sentimentality on my aunt's face during the vows, and my friend's mom's face during the speeches, and my cousin with her little confidence pose on the dance floor, and so many laughing photos, and my mom leaning in to my dad because he said something sweet, and so many warm looks between relatives, etc, etc, etc. The photos really capture what it felt like to be there that day. You should definitely hire Alison for the photos. However, the cherry on top, is how professional she is. Her system for delivering the photos is really convenient. You can even download them all directly to your google photos! Her payment system is way better/more modern than most vendors. She is super helpful and on top of helping you plan out what you want, suggesting a portrait list, etc. With some vendors you can feel they have a lot on their plate, and you have to catch them up on your details every time you discuss something (which is fine, by the way, this is a crazy busy wedding season). However, Alison is not like that. We had so many moving parts, and I did worry a lot about things falling through the cracks, but I never worried about Alison. In the lead up to the wedding she was so on top of things and organized that I just never had to waste any stress on the photography. She was one of the few vendors where I felt she knew her part of the wedding better than I did. That was a relief. I could rely on her completely vs feeling like I needed to help her. (That sounds obvious, but with some vendors I did feel I needed to remember things to show them, etc. Not with her.) Finally, on the day of, she just brings a ton of wedding day experience so she can adapt on the fly to make sure you get the shots you want while still having the day flow well.

Alison had great ideas for the locations we chose and was able to direct us, which was a relief because my husband and I are not super comfortable in front of the camera. I love their photo-journalistic styles and the photos turned out amazing. They captured fun, intimate moments that we can now look back on through these beautiful photos.
