Alissa Joy Makeup Artistry

ly’s makeup all turned out absolutely perfect, and they were so nice and fun to chat with while we were in the makeup chair. They arrived perfectly on time, they stayed perfectly in sync with the schedule they gave me, and they even finished early and had time to do any needed touch ups. 10/10

out—and she absolutely exceeded my expectations. She made me look and feel incredible on my wedding day. The makeup was flawless, photographed beautifully, and lasted all night without ever feeling heavy or overdone. Beyond being so talented, Alissa was also an absolute joy to work with—so kind, calm, and flexible throughout the entire process. She really listened to what I wanted and nailed the look perfectly. The second artist she brought for my bridal party matched her style exactly, and everyone looked stunning and cohesive. If you’re looking for someone who’s both professional and genuinely lovely (and who can make even the pickiest bride feel amazing!), I can’t recommend Alissa enough. She’s truly the best!

red touch ups right before ceremony. She knows her stuff!

. From start to finish, Alissa makes you feel completely comfortable and confident. She truly has a gift for bringing out your most beautiful, authentic self. She is professional, attentive, and responsive. I clicked with Alissa almost immediately during my trial and couldn’t wait to work with her again on my wedding day. She listened to exactly what I wanted and somehow made it even better than I imagined 🥹 And let me tell you, the makeup did NOT budge!!! I’m not kidding, it isn’t going anywhere! Through happy tears, hugs, dancing, and hours of celebrating, every single one of us still looked flawless at the end of the night. My bridesmaids and I received endless compliments all day long, and our makeup lasted perfectly through every moment. Alissa isn’t just a vendor, she becomes part of your wedding experience in the best possible way!! Do yourself a favor and book Alissa! You will not regret it for a second. She’s simply the best!🤍

l inquiry, through the trial and wedding day itself was top notch - fast, clear, organized and always so sweet! During the trial, Alissa was so easy to talk to and get along with and made me feel super comfortable right away. While we were getting ready the morning of the wedding, all 7 of my bridesmaids and my mom had super positive things to say about Alissa and her assistant! The vibes were so fun and every single girl looked so beautiful and felt so confident. Everyone was able to stay true to their own personal style, too, which doesn't always happen with a bigger bridesmaid group! There were a few changes I ended up making from the trial to wedding day, but again, Alissa made me feel so comfortable when asking for those changes and she killed it!! My bridal glam turned out flawless and lasted all night long, through tears, dancing, sweating, eating - all of it!! I can't recommend Alissa and her team enough!!

not wait to see all my girls and my mom done up looking just gorgeous and it turned out better than I could have imagined! Some girls had never gotten their makeup done before and were very nervous, but each girl mentioned how much they loved their looks and how fun and easy Alissa and her assistant made it! Highly recommend to anyone in the Virginia area!

saw how she so perfectly enhances her client's natural beauty, I knew I had to book her. BEST DECISION EVER! My bridal trial was so fun that my mom wanted a trial too. She was so patient with us both as we expressed our desires for wedding day makeup. I am so thankful that Alissa was apart of my wedding day, not only because of her amazing makeup skills, but she is also so fun and so kind. She was constantly assessing my needs and meeting them, whether that was turning the fan towards me or encouraging me to drink water. I just LOVE her as a person! My makeup was everything I wanted it to be! My entire wedding was outdoors and it absolutely poured rain after the ceremony and my makeup held up SO WELL! I had multiple people tell me how impressed they were that my makeup looked no different from the beginning of the ceremony to the end of the night. Any makeup artist that can perfect makeup staying on in pouring rain and 90 degree weather deserves all the praise! My grandmother also had a terrible fall the week of the wedding resulting in her entire face being black and blue. Alissa did my grandmothers makeup even though she was not originally on the list, which speaks so perfectly of her compassionate character. Alissa perfectly covered up the bruising and allowed my grandmother to feel beautiful. Alissa continues to be a friend since my wedding. I reached out to her for makeup products recommendations and she was so excited to guide me to the best products. I cannot recommend her enough. I'm so thankful for the joy she brought to my wedding day and the friendship I have built with her since I booked her.

their time with her and looked absolutely stunning! We had a variety of skin-tones and textures, and she nailed every look. 10/10 recommend

d an incredibly uplifting environment that made me as a bride feel truly special. She was consistently organized and communicated all services and payment details clearly, which made the process stress-free. On the wedding day, Alissa and her assistant, Brooke, were simply fantastic! They made myself and all six bridesmaids, plus two mothers, feel absolutely beautiful. They completed everyone's makeup in a timely manner, all while keeping the atmosphere light and fun. They also offered touch-ups and truly worked magic, bringing our inspiration photos to life perfectly. We highly recommend Alissa Joy for your wedding makeup! Jessica Bailey (COF, May 2025)

friendly, and so so so knowledgeable. She took my fear of makeup and turned it into awe. She enhanced every feature I love about myself and dimmed down things that I wasn’t as confident about. She was honest about expectations and her Instagram page made it easy for my bridesmaids to know exactly what they wanted to request. She did 13 people the day of my wedding and she brought a team of artists who are just as capable and wonderful as her. I could not recommend her more. Thank you, Alissa. I felt wholly beautiful on my wedding day because of you.

easy to work with and talk to. They made my day even better than I had hoped for!

r a minute that my makeup moved throughout the day (it was 90 and humid and I still wasn’t worried!!). My girls and my mom also looked amazing and each girl felt beautiful too. Alissa is also so easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable if you are overwhelmed. If you don’t book her, you are missing out!!!

keup, and I was so appreciative that she was willing to travel. I wanted full glam for my wedding, and Alissa did an amazing job asking me all of the right questions during our consultation/preview to make sure that I really wanted glam. She really listens to what you want and DELIVERS! The way she applied my lash extensions was magical - I did not feel them at all the entire night. In fact, I wanted to keep them on longer because they were comfortable! I truly cannot praise Alissa enough, she is top class for makeup artists. Keishla assisted as the second MUA that day, and she made my bridesmaids and mothers look so magical and flawless. Everyone’s makeup lasted through a humid day, and an entire night of dancing! I could not have asked for a better MUA and her team. You need to book Alissa today!!

Simple, when I say my makeup did not move through the ultimate test I mean it because I got married in a completely unexpected down pour! I’m talking kissing in the rain scene of “Sweet Home Alabama” and not coming back up the aisle with my mascara looking like battle war paint and my bridal day glow still in tack which continued to last the entire night. She matches all the energy and love you want in your vendor. She is extremely knowledgeable, cares and listens and wants you to look how you feel. She also has amazing connections so don’t worry if she tells you need an extra artist. She has you! She will make sure your vision comes to life whatever that looks like while also providing excellent suggestions based off her experience.

ir makeup looks as well. I did a bridal trial a few months before which I would also recommend. We made a few minor changes from the trial to the wedding day, which Alissa executed with excellence. The team was very flexible and creative while making sure that everyone got their makeup done and felt like themselves. Thank you Alissa for helping to illuminate my inner star on my wedding day!! 10/10

edding day with Alissa. I am not someone that normally wears a ton of makeup and she did an amazing job making me LOOK and FEEL natural, but beautiful on my wedding day. I truly loved my makeup and my bridesmaids (and my mom) all felt the same way. Even the bridesmaids that decided to do their own makeup were regretting it! On top of all of that, Alissa brings such a calming presence, professionalism and fun sense of humor to the day. I literally could not recommend Alissa more!

ment and she handled that professionally and confidently. I felt she was fairly priced compared to other makeup artists in the area. I definitely recommend her to future brides!

s a breeze! She calmed all of my nerves and kept us laughing the entire time. Highly recommend Alissa! (For us, pricing was for - bridal preview, bridal makeup, and 8 others.)

ly memorable, but stress-free and a morning I'll remember and cherish for the rest of my life. Beyond that, her ability to work with my hooded eyes to give me the dramatic look of my dreams was truly a 10/10. All of my girls who got ready with me also could not get over how great their looks each turned out as well!

showed her a few pictures and described my vision, we combined the elements I liked best with her expertise and came up with the perfect look! When she did my makeup on my wedding day, it felt like I was hanging out with a friend. She was so positive and considerate and helped ease my wedding day stress. Thanks to Alissa, I felt the most beautiful and confident on my wedding day. I know my wedding party loved their glam, too!

make up artist, she was prompt, organized, responsive, and genuinely fun to be around. I did a bridal makeup trial before my wedding day, and it was so helpful to see her skill and my vision merge. It made getting ready day of stress free knowing I was safe in her hands and our mutual vision. I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day, and I credit Alissa for helping to give me that feeling. Seriously, if you haven't reached out to her yet, you are missing out. She books out early, don't wait. You will not regret it.

erything I was saying. While makeup artists aren’t plastic surgeons or magicians, she was able to make me look drop dead gorgeous and feel confident, sexy, and comfortable! She also provided a tiny packet for later that night so my makeup stayed looking amazing. Overall, I’m a happy customer and would hire her again for another event.

ay I looked! My makeup stayed on so well and was one of my favorite parts of the day because I was so comfortable with how it looked!

e so much needed confidence to walk down the aisle in front of everyone (a phobia of mine - having everyone stare at me). She not only transformed my appearance and brought out my own outer beauty, but helped bring out my inner beauty too. Alissa is such a warm, friendly, funny yet calming and reassuring soul. She is like having your BFF you have known for years doing your makeup but balances that with professionalism, expertise, and flawless execution of some of the best makeup artistry I have ever seen. She "reads" each client by both listening to their ideas for what they want to look like during the consult, while advising each client on what will look best to fit the client's vision. She anticipates what they want and need. She takes you through every step of the way and is so attentive to each client's needs - whether you wear makeup everyday or this is your first time getting dolled-up for an event. Quite honestly, she does SO MUCH MORE than just makeup - she transforms each client inside and out - it is extraordinary to experience and watch. She did my entire bridal party and female family members (all ages). Each woman was SO pleased with Alissa and her team's excellent work and greatly enjoyed the experience. They all stood taller and smiled brighter when they hopped out of "the chair." Alissa even recommended a local spray tan guru, Urban Cowgirl in Lynchburg, VA (shout out to them!) who did a flawless job getting my skin on-point for my wedding (no streaks, no orange, warm, friendly, and fun... perfect!). Anyways, I have had my makeup done several times before and this experience and Alissa's expertise and personality blew them all out of the water in a huge way. This is a wedding vendor that I will use in the future for photo sessions and special occasions - she will be my go to MUA from now on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Alissa (and team!)

l, even making subtle changes on the day-of to improve the final look! Not only was I thrilled with my makeup, but it didn’t budge all night. Even after we ran around in the pouring rain for over an hour on our wedding day, my makeup still looked incredible at the end of the night. I really can’t recommend Alissa enough!

work. I felt my absolute best on my wedding day & would use her 1000 times over.

see what the bridal makeup would look like on before the big day! She is amazing at time management and completed my bridal makeup as well as the bridal parties looks with time to spare. She was so kind to everyone and enjoyable and easy to work with! I love her and would highly recommend. -Katie Ritz 2024 Bride

e!

e night before, since we had also hired Alissa to do makeup for rehearsal dinner, which I highly recommend. She was so fun, yet calming and easy to talk to. I had a fear of false lashes but no more, because of Alissa's expertise. Thank you for everything!

ho you are spending your wedding day with while you get your hair or make up done, and Alissa was kind, funny, and professional throughout the day. I loved working with her, and I would highly recommend booking her for your next wedding or event!

cess. Would highly reccomend her!

uly never felt more beautiful. Not only is she good at her job, she also has a great personality. Conversing with her in the chair really helped calm my wedding day jitters. 5 stars just aren’t enough!

n the suite!

oughout the process to make sure you’re comfortable and feeling pampered. One of my favorite features of myself are my freckles across the bridge of my nose, so when I told her that, she immediately agreed and helped to make sure they showed through the foundation so I could still have my favorite features shining through. I was nervous to have my makeup professionally done because I hadn’t ever had it done before, but she turned me into the most confident version of myself. I loved how I looked and the makeup lasted through SO MANY tears of happiness during the ceremony - super impressive! She does a great job keeping it natural and minimal for those who want it (like my mom and MIL) and does a fantastic job glamming it up for people who want it (like me). Not only is she an incredible makeup artist, but she’s also an incredible person who is full of kindness and enjoys personally connecting with her clients! Getting my makeup done was one of my favorite parts of my wedding day because I had a second to breathe, get pampered, and felt like I was catching up with an old friend of mine - highly recommend Alissa!

think of to make sure I am getting exactly what I’m wanting. Wedding day comes and it was even better than I remembered. She blew it out of the park!! Oh, and no matter how many tears come, it ain’t smudging! She also made my grandmother feel amazing with her makeup! 110% recommend Alissa!!

wedding day and helped me enjoy the morning as I was getting ready! Her talent is incredible, I don't have much make up knowledge but she understood exactly what I wanted and create the most perfect wedding day look that went beyond what I could have imagined. I knew I was going to be an emotional bride and cried happy tears countless times during the day, and my make up lasted the entire night! She provides you with the cutest touch up kit but I hardly needed anything because her make up was done so well. To make it better, she is also just an incredibly sweet, funny, and relaxing individual to help make sure your wedding morning goes smoothly! I cannot recommend Alissa enough, she is the best!

d paid attention to every detail! She made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day!

ids went for a softer glam- Alissa did such an amazing job I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

ally good, my bridesmaids approved, and luckily she was available to travel to our Smith Mountain Lake wedding. For my trial, I came in with a vision, without even showing her pictures I feel like she nailed it. After wearing the makeup for the day I decided I was too ambitious with my initial vision (I don't usually wear a lot of makeup) so the day of the wedding I asked if we could tone it back. I could not be more happy with how my makeup turned out. Looking back at the pictures, I feel beautiful. I wish I could have Alissa do my makeup every day. My bridesmaids looked their best as well. Also, not only is Alissa great at what she does, her personality is so fun to work with. I didn't realize this when I first booked my vendors but many of them were friends with one another. Our beauty team( Makeup, Hair, and Tanning Artist) all knew one another and spoke so highly of each other which made for such a friendly and warm environment. If you're considering Alissa Joy Makeup for your event needs, go ahead and book if you want that 11/10 experience.

was more then perfect. If you are looking for someone that will make you look and feel like your most beautiful self (and someone that will hype you up!!) then Alissa is your girl. On the morning of my wedding I was SO nervous, but as soon as I sat in Alissa's chair she made me feel calmer and let me take a breath before starting and she truly made me feel ready to walk down the aisle! My make up was beyond what I could have envisioned for myself. Beyond how amazing she is at her job, when you leave your trial (or whenever you first meet her), you'll feel like she is one of your best friends - she is so sweet, kind, and fun to chat with! Alissa was a true joy to work with and will make your wedding day so amazing!

ask for anyone better. Don’t look anywhere else. You will be completely blessed by Alissa and her amazing gifting to create beauty for such a special occasion!

e absolutely nailed the look I was going for! My bridesmaids have not stopped raving about her. It rained during our ceremony so me and my bridesmaids got drenched and our makeup did not move, it was wild! Alissa is the sweetest and beyond talented you can not go wrong with her!

the most flawless spray tan:) I have a lot of acne and I am usually very insecure about my skin but Alissa made me feel so confident and beautiful on my wedding day. I highly suggest using Alissa for your big day!!! ♥️
