My husband and I got engaged in February, just as lockdowns were happening, and our wedding plans gradually scaled down from a traditional wedding to a just-us ceremony. Alix worked with us to plan a flexible ceremony schedule structured around stunning Oregon coast backdrops and unpredictable December weather. She didn’t batt an eye when we adjusted locations the day of our vows to take advantage of the perfect weather. And on that day, it was me, my husband, and Alix. For such an intimate life moment, you really need to trust and vibe with your photographer, and Alix was amazing. She zipped my dress, adjusted my hair, warned us about incoming waves, and captured our happiness. That’s the best part about Alix’s work and about that day: we didn’t feel posed or awkward (even though we’re not used to being in front of a camera), we had fun and laughed and frolicked, and she captured it all. Our photos are stunning, they get compliments all the time, but above all I *feel* our joy when I look at them, and to Alix we’ll always be grateful. We can’t wait to work with her again.

our engagement/wedding photos...her work is breathtaking! After chatting with her we clicked and knew it was a good fit. Our engagement photo session with her just solidified that for us. And, when we had to cancel our April wedding due to COVID, Alix was nothing but helpful along the way. Because of her we were able to find another location that we had never heard of for our elopement photos and ended up having the best experience for our intimate ceremony/reception with her. We are counting down the days until we get our photos back as we already know that they are going to be amazing! We can’t recommend her enough.

Beach to commemorate our trip. I started researching for photographers in the area or those who could travel to Oceanside and I was immediately drawn to Alix’s portfolio, style, and aesthetic. Alix was very quick to respond to my Instagram message and make it out to Oceanside the very next day from Portland. She was very professional and warm from when we first communicated over Instagram to meeting in person. She wore a mask the entire time and it felt so natural to be around her. The experience never felt forced or unnatural because she allowed us to just be -- my husband and I were able to enjoy every moment with each other while Alix gave us little pointers here and there and took amazing shots of us in the Oregon sunset! Alix is an excellent communicator and is very easygoing and kind. On top of all that, she is an amazing photographer. Thank you so much Alix for such a wonderful time and for capturing us during our mini moon, especially on such short notice! I highly recommend Alix and would work with her again any day!

On our wedding day, she showed up early on her own time and made sure that she captured all the parts of the day, from getting-ready photos in the mid-morning to the first dances in the evening. We got ready in an AirBnb, took first look photos in a nearby park, were married in a church and then traveled to a fourth location for our reception. Alix took it all in stride, driving the groom to the first look spot, and showing up everywhere else, happy and eager to work with everyone, even some very particular members of our extended families. We received our photos in less than two months' time and we loved them instantly. Alix's pricing is competitive for the Portland area — although she charges more than we initially wanted to spend, she was wiling to work with us to find a solution that made everyone happy. We would work with Alix again and highly recommend her to folks getting married in the Portland area (or elsewhere — she travels).

We honestly could not be happier with our photos, which is an amazing feeling! She was able to capture our day perfectly. Her style is unique, timeless, romantic and very real. We had so much fun with her on our wedding day! Her second shooter was also phenomenal, we were so impressed by the photos. Her communication was excellent, the turn around time was very fast. st wasn’t something we felt like we needed but we booked Alix for our wedding and we thought it might be a good idea so we’d get to know Alix better and so we’d feel more prepared for how photos would feel on our wedding day. We are SO happy we did. We went to the Oregon coast for our engagement photos last September and they turned out so well. We were so happy with our engagement photos we wondered how it would be possible to beat them on our wedding day. I’m not even sure which ones we like better. Both sessions went so well as far as working with Alix and beyond our wildest dreams as far as the quality of photos goes. She gave great direction for two idiots that don’t know how to be behind a camera and she I didn’t have to give her much direction as far they photos I wanted, in fact she helped ME figure that out. She was always extremely responsive when we contacted her every single time which is so important. In fact, I just contacted her for something, three months post-wedding, and she responded within minutes! After receiving both our engagement and wedding photos, each time we had a hard time picking our favorites because there were just too many! Both sets are ridiculously stunning and I feel so happy and lucky that we have so many amazing photos to remember these times in our lives. She has a great eye for photography and does absolutely incredible work! Hire Alix - you won’t regret it!

member your wedding for years to come. I knew when I saw Alix’s photographs there was something amazing about them! I originally found Alix through her work on a blog. I saw she was from Utah, and being NYC-based, I was not sure if she would make the trip. I decided to call her anyway and we had THE BEST conversation. She walked me through her process and how we wanted the day to go and I knew right then I had to work with her. She didn’t think twice about traveling out to the east coast! Everything leading up to the wedding was so easy working with Alix. She is so talented and such a down to earth person that I trusted her every step of the way. We talked some about what shots I wanted and other than that we decided that everything would be raw, and organic to truly capture the beauty and the love throughout the day. I met Alix for the first time on the morning of my wedding, which shows the amount of trust she allowed me to put in her working with her up until that day. When she showed up she got right into the group and my bridesmaids and I loved hanging out with her through the day! I don’t know how she does it but I couldn’t have asked for her to capture any more moments that she did. She photographed a 200-person wedding in a way that each photo looked like it was the most memorable thing happening in the room. I think I spent a full day reviewing my photos when I got them back. Not to mention the full day I spent looking over the beautiful album she made us. I have so many people who look at it and wish that their photographer offered something like that. They say that everyone has their own style and a way they want their photos taken on their wedding day, but somehow Alix is able to capture everything you want in exactly the way you need, whether you know it or not. x flew out to NYC for our wedding. We chose to work with her instead of a local photographer because of the quality of her work, her documentary style, and her flexibility. Alix seamlessly adjusted to the nontraditional elements of our celebration — two events, no first look, informal ceremony. She made us (camera shy people) feel like we could be ourselves. And we were able to put our complete trust in her to get the shots we wanted — she was unobtrusive, but magically there for all the right moments. The final photographs were incredible, and we got them sooner than we expected. Alix captured intimate moments, the ambience of our events, and the energy of our families perfectly.

She was so easy to work with, communicated well before, during and after the photos were taken. She was able to make us all feel comfortable, had great location ideas and poses and listened to what I specified I wanted, I could tell she really did her homework ahead of time. She even had the ability to keep my adult and teenage children under control, not an easy task I assure you. I am thankful for the privilege and honor it was having Alix do our photos and they will forever be a treasure to us. She truly is a beautiful and unique lady with an eye for art, she is a genius behind the camera. o ask. We had the day and contract sorted after only a few emails. On the wedding day, I gave her very little time for photos, and yet every photo she sent was stunning. I've never felt very photogenic, but she made me look beautiful. She knew the venue well and the best places to take the photos. In fact, when we reviewed the photos of the ceremony and reception, we kept saying, "Wow! She captured that moment too!" She was invisible during the day -- not intrusive and standing in the way -- and yet managed to capture everything important. One of the things that makes Alix so good is she is obsessed with the details. For example, my husband had his wallet in his pocket and she noticed right away, preventing us from having strange photos of him. I would strongly recommend Alix!

For me, the most important wedding planning detail was to have a great photographer, so although our wedding and reception were in Boston and Rhode Island and Alixann is based in SLC, we loved her work so much that we flew her out for the event. And we were so glad we did! Alixann is not only a skilled photographer, but she is also a very sweet & kind person who made us feel comfortable & natural in front of the camera. Almost immediately upon meeting her for our engagement photo shoot, Alixann felt like a friend, and even my husband who hates getting his picture taken was relaxed, comfortable, and natural in front of her lens. At every point in the process, from coordinating an engagement photo shoot with 2 week's notice & wedding date changes, to arranging travel to Boston & day-of logistics, Alixann was helpful, respectful, and always responsive. Of all the details I worried about in the days leading up to the wedding, I was never once worried about our photography. On the day of our wedding, Alixann was very professional and helpful, excellent at directing us into poses, but never demanding. One thing I really appreciated about Alixann was her willingness to simultaneously take charge of directing us when we needed it, but also give us some creative control of our photos. When I wanted to try taking some pictures in a pumpkin patch and sit on a dusty pumpkin in my wedding dress, Alixann was completely willing to accommodate and used her expert eye to take photos that made a pumpkin patch seem romantic! Alixann was a complete joy to work with and I cannot recommend her enough.

She kept me updated with her travel status the day of the wedding, she showed up right on time, and all my guests raved about how nice and easy to work with she was. What I loved most about working with her was that I felt she was genuinely excited about getting certain shots and capturing my husband and I in the beauty of the scenery around us. It made me feel very at ease knowing she was doing what she loved, and I had no doubt in my mind that she was capturing pictures we would love as well. She got our pictures back to us even quicker than I had anticipated in just 6 weeks, and we got our photo book just a month after that. Everything is superb quality, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer to capture the beauty of their wedding day.

and came highly recommended. Alix shot our entire wedding- engagements, bridal/groomals and the whole wedding day. Our photographer was our number one priority because it's one of the only things that will truly last forever after your wedding. I of course was hesitant about the whole engagement, groomal process and if it would be awkward and uncomfortable. Also if I would look awkward and uncomfortable- because most people do trying to look romantic and sexy. To this day, I'm still so grateful we chose Alixann and here's why: 1. She's effecient. Our engagements were set high in the mountains and we shot three locations, in three outfits (one including a hammock and the other hiking, making a fire and cooking over it) and we did all that in 1.5 hrs. I was so impressed. 2. She's direct and precise. For those of you who also feel uncomfortable in front of a camera and may wonder, "is my soft smile dashing or do I look constipated", her process will put you at ease. She consistently gave high direction about every minute detail. And what may have felt awkward in the moment, came out amazing in the photos. I never felt stupid or like we had to ask what to do- she made us look our best in every shot. Also, on wedding day with a group of almost 60 people, she ran the freskin show like a boss. Which man, did I appreciate on our wedding day. Have you ever been to a wedding where you feel bad for the photographer because the unruly crowd won't listen and you want to chime in and start directing photos? That was not the case with Alix. 3. She's skilled! Damn, this girl knows her way around a camera- her professional photographer father taught her well! Nowadays I feel like a lot of "photographers" get their look through editing photos and don't know that much about photography. Alex's photos have a level of artistry like no other, and the unedited proofs we got were almost identical to the "print ready" ones. We still have photographs from our wedding hanging in our home that DONT EVEN HAVE PEOPLE IN THEM. She not only captured my wife and I but truly the mood, environment and details of every shoot. 4. She GOT us. Alix has a truly incredible gift for channeling her clients and producing photos that really personify her clientele yet remain uniquely "Alixann". She was totally down for our out there ideas and pushed them even farther. Which is why three years later we flew back to Utah to shoot updated portraits with her. And why she'll capture our first baby. Probably all of them. And I'll eventually just pay her to come on vacation with us to shoot those as well. 5. VALUE. I still feel like we underpaid for the incredible quality that was our experiences with her. Snag her while you can! All in all- I honestly can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the ENTIRE process and to this day my wife still swoons over our wedding pics and said it was the smartest decision we've made IN OUR MARRIAGE this far.

(And I emailed her A LOT. ;)) For us, photography was one of the most important aspects of our wedding day, and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. We would use Alix again and again and again, and recommend her to any and all of our friends!

Her pricing was a little on the high side, but compared to others in the field, it was pretty reasonable since the package we picked includes a wedding book (I know it will take me forever to do my own). The only caution I have is that she is somewhat slow with correspondence. I have yet to receive my pictures (a month later) but I'm sure they are gorgeous. I recommend her if you want guaranteed beautiful pictures on your wedding day (even if it requires a little patience).

y was the worst. She didnt get any pictures of extended family. She told me previously that she had photographed my wedding location before and there were tons of beautiful spots. Then used a dirt path that was slanted so everyone had to lean. Not to mention it took her months to get back to me after the wedding. Then none of the USBs worked and the pictures she did edit looked like she pressed the sunlight button but no editing was really done. I would go back in a heart beat and hire someone else.

I think its because she is so busy and has so many brides to take care of. so i didnt feel like a priority. when i got my pictures back it didnt matter because she is so talented. she is full of ideas and makes your pictures way unique. she also had a ton of advice, I'm the first to be married in my family so I felt like i didnt know what i was doing and she was super helpful!

She's amazing with lighting, has been in the business long enough to know what she's doing and take charge of the situation but also is creative and always wanting to do new, unique things which is hard to find in a Utah wedding industry where photographers all end up doing the same things and same boring poses. The only critique I have for Alix is that she's not always on top of her emails, she was pretty late getting my formals to me and she just emailed my actual wedding day photos which I had to download instead of using her usual USB port. I think her service needs the tiniest bit of work, but she is truly one hell of a photographer.
