Scott was amazing to work with. He was punctual, communicated well and he knew what he was doing. He tried to play every song we wanted, he kept the party going, and he was just great to have as a DJ. We highly recommend him to anyone who needs an amazing DJ, guaranteed to get at least every person up and dancing!

Scott was absolutely lovely. He diligently prepared for our wedding -- I was a bride who preferred to have control over the broader playlist--Scott took all of our preferences into account and prepared an AWESOME selection of songs based on what I chose. It was so obvious how hard he worked to make it perfect for us! The dance floor was packed the ENTIRE night---it was the BEST and we received so many compliments about what a crazy fun party the whole thing was. I would recommend Scott to anyone!!!!! You can really tell him exactly what you want and he will listen. You won't be disappointed.

Scott provided great service, was very organized, communicated well, had a user-friendly website and kept things going smoothly throughout the night. His equipment (including lights for the dance floor and additional uplighting) was of high quality and he was particularly sensitive to providing the right volume level for all located in the dining room and then was able to "pump it up" for the dance floor. We really enjoyed working with Scott and would recommend him highly.

After much consideration, I feel compelled to share my experience with this DJ following my recent wedding. While our wedding day was overall beautiful and our music was played, the professionalism and customer service provided by Scott left much to be desired and the reality of his service on the day of our wedding fell short of expectations. Before the wedding, we were excited to work with Scott based on his great reviews and excellent communication. However, on the day of the wedding, it was apparent that he lacked enthusiasm and seemed indifferent about being there. His remark about playing his own music if guests weren't dancing was unprofessional and showed a lack of consideration for our preferences. Additionally, despite agreeing to allow guests to request songs, Scott declined requests and expressed disdain for our music playlist to my mother-in-law. Throughout the evening, he appeared disengaged and did not make an effort to create a lively atmosphere. I reached out to Scott privately after the wedding to express our dissatisfaction, but his response lacked empathy and failed to address our concerns adequately. While I understand that vendors may have off days, it's disappointing that our feedback was not acknowledged or met with any offer of a meaningful apology. Ultimately, I cannot recommend Scott based on our experience. While he may have positive reviews from others, I urge potential clients to consider our experience and perhaps look for a DJ who is more attentive and professional.

Scott did an amazing job as DJ and MC at our wedding! Scott was professional throughout the whole process. He thoroughly went over the wedding timeline with us beforehand and he followed it to a T on the day of the wedding. He was all set up and ready to go when the wedding started and once the wedding started he did an excellent job handling, announcements, introductions, and our first dance. Finally, once the music really got going everyone was on the dance floor. My wife and I thought Scott did an amazing job and we would highly recommend him if you are looking for a DJ for your event.

Scott was great to work with! He was very responsive throughout the entire process. In addition to the music, he brought mics for during the ceremony and reception. We had a complicated venue (2 different outdoor areas and multi-level indoor) and I don't know how he made it work so well. Everyone had so much fun dancing and it was a great atmosphere. Scott was organized, communicative, and flexible. We were impressed that he questioned us during our consult to ensure he was the right fit. We liked his laid-back disposition, he was available, and the price was right, so we proceeded. As the wedding approached, I reached out about details and made several changes/decisions (some last-minute). He was responsive and patient, and gave great suggestions based on his experience. For song selections on his site, I specified which songs to use for which activities (and sent links to anything outside of his database). The other selections were examples of music we like/things he could play to allow for greater flexibility/him to showcase his DJ skills. I would highly recommend this approach as he made things flow seamlessly when our timeline got thrown off/we were late starting the reception. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves/get their groove on. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding/what we were looking for and would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Scott is very worth booking for any event you have! We had him DJ/MC our wedding a couple weeks ago and our experience with him from the moment we booked him was great. He is very quick to respond to questions and emails. He was flexible with setting up times for meetings. He is also a big planner - like I am - so our final meeting with him he asked any and every question to make sure he understood our vision for our wedding. Then, of course, hurricane Ian hit our wedding weekend and completely changed our wedding. Scott was incredible the whole week - we had to change venues and he made it so simple and was very flexible. Scott was a fantastic DJ that kept the party going all night long! Everyone was on the dancefloor and having the time of their lives. I called Scott the week before the wedding panicked because I had forgotten about lighting, and he secured it for me with no problem. He was responsive and super helpful with creating my timeline too! He's simply the best!

We found Scott through wedding wire, he was the only DJ to respond to us. So thankful we looked no further and went with him. He is the most responsive, articulate vendor we dealt with during the reception process. He made the night so fun and the dance floor was full the entire time. Scott was a fantastic DJ! He was so easy to work with, easy to communicate with, and I could trust him to fill in songs outside of the songs we requested to be played (he picked great songs!). Scott was incredible to work with! He was super communicative before the event which means the world to a stressed out bride to be :) Whenever I wanted to hop on an extra call or had to delay a scheduled call he was extremely flexible and patient. We had extremely custom requests requiring speaker set up in multiple areas of the event site and he understood our vision and prepped them all perfectly. He provides a music portal for his clients where you can add must play or do not play songs- and we accidentally selected 8 hours worth of must play songs when our event only had time for 2 hours worth. On the night of, Scott chose songs that fit the energy of the dance floor perfectly! It was extremely important to us that our dance floor maintained high energy the entire night. We kicked off dancing with a Congo line to the dance floor and the dancing never died down after that - not even once! Scott is an expert in the industry and I highly recommend him.

Wow, Scott was fantastic! And he made everything so easy…. Everything from the few calls to coordinate to the site to pick the music! The site was easy to as we were able to add ceremony-related cues, times and notes. It was really user-friendly, too. Scott called about a week or so in advance of the big day to nail down some logistics and confirm some of our harder to find songs (he found them all). Everything went off without a hitch! Scott nailed all the musical cues perfectly, had all the mics ready to go, and kept everyone dancing until closing time. Highly recommend Scott!

He was very timely in getting back to me and more than willing for me to give him the specifics of what music I wanted and in what sequence- which was important to me. He was not offended that I was so specific in my requests. He offered great suggestions and so easy to work with. He was attentive, on time, prepared and professional. Scott was an absolutely fantastic DJ, and honestly one of our favorite vendors from our wedding. Prior to our wedding day, he was super responsive and easy to work with, and his website and planning forms were very user-friendly. He had a huge song database, but for songs we wanted that he didn't have, he just asked us to send the youtube link to make sure he used the version we wanted. We requested a fair number of songs, but still had some time where he filled in his own selections, and they were absolutely on point. Our guests had a blast dancing the entire evening, and the dance floor stayed crowded, which was the most important thing to us. Scott also truly listened to what we wanted - I had mentioned that I was fine with requests, but did not like line dances. I found out after the wedding that one guest had requested a line dance and he respectfully passed by that suggestion. Little things like that are so important! He worked so hard to make our day perfect on his end, and he succeeded. Highly highly recommend him if you are looking for a DJ!

Scott is the real deal! Easy to work with and is extremely helpful working through the event timeline and associated songs/genre desired for each phase/element. He took our music request, mixed it, and had the dance floor full the entire four hours that included all ages! We were celebrating our 32nd vow renewal and his personal touch and impact absolutely made it an evening that we will cherish forever!

DJ Scott was great! He was very responsive and easy to work with. We had to postpone our wedding twice due to COVID and Scott was understanding and re-scheduled us without hassle. We really appreciated his flexibility during our stressful, drawn-out process of wedding planning. He played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, as well as emceed during the reception. The entire evening went smoothly and he played all of the music we requested. We even had some custom songs we needed him to play and all we needed to provide was a Spotify or YouTube link -- simple! Guests (and myself) were on the dance floor the entire night. I was sad when the last song started playing -- went by too fast! I would recommend Scott for anyone's wedding!

Scott was great to work with. He did a great job both at the reception and even more so, in the planning stage. He was especially good at communicating with us, parents of the groom, and with the bride, before the event, to make sure everyone at the wedding had a wonderful time. Scott was really responsive over phone and email and was great about following up on things to make sure everything was on track for our wedding. He was able to find all of the music we wanted to play over the course of our day (some of it was kind of obscure). A few minor downsides: his website platform for filling out forms and selecting music was kind of dated and not super intuitive to use. Also, during the dancing portion of our reception Scott wasn't super great at reading the room to make sure the dancing was going well (you know how after half a song people are ready to move on and kind of stop dancing-- Scott was not super responsive to this and let songs drag on) and there were a few moments when the music stopped entirely and everyone just stood around. Overall nice to work with though!

Wow! Scott isn't only an AMAZING DJ but an overall great person to work with! If I had any questions, he answered them quickly and even helped me with some details I forgot about. He has a wonderful and easy to use website for planning and song requests. My fiance/husband and I had a lot of fun picking out music and were amazed at the extensive music library he provided. During the weeks leading up to the wedding, he was very attentive and easy to talk with. He made sure that every detail would be perfect for the day of. Finally, the wedding, he coordinated everything with my wedding coordinator for a streamlined evening of great music and dancing. Scott was very good at responding to emails and available via phone. He had a wide selection of music and was willing to find music that we wanted for our ceremony that he did not already have. We could definitely tell Scott wanted to make sure he played the music we wanted at our wedding. He asked clarifying questions when we were trying to describe something and we weren’t clear. We appreciated the variety of equipment he brought for the event – lapel mics, handheld mics, speakers, and lighting for dancing. He was very professional at all times. We just wished he had had the opportunity to play more of the songs we had requested. Overall, we were satisfied with his services.

Scott did an amazing job for our August 2020 wedding. We lost our original DJ due to rescheduling our wedding, and when we found Scott he was incredibly accommodating. Scott was able to help us with the timeline of the wedding, and was great at offering suggestions with things that have worked for him in the past. The most important part of the wedding for us was keeping the dance floor moving, and boy did Scott deliver! We got plenty of compliments on the music selection and were very happy with how many people were dancing! Scott was great at reading the vibes of the room and we can't recommend him enough. Scott's pricing was incredibly competitive and we were very happy with having him as our DJ!

Scott did a great job at our 2020 wedding. We had to postpone by a few months due to Covid restrictions and he was flexible enough to switch to the new date. We had some specific requests about how we wanted certain songs to be played and Scott accommodated all of them. We also had a particular vision for a cocktail hour that was "folk themed" with certain genres and artists and Scott did an amazing job with it. He also worked well with our day of coordinator to keep the event on schedule and guide us through various activities.

He was incredible! We had a small 30 person wedding and played all the right tunes to keep our younger crowd on the dance floor! Highly recommend!

4 stars for the quality of service, the music was well done but the circumstances of having a virtual wedding in time of COVID-19 didn't allow us to have the full DJ experience for an in person audience. An extra star for Scott showing up extra early the day of for setup, working with our videographer and rolling with the changes of format to an online wedding in light of circumstances.

Hiring Scott to DJ at our daughter's wedding reception was such a wonderful experience for us. He was always easily accessible, well organized and professional, but most of all he made the event a funfilled festive occasion by keeping our guests energized. We (and our guests) were so happy we hired Scott to DJ.

I called Scott on short notice and he was a pleasure to deal with. He worked with me on my budget, was responsive, helpful and kind. When the day of my event arrived, he let me know when he was in route and was quick to set up. His music was great and I couldn't have asked for anyone to be any easier to deal with or more professional. If I ever need another DJ, Scott will be my first call, he should be yours too!

Scott dj’d our same-sex Jewish wedding last weekend in Roseland, VA at Devils Backbone Brewery. He was wonderful. We barely followed his instructions that he provided long in advance and sent him a last minute Spotify playlist with 10+ hours of music on it for a mere 4 hour reception and he still rocked the house. He also set up the audio for our ceremony and provided the wireless lapel mic and everything went off without a hitch. We couldn’t have been happier.

Scott was very professional and easy to work with. He listened to all of our requests about the type of atmosphere we wanted to create with our playlist from pre-ceremony to the reception. The online portal was super useful and he always responded quickly to any messages. Based on the amount of dancing, I'd say our guests had a great time!

For our wedding, we wanted the dance floor to go all night. Scott succeeded at doing that. He also found the obscure songs we wanted, was easy to work with, responsive, helpful, and got everything done without any difficulty.

The service that Scott provided was perfect. Communication was fast and timely. He asked questions when needed and was very flexible. He played the songs/artists that we requested and kept the party going all night long and even played an extra when the guests wanted more. I highly recommend using Scott for any of your DJ needs.

We were beyond happy with the services that Scott performed! We were looking for someone professional, yet fun. He kept the dance floor moving all night long! It was so important to my husband and I to find someone that can keep the dance floor moving but not be too loud or out there. Scott was awesome on all accounts of his performance. He met with me many times and always cleared up any questions about song choices/pronounciation of names to ensure that everything was perfectly how we wanted it to be. Scott was great! Before the wedding, he was really responsive to emails, and he sent us a great planning form that made it really easy not to forget any major parts of the reception. And we were really pleased with how he did during the wedding! He wasn't cheesy, and people were on the dance floor all night! He had a great intuition about what songs to play, and his variety of genres pleased young and "senior" guests alike. Just an all-around great DJ! I'd recommend him to anyone.

I found Scott on a wedding website and he came with high 5 star reviews. Music is a big part of a wedding and he provided the music for both the ceremony and the reception. He created the wedding of my dreams on the music side. He also assisted me with other areas of the wedding that I didn't have a clue that I should do. Scott did a great job at our [backyard] wedding. He was laid-back but professional, on-time, and even came a little bit early to set-up and accommodate our need for him to have his area all set up so there were no interruptions during our ceremony. Our wedding was non-traditional in areas and Scott was great about navigating the territory.

More detail? Read on. Our initial conversation left me with a good impression: All About the Music (AATM) seemed open, flexible, easy going. Not so. Two days before the ceremony the ceremony the DJ sent the groom snarky emails inappropriate for a vendor. He wrote the groom: “just as an fyi I do a much better job, if I am given some flexibility with the music, because I know what works, and what doesn't.” Actually not true in the end. Our coordinator also reported him being uncooperative and rude before and during the event. At the ceremony, our readers were not provided microphones and our officiant hard to hear. AATM botched our simple processional, bridal march, and recessional with poor timing. Ex: There was an awkward pause before the recessional started and the played too low. Not paying attention? He didn’t fair well at the party. AATM turned off the music during our cocktail reception, it was silent for long enough for guests to ask the groom if there was an electrical problem. During the dinner and dancing portion, there were several awkward pauses after announcements; he just wasn’t paying attention I guess. He set up his speakers on top of our oldest guests, which meant that the music was too loud for people eating, but not loud enough on the dance floor. Unless they were direct requests, his music selection often missed the mark. We provided a request list from guests, telling him he should use it to feel out the kind of music we liked. We felt that offered adequate guidelines without limiting him. We also asked him to play alt country and classic rock (two genres that the bride’s father, who recently passed, really loved) but he didn’t really go there. My wife and I put our entire heart and soul into that day. All About the Music had great reviews online and we trusted his professionalism. We regret our decision and suggest you look elsewhere before doing so.

My husband and I were looking for an intuitive, professional, laid-back and flexible DJ for our ceremony and reception. Scott was all four! Even in our first meeting, we felt that we had found our DJ. He did a wonderful job with our outdoor ceremony including providing a microphone for our officiant. He did an amazing job getting our guests on the dance floor without seeming forceful, it felt very natural. He was polite, organized, punctual and able to adapt to our venue seamlessly. Scott did an excellent job as the DJ for our wedding. He provided the ceremony music, as well as music for the reception. He catered to my requests as far as the overall mood for the reception, but was ready to accommodate requests when guests wanted to start dancing. Scott did a great job! My husband and I were very happy with him. We didn't even meet him before our wedding (destination wedding) but we trusted the WW reviews and he was amazing. He provided microphones for our readers, and personal lapel mics for my husband and officiant during our ceremony. The music was flawless. We sent him a specific list for ceremony music, including time codes for the music to start, and Scott was perfect. The reception music was also great! We gave him some suggestions and some "don't play" songs. He had people dancing all night! There were no awkward silences in between songs. And once the traditional dances were done, he turned down the lights and turned on a fun light for the dance floor. I'm very glad we chose Scott at All About The Music for our wedding. My husband and I got married November of 2015, and we were nervous about using a DJ, however we are so glad we did! Scott did a great job! If you want to work with someone who is personable, reliable, hardworking and kind you will want to use him. For our wedding he went the extra mile to make sure your bridal party names, and family names are pronounced correctly. He has a great playlist, and is very easy and flexible to work with. For the reception we didn't have to worry about telling Scott what to play or do at the reception, he takes care of everything and works hard to make sure you have a great time and stay worry free. He did a fantastic job! I recommend any future wedding couple us him at their venue.
