Hiring Ann and All Brides New York is the classic take on - you get what you pay for. You may think Ann is "expensive" comparatively to other artists, but I doubt you get the quality of makeup, level of service, and emotional support as you do with Ann and her team. Hire Ann to handle your bridal make up and DON'T pass on the full day touch up make up package. It is totally worth it. Ann and her team will follow you around your grounds for photos and touch up EACH and every one of your girls between shots. It's like a real magazine photo shoot. She will also hold your hand, hold your flowers, hold your veil things you never think you'd need but you'll be so glad they are there. She really acts as an extension to your wedding team and you NEED a strong team that day. Ann is a calm artist and she will take feedback right then and there. She doesn't get flustered by complicated moms, and will pivot to a different style, shade etc. for what you think is best. Ann also brought along another makeup artist and she did a lot of my darker skin bridesmaids and she did an AMAZING JOB. I was so in love with how my girls looked, they were so beautiful, clean and vibrant. We were ahead of schedule and had plenty of time to take a lot of photos. On top of the day itself, communication was easy and quick with Ann. She had some crazy personal stuff happen right before our wedding, that did not impact her level of responsiveness and organization. She created the schedule, took feedback, made iterations, and she handled that for both the makeup team and the hair team (which is a different vendor). Ann personally is FUNNY and always looking to have fun (and good food). She's great to be around, if you have a bad experience with her it's probably something about you.

Ann is a genius. As a Korean-American, I knew that it was important to find and hopefully work with a makeup artist that knew how to accentuate and flatter my natural features. Ann made me feel confident, radiant, and still myself during the trial and during wedding day! I am a bit particular with what I envision and how a plan is executed, but honestly aside from a couple of adjustments between the trial and wedding day, I knew to trust Ann fully. Ann also did an amazing job with the rest of our getting-ready party and worked very quickly yet carefully. She's so easy to talk to, made me laugh all throughout the morning, and, again, is so just skilled. My makeup stayed on all night despite having oily skin and she was with me all throughout the day to touch me up. I cannot wait to eventually do a makeup class with Ann, she's absolutely the best. Ann was brought onto my glam squad in dire circumstances. I originally hired a makeup artist who had to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances a little over a month out of my wedding. I was distraught, but I immediately reached out to Ann, who was already on my radar for a long time. She responded very quickly and thankfully agreed to help a desperate bride in need on short notice! I'm fairly certain that I researched every makeup artist that exists in the NY area who had experience working with Asian features, and Ann perfected that balance between Asian and Western styles that suited my face. My makeup (as well as my family's) photographed beautifully and looked flawless in person without looking cakey. My makeup lasted 12+ hours of drizzly rain and sweaty dancing until I washed it off at night. My husband even commented that my makeup looked like it was done by a true professional rather than someone who's "just good" at makeup, and I completely agree! Ann also brings positive energy while remaining laser-focused while she works. She's exactly who you'll want to hire for your wedding day!

Ann is a DREAM to work with. When I was searching for hair and makeup artists, I wanted a team that specialized in Asian hair/makeup. Ann and Jessica understood exactly what I was looking for. I knew I was going to hire them after doing a trial for my engagement. I even hired Ann to do my Bridal Shower glam. For the big day, I received so many complements for the glam. Ann kept it to soft glam and I was still able to look like. The makeup survived all the dancing and jumping around at the reception. My hair, which NEVER curls, stayed in place the whole night. Everyone was shocked! Shoutout to Jessica! My bridal party loved everything they had done. One had skin allergies and Ann was able to accommodate. Makeup stayed on her the whole night. Ann and her team are definitely the hype team you need to get you excited for the day of. I told Ann that whenever I have another event that needs glam, she's definitely going to be my first call! It was truly great working with her for all my wedding events. She's super responsive and was always available to chat. I will miss working with her!

Ann and Jessica were absolutely wonderful and accommodating for my destination wedding in upstate NY. They made everything about getting ready for the wedding so easy and fun (!) for me (as the bride) and my party and everyone was raving about their wonderful services. I have never felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day, largely because of their excellent work, and my mom, MOH, and party all felt similarly. They also went above and beyond in teaching us how to don and doff my veil (a team effort) without messing up my hair. I have already recommended All Brides to many of my engaged friends looking for makeup artists in the NYC region, especially Asian brides, as good makeup artists are hard to find! All of my bridesmaids, mom, grandma, and myself had a wonderful time getting our looks done and they all felt and looked phenomenal. My goal was for everyone to feel special and have a wonderful glam look that they felt amazing about and Ann completely surpassed my hopes. She listened to what we were looking for and tailored the look to each woman so they felt amazing and looked amazing all night. Ann was so amazing to work with! She did my makeup as well as my bridesmaids / mom and everyone looked stunning. My makeup stayed all night (including through the afterparty) and people are still shocked as to how it looked so good all night! I also got married in the summer in NYC so being able to say my makeup stayed all night is really amazing. Not only was my makeup stunning and exactly what I wanted, Ann is also just an incredible person to have on your wedding day. She did countless touchups, fixed my train for pictures, dried my moms wedding dress when champagne spilt on it, and was ultimately such a big part of why my day went so smoothly.

Ann blew me away with her make up during my trial. I had bad skin at the time and somehow still looked amazing and the make up lasted all day and night while I was out apartment hunting in February weather. By the time my wedding day came (and my skin cleared up) I was in love with how the make up turned out. We had unexpected rain during the ceremony and my make up didn't budge. Ann had already offered to come back to our venue (off duty) incase I needed any touch ups but I didn't! The look was so natural but still glamorous I can't recommend her enough!!

Ann you rock! I hired Ann and Jessica Lavendar (hair) a few years ago for my wedding in 2020. Obviously, like many others, I had to postpone and shuffle my wedding date. Ann was so wonderfully accomodating and never made me feel pressured or stressed. When the day finally arrived, she had top-notch professionalism and was truly just a pleasure to be with. I can honestly say I've never looked prettier and all that is due to Jess and Ann. Also, I have to add that the "getting ready" time can be so stressful for brides, mothers, and friends - but Ann and Jess were so kind, confident, funny, and supportive. They truly made it a wonderful, wonderful day. I'll even note that my MOH couldn't get under my dress to buckle my shoes since her dress was a tad tight, and both Ann and Jessica swooped under my dress to help me. They had no hesitation, they just wanted me to look and feel my best. I am so grateful and I will recommend Ann until the end of time.

I decided to go with Ann because my friend used her for her wedding and when she walked down the aisle, I literally gasped. Her work is flawless. Really, Ann is amazing. Not only is her work impeccable (she made me, 7 bridesmaids, and my mom into movie stars), but she has the most lovely personality. She is easy-going, bubbly, and funny. Everyone loved her so much! She also really listened when it came to makeup. If you look at her Instagram you can see that she can do full-glam or more natural looks. I went with natural and she delivered! Best makeup I’ve ever had. I booked Ann for my elopement and it was the best! I have had makeup done for special events since I was a teenager and this is the first time I can honestly say I’m very happy and satisfied. Ann is responsive, accommodating and personable. She listens to what I want so I decided to book her without a trial since her portfolio looks so good. Her makeup made me look like the elevated version of myself and I felt beautiful. More than anything how her makeup made me feel on my special day made a huge difference. She’s absolutely worth the price and I would recommend her to all my friends and family. Ann is an absolute master of her craft and a true professional! I reached out to Ann at the start of my wedding planning process after finding her work on Instagram. Unfortunately she wasn’t available to accommodate me and my bridal party so I booked with someone else. After my first trial didn’t go as expected, I reached out to Ann in somewhat of a panic in the off chance her schedule had changed. She was so quick to respond and took the time to look at photos and consult with me on what could be done differently to achieve the look I was hoping for. I ended up doing a trial with Ann and WOW... I was completely blown away! She was so precise in her work and really understands how to best accentuate her clients features. Ann is the very best! She is professional and means business, but at the same time, I felt she was laid back and extremely flexible- it was like having a good friend do my make up/hair. We spoke over the phone and I had sent some inspiration photos, but we did not have a trial session or a video consultation. I did a makeup trial two weeks ahead of my wedding day and the final result was breathtaking. My dark undereye circles and blemishes were completely hidden without having thick layers of makeup. A week before my wedding day, my wedding was cancelled due to COVID-19 and NYC indoor dining restrictions. While I worked on a new venue to host my ceremony, Ann was calm, understanding, and flexible, which was a relief while I re-planned a wedding. The morning of my wedding ceremony, Ann and her hair stylist arrived at my hotel on-time. Along with my makeup, Ann did my mother-in-law and two bridesmaids’ makeup. All the ladies who are of different ages and have different skin concerns looked stunning and were all pleased with the result. I plan on having my wedding reception next year and Ann is going to be the first person I contact once I book my date. Ann is a talented makeup artist and a pleasure to work with.

Ann is the best! When searching for a makeup artist, it was important to me that they know how to enhance my natural features, while accenting my eyes (I have monolid eyes). I literally could not wait to write Ann this review. I first found Ann on Instagram and fell in love with her natural style. I searched a long time and am so glad I found her. I wanted to look like myself on my wedding date and so many other artist just could not do this well. Ann however is a natural. What really sets her apart from any other makeup artist is she truly cares and prioritized what worked well for my acne prone skin. I love that she really cares about your skin and ensuring that the products she uses will not make you break out or cause you to be oily/dry. As soon as I connected with her we starting messaging about what I was looking for, my colors, and my style. She listened carefully and during my trial, I felt so comfortable with Ann. Due to COVID, I had to reschedule my wedding and Ann was so accommodating and helpful. I appreciate her professionalism and her true care for her clients. On my wedding day, I felt like I had a friend there. She made me feel so relaxed and went above and beyond for me, my sister and my mom. She nailed every look and everyone loved my makeup. Even though I have very oily skin, my skin stayed perfect ALL night even during a 97 degree outdoor wedding HEAT WAVE. Also, literally minutes before I left for the church my mom and I got very emotional and started crying and I accidentally wiped some of my concealer off. I was so worried but Ann literally jumped on it, fixed everything in 2 secs and even gave me her concealer and brush in case I needed it later. You will NOT find anyone like her that truly cares this much. If this doesn't show you how amazing she is, I don't know what will. Ann is the best out there and you do NOT want to go with a "cheaper" option. My makeup really elevated my entire look that day and is the number one thing I would spend money on. She is worth every penny and more.

It was a miracle to find Ann two days before my marriage in the pandemic. I loved my makeup and everyone said how natural and beautiful my makeup was. Can't recommend Ann enough! She was absolutely amazing and I didn't touch up my make up once during the night. After 12 hours of running around and having an amazing time, my make up still looked perfect!! The make up trial was the best part because she figured out exactly what worked with my skin. I'm notorious for having raccoon eyes most days after a few hours but I didn't have a single problem that night. She made me look like me but better! And I didn't even have to use a scour pad to scrub my face, everything came off with ease. She listened to all my requests and gave me such helpful input. If you are reading this review, you're probably looking for a reliable and skillful makeup artist who actually has good taste to help you glow up for your event/ photoshoot/ wedding. I know the struggle. There aren't many chances you can take since professional makeup services aren't exactly cheap and no one has a million hours to do trial runs. Skills matter- where you place the brush, how heavy the strokes are, the right blending techniques... taste also matters: how the color matches your skin, how it visually enhances your features, if you are getting the looks you desire... I had all these in mind when I searched for an makeup artist for my event& photoshoot. I was looking for an old Hollywood glamours look. Many times when I do my own makeup and follow various tutorials, no matter how detailed they are, it will always look very different on my face. And many of the pictures MUAs post are career models, who are already so beautiful. I was worried that this, too, would be just like me following tutorials- beautiful on the model/blogger, but different in practice. I found Ann and the two reasons that convinced me are pictures the soft Smokey eyes that she's so good at, and those insanely positive reviews she have. I normally don't write reviews myself. But Ann's professionalism and skills are actually amazing. I felt like a movie star, and everything I asked for- she delivered. She was early and was very thorough with her makeup. Ann and her hair stylist, Jessica, were on time and ready to go. Hair and makeup were exactly what I wanted, and both held up perfectly through the evening. I hired her to stay through the ceremony for touch ups because was I definitely sure I was going to cry throughout the day. She honestly was such a huge help during pictures. Throughout the wedding day, she was there with a smile and provided such support and reassurance. I was shocked that she going so above and beyond what I thought I was included in her paid services. I had a trial with Ann pretty last minute after 2 mishap trials! Ann was great to work with and actually listened to me! I felt glamorous but still like myself. I have Indian acne prone skin and did airbrush for my wedding. I’ve had my makeup done many times before but Ann was exceptional at making my skin glow!

It could not have gone worse- she rushed through the trial and the makeup was so caked on that I like a different person. Thank you Ann for making me feel like the most beautiful woman at my wedding!! Ever since I contacted Ann I knew I wanted her to be my make up artist. She is not only a great makeup artist (got millions of compliments from friends and families), she also is super sweet. And let me tell you, this makes all the difference from my past experiences being other girls' bridesmaid. She checked on me couple times before the day of wedding to make sure I was rested and patiently answered all the questions I had. She was so responsive, kind, and easy to work with. During my trial we started off with a more natural look and worked our way up to glam so that I could see and decide which look I liked. I loved the airbrush foundation that she did and she did great shading on my eyes. I then booked her for my wedding day and WOW! Clearly I liked her work during the trial, but on the wedding day it was somehow even better. I’ve never felt so beautiful in my life. I danced so much on my wedding night that I worked up a sweat, but the makeup stayed on perfectly. If I ever have an event where I need professional makeup again I’ll definitely be contacting Ann. She’s very good at what she does and an absolute pleasure to work with.

I cannot say enough about how incredible Ann and her team were. Leading up to our wedding, I had a very difficult time finding a hair and makeup artist that I really loved. Ann (makeup artist) and Jessica (hairstylist) blew me away in my first trial and I was so relieved to have found them. They were fantastic to work with, with quick responses to every text and email. I was indecisive on my hair and during my second trial Jessica was so patient and took the time to try out several different hairstyles with me. I was blown away by their work on our wedding day. Ann is the queen of soft, glamorous and tasteful makeup! I could not have been in better hands on my wedding day. She was so warm and friendly during the trial, open to my thoughts and hadvery helpful suggestions. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and at ease on my wedding day and got along so well with my whole family and bridal party. I’m pretty particular with my makeup and was nervous trying to find someone who I was comfortable with. Ann was great from the start. Communication is very important to me and Ann always replied in a timely fashion. She’s easy going and talented. She took into consideration my likes and dislikes in regards to makeup and adapted accordingly. She also did an amazing job on my mom who never ever ever wears makeup! Jessica - her partner in hair - was excellent! During the trial she tried a couple of different variations to see which one I liked best. I recommend them both!

Ann was incredible and so professional! I recently got married and had a discouraging trial with a different make-up artist. As my wedding date was approaching I became nervous that I would not be able to find someone. Ann was the answer to my prayers. She was so responsive to my questions and emails and she did an incredible job doing my make-up as well as my mother and sister's. She even covered-up my tattoo! 2 words: HIRE ANN! I used Ann for my engagement photo shoot back in May since I had a sunrise shoot in Brooklyn. It's fairly difficult to find a good makeup artist that can make you look that beautiful so early. I ended up booking her for my wedding (this past December) after a long search. I hired Ann to do my bridesmaids and family's make up for my wedding day and I couldnt be happier with my decision. I was initially overwhelmed with the number of make up artists that were in NYC, but after doing some research, I decided to go with Ann for my city hall wedding and I was extremely happy with the outcomes! Having been in friends’ weddings, this isn’t always the case, and falling behind schedule can cause unnecessary stress—the last thing you want on your wedding day. My bridesmaids, mother, and future mother-in-law all loved their looks. As for me, I couldn’t have been more happy with how everything turned out. My makeup and hair looked flawless and also lasted the entire day and night, all the way through until after the after-party. Ann is an amazing person. I searched for several weeks to find someone who can do my pre-wedding photoshoot not too girly or pretty, but somehow special and artsy and her makeup came out really nice!!! Everyone who saw my pictures said that they love my hair and makeup. I'm so glad that I met her since she is so sweet and easy to work with and also, professional!! And also, she exactly knew what kind of makeup I want by showing her some inspiration photos before I get the makeup. I had been through 4 makeup trials before I found Ann. I’m not a picky person at all, however makeup was the one thing that was very important to me on my wedding day. No matter how many times I would tell artists I wanted my makeup look natural, I always ended up looking like a clown or orange. When I finally found Ann, she came right over and did a trial for me. It was the biggest relief. I’ve actually never seen makeup done so well before... she is so talented at knowing what products are right for your skin and matching your skin tone. She left me feeling so confident and beautiful and the day of the wedding I had people asking non stop who did the makeup for myself and the bridal party. I found Ann through Yelp when I was looking to work with a makeup artist who knew how to do makeup on asian brides. I have been to several friends/family’s weddings in the past and had makeup artists who had no idea how to apply makeup on asian features. Some of you may know what I mean when I say that you can’t use the same techniques of applying makeup (especially eyes!) on such different features, such as hooded/monolids versus deep-set/ double eye-lids. I reached out to Ann because she had such great reviews, and straight off the bat, she was responsive and super friendly. We met for a makeup trial months before the wedding and she was so sweet and open to hearing about how I wanted my bridal makeup. She got me right away and I was so excited to work with her from the start! On the wedding day, Ann was a dream to work with. She has such a wonderful and calm demeanor about her that as soon as she started to do my makeup, I just felt so relaxed and my anxiety subsided. What can I say, she did an AMAZING JOB. The makeup was flawless and I was just in awe of how she made my make-up look both, natural and glamorous! I was so thrilled! Oh, and I also was recovering from a cold-sore that popped up just a few days before the wedding (YES, a bride’s worst nightmare! I get them at times when I’m really stressed/not getting proper sleep! ugh) and she miraculously made it disappear with makeup magic. I was so relieved and so happy with my whole look. I worked with Ann and Vanessa for my wedding day, and they were amazing! Between my initial inquiry and the day of, Ann was very responsive to all of my messages. Both her and Vanessa were also prompt for my 7:00am appointment. Between booking and the day of, I was continually questioning myself for not having a trial session. However, with giving them the direction of natural make up and a few updo photos, they gave me exactly what I was looking for. They were fun to work with, and I got a lot of compliments on how great my hair and make up looked. I would absolutely work with them again!

Ann is absolutely phenomenal. Not being from NYC, I had no idea where to start finding someone for hair and makeup for my wedding day, and I'm SO glad I found All Brides New York. Ann was amazing. So kind and talented and truly listened to what I said I did and didn't want. She made me look polished but entirely like myself, so I won't be looking back at my wedding photos at a stranger.
