Can't say enough about the quality of James's work, his attention to detail, his professionalism, and curating the best dance party experience at our wedding!! From start to finish he was extremely prepared and provided us with all the materials needed to organize the music and run of show. As both DJ and MC, James truly went the extra mile to make our day run seamlessly, and made us feel so special. He was even accommodating to our last minute music requests and was very patient with us. In addition to being extremely professional, prepared, and organized, he is such a down-to-earth and kind, genuine person. He even captured some videos of our first dance and grand entrance that we wouldn't have had otherwise because we didn't have a videographer. This was so thoughtful and truly above and beyond! We personally added on the photo booth option and are glad we did, as it was a hit. His rates were very reasonable as well, especially for the package we got. Everyone raved about James and the music. He made our wedding day exactly the party we hoped for - the most fun we've ever had! James was amazing and reliable DJ/MC to work with. He assured us that he has DJ'd thousands of events, and we knew that we were in good hands. The platform that he uses is user-friendly and has so many cool features, allowing us to seamlessly input our song lists, notes, and music preferences. He's a wedding planning extraordinaire and he even offers officiant, photobooth, and lighting services. While we were trying to coordinate our wedding from out of state, he was very responsive and always willing to hop on a Zoom call no matter how busy he was. He was also just as communicative when working together with our wedding coordinator. We brainstormed some unique and creative game ideas for the wedding reception, and he led the games and made them fun (and funny!) on the wedding day. He was one of the first vendors present and set up so fast between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I really love how he mixed our music and kept up the positive energy throughout the wedding. He did such a nice job with the wedding announcement and speeches, making sure to check on name pronunciations beforehand, and he even wore our wedding colors! We really appreciated his advice and many hours of support throughout the whole wedding planning process. Thank you, James for being there for us and for the wonderful memories!

James is THE BEST!! We booked James to DJ our wedding and he did a phenomenal job. He was extremely professional - setting up meetings with us well in advance of the event to get to know us, understand our music tastes, and discuss additional services he could provide. On the day of, he played music from playlists we provided to him, and let me tell you...HE CAN MIX! I've been to plenty of weddings where it sounds like a playlist is playing, but James wove through our playlists with perfect transitions and had a great eye for what should be played at different times throughout the night. He also brought amazing energy as our MC, keeping the energy high throughout the entire evening. We also packaged our photobooth through him and it was a hit! All of this for a very reasonable price too. I couldn't recommend him more!

James was amazing! We got so many comments from guests on how he did an awesome job with the music! Before the wedding, he gave us a tentative timeline and suggestions of songs to help give us ideas. James provided a template and a catalogue of songs to choose from which made the process so easy. He worked with all of my requests - wanting to walk at a certain point of the song, accepting good song requests only, etc. We also used his photo booth services which I 100% recommend doing! Our guests had fun taking photos/videos, and we received the photos/videos right after the wedding. It was great to have those, especially while waiting for professional photos! My wife, Megan and I, had James Lee DJ and MC our wedding in April of 2024. Although, I had never met James before, my wife had been to four family weddings where James was the DJ. Having never met James I wanted to interview him first. Prior to meeting virtually with James, we did one other interview with a different DJ. My first impression of James was that he was very professional, competent and knowledgeable about his craft. The minute he shared his screen with us and showed us how he organizes the day of, I knew James was going to be our DJ. We signed the agreement with James that day, and made an initial payment. My wife essentially planned our entire wedding; however, James really helped us think about so many different considerations that we would not have thought about. He really removed the burden of having to create our own day-of timeline. At the wedding, James worked well with our coordinator to make sure our day ran smoothly and on schedule. This was not an easy task since we had over 300 guests. He helped control the crowd, and kept the overall vibe of the wedding positive and energetic. My wife is Japanese-American and I am Mexican-American, and it was important to us to have somone who would be respectful towards both cultures, so we really appreciated James taking the time to correctly pronounce our bridesmaids and groomsmen’s names. Prior to the wedding, we gave James only general vison of the music we wanted to hear that night. He more than delivered by playing music that was appropriate for all generations, sensitive to both cultures, and overall played music that everyone enjoyed and also nailed it on the Spanish music. A DJ/MC really makes or breaks the wedding, so we are so happy and grateful that James was available to do our wedding.

My husband and I got married a month ago. We come from two different cultures and it was important that we had a Vietnamese/English MC so my family would be able to understand during the reception. All the Above Events provides a variety of services and we hired them for DJ, MC, and uplighting. There was an app that we were able to use to help create our timeline and add music for the dinner and dance. I was able to schedule a zoom call closer to the wedding and they were able to help me make sure the timeline was good and organized. We had such an amazing time the day of our wedding and everyone absolutely loved the entertainment. They did such a wonderful job with the music, MC, and getting everyone hyped up. People were dancing all night long. The uplighting added such a beautitful touch to the space so I highly recommend that. Please consider All the Above Events because they are great!

If you're looking for a DJ/MC who goes above and beyond, look no further! We had the pleasure of having James Lee at our wedding, and let me tell you, he was absolutely phenomenal. He was very open with pricing and recommended certain things, like LED lights, he thought that we needed. I also informed him that we did not have a wedding planner, and he said he’s done many weddings that did not have a planner. So, from the get-go, James was more than just a music maestro. He jumped right in to help us plan out the timeline for our event, ensuring everything ran smoothly. On the big day, he helped directed guests where they needed to be and ensuring everyone was having a blast. But it didn't stop there. James brought the fun with some fantastic games during the reception, keeping the energy high and the laughter flowing. And when it came to the music, he nailed it. Every song seemed perfectly timed, keeping the dance floor packed all night long. In simple terms, James was the MVP of our event. James is EXCEPTIONAL!! We used him for DJ, MC, and photobooth for my wedding and he made the entire night run smoothly. Everyone at the event complimented on his work and I really couldn't be happier. He was able to read the crowd on the dancefloor and adjust accordingly so that everyone was up, dancing, having fun. The pictures at the photobooth were priceless. His process is streamlined so you aren't left guessing and he's so responsive. We worked with All The Above Events for our wedding. Michael MC’d the actual day and was so great. Awesome personality, great vibe and most of all not cheesy at all (which is always my biggest pet peeve). James coordinated all the details through the process and it was really fun. They provided music entertainment, up lighting and cold sparklers (which added a fun flair). Pricing is reasonable and they have an awesome app you can customize through your planning process. They make it really easy and follow your queues perfectly. We really enjoyed working with them.

James was a fantastic MC & DJ for our wedding! Throughout our planning phase, he was very responsive and available to answer any questions in a timely manner. He adapted very quickly to the last minute changes on the day of, and even provided us with great advice on coordinating our event. He was very friendly with all our other vendor staffs and the reception games planned provided a lot of entertainment for our guests. The photo-booth and the props he provided was great as well. At the end of the night even our family members were thanking him for the service he provided. We would highly recommend James for anyone who is in need of his many services.

DJ James killed it! He was our favorite vendor from our planner’s recs who was likable, versatile and went above and beyond as a DJ/MC. Music was a top wedding priority for us and he played the perfect songs for our dance sets. He made a great edit to mash up our two first dance songs the way I requested. And as everyone else has said, he’s very organized! We also appreciated how experienced he was in playing a variety of cultural music. We did a la marcha dance (new mexican tradition) which he had done multiple times before and he helped us figure out how to smoothly incorporate it into our timeline, which all worked out super well. As did his transition from outdoor dinner to indoor reception! Then during dancing, some of my husband’s family asked if he could play a few Persian songs, and immediately he knew exactly what to play (without missing a beat, lol) — all were impressed! He even helped us set up acoustics for live keyboard performances from my family members. Lastly he was a friendly and smooth MC (which we expected from speaking to him on Zoom) — he didn’t overpower the vibes the way we’ve heard at other events. He hyped up the crowd for napkin-waving during our grand entrance song which we didn’t expect but was one of our favorite memories of the day. And a lot of our other happy memories were from all the dancing fun of course. 10/10 recommend! Thank you James!

James is the absolute best DJ we could have asked for! He was recommended to us by our venue, and has been one of the most amazing resources we had throughout our wedding planning process. He is extremely organized, having sent us an excel spreadsheet with a timeline for what songs to play and when. He also had plenty of recommendations, and he even created a custom mix of songs for my husband and his mom to dance to during the mother/son dance. We knew the moment we met him over Zoom to "interview" him that he was the DJ for us, and we're so glad we went with our gut instinct. By the way, at no point during the night was the dance floor empty. All of the best photography done at our wedding was of our guests on the dance floor screaming lyrics to Cruel Summer by Taylor Swift and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. If you don't hire James for your wedding, you are truly missing out on the best wedding DJ there is.

DJ James definitely brings the energy! He's a great DJ/MC for any event that you want guests to have fun at, and he's extremely organized and makes the event planning process seamless for you. We had James MC and DJ our wedding on June 16th. He was seriously the best. Starting from the initial Zoom meeting he made us feel comfortable and was super prepared. Then during the planning process he was very quick to respond, easy to schedule, and happy to meet. He gave us very detailed planning materials and was super accommodating! We ended up giving him a list of songs we liked and he played music perfectly matched. We ended up having karaoke for the party and James definitely made it easy to play/sing to all kinds of songs. He was also super affordable and already been to our venue (The 1909) and everything went smoothly from the ceremony to reception dinner to party! Overall James was super personable and was a big factor to how much fun we had at our wedding.

James is the definition of an amazing wedding DJ/MC!!! He is so fun and hype, he really knows how to get the crowd going and bring great vibes to the party! The dance floor was packed the entire night and everyone keeps complimenting that it was the best wedding/party they've ever been to! James did a great job at not playing a song for too long while we were dancing, and his transitions were on point! He even got my 91 year old grandma (who just had back surgery a few months ago) on the dance floor! He ran the musical chairs scavenger hunt game, and did such an awesome job at making it so fun for the entire crowd! You can tell he's such a well experienced wedding DJ/MC with how smoothly he runs everything! We would highly recommend him to everyone!!

Honestly, James from All The Above Events was the best vendor we hired for our wedding and all of our vendors were amazing. From our very first touch base with James, it was so comforting to see how professional, organized and thoughtful he could make an often stressful situation. He sent us spreadsheets for the ceremony and reception, we just needed to fill out what type of music or specific song requests. He did all the rest! But, what really impressed us was the fact that James reached out to our venue on his own to coordinate logistics for the wedding day. Once our big day came, James was an excellent MC and DJ for us!! Since he has so much experience, everything from the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception went perfectly. Once the dancing started he was able to keep everyone on the dancefloor having a great time. I truly cannot recommend and thank James enough, he really made if possible for us to enjoy our wedding day!

James was super easy to work with and was able to adjust to our seemingly eclectic music choices pretty fast (we gave him a mix of 2000's emo, edm, hip hop sing-a-longs, and even kpop - to which he did an excellent job keeping the dance floor going). There are a million things to worry about when it comes to the wedding day - fortunately music wasn't one of them with James.

James was an amazing DJ and MC for our wedding. He was very organized, detailed, and very flexible. He was not afraid to make sure the day was going smoothly in a very respectful way. I remember asking him the night before for a couple of changes, and he made it happen without hesitation. As we were preparing, we met with him a couple of times via zoom and we found him to be very respectful and affable. Preparing for a wedding, my wife and I were very nervous. He made it very simple and provided us with the tools/information we needed for choosing music (In our opinion, one of the most important details of a wedding). Everyone loved the music he played and there was never a problem with AV. The day went smoothly thanks to James and I would choose him again in a heartbeat to be our DJ and MC.

We hired James for our wedding and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. During our zoom meeting with him about a week before the wedding, we felt very at ease and excited to work with him because of his chill vibe and it felt like he understood exactly what we were going for. On the day of, he was very professional and was nice about taking song requests from our family/friends as long as they weren't on the do not play list and still seemed to be music that we'd like based on the list we gave him. We hired James from AlltheAboveEvents to D.J. and M.C. our October 2022 wedding. From the beginning, James was awesome and open to our ideas and very much a delight to work and communicate with. What makes James special is that he didn’t feel like he was trying to rush us. Other DJs we contacted felt pushy, whereas James felt like he wanted us to find the right person and to make sure we could achieve our musical vision. Once we spoke with him, we knew we didn’t want to speak to anyone else. He was our guy. We even asked him if he can use specific versions of songs that we wanted. In our interview with him, we felt confident James could get our favorite songs including those from soundtracks, anime, games, and movies that are dear to us. And on our big day, we heard all our favorite songs and special requests coming from our guests. The way he hyped up the audience and amped up the wedding party made our Grand Entrance full of celebratory energy, and we felt it continue throughout the rest of the evening. Our guests said they loved our D.J. We were so thankful to have him with us to make our dream wedding come true.

My husband and I can honestly say that James was one of the BEST parts of our wedding! Music was a huge deal as we began our search for our wedding DJ. Having come from a DJ background himself, my husband made it a point to find a DJ who could demonstrate smooth transitions and a confident presence on the mic. From the beginning, we loved that James provided us with samples of his sets/mixes from previous events. Many other DJs had no demos to provide us upon request and we did not feel comfortable blindly trusting someone with such an important part of our day. Once we heard how well James played and could work a crowd as an MC, we knew we had to go with him. One of the best parts about working with James is that he provided a comprehensive Day Of music timeline and allowed us to select a song for all those special moments (i.e. cake cutting song, bouquet toss, bridal party procession, etc.). Not only did this help immensely with our planning, but he played every song that we wanted and more! We told James that while it was important to us to play the songs we wanted, it was equally as important to please the crowd and keep our guests dancing. James did an incredible job keeping our guests engaged, playing all of our selected songs, and even more songs that we loved but hadn't requested. Our guests kept raving about how the music choices were perfect and how fun our wedding was. He also honored our guests's song requests without killing the vibe, which is often difficult to do. We owe a huge part of our amazing day to James and are so grateful that we found him!

Can't thank James enough for creating such an amazing environment during my wedding. If you have no idea where/how to start, he makes it straightforward and easy. Surprisingly during my wedding, I had friends, family, and even venue managers recognize James from previous weddings that they had attended. James Lee was the MOST efficient, professional, NOT CHEESY DJ in the world. James is fantastic! Referred to me through my vendor, FantaSea Yachts he was so knowledgeable on how a wedding should run and suggested many songs for our entrance, soft jazz during cocktail hour and the song played seamlessly when we cut our cake. James was a blast and made our event even MORE spectacular. All of my guests agreed James is the bomb dot com.

James was amazing at our wedding as our DJ and MC! My husband and I talked to several DJ's and from our first virtual meeting with James, we knew he would be the perfect guy for our wedding. He is very organized and had a template already made with a tentative timeline and sections to add what songs we wanted at certain times. He also gave us a list of song ideas that was very helpful and ideas for games/fun things to do during the reception. On the day of the wedding, he was awesome. He vibed well with our guests and got a lot of people on the dance floor. He was great at announcing the bridal party and what was happening throughout the night. James helped make it a really fun wedding!

We had the privilege of having James MC our entire wedding day! We could not be more happier with how the entire day was handled by him. Everything went so smoothly and people had a great time from start to finish. - Planning: I found James by a recommendation from our coordinator. Out of all the DJs, James had the best website that showed not only excitement but also that they cared about the setlist. Once we chose him, James was very organized - he had documents all prepared from contract to schedule to song requests. It made the entire process such a breeze! Details down to the lighting were well thought out as well. We appreciated his connections to a photo booth as well. - Ceremony: Our officiant told us afterwards how much she appreciated James because he helped hyped/encourage her for the ceremony beforehand. I love this detail because it shows how personable he is! The ceremony went smoothly for both music and sound :) - Reception: Music was important for me and my husband as it was something that we bonded over. Not only did James played more requested songs than I expected, he even played them in an order that showed us that he payed attention to our requests. In other words, we definitely had some random songs in our requests and the fact that the order of songs made sense showed that he cared enough to listen to them. He was accommodating throughout the night and we enjoyed dancing very much! Announcements throughout the night went smoothly as well! James is so easy going and I would recommend him to anyone who wants a good party!

We hired James with All The Above Events as the DJ for our wedding, and it was easily one of the best decisions we made. From our very first interactions about a year before our wedding, he was incredibly responsive, professional, and friendly. We felt at ease with him right away. We are SO grateful we decided to go with DJ James as theDJ and emcee for our wedding. He was friendly, professional, and responsive from the start. DJ James went above and beyond multiple times during the evening including helping our photographer with table photos to make the whole process very efficient. The photobooth services he brought with him were also wonderful and included a scrapbooking set-up that our guests absolutely loved...plus we got a fun album out of it! James was great as our wedding DJ & MC. He was super professional and had all of the logistics nailed down such that there weren't any hitches on our big day. He took the time to ask us to confirm the pronunciation of family and friends for the grand entrance, and that attention to detail was consistent throughout the entire day. It was really important to us that the dance floor stayed strong throughout the night; he took the list of songs we gave him and was dropping hits all night long. We got a lot of compliments on how much fun the music and dancing was! In the months leading up to the wedding, James did work with us through a rescheduling due to COVID, and he was very accommodating throughout that time. We would definitely go with James again if we had to do it all over, and we would also recommend him to family and friends. In fact, we already did recommend him for a friend's wedding that we attended, and he was great as DJ & MC for them, too!

James was absolutely fantastic! We couldn't have been happier with him. We planned most of our wedding ourselves and it was very chaotic up until the day, but James made our lives so much easier. We were running around the venue making sure everything was set up and everyone had everything they needed, but James was hands on in doing everything himself. He made sure to be at the right place at the right time without any guidance. We trusted him completely with the song choices aside from a few selections we made and we got so many compliments on the music he played. Everyone had a great time and James is incredibly perceptive in reading the room. We had 5 year olds and 90 year olds on the dance floor with every age in between having a good time. He also did a fantastic job emceeing the event so that everyone knew what we were doing and where to go. James is a talented, trustworthy, and respectable person and he was a major contributor in making our wedding most special!

James was the DJ and MC for our August 2021 wedding at Saddlerock Ranch. We 100% recommend booking him for any upcoming wedding or event! From our first communication to the last dance at our wedding, James was incredibly responsive and helpful on just about anything involving music and sound systems. While I could tell you about all the reasons we recommend James -- from his helpful playlist suggestions, to his ability to get the entire wedding out on the dance floor for the hora -- I will leave you with what I consider the highest piece of praise. The day after the wedding, James received compliments from BOTH of my grandmothers - and they usually don't agree on anything! One grandmother (85 y/o) loved that he was able keep people on the dance floor all night and the other (94 y/o) was impressed with the sound system at the ceremony because she could hear our vows and usually "can't hear anything." What could be a better recommendation than that? Thanks again James for making our wedding so special!

James was a great DJ and MC!! He was professional throughout, from the prep meetings all the way through to the end of the reception. His templates were very well organized and lead to a really great ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He's so detailed that nothing was missed. And the lighting he provided made a huge difference! I definitely recommend the uplights. It made regular spaces look warm and inviting. You can't go wrong with James!!

DJ Jounce was fantastic. It was the right balance of songs we requested. He kept the atmosphere lively. There wasn’t a point that a music change interrupted the flow. Truly Appreciate Him for his Service!

James is hands down the best DJ. He is super professional and even helped make custom edits for our wedding grand entrance and provided recommendations on our recessional music that would fit the theme. James went above and beyond to make our wedding day amazing. When we had to replan and push our date out several months due to COVID, James was nothing but accommodating. His DJ and MC services were top notch, highly professional, and he did not hesitate to even handle the Facebook live stream for our event on short notice. James is clearly a very seasoned DJ and read our audience well to set the mood perfectly at every stage of our event. What blew us away the most was James’ versatility and genuine personality. His ability to think quick on his feet truly saved our wedding and he did it all with a smile. I cannot say enough good things about James! He is professional, responsive, and easy to work with. In planning a wedding during the year of COVID, we were faced with numerous challenges and constant changes. James was kind, patient, and flexible through the whole process. He kept the lines of communication open. As a nervous bride, I was very thankful that he was always available to meet with us by phone or video to answer all my questions and to make sure we were comfortable. James is very organized. The document he sent us to help us choose the music and timeline was detailed and through. His experience with event planning was evident and incredibly helpful in helping us decide the tone and pace for our reception. During the reception, he was the prefect MC. He was personable and charming and surprised us with his Spanish-speaking skills! It was thanks to James that our tiny (immediate family only) reception was just as fun and enjoyable as the big reception we had dreamed of. I have not even mentioned his killer DJ skills! We did not plan to have dancing at the reception, but our parents and siblings could not resist James’ DJ magic. He was able to read the room and everyone had a great time with his music mix. James did an amazing job at our wedding! Everyone loved the music and danced nonstop throughout the whole reception! He understood our song styles and preferences, read the room well, and did a great job of planning everything beyond just the music. James was our DJ and MC for our August wedding in Simi Valley, CA. If you want the best DJ around, pick James! Seriously, we looked at many different options and read reviews of various other DJs but when we decided on James, it was like a weight lifted off of our shoulders. From the first phone conversation to the last minute pre-wedding details, James was there to ease our minds. He has staffed many weddings and events and completely knows what he is doing. He even offered ideas for things we didn't even think about. Literally, he had everything under control in the DJ/MC aspect of the wedding from the first time we met. Wedding planning as we all know can be super stressful, do yourself a favor, go with James (aka DJ Jounce) for your wedding or next big event. If we have another large event, we will for sure being picking James! Thank you for making our day so special!

James was our DJ & MC for our wedding last month and he is an absolute professional. I could tell right away that he knows exactly what he is doing, and has done A LOT of weddings. I live out of state from my wedding so I was pretty hands off for the whole planning process. It was so perfect that I went with James because he was so responsive to my emails, addressed my concerns fully, and even gave me lists of suggestions for certain songs. All I had to do was pick the songs I liked and that's it. He also transformed the vibe of the ballroom with his portable LED lights and lit them exactly how I wanted, fading the color from pink to purple to blue throughout the portions of the night. He did such a great job MC'ing too, everything from the grand entrance, intros, speeches/toasts, cake cutting, first dances, bouquet toss, and getting people to sing and dance. He was handed a timeline and just pretty much just took it from there. My cousins wanted to MC a part of the reception for fun and he was so on point transitioning seamlessly to them and back. My guests had such a blast that night dancing and karaoke-ing and James even stayed when we had only a few guests left partying at the end. If you want a fun, memorable, stress free wedding, definitely hire James as your DJ & MC!

I cannot recommend James enough for events! James was our MC for our wedding and we found him to be very personable and easy to work with. He's very organized and is willing to help throughout the entire wedding process, from helping us breakdown our wedding timeline to collaborating with our DJ. Even though there were some delays in the schedule during our wedding, James was able to help us get back on track and keep guests entertained during the event. He stayed until the very end of the event and worked closely with us on the day of to make sure things were running smoothly. He went above and beyond on his role, specifically one instance that involved him privately walking over to a group of people at our wedding to ask them to be quiet as speeches were being announced (without the bride or groom mentioning him to do so). Definitely consider James for your wedding or event if you want things to go as planned and without a hitch!
