Working with Alliance to plan our wedding cake was a breeze. They were incredibly responsive and perfectly created the inspiration picture we sent them for our cake. I had to take a moment during our reception to truly admire and marvel at the cake before we cut it because it was absolutely perfect! And of course, it was delicious.

I provided information for a refund and didn't receive any follow up until a week later when I had to email to remind them. They had excuses as to why there was an error on their part, but no customer recovery. Very disappointing and would not recommend them for a special event as reading another review this is not the first time something like this has happened.

They were kind and professional, and on top of it all, consulted with us to custom design our absolute dream cake!! Our vision was not your traditional wedding cake, and we were even told by other bakeries that we needed to stick to the flavors listed on their site. Alliance didn’t shy away from our vision and leaned fully into it and for that, we are so grateful, because our dream wedding cake became a reality and was an absolute dream come true. dated our need for an additional tasting kit. Our wedding cake was beautiful and tasted great. We selected the almond cake with raspberry buttercream and cream cheese filling. My husband had initially wanted strawberry and I wanted funfetti so we were both completely surprised when we fell in love with their almond cake. Even one of my hard to please relatives agreed the cake was delicious and basically perfect. We only wish there had been communication on when the cake should be taken out of the fridge before serving in order to reach room temperature. Our cake wasn’t exactly cold, but it wasn’t room temperature either and likely would’ve made for an even better taste and texture dalthough it was still very delicious and aromatic. One of our guests said it was the best smelling cake she'd ever had. Alliance also provided equally delicious gluten-free desserts that were somewhat similar flavor profiles as our cake vanilla cupcakes with the raspberry buttercream frosting. We highly recommend Alliance for your cake and other pastry needs, just be sure to ask about refrigeration times.

e most beautiful cake that was the exact design we envisioned for our wedding on 10/15/22. We had 3 flavors: almond cake with lemon curd, chocolate with chocolate ganache and raspberry preserves, and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Allowing our guests to choose their flavor made for a memorable experience. Highly recommend Alliance- super easy to work with and a delicious, beautiful cake!

We definitely wanted a more simple cake design on the outside (so our florist could add real flowers) but the flavors were anything but ordinary! Guests loved it and the only regret my husband and I have is that we didn't get a slice of each cake at the actual wedding reception!

Instead of one large cake, we went with a "cake bar" of different options, with one medium sized cake for cutting. Our guests were thrilled to try lots of different options, and the choices Alliance has are great quality and really interesting. The bakery was also very flexible when we decided to add another small dessert to our order (cookie bites served family-style at each table). Everything they bake is delicious, and they were easy to work with and flexible for our COVID-19 reschedules. Thank you to the Alliance team!

our wedding one of their employees emailed us stating that they had never received our check for our cake. I doubled checked my account and the check had cleared. I contacted them via phone and they said they never received it and they would need it ASAP in order to guarantee our cake. Shocked, I contacted my bank and they said the check was mailed weeks ago and cleared through our bill pay account. The employee at Alliance said that we would have to write another check. Stressed of course to find this out only a few days before we come to Chicago to get married. It turns out after they checked their books that they indeed did receive our check and had already cashed it. For all the stress and inconvenience we were promised a replica of our wedding cake top tier and a box of macaroons for our first anniversary. I was happy that the problem was resolved or at least I thought it was. When we accepted their offer, they told us that we would have to come and pick up the cake for our first wedding anniversary. Well, we live in Phoenix, and I don't know how that possible and Alliance Bakery was well informed that was the case. Then an employee of Alliance Bakery informed us that they would take care of it and would send us our cake for our anniversary. I sent a reminder email to check up to ensure that we would have our cake for our first wedding anniversary and now the owner, Peter is saying that they could give us a gift card because they don't have the capabilities to ship a cake overnight. As a business owner there is ZERO excuse that they are not fulfilling their mistakes to begin with. Peter sent an email saying it cost $100 to ship overnight, etc. I don't care how much it cost, as Alliance Bakery was in the wrong and now they are going back on their word. So now, my husband and I won't be celebrating our first anniversary as I had envisioned. The entire experience with them had been not only a major disappointment, but a major F U we received from Chef Peter.

My husband and I did notice after the fact that the design was a little off from what we decided upon. We had requested ribbon around the cake board and gold flaking. However, there was ribbon around each tier, and no gold flaking. Our florist provided floral to cascade throughout the cake. Luckily, I actually think what they gave us looks better than what we had agreed upon in the contract, so for this I am still leaving a 5 star review despite the lack of communication.

We also had their macarons as the guest favors (vanilla and salted caramel) and the guests are raving about all of it still! Sydney was great to work with and I promise you these desserts and cakes will change your life!

of my car when I arrived and it would be no hassle at all. I arrived at the bakery at 7:15 am and the bakery COULD NOT FIND THE CAKE. How do you lose a wedding cake?! I waited around for hours while other employees were called and when they finally found the cake, it was not assembled, so we had to wait for them to put it together, etc. How the heck does that happen?! I finally left he bakery at nearly 10am, but still had to make a 5 hour drive with cake in tow. It was not a good morning. You had one job, Alliance. I definitely know that for my wedding, I will not be using this bakery.

d actually purchased a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, my favorite, for my birthday last year. It was so stinking good we had to use them for our wedding desserts! We did an assortment of cupcakes and cookies and everything turned absolutely beautifully and so delicious! They were super easy to work with and very responsive while communicating through email. We will definitely be using them again in the future. I would HIGHLY recommend them for any baked-goods need!

on a cake tasting at Alliance. And all I can say is HOLY CRAP! First of all, every single cake/icing combination we tried was incredibly delicious; not too sweet and absolutely unique. Second of all, it became so difficult to choose that instead of having one wedding cake, we did a tasting cake and mini cupcakes. Those cupcakes were a HIT. And I don't think I've ever eaten a cake as good as this tasting cake. It was simple, beautiful, and delicious. And coordinating drop off at our reception location was a breeze. Alliance's wedding coordinators were a dream to work with. Thirdly, as an LGBTQ couple, finding wedding vendors can be incredibly stressful and the Supreme Court decision about the baker and religious freedom came down while my wife and I were planning our wedding. I reached out to Alliance making sure we were welcome. I received a message of complete support. It made me feel truly welcome on a tough day. If you are looking for a unique, beautiful, and scrumptious cake, Alliance is your bakery.

told that we would have to pay extra money to have the design upgraded (we wanted cascade sugar flowers, with peach, blush pink flowers) which we agreed to, but the cake they gave us is the exact opposite of what we wanted. The cake tasted good, like what we tried during the cake tasting, but we couldn't bear to look at the cake during the reception. I wish we looked at other bakeries if we only knew that they wouldnt be able to provide us the cake that we wanted.

p going with two different filling flavors. One flavor was the actual cake that we cut and the second was a sheet cake in back. Having a sheet cake was a less expensive option to feed all of our guests. We just celebrated our first anniversary with a slice of our top tier, and it was still delicious! I love this bakery!

o make our wedding cake. I came into the wedding cake with a rough idea of what I wanted. Sarah helped me to create a custom cake that turned out beautiful. Each tier of the cake was different and extraordinary. On the bottom tier of the cake, they created a gold Chicago skyline. It turned out incredible, and better yet, the cake tasted amazing! We are so happy we went with Alliance to create our custom wedding cake!

se an almond cake with chocolate and sea salt caramel buttercream filling, as well as a chocolate cake with raspberry filling, and used the traditional American buttercream frosting. Our cake was simple but beautiful, and tasted amazing. The only reason for 4 stars was due to a slight communication glitch when our initial contact left and didn't let us know we would be working with someone else. Everything else was great!
