Alluring Acres

We absolutely loved our day. Being able to spend time with our parents/bridal party in the bridal house, having plenty of time to set up… the help of both Dave and Chelsea, it all came together to make for a memorable wedding weekend! Don’t sleep in Alluring Acres!

The venue was more than I could have ever asked for. The owner and coordinator are flexible and want to make sure you as the bride get the wedding of your dreams. Highly suggest them if you are looking for a barn wedding in Wisconsin!

My daughter's wedding was flawless. Brittany,, the venue wedding coordinator, was prompt answering all text messages, timing on decorating, photography, ceremony to reception and on. She was responsive to any need my daughter or her wedding party had.. we had a problem with the catering and the owner spoke to "Billy" personally and resolved a cry worthy issue. We were able to serve several choices of wine and tap beer and selected cash mixed drinks. Everyone was happy. We also used on site freezer for "Dairy Queen" cake and sundaes, well liked in 94 degree weather under shaded pavilion. There are items stored in barn to help with decorating, such as a lattice arch, easel s, or even yard games. All in all a wonderful day! . ,

The setting was absolutely beautiful - the barn was wonderful, as well as the drive out to the venue from the hotel. Everything to do with the venue was spot on and great. However, there was a lot of deceitfulness with the wedding planner and what was in the contract. In the contract was stated a fee for "sound equipment use", and I personally talked with the wedding planner months and months before the wedding to ensure we could use the sound equipment and have our own musicians and our own dj for the dance. She ensured me that yes, we would be able to have the sound equipment and that was what was in the contract, already with the stated fee. A week before the wedding I called to ask her how many microphones would be available, and she proceeded to tell me they actually didn't have any sound equipment, that the fee was actually just for electricity (even though stated otherwise). She then said she'd check if they could figure out something for us, since the wedding was only one week away. I didn't trust her at this point, and so I found a friend who had a really basic sound system from a high school and we used that. The wedding planner had said she would call me back that afternoon, and she never even called me back that whole week before the wedding. And also, we should have been notified months earlier if they had decided to remove the availability of sound equipment. Absolutely shocking we had to scramble to find it last minute and still pay the sound equipment fee. Also, I had verbally communicated with her about the little house on the property. It was $200 to rent if the bridal party wanted to stay in it the night before. I told her we didn't, and asked about the availability of the little house on the day of the wedding to get ready in it with my bridesmaids. She said it would definitely be available to us to get ready in and wait in as guests arrive. The day before the wedding, she starts demanding the $200, because she heard we would be using it the day of the wedding to get ready in. There was nothing in the contract about that, and she had verbally told me that it was available to use. Obviously, this venue is in the middle of nowhere, so the bride & bridesmaids would definitely need a place to be, get ready, and wait as guests come. The whole thing was just really shocking. There were a lot of other little things, but these were the two main things. I would have given this venue 5 stars because of how well done it is and how beautiful and incredible, but the deceitfulness was really really disappointing. Especially because this was the opening season for this venue. I understand that maybe there were miscommunications and kinks to work out in the contract, but to not even call the bride back the week before the wedding about the sound system after you promise to is pretty unacceptable when that is your job. And then to verbally say that we would have the little house that day to get ready in and then go back on your word and charge $200, is really unacceptable. She also said she was upset because she had sent my mother and I an e-mail to fill out about the agenda of the day and other things, and we received 0 e-mails from her. She just really didn't do her job well at all. I absolutely loved our wedding and that weekend, it was beyond what we could of asked for! It was just so extremely disappointing working with Alluring Acres, where responsibility for things was consistently dropped and deceitfulness was high.
