Aloha Bites

Akiko created our wedding cake and grooms cake. Both were absolutely gorgeous and delicious. I was looking for a baker made somewhat artistic cakes, and not just your typical, unique wedding cake (if that makes sense). Akiko's cake are truly, genuinely unique and works of art. You only need to visit the gallery on her website to see for yourself. My cake was a watercolor drip cake adorned with flecks of edible gold, and colorful candy/chocolate bark and macarons. The inside of my cake was just as pretty as the outside as the inside of the cake was rainbow layered. It looked exactly as I had envisioned. The flavor was almond and absolutely delicious. The grooms cake was hand painted (hence her being a Cakelustrator) with a picture of a Bevo (we're UT Austin alums). His cake was his favorite cake flavor, red velvet...but with a twist...burnt orange velvet (Akiko's idea-loved it!). She also created THE most adorable cake toppers/figurines to accessorize the cake stand...a unicorn bride and a Longhorn groom. I know to most, these cakes may sound more unique than what you're looking for, but they were EXACTLY what we asked for. I wish I could include pictures with this review as my words won't do it justice. They were both so beautiful and we had SO many compliments on how perfectly they "fit us" and how beautifully they were crafted. If you're looking for a beautiful cake that doesn't fit the typical "cake mold," most definitely review Akiko's work. You won't be disappointed.
